Josh is the absolute best!! there’s a reason why he’s received so many awards. I was so happy we were able to book him. HIs communication was amazing and he made us feel so comfortable. I wanted to dance the whole night, he played so many of my fav songs from my club days lol. I could not stop dancing - it was a blast! Couldn’t recommend him enough!
Josh was my favorite wedding vendor to work with! From the start, he was extremely responsive, communicative and thoughtful. We wanted to chat about our music preferences before the wedding, and we ended up having a 45 minute phone call about preferences, logistics, dislikes etc. Josh was SO easy to chat with and we left that phone call feeling so confident about our wedding music. Of course, he blew us away at the wedding! He took all of our likes/dislikes into consideration and helped us throw the BEST party. Our guests all raved about how much fun our reception was because of our DJ. What makes Josh unique is his ability to adapt to the kind of celebration you're interested in having. I promise, you need Kalifornia Entertainment at your wedding if you want it to be at a level above any other weddings! Thanks Josh for all you did for us.
This will be a long review but I want to talk about how awesome our DJ was. First off, I knew that the DJ would be an important part of our wedding, but I had no idea how crucial Kalifornia Entertainment would be to making our day memorable in so many amazing ways. Going with a real professional like Josh made all the difference, as it’s clear how much the professionalism and expertise that Josh has really paid off.
Leading up, Josh was fantastic to work with ahead of our wedding. He was beyond patient and understanding with all of our questions in our first consultation. We had a lot of questions because we met with a handful of DJs before him which gave us the opportunity to ask him questions we thought of after meeting with the others. When we decided to choose him after meeting with us (we felt more comfortable with him over the others we met with), we finally started the planning process. He was quick to answer every additional question I had when planning. From strategies to music for the ceremony at our outdoor spot to the best mic setup for our videographers to capture the audio they needed, he’d done it all before (and worked with many of our vendors as well), and the value of that experience was clear.
And of course, the detailed planning document and follow-up call 2 weeks before the wedding was the perfect way to make sure we’d ironed out all of the details. As a bride, it often felt like my job to think of everything, but with Josh, I got the comfort and relief of a pro who’d thought of everything I hadn’t and was always one step ahead. Our wedding day was wonderful but a bit chaotic, validating all of the prep work Josh did to be ready for anything. Some nasty weather rolled in and we had to change quickly to an indoor venue, but because we'd been over the backup plan, Josh was able to shift gears quickly without scrambling for new instructions. And let me tell you about how incredible Josh is as a DJ --- ROCK STAR!! It was a bit of a fire drill for him to pack up his equipment when the rain came and switch over to our alternate venue, but he did an absolutely amazing job. The second setup worked really well, with all of our guests able to hear our ceremony clearly—a huge priority.
We’d provided a list of songs we love (but gave him the freedom to do what he does best), and he understood our vibe so well! We got compliments not just from guests but from our shuttle drivers saying that the party sounded fantastic and that we had the best music—all thanks to Josh! We loved the fantastic energy he brought, joining our friends on the dance floor and understanding exactly how to keep people pumped up. We wanted a mix of country, pop, 90's, and some “guilty pleasure” tunes from our college days. He managed to find the perfect blend, switching it up to keep things fresh without giving anyone musical whiplash. The moment Josh became the real MVP of our wedding was when he approached our venue and got them to extend our end time! He saw how much fun we were having and took it upon himself to see if we could keep things going. We had the very best night, thanks to Josh's intuition, initiative, professionalism and preparation that I honestly believe is unmatched by anyone else. I cannot recommend Josh and Kalifornia Entertainment enough!
Kalifornia Entertainment was amazing! Josh was so well organized and professional. He also had very helpful advice that saved us from a lot of stress and time. He was also very fun and in tune with our guest and adjusted the music as needed through out to the night to make sure every guest had a wonderful time. In addition to the music my husband and I also decided to rent the photo booth. The photo booth was a great hit at our wedding and a key part of our guest book because we wanted to do something a little different. We decided to have guests glue one strip of photos and write us well wishes or advice in a photo album. It will be so much fun to look back at our guest book and all the silly photos of everyone in years to come. Our Best Man and his wife signed a contract with Josh at the end of the night because they are getting married in 2024 and didnt even want to bother talking to any other DJs. They were so impressed with Josh that they wanted to book him right away. I highly recommend Josh and Kalifornia Entertainment. Anyone who does get him for their wedding will understand quickly why he is the most wanted DJ in Rochester by couples. If I could give him more then 5 stars I would!
We were truly blown away by Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment. He was the first vendor we booked over 18 months before our wedding and he never failed to check in with us every step of the way. He made sure every last song we wanted was played, and kept everyone dancing on the dance floor the entire night. So many people told us how much their feet hurt after the wedding because they just could not stop dancing. All through planning, he constantly made it known that he was there for us - checking in with us every couple of months and even the entire night of the wedding. He even helped make small moments become some of our most memorable moments, and truly just being a friend throughout the entire experience. We would recommend Josh to our closest friends and family. Weeks later, our guests are STILL talking about how absolutely incredible Josh was and the extra level of care he gave to everyone. He is the absolute best. We tell everyone our wedding day was the best day & dance party ever, and we really do have Josh to thank for it! We are the luckiest that we were able to book him because he books SO FAR OUT because EVERONE wants him for their wedding! Thank you Josh for giving us the best day we dreamed of.
