Kane's Catering

I'm going to be honest - when I first met at Kane's main location, I was iffy on whether or not this was the right option. Don't let this deter you! The food was absolutely outstanding and I received several compliments throughout the night. Some even said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. The staff was professional, highly accommodating during the pandemic, and efficient in their service. My only qualm with Kane's is that, due to the pandemic, they were not allowed to leave desserts out. After serving the cupcakes I purchased through another vendor, they removed any uneaten cupcakes from the tables and disposed of them without my knowledge. It ended up being over $100 worth of cupcakes they had thrown out. I wish they would have offered a "last call" for cupcakes or let me know this was the plan rather than finding out after the fact. Some of my guests even complained that they cupcakes were taken away before they got to try them.

We hired Kane's for our August wedding and are so happy we did!!! From our first meeting with Jerry & Katie for our take home food tasting (they give you lots of food), planning throughout the process, to the catering of our special day, the entire experience was great!! Katie was available throughout the planning process to answer questions, ease our minds for changes due to covid, help plan the day of timeline, etc. The food was amazing and we received a lot of compliments from our guests! We would highly recommend Kane's for all of your catering needs!! Thank you Chef Jerry & Katie for making our day amazing!!!

Kane's was the absolute perfect choice to cater our wedding! From the first day we contacted them, they have given us the most perfect catering experience! The free tasting is a MUST and they sent us home with enough food fmto share with my parents! the most difficult part of the entire process was picking out what food to serve- which you really cannot go wrong with anything! Even after having to postpone our wedding due to COVID19, they were with us every step of the way! I truly cannot say enough amazing things! Please choose them to cater your wedding!

I had a great experience with Kane’s for my wedding. They helped throughout the process. I was able to try a bunch of different items that were all so delicious. Katie did a great job helping me plan and organize the day. They were easy to talk to and well priced for wonderful food and service!! We loved all of our food and they were able to accommodate all gluten free dinner meals to make things easier. They created a dairy free gluten free meal for one of my bridesmaids and the service was great. I loved all the food I ate, and so did my husband. The guests told us how great the food was too. I was really happy with Kane’s and would definitely recommend them! They are a small business and they are so awesome and delicious!!

Kane's was extremely easy to work with! They handle everything so well and we knew the food would be amazing. They allowed us to taste multiple items until we settled on something we really liked. They checked in with us the week of the wedding to confirm and even let us make last minute changes. We would highly recommend!

The food is INCREDIBLE!! I would have eaten more if I wasn't so full! From our very first bite at our tasting we knew that this was the food we wanted to serve to our guests. Everything was so full of flavor! It arrived at the venue with no problem. It was served warm and tasted exactly the same as the tasting. Our guests after their first bite would ask "who is this caterer?!" The service team was also fabulous they were great at communicating timeline updates to us. We also really enjoyed that our tasting was a "take-home" tasting. We were able to try the food and talk honestly about the food together without the pressure of the staff watching us eat hoping we loved it. We also connected really well with the staff and it made the process that much smoother!

I got married Aug 3rd and let me tell you I looooove Kanes!! They were awesome to work with. I changed my menu like 10 times and added late night snacks like 2 days before and no problem. The food was amazing and I did southern style food (Im Texan) and it was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better caterer. I would totally have them cater to any other big event we have. Lastly the staff was amazing. They made sure we were takin care of and were so nice to not only me and my now husband but all the guests as well.

Kane's did a great job, all of the food was amazing. We chose to go with a buffet which I was a little nervous about initially, but everyone had plenty of food and it all tasted incredible. We had a table of young children and Kane's not only had separate food for the kids, but brought it directly to the table and a snack brought out early so they didn't get hungry. They were very accommodating in helping us choose a menu and what would work best in the venue.

Our guests still can’t stop talking about how great the food was for our wedding! Kane’s knocked it out of the park! We decided on buffet style with a carving station and it’s a good thing we did because we had a lot of people return for seconds! All of my bridesmaids helped themselves to a second place stacked with the wild mushroom ravioli and half of them don’t even like mushrooms! Kane’s was very accommodating, they made sure to get our linens to our venue in advance so we could get started on decorating. Picking out our menu for the wedding was very accommodating as well. We tried two rounds of tastings to nail down our menu that we simply picked up and brought home to try! No wonder Kane’s has been in business so long, they really know what they’re doing!

Working with Kane's was a great experience! They were super relaxed and made the whole process really easy. I did the mid-level taco buffet and it was great! I got a lot of positive feedback from guests.

Kane's did a marvelous job catering our 25th Gala celebration. The food was delicious - rave reviews from attendees. The staff were professional, friendly and efficient. We would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to others.

