K&J Catering

We received so many compliments on the food served at our wedding! We had an Italian themed buffet, which was well set up to get all of our guests (just over 200) enjoying dinner in a timely manner. Everyone was great to work with!

Setting up the tasting was easy. Working with them to get the contract signed and paid was fast and easy. Coordinating with them for the day of went great and everything turned out amazing and everyone loved the food

Kurt and Jean have perfected catering. You couldn't ask for a more professional, affordable, and high-quality service that includes some of the most delicious food available in the Twin Cities! Our guests absolutely LOVED the food. Jean was very communicative and accommodating throughout the planning process, and they were an absolute dream to work with on the day of. I cannot recommend them enough!

K & J Catering was the PERFECT choice for catering for our wedding. Jean and Kurt went above and beyond to execute a wonderful meal that was flavorful and affordable. Our guests were just as pleased with the food as us and spoke highly of it all night. We also appreciated the variety they provided and flexibility in creating a menu to fit our taste and favorites, AND there were no corners cut on the amount of food. I would, and will be, recommending K & J to anyone looking for catering.

Kurt and Jean were so helpful and accommodating with our wedding reception. We went back and forth on the menu and maybe moving off site due to capacity restrictions. We were able to have the perfect wedding even during such tough times. Our guests had a great time. We were the last wedding in their venue and they were selling to move to another space due to covid. They were so helpful and it was great. Everyone loved the space. We had plenty of space for our guests to feel comfortable. The food was amazing as well, especially the Mac and cheese! ;) It was perfect and we were happy to be able to have our wedding and close our the Victorian room with a bang! We loved our experience with K&J! It was great quality, tasted amazing and all for a great price. Kurt and Jean are great to work with when I wanted to tweak the menu just a little. They gave great suggestions on how to make it better. Their staff was professional, timely and experienced.

The Victorian Room is the best kept secret in the Twin Cities. This family-run place netted rave reviews from those in attendace. From decor to food, Jean and team helped make our wedding perfect. Anyone having a wedding under 60 people should look no further. The other options are either more expensive or unpredictable in Minnesota weather. I would'nt have had it any other way.

Beware! They may be inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. The food was passable, but nothing special at all. The service though was awful! The bartender was SUPER rude! Also, the catering staff wasn’t much better and made you feel like you were being rushed out the door. As soon as most of your food was gone they were trying to take your plate away from you before you were done. Then they were taking everything off of the tables as soon as you stood up (water, glasses, FULL drinks, napkins, and even decorations!) The cake hadn’t even been served yet and they weren’t letting you keep anything. I had to get up to get a glass of water from the bar 3 times because they kept stealing my glass! The venue is small, but can be pretty for an intimate reception, but truly beware of the staff! Not worth it!

I went with K & J Catering for catering and staffing our bar because they were on our venue's pre-approved list. They've also catered a few work events my parents went to and my parents seemed to like their food. They were by far the most reasonably priced of the vendors on the venue's list. Food was buffet. The standout was the butternut squash ravioli. My little brother threw a fit because it was the one entree that we didn't have any leftovers of and he couldn't eat anymore. Jean was wonderful to work with. It was very easy to tell that she knows what she's doing. She allowed me to pick up linens ahead of time so that we could set up at the venue before they arrived and she was able to help me get our napkin color changed last minute. I would say the only downside was that sampling any of the food seemed to not be the norm. I thought it was mentioned when I first put down a deposit that they host tastings sometimes, but there was no mention later on and they only let you pick up frozen samples of things that they were already making for another event at that time. In the end, it didn't matter a huge amount--the food was great!

The food was amazing! Kurt and Jean were so helpful and nice. We were able to take our left overs home which was fantastic! Way more affordable than the other venues we considered.

We had our ceremony and reception at K&J Catering and we couldn't thank Kurt and Jean enough for the wonderful and excellent job they did to make our wedding dream come true. The service and food were beyond our expectations. We had a buffet style consisting of sliced angus sirloin and champagne chicken. The food was so delicious and we were lucky enough that we got to eat it the next day as well. We had so many compliments not only on the food but also on the venue. Everyone was so friendly and professional. We came all the way to Minnesota from Alaska and we were so happy and pleased that we chose K&J for our Minnesota wedding. We had guests from Minnesota, Alaska and Peru. They all loved the food. I would totally recommend K&J catering for your future events.

The Service and Food were amazing! We got so many compliments! I definitely suggest you hire these caterers immediately for your wedding. We even got to do a pre-tasting and take food home with us to help us select our menu. I am from out of town and they made my reception in MN amazing and stress free. Love these guys!

We did the value option through K&J, which allowed us to select 2 entrees and up to 5 sides from their value menu. Since we were paying for our whole wedding ourselves, we needed to save money anywhere we could. We discovered that (surprisingly) buffets tend to be cheaper than plated meals, and K&J only does buffets. Jean (owner) was so great to work with, very quick to respond to any requests. We got so many compliments from guests about how delicious the food was, and it really was! We did the honey glazed ham and turkey breast for our entrees with mashed potatoes, au gratin potatoes, and green beans. We ran out of potatoes, if that's any indication of how much people enjoyed the food! My favorite part was probably the fact that we got to keep the leftovers! We are still eating ham nearly 3 weeks later. Overall, I would highly recommend K&J for anyone who is on a budget but does not want to sacrifice quality. We had a little over 100 guests and our full total (with tax and grautity) was right around $2000. Not bad for the quality!

The food was beyond our expectations, the honey ham, and champagne chicken were done perfectly and we recieved many compliments from our friends and family on the food. I would recommend them. Our only regret is we left on our honeymoon right away and didn't get to savor the left overs

K & J Catering was affordable, delicious and Jean was easy to communicate with before the wedding. The day of the wedding the staff working our event were great. They were efficient, present and very respectful. They worked very independently but I appreciated that they also checked in with me to make sure what we had planned was still on time on the day of. The food was good on the day of the wedding, we had buffet style service, there was plenty for everyone and even leftovers to take home. The dishes and decorations the catering staff provided were also nice. I gave 4 stars because the food was a little salty for my taste, but I heard great things from guests and nothing was bad.

We had excellent homemade food! We had a buffet and had so many compliments on the food. Everyone was friendly and they had great customer service!

We had our reception at K&J in August, and it was WONDERFUL! Kurt really does all he can to make sure you have the best night. He even hung out with us during the reception. The food was delicious. This place is family-owned, so they do what they can to ensure a personal experience instead of just treating you like customers. Kurt was nice enough to drive our getaway car. It was awesome! I love these people, highly recommend this venue! Check it out! Also, they open their business on Friday nights during the car shows in N. St.Paul and you can test out some of the food. Delish!

K&J Catering did a great job for my wedding reception. The food was wonderful and many guests commented on how great the food tasted. The staff were very helpful at setting up for the reception and did a great job decorating the tables, serving, and cleaning up the food. They offer a big selection of food and table linens and center pieces. I would definately recommend K&J Catering to anyone!

After trying their food several times at their Friday night buffets, the only pre-wedding problem that my fiancé and I had was that it was all too delicious to choose! No matter what the selection, you will not be disappointed with the taste or quality. They are a real family owned business, and you can tell by the way they treat you. Our experience was wonderful, and my husband and I will continue to check out their buffet!