Josh was recommended by our wedding planner. We met with him and we knew instantly he was the right choice for us. We have a lot of dancers in our family so music was very important to us. Josh has a lot of mixes on his website and after listening to them, we knew even more so that we made the right decision on him. His communication is outstanding and he was always there to help us with anything we needed or answer any of my hectic questions. He hit it out of the park during the wedding and not one person was sitting the whole night. Everyone including my 70 year old aunt, both of our parents, and our friends were on the dance floor the whole night. And the fact that Josh came out on the dance floor and showed his AMAZING break dance skills (we asked him to because we knew he was a dancer too) was incredible. A few of our guests even connected with Josh to see if he’d DJ their upcoming wedding as well so we get to party with him many more times which we can't wait. Thank you Josh for everything you did for us and giving us the best night of our lives.
The. Best. Choice. Period! My husband and I had the pleasure and luck of booking Josh with Kalifornia Entertainment for my wedding reception and it was the BEST decision ever. The music was EXACTLY as we had wanted and we didn’t leave the dance floor all night! Everything Josh does for his clients is wonderful and he offers a level of service that is UNMATCHED by anyone else. I would 100% recommend him for any event you need a DJ for but you have to book him fast. We snagged him over 2 years in advance. Just by doing simple searches you'll see that he has brides clawing their way to book him and it's no wonder he is the MOST popular and wanted DJ in Rochester. Consider yourself one of the true lucky ones if you have him at your wedding. We strongly believe there is no other DJ in Rochester that brides and grooms can say the same about. I can't even put into words how amazing Josh and this company is! Josh MADE our day! He was so helpful and informative during our planning process. He was sure to answer any questions we had almost instantly and he gave so many amazing recommendations that only someone with his experience and skill can do! He listened to what type of reception vibes and music we wanted! He even customized the timing and how my songs played for our ceremony. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT OUR RECEPTION! Josh is the BEST DJ I have ever experienced! There was not one moment that the dance floor was empty! He played all the right songs that we wanted and needed! His photo booth was a MASSIVE hit and guests loving being able to use it for their favors. I got so many compliments and how great the music was and how fun the reception was! Josh is a true professional. When we were searching for DJs for our wedding, we must have met with probably 10 different guys. After we met with Josh we knew he was the one for us. His planning and communication is wonderful. Our wedding day was something that dreams are made of and we owe a lot of that to Josh. If you're looking for a DJ that will make your wedding memorable and incredible, then look no further than Kalifornia Entertainment.
We got in touch with Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment because our venue coordinator referred him immediately. Our officiant recommended him also. Josh replied quick to our request and after meeting with him, we saw pretty quick why he is in such high demand and why our venue and vendors recommend him strongly. He complemented our vision in music tastes and wedding theme and was able to adapt to all of our guests musical requests and selections. Even for specialty songs that are not what you would normally hear at most weddings. He also surprised us with some awesome party LED foam lights that pushed our night forward even more! His video booth was a very big hit with our guests, especially with the guests who were not big dancers. It gave them something fun to do and they loved it. I wish I could give Josh a hundred stars. He is incredible at what he does. If you're able to reserve him for your wedding then consider yourself very very lucky because you absolutely will not find a better DJ that does what Josh does or a better company that gives you the level of customer service and detail that you get with Kalifornia Entertainment.
Josh is the ultimate professional and was awesome. He more than delivered than we could have possibly wanted! Not only is he an incredible DJ that uses turntables, but he comes with a ton of great wedding planning experience to make sure your night runs as smooth as possible. The way he was able to read the crowd and keep the party going was something I have never seen before at other weddings I attended. A DJ can make or break any party and Kalifornia Entertainment made my wedding the best party of my life. We asked for a "club" at the reception and he did just that! Everyone loved the atmosphere during the last 2 hours and honestly everyone was dancing all night. Josh is also very prompt in getting back to you just about immediately and he offers a special touch of customer service that is out of this world. He also goes through your music choices and timelines with you to makes sure you are satisfied and offers tons of suggestions if you are not sure what to do. RECOMMENDED! RECOMMENDED! RECOMMENDED!! He will be my go to DJ company for any event I’m apart of going forward.
A huge thank you to Kalifornia Entertainment for helping us have an amazing wedding! Josh was so patient as we postponed our celebration several times and had a few last minute changes the day of the wedding. Josh is amazing at what he does and you learn very quickly why he books up so fast and why he is in such high demand. Consider yourself very lucky if you are able to secure him for your wedding. Everthing he does is on a whole other level to make sure your wedding is a total success. The music, the lighting, the planning and customer service, and the photobooth were all an enormous success with us and our guests and he truly enhanced the whole experience. My husband and I are so glad that we hired Kalifornia Entertainment for our wedding reception. Josh provided excellent advice and professional recommendations for almost every part of the wedding which I greatly appreciated, and personal touches that really made his company stand out above any DJ service I have experienced before at other weddings we were guests at. He was both great to work with and extremely professional. Most importantly, the music selection was perfect and he kept people dancing all night long. So many friends and family members said their feet were really sore the next day from dancing all night. So happy we went with Josh, and will be recommending Kalifornia Entertainment to everyone we know.
