KA Mariage

We are closely coming up to our 1 year anniversary and are reliving some of our best memories! We hired Kim for our wedding and are very happy we did. We live in the United States and had our wedding in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. She helped us navigate and coordinate booking and planning everything. She recommended some of her vendors which were excellent (lighting was Amazing! Flowers breath taking! Etc.) And she also worked very well with the others that we had selected (photographer and videographer). She even flew to Montreal for uto go look at and test different table set ups and sent multiple photos to me since I couldn't be there. She understood our vision, and made excellent recommendations. I trusted her and am happy we did. She was also a good friend through this process. Many times did she call to check in on our progress, and it felt like she was simply calling to say hi and settle my anxiety and answer questions. Is wedding planning easy and smooth? Of course not! But she clearly knows what she is doing and helped us achieve the wedding of our dreams. Our family and friends have all told us that this was the most beautiful wedding they ever saw. Kim is a wonderful person, a great businesswoman and has fantastic taste. I almost wish i could get married again just to have her organize another one. My husband and I hired KA MARIAGE, which is owned and run by Kim, to coordinate our wedding in April 2019 in Quebec City. We live in New York City and wanted someone experienced who could guide us to great vendors and most importantly coordinate the day of the wedding. Kim put on a great sales game assuring us that she knew all the right vendors and could execute flawlessly. Most importantly, that she would be there to coordinate in person along with two other assistants (this was in our contract). Throughout the process she was very reassuring and upbeat. Being a Quebec native, she knew the city very well and had a list of preferred vendors. For these reasons we felt very secure in hiring her. WHAT A MISTAKE. Starting from a few months out the red flags started to show. Taking days, sometimes weeks, to respond to emails and texts about timelines, vendors and budgets. When responses would come in, only some of our questions would be addressed and largely with a “yes” and a “wink face.” Often times she would misquote costs and forget major details of the budget. Just 3 months out from the wedding, she sent us a budget that was 45% over budget. Yes, you read that correctly. As much as 1 month out there were still major details that had not been solidified including, but not limited to rentals, catering and lighting. Details were left to the very last minute – up to 2 days before the ceremony. The wedding weekend arrived… Kim called me the morning of my wedding to say she would not be attending and that her assistant would take over. From that moment on everything was chaotic. The ceremony was delayed. Guests who were not able to attend the rehearsal were not given proper direction on where to line up. The bridal procession started 25 minutes late because the assistant didn’t know the run of show and failed to give the bride the cue to show up. The bridesmaids and groomsmen didn’t have enough seats in the front row. During the cocktail hour, I spent my time directing the set-up of the reception room because Kim decided not show up and provide the other two assistants (plus her own replacement for not showing up) to facilitate the night. During the reception it was no different. I ended up coordinating with the DJ and caterer directly on when to play music, when speeches were to be given, and when to prep meal service. To think that after such a nightmare of an experience, Kim would have at least had the decency to call us to explain. We sent her a polite, but honest recap email of the night and decided we should discuss over a call. We had two scheduled calls of which she cancelled both times. Later, Kim sent me an email berating me and my husband, pointing the finger at everyone, but herself. She forgot to mention that all of the issues would never have occurred had she honored the contract that we signed for 3 day of wedding coordinators. We are incredibly disheartened by her lack of professionalism, accountability and integrity. It’s very clear to us now that Kim thought she would be able to get by from doing the bare minimum. Throughout this process we respected every deadline she gave us and delivered a clear vision for what we wanted, and the one thing we needed from her was simply support the day of our wedding. I hope no other bride has to go through this experience! P.S. – All the photos on KA MARIAGE website are from before 2014 as are the reviews. Don’t be fooled by this person or her company.

We've worked with Kim on a few weddings in the last few years, and we love every minute of her work! She's a positive, radiant, creative and lovely human, not to mention, her events are modern, tasteful with an air of glamour and decadence. As a peer in the industry, we love working with her and recommending her to our clients!

I wish we had uncovered all of Kim's bad reviews before hiring her. Involving this wedding planner was a COSTLY MISTAKE. She is unprofessional, unresponsive, and inattentive to her clients needs. She made our wedding planning process hell. We were never sure if tasks had actually been taking care of and we were forced to resort to contacting the vendors directly in order to ensure that our wedding happened, and even incurred rush fees of several thousand dollars with some vendors because of Kim's carelessness. Moreover, we found out the week before our wedding that many of the necessary day-of vendors had not even been booked! Throughout the process, Kim told us that she was too busy to meet with us and was unresponsive to calls, texts and emails. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