I hired Kalifornia Entertainment on the recommendation of my photographer and videographer. Not only did Josh deliver excellent customer service, communication, and planning prior to, during and even AFTER the wedding, my guests all said it was the best DJ they have ever heard and they had so much fun. A few of my guests had blisters on their feet because they couldnt stop dancing and were on the dance floor all night long. Josh had great audience participation and everybody loved him like he was part of the family. He helped to make things run very smoothly, and was actually more helpful and in control than some of the staff at the venue. He included everyone and has a great personality for his job. Josh knew exactly what to do and play to make sure everyone had a great time and our reception was a huge hit. I would recommend Josh to anyone needing a professional, experienced and fun DJ and photo booth company.
I’m overjoyed to finally be married and to have had the honor of working with Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment! He was patient and accommodating to the ever changing covid environment and very understanding of the need to rearrange at a moments notice. He has exceptional communication, high attention to detail, is an extremely talented DJ in the way he mixes music, let my husband and I play on his turntables so our photographer could get fun photos, takes extra care in making all of his lighting look flawless and impeccable, and most importantly has excellent knowledge of the nights wedding flow. Our families and friends loved him and the way he interacted with everybody, all had a wonderful time using his photo booth, and never once ever stopped dancing the entire night. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a strong DJ in your corner to help your wedding go smoothly and create a night filled with fun!
We used Josh from Kalifornia Entertainment as our DJ, uplighting, monogram, sparkler send off, ceremony and photo booth! He went above and beyond and made our day absolutely perfect! We couldn’t have asked for anything better! The venue lighting was beautiful as well with our name and wedding date on the wall! The photo booth was amazing and we even got a book at the end of the night with every photo taken in it! I couldn’t have asked for a better DJ! Where do I begin, we were originally scheduled for to have our wedding in June and we had to postpone due to Covid. Josh took care of our rescheduling with ease, and assured us that we could easily rebook to a later date with no extra fee's. We ended up settling on a Friday wedding in November. Josh was great to work with and he made planning stress free and easy. He went above and beyond in so many ways that he was my savings grace through all this craziness. The day of the wedding, he was even more incredible. He played all of our requested music and I must say, he's a rockstar of a DJ. Even though a lot of people didnt want to be close to others on the dance floor, Josh was so much fun and kept our friends entertained the entire night. His lighting transformed the venue and made it beautiful. His touch free photo booth was awesome and everyone got to take home tons of pics. Kalifornia Entertainment was actually referred to us by our venue and we are so happy we chose Josh because our day wouldn't have been such a success without him. Thank you for everything Josh!
Josh, the owner of Kalifornia Entertainment, made sure he understood everything we wanted our wedding to be and he put all of the important details down that we were looking for to ensure it was the best day ever. He constantly kept in touch with us through out the planning phases and he helped us above and beyond plan out the perfect micro wedding due to covid. The day of, he was incredible! He checked in with us throughout the wedding to make sure everything was going the way we wanted it to, he got us drinks when he saw we didnt have any in our hands, he worked perfectly with our coordinator and other vendors and he was super attentive to the music tastes of our guests. His photo booth was perfect for our small wedding and with it being completely touch free really made things easy. We interviewed a few different DJ companies but when we met Josh we knew instantly we had to have him for our wedding and booked him immediately. Having to plan a wedding during a pandemic was awful, but Kalifornia Entertainment kept in touch throughout and was very accommodating when I had to push our date out twice. Josh not only kept in touch with me but also with our other vendors and the venue to help replan everything so many times. I would like to say that our wedding happened and was a success because of Josh! When our day finally came and happened, he made everything run so smoothly! From the moment we arrived until the last song, Josh was so personable and went out of his way to ensure all of our needs were met. We were able to relax and enjoy every bit of our special night. Our guests had such a great time. My husband and I were married last week. Both of us had no clue where to start when it came to looking for a DJ. Thankfully our venue suggested someone and a few emails/phone calls later and we were in contact with Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment. He asked us such great questions, regarding what we were looking for so he could provide us with exactly what we wanted. Josh gave fantastic suggestions for songs when we were stumped during the planning and really helped us along the way but the most impressive part of what Josh did was when we had to reschedule our wedding due to Covid-19. Josh was a complete life saver for us and not only coordinated with our venue and other vendors but he really gave us some great ideas for having a smaller scaled down reception. Once the day finally came, Josh wasn’t fantastic, he was beyond fantastic. He was the best possible DJ we could have hired. He took what we talked about with him about and did better than we could have ever imagined. Josh even went beyond the job of a DJ. During dinner he helped to usher tables and spent time talking with our guests. Never did our reception dance feel like every other wedding, and guests who don’t typically dance got out on the dance floor, including my husband who swore he might dance for one or two songs. He ended up dancing the night away. Many of our guests kept saying how amazing Josh was not just as a DJ but as person who genuinely cares about everyone who is there. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ and we will recommend Kalifornia Entertainment to anyone getting married.
I cannot say enough about how awesome the music at our wedding was! Josh truly knows how to keep the party going and made sure our guests had a blast! After meeting with a bunch of different DJs, my husband and I were worried we were not going to find one that we truly were happy with 100%. We didnt want to settle for someone who was 70, 80, 90 or even 99% of what we were looking for. But Josh nailed it and hit 100% of what we were looking for exactly and he definitely brought the party and rhythm! Josh also worked with us during the ceremony and cocktail hour where we had a solo saxophonist play along with the DJ for an intimate live music feel. It was such a hit! We also got his photo booth through which everyone loved. Our guests have said over and over that our wedding was the most fun wedding they had ever been to. Money well spent!! If you're looking for someone who just gets it and will deliver on EVERYTHING you want for your wedding, you dont want to pass up meeting with and hiring Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment!!!
Our experience with Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment was very positive and he was my favorite vendor we hired for our wedding! We started by meeting with him to get a feel for what we were wanting from our big day and see what he could do to help us achieve that. We hired him on the spot without even thinking twice and we even had appointments set up with other DJs in the area. We are so happy we went with Josh because we received so many compliments on him and had an amazing time! At the end of the night everyone was sad to see it end which I believe speaks volumes on Josh's performance as a DJ. He helped take a lot of stress off from us as he worked behind the scenes on a lot of things for us. He took extra time to make our venue look beautiful with uplighting, an animated monogram on the wall and beautiful floral lighting that covered our entire ceiling. Our guests loved using his photo booth. His photo booth props are some of the best I have ever seen at a wedding which made using the photo booth even more fun. We were more than satisfied with our experience with Kalifornia Entertainment and I would highly recommend this business to anyone else looking for an incredible DJ for their wedding as well!
Josh was one of the best parts of our wedding. He went above and beyond what was asked of him. He went around and spoke with our guests and treated them all like family. When my timeline went a little array, he assured me we could be flexible and that there was plenty of time for everything we wanted to fit in. He followed our timeline and music requests to the T. If someone at the venue wanted to play a song that was not keeping in our He was very kind and respectful the entire night! I could not have asked for a better DJ. He was wonderful and even our venue coordinator said he was the best DJ she has ever worked with.
Where do I even begin? Josh was my savings grace. We originally planned to get married in the Spring but covid19 made us switch our date. Josh helped us so much and put my mind at east. He kept in constant contact with me, my husband, my venue and my photographer. We had to take our guest list down to 50 people but he still gave us an amazing wedding reception. He kept our guests entertained, created really fun table games and was able to do so much that our guests loved and still stay within state guidelines. If you're looking for an amazing DJ, I'm telling you right now that Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment is your guy, especially during the strange times we're living in now and having to change weddings drastically. Whether you are having a big wedding or a micro wedding with only 50 people, Josh can still give you everything you want plus more. Josh was recommended by our venue, wedding planner and photographer. We chose his top package that included reception music, ceremony music, full room uplighting, and his photo and video booth! He did a phenominal job and we received positive compliments from all of our guests on him and his music. When we were planning things, he was easy to talk to, made us both feel very comfortable and helped us with a lot of things we were stuck on! Even though he came highly recommended by our venue, planner and photographer, we still compared a lot of DJ's so if you are currently doing looking for your entertainment...just go with Josh and dont waste your time with other DJs like we did. Josh is a great value for his personality, his experience, his planning, his customer service, his packages he offers and most of all, his talent!
Josh was an amazing DJ for our wedding! From the very beginning of planning our big day, he was always there to give advice and suggestions. From timelines for dinner, cake, flower toss, dancing/etc, to other stuff like ceremony songs & even vows. He was very helpful! We didn't have a wedding coordinator for the day of, which scared me, but Josh assured us that he will help direct & keep us on track for our timeline, which he did & was great at. He was very upbeat & good at throwing in fun things throughout the night to keep the event upbeat as well.
The day after our wedding, I was talking to my husband (still weird to say 'husband') about how amazing Josh was. My husband then recalled at one point during our wedding night, that Josh randomly walked up & said "I saw you didn't have a drink in hand so I brought you one!" I mean that right there tells you how amazing he is. Just WOW!

A DJ could either make or break your wedding. Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment definitely MADE my wedding day! I can’t say enough good things about him and this company! So professional and knows exactly what to do and how to do it! So very easy to work with too. Josh seriously put my worries to ease about everything. He gave great advice I needed, had every song correct down to the second for the whole night and was so friendly and professional! His communication is incredible and he talked with me almost daily on Facebook. He even gave me tons of ideas that I never even though of to make the reception way more unique and fun. His lighting transformed the venue and made everything beautiful. His photo and video booth was so much fun and our guests loved taking home prints from it. We hired Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment for our Fall themed wedding. He was extremely professional from the beginning, making sure to respond within minutes when we had questions. His planning is impeccable and he makes sure everything down to the finest details are perfect. For the photo booth, I was so impressed with his willingness to customize the photo booth prints for the photos that fit with our style. I loved how it turned out! At the wedding, the photo booth was a huge hit and everyone loved the setup.
On the DJ side of things, he was incredible! He mixed music in a way I have never heard before and it was amazing. Many of our guests said they have never heard a DJ mix music so perfectly like Josh. He more than delivered at the wedding. He was super cool, funny, and played the perfect mix of music during cocktail hour, dinner and during the night. Our guests never once ever left the dance floor. His energy and positivity all night was so impressive!! Thank you Josh for giving us the wedding we dreamed of!
Josh was so awesome! Every time we talked on the phone or online, Josh was incredibly sweet, helpful, and down to earth. We actually booked Josh after terrible customer service/experience with another big local DJ company and dealing with Josh was like night and day compared to the company we were talking to before. On top of that, Josh played the best songs and was flexible when we had certain requests that was nowhere on the standard playlist. The guests danced ALL NIGHT and we had the best time. Another thing that made everything awesome was Josh didnt charge us for uplighting or a monogram which the other company wanted to charge for. I can't say enough how awesome it was to work with Josh and will recommend him to everyone I know looking for a DJ.
Josh was a dream to work with and we would highly recommend Kalifornia Entertainment for your wedding DJ, lighting and photo booth. Our guests would not stop raving about how much they loved Josh himself and the music. From the beginning, Josh was so responsive via email, Facebook and texting and spent a lot of time getting to know what type of music we preferred. He was professional and answered every single question we had and then he customized our wedding reception to be the perfect mix for all of our guests. He made the entire evening so much fun and truly memorable for all who attended. Kalifornia Entertainment was also incredibly easy to work with from communication to booking to planning to lighting design to photo booth options and payment to the final days up to our event. Josh made the whole process so easy and seamless from our first meet and greet to the very last moments of our reception. Not only is Josh an exceptional DJ, but he is just a really genuine person — it is easy to see he really cares about his clients. During our first meet and greet, Josh took the time to get to know me and my husband on a personal level — how we met, our hobbies, what we envisioned for our day, etc. It made our future meetings and conversations feel more like catching up with old friends than business transactions. Josh was super organized, timely and always looking 5 steps ahead to make sure our big day was flawless. Josh was an amazing DJ for our wedding! From the very beginning of planning our big day, Josh was always there to give advice. From timelines for dinner, cake, flower toss, dancing/etc, to other stuff like ceremony songs. He was very helpful! We didn't have a wedding coordinator for the day of, which scared me, but Josh assured us that he will help direct & keep us on track for our timeline, which he did & was great at. He has an amazing warm personality and takes a lot of time to get to know his customers. Hes wonderful at throwing in fun things throughout the night to keep the event upbeat as well. My wedding was perfect all thanks to Josh! He met my husband and I numerous times before the wedding and answered my many random texts and Facebook messages with weird wedding questions!! He was so eager to help me in anyway he could. Josh is way more than a DJ. He helped me create a timeline for the wedding day, he found me the perfect photographer and make up artist in a short notice, and he was a huge help before the ceremony when there were a couple of hiccups with my wedding party. The blue up lighting made my reception magical. I received so many compliments on our personalized monogram along with the music, up lighting, and photo booth! I can not thank Josh enough for all the hard work and effort he put into my wedding. I can’t recommend him and his company enough to anyone looking for an incredible DJ!
Josh was absolutely amazing. He took a lot of time before the wedding talking to us and having a few in person meetings to make sure everything was sorted out and ready. The actual wedding went perfectly smooth, and many of our guests commented on how great the music was. He kept the dance floor filled the entire night, did a great job MC’ing, and really worked with us to make it our event with our music. Josh even came out on the dance floor and showed everyone how to do some hip hop choreopgraphy. He even set up live sound equipment so we could have live singers with guitars during the ceremony. We didnt know if we wanted to do favors so Josh recommended his photo booth so guests could take home pics as favors and it was the best thing ever. Everyone loved the idea and being able to use the photo booth all night. I will recommend Kalifornia Entertainment every opportunity I can and our photographer said he would do the same. He told us he's worked a lot of weddings and has never seen a DJ do what Josh does. Thank you Josh so much for everything. You truly made our wedding the greatest night of our lives.
We loved the professionalism given to us by Josh. A DJ can really make or break a special night and ours was wonderful. We've been to a few weddings as guests in the past couple of years and all of the DJ's were cringeworthy at best. But with Josh is totally different than all of those cheeseballs. First, he was really easy to work with. He's been doing this a long time and not only does he do weddings but he works in clubs and that's the vibe we were going for to have that fun upbeat atmosphere. Josh is a vendor you can fully trust to do everything he promises you during the planning stages and then some. We loved his client backend feature on his website that has lists of the most popular songs in each category (first dance, ceremony, etc.) That was really helpful when choosing music. We wanted to alter the tempo of a couple songs which Josh did with no problem or extra charges. He really captured the vibe of the night and had the right energy from beginning to end. I especially recommend Kalifornia Entertainment if you're like us and wanted a 90's throwback and old school hip hop dance party.
Literally every part of the process was very easy with Josh from Kalifornia Entertainment. He was high energy with a great personality, helped us with many other things other than just music and DJ related items, and was my favorite vendor out of them all. His communication is incredible and he kept in touch with us almost weekly which helped ease my stress on a few things. The night of the wedding went perfect. His uplighting transformed our venue, he created a monogram that he shined above our cake, his photo booth was so much fun that everyone loved and his music was the best! Music was very very important to my husband and I. We also wanted someone who understood our needs and had great customer service because we asked our vendors a lot of questions during our wedding planning. We were going to go with a company where they assign you a DJ but a friend of ours told us to check out Kalifornia Entertainment first. We are so happy we held off on booking the other company and went with Josh immediately after meeting with him. Not only does he offer better pricing than the other company with multiple DJs but we felt like his personality and customer service was on a much higher level. He kept in touch with us constantly, sent us a lot of ideas and always made sure we were doing ok with the planning. The night of the wedding, he kept checking in with us and really stepped up into a coordinator role by keeping everyone up to date on the nights festivities, helping to get the wedding party lined up for introductions, helped out my Maid of Honor with her speech, and did a wonderful job of keeping everyone engaged. His song mixing was incredible and there wasnt a moment where no one wanted to leave the dance floor. His uplighting and monograms really added a classy look to the country club and his photo booth was terrific. Everyone got to take home pics of the wedding and Josh sent us a zip file the next day of all the pics and videos. Josh is in a league of his own and we are beyond thrilled he was our DJ for a very important day in our lives. If I could give him 10 stars I would. I largely attribute the success of our wedding day to Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment. From the very first time we met with him, we felt confident that we were working with a top notch professional and that Josh was committed to making our day special for us. During our multiple meetings with him, he helped us choose all the little details that made sure our wedding was the best ever.
The day of our wedding, he showed up 3 hours before cocktail hour to make sure his equipment, uplighting, monogram and photobooth was set up and looked professional. In the time during cocktail hour, before announcing the wedding party he went over the details one more time. Josh was OCD about making sure names and everything was perfect and if there were any last minute changes, which we loved because it shows his dedication to his craft. Thank goodness!
We did have had a last minute change in the wedding party and he saved us a lot of embarrassment by being on top of things. The reception went wonderfully and Josh did a great job keeping things on track without being intrusive. He knew exactly how to engage our guests and just really went above and beyond all of our expectations. The price to book Josh and all the extras was much less than other companies but I can say you get your moneys worth with him. I had the most amazing experience with Kalifornia Entertainment. From the moment I met Josh, after meeting 7 other DJs, I knew he was the right guy for the job by his professionalism, the passion he showed when he spoke about music and how to make our wedding special. When we asked him why we should hire him, his response to that was in depth and better than the response anyone else gave us. He was so attentive and his responses to our questions when we reached out to him were prompt and timely, always answering my questions within minutes and giving me guidance as needed. He has great pricing and includes things that other DJ's charge a lot for. His photo booth is also one of the most cost effective photo booths out of anyone else we talked to. Josh worked very closely with me leading up to my wedding, ensuring we were all on the same page and that everything was clear for my ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner hour and for the remainder of the night. I don't even know where to begin when explaining how awesome Josh at Kalifornia Entertainment is. From our initial meeting, to the planning process, to our wedding day, he went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. When we met Josh for the first time, he explained that his goal is to make sure the bride and groom show up to their wedding feeling like guests so they can enjoy the day and not worry about anything. Let me tell you, he did just that, and more. My husband was so impressed with Josh's presentation, his demeanor and personality, his thoroughness, his client area on his website and planning forms that the minute we left our initial meeting he said we needed to book him immediately (which we did a few days later). Josh sat with us and we acted like best friends that have known each other for years. He made us feel very comforable and didnt come across like some sleazy car salesman like some other DJ's we met with. From that moment on, Josh was so on top of everything when it came to the lead up to the reception and kept constant communication open with us almost every week on Facebook. He also did a walk through at our venue with us prior to the wedding to ensure everything for the set up and logistics would be perfect (including uplighting, monogram, cake lighting, and his photo booth which we booked through him). I really don't know of any other DJ who would be willing to do so much that Josh did for us just to help make a day so special. When the actual day came, and the minute we stepped into the reception, we did not have to worry about a single thing. Josh made everything go SO smoothly and the dance floor was packed all night. We left him in charge of music creativity and it was amazing. I've been to other weddings where the DJ was just so bad in the songs they chose. You never have to worry about that with Josh. I wish I had more room to keep posting how great he is, but I will wrap up by saying booking Josh was the best decision we made for our wedding and he is truly one of a kind!

My husband and I had Kalifornia Entertainment for our wedding. From beginning to end, Josh was professional, fun, and cared about every aspect of our wedding day down to the timing and detail. He has multiple pricing packages available but we went with his top package which included uplighting, a monogram, ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner music and a photo booth.
I was thoroughly impressed with the song selection process and how we had our own personal wedding account on his website. Josh made sure to go over every single detail of the day and song with us a week before the wedding and to make sure he had all of the details down to the smallest thing. I don't know what else to say other than Josh is spectacular. As a bride who is admittedly a little bit of a control freak and who picked a wedding venue with a shorter timeframe allowance than most, he kept to our schedule and allowed for flexibility all in a fun and unstressful way. Even when we ran a bit overtime due to longer than expected table visits at dinner, he found a way to squeeze in everything we wanted to do!
He was a great host, and helped events flow from excusing tables to dinner to speeches, cake cutting to introductions, dances, bouquet toss, garter toss, leading dances you name it! He was always checking in with me without “checking in,” and I know the day would not have worked as well without him. Josh is also the most incredible DJ I have ever heard in my life. The way he mixes the music is awesome and every song was so just so smooth and incredible. He had everyone out on the floor dancing, I mean everybody! He had a great song selection, stuck to our themes and everyone had a really great time. I don’t think I ever got off the dance floor! His photo booth was so much fun and everyone raved on how they loved using it to take pictures and leave us video messages. We had several people come up to us after the wedding asking for information on how to book Josh for their upcoming weddings and other events. Ten out of ten would highly highly recommend Josh if you want the best in Rochester.

Kalifornia Entertainment is awesome! We LOVED Joshua. Not only did he provide excellent service at our wedding, but he was so easy to communicate with throughout the entire process of planning. We are SO happy we hired this guy for our wedding!!! You won't be disappointed! Josh (DJ Kalifornia) is not only the best DJ my husband and our guests have ever heard, but his personality is perfect for weddings or any event! He was always in communication, responsive, understood our needs/wants, had some genius ideas and suggestions we never even thought of, and throughout the process was very organized and upbeat. He's a person you can trust to get the job done right! And he makes your wedding very unique and not like any others. Also, Josh was able to play the coordinator role (to our surprise he really stepped up) with us so we could really let loose a little more and enjoy the reception. Since we had organized schedules, line up order - he was able to play a more active role. He went over name pronunciations beforehand and cued everyone throughout the night on what's coming up! His lighting made our venue look beautiful and elegant. His photo booth was a giant hit with everyone and they loved getting pics printed for themselves and being able to leave video messages to me and my husband. Our dance floor was packed from dinner until the last song of the night. Josh even played an extra 15 minutes because all of our guests didnt want to leave and wanted to keep dancing. I can't say how amazing Josh and his company is!!!!! He's more than a DJ! In my almost 10 years of Human Resources recruitment experience, he's a top find. Skill is something that can be found (not as good as Josh in my opinion because if his nightclub and bar experience), but personality is something very hard to find and makes the biggest difference in the quality of work. Hiring Kalifornia Entertainment was without a doubt the best wedding planning decision we made. Josh was amazing to work with and made our wedding reception the best it could be. We hired him to do our ceremony music and to DJ our reception and his photobooth. He provided all of the equipment needed, including microphones and lighting (a monogram and uplighting). He also provided an initial detailed questionnaire that was a huge help in the planning process.
Josh was excellent at keeping the reception going and keeping everyone on our planned timeline but was still flexible with us as the night went on. He did an amazing job keeping the guests entertained and the party going, even my 80 year old grandmother got up and danced! We loved how comfortable it was for us to work with him and how he was willing to do whatever we wanted for our wedding. We had total faith that Josh would do an excellent job and he did not let us down. We definitely feel that we got more than our money's worth with Kalifornia Entertainment.
So glad I chose Josh (DJ Kalifornia) and Kalifornia Entertainment to DJ my wedding. Both during and after the reception numerous guests told me how great the music selections were, and it was also evident by how much fun they were having on the dance floor. But what really sets Josh apart from other DJs is his professionalism in everything he does, his down to earth personality, his constant on-going communication, his ideas and concepts to make every wedding unique and of course, his nightclub and bar experience which makes his mixing impeccable and of course his sick dance skills. He also has very quick thinking and able to change things on a whim when schedules are thrown off and he has excellent execution in keeping the party upbeat and moving along in a timely manner. When we couldn't quite remember the steps to a line dance, he jumped onto the dance floor and gave us a brief review of the footwork so we could get back to just having fun. And when I realized at the last minute that I had no garter for the groom to toss, Josh found an improvised item in our table decorations that worked as a great substitute (nobody knew the difference)! He also managed to find and play a couple more obscure songs that had special meaning to me toward the end of the reception. I know very well that music can make or break a party, but Josh made it easy for everyone to have a good time. I definitely recommend him, his DJ services, his professionalism, his photo booth and lighting for any event.
Josh was absolutely incredible with every request we made. I had the wedding of my dreams run so smoothly and am still receiving compliments about how it went thanks to the DJ! I had the beautiful dancing on a cloud, gorgeous color towers and up lighting to match our wedding color scheme, excellent reception sound system and he played all of the songs requested by us! He also helped with the sparkler grand exit at the end of the night! Josh's personality was so warm and caring, and all of our guests loved him! THE BEST!! Booking with Kalifornia Entertainment was a fantastic decision. When we met with him for a consult, he made us feel very comfortable and we talked like we had known each other for years. That was an important thing for my husband and I when meeting DJ's. We needed someone who didnt pressure us or pull shady sales tactics. Josh was very laid back and gave us amazing ideas that we never even thought was possible at a wedding. He was responsive to our needs throughout the planning process and the entire day of the wedding. Our friends and family loved him as much as we did. His mixing was AMAZING and if you're priviledged enough to see him dance with your wedding party, then consider it a treat. We wanted someone who could read our dance floor and mix music with perfection, which we got with Josh because he's a club DJ. Josh from Kalifornia Entertainment was AMAZING!!! We loved him...our guests loved him...and he was beyond incredible to work with!!! "Best wedding music ever" was pretty much the most commonly heard phrase we got throughout the evening!!! The dance party went on well into the night, the dance floor was full, and he was everything we had hoped for. We said we didn't want a cheesy music type of DJ, but someone who our guests love, feel connected with, but also someone who keeps the timeline and sequence of events under control. He did all of these things and more!!!! And the hotel staff loved working with him. Our coordinator said she has never seen so many people on the dance floor all night with other DJs and she was going to refer all her brides to Josh. Where do I begin with my praise for Josh and Kalifornia Entertainment? He was absolutely amazing and was hands-down the most talked about aspect of my wedding. People loved him! Josh went above and beyond as a DJ. We met several times leading up to the big day where we talked in detail about the reception. Josh is multi-talented. He not only is an incredible DJ and MC but he's an awesome dancer. He taught my entire wedding party how to pop & lock and breakdance. They LOVED it. He was an expert at adding additional lighting to the reception area. We used his photo booth and monogram lighting skills as well. The reception flow was outstanding, thanks to him. The introduction of the bridal party was a huge hit. The way he introduced each member individually with facts about each person was unique and personal. The love story he told of how my fiance and I met was beautiful and had the guests in tears. There was never a dull moment and several people wanted his name and number following the wedding. Josh was WONDERFUL! The music was on so on point the whole night and our guests were out dancing and actually had to be told to sit down for a short time while dinner was served so that they wouldn’t be in the way of the waiters. He played our requests, took requests from our guests and transitioned songs so smoothly and flawlessly. Not only was he an awesome DJ, but also a great professional to work with. During the reception he was able to go with the flow and gauge the crowd at every moment, and was extremely flexible when we wanted to change up the order of things on the fly based on our crowd. It flowed seamlessly. Our dance floor was over flowing with our guests from beginning to end and we received so many compliments on how much fun everyone had, which had to do with Josh. I knew the moment we met with Kalifornia Entertainment (Joshua) that he was the one we needed to have at our wedding. It can be exhausting meeting with so many DJ's and hearing them all pitch themselves to you. You just don't know who to go with. But Joshua was different. He has this certain charisma that we weren't able to see or find with other DJ's we met with. We wanted someone who understood our music tastes and Joshua nailed it perfectly.
Joshua doesn't do anything halfway. He puts his whole entire heart into your wedding with an enormous amount of passion. He listened, he observed, and then he delivered!
His uplighting and monogram transformed our venue and made it look beautiful. We knew we chose a great DJ also when people started dancing even before dinner. Our floor was packed to the point where it actually over flowed with guests because EVERYONE wanted to dance to what Joshua was playing. His music blends so perfectly to the point where you don't even realize when one song is ending and the next song is starting. His photobooth was so much fun and guests loved being able to choose photos, video, boomerangs and write on the screen to leave us messages. Joshua is very interactive with people too, not just on the microphone but he comes out on the dance floor and dances and teaches people how to dance too. He set up a dance battle between the guys and gals and had us all do Soul Train Line and it was so funny.

We cannot say enough positive things about Josh and Kalifornia Entertainment. Let me start by saying we found him because he came highly recommended through friends. We met with a couple of DJ companies that have a bunch of different DJs that you can choose from and we couldn't understand why their prices were so high. Our friends told us that it's because those companies have an over head to pay so they pass those prices and fees on to you, which isn't very fair in my opinion. If you're looking for a DJ, keep that in mind when you do your search. So our friends told us to check out Josh and boy are we so happy we did.
From our first meeting until the very end of our wedding, he was wonderful. Always making sure we had everything we needed. He played an awesome variety of music and kept everybody on the dance floor all night long. Anything you want, he will try to make it happen for you! The photo booth was amazing and everyone loved having pictures as the wedding favors.
Josh worked with our officiant to help schedule our the ceremony too, which went off flawlessly. The reception was phenomenal. Josh was so on top of it he actually took the time to ask my husband and I if he could get us anything to drink from the bar. He was very aware of the time schedule and would find us if it was time to move on to the next formal portion of the reception. Another huge thing in my opinion is that he got along great with our other vendors and they loved him. Our photographer even said she was removing a DJ from her vendor list and putting Josh right at the top because he was so great. Thank you Kalifornia Entertainment for making our day PERFECT!