Kane's Catering catered our wedding social hour and reception at the Landmark Center in Saint Paul. They did an AMAZING job!!! Even from the beginning, they truly made us feel like we were top priority. They were very accommodating to our wishes and were great at answering the many questions we had throughout the planning process. The food was amazing!!! We were very picky about the food we wanted for our day and Kane's did not disappoint. We served the champagne chicken, six pepper tenderloin tips, cheesy hash browns, rice pilaf, and a great assortment of veggies. The meat was so good and kept very well, despite us doing a buffet. We were very nervous that the meat was going to be dry, but it was far from that! The cheesy hash brown were definitely the hit of the night!! Every guest we have talked to about our wedding have raved about the hash browns. The day-of service was wonderful as well! I would HIGHLY recommend Kane's catering for those looking for great food and for a great price!! Thanks Jerry, Beth, and the rest of the Kane's Catering crew for the amazing experience!!

Not the best customer service. I asked for their prices for my wedding an hour outside of the cities. We were hoping for a one caterer to handle all food (apps, dinner, dessert, late night). Their response was, they would require at least $100 delivery fee and a 200 min guest count. Followed by 'otherwise it is just honestly not worth going that far.' This is without asking our guest count (which is 200+). Personally, I would have approached my inquiry if I was on the receiving end with a more customer focused approach. But truthfully I never tried their food or experienced their catering because I never got the chance :)

Picking Kane's for our wedding was one of the best decisions we ever made! The food is so delicious. All of our guests loved it. They're a family run business and you feel like a part of their family when you come in for a tasting and work with them leading up to your event. They're also very flexible. We had some last minute additions and Jerry reassured us this it wasn't a big deal and that he could make it work. They're also very reasonably priced compared to other vendors. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer!

Love Kane's! They are professional, honest, and create amazing food. Guests are still asking me about the food 6+ weeks later.

Kane's was one of several options we had to select from based on our wedding venue. It was the first tasting we went to and the last. After leaving we ended up cancelling all our others. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and Jerry and Janet are both friendly and willing to answer any and all questions as well as accommodate any needs you may have. For example we had cheesecake cupcakes for dessert (from another vendor) and Kane's allowed us to use their cupcake stands free of charge, saved us so much money not having to rent them from the cupcake company. I made, what felt like, many changes up until a week before our wedding and Jerry was always quick to reply and accommodate those changes. We had many compliments the night of our wedding on the food. With many options and customizations we would happily recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer for their event.

I had an awesome experience with Kane’s. From the teste test to the wedding day, everything ran smoothly, the food was delicious; the staff was professional and flexible to fit our wedding schedule. They were so helpful, and that was much less stressful for me, because they were so reliable, and great to work with! I recommend them for anyone looking for a great caterer!!!

The food was delicious! The staff were friendly and easy to work with! They cover all tables with white table clothes (even if you forget to mention one) They knew the venue so they could help us plan the flow of the night. Great!

INCREDIBLE food! I highly recommend Kane's. We had them cater our wedding and received multiple compliments on the appetizers and dinner. Kane's was great to work with and had some really nice food suggestions that we loved. Their staff did a great job of set up and serving. My wife and I were very pleased with Kane's!

My biggest fear in planning my wedding was "is everyone going to like the food?". I remember going to weddings and hearing everyone at the table critique the food and I just wanted everyone to like what we were having. Turns out, I didn't have to worry about that at all! Everyone I worked with at Kane's was extremely helpful. We were planning our wedding from out of state so we weren't able to go in or taste anything but everyone was super responsive to our emails and questions. I loved that they didn't charge extra for cake cutting (they didn't provide the cake) and provided late night snack mix for free. One thing I thought was a little odd was that I had to provide the cocktail napkins for happy hour since we were doing linen napkins for dinner (why they couldn't bring those I do not know); but I got a package of 4,000 cocktail napkins from Costco for $10 so wasn't a big deal, just another errand I had to run. I received numerous compliments from all our guests on how delicious the food was and the best part...they packaged up and we got to take home all the leftovers!! Yumm.

This is late coming as my wedding was on January 2, 2015, but I felt compelled to write a review of Kane's Catering. They were absolutely amazing! The food tasted excellent, they were so wonderful to work with, they were able to provide a ton of suggestions for me when I wasn't sure what to do for beverages. They were so accommodating and wonderful to work with! I never felt that I was inconveniencing them with any of my questions. The staff at the event were all so incredibly attentive and so kind. They even kept some hor d'vours for the wedding party and put them on our table after our grand entrance so we were able to try the food that we picked out. Though I didn't get to try it, I heard RAVE reviews of the hot chocolate at our hot chocolate bar. I would absolutely recommend Kane's Catering to anyone. I would also consider using them to cater other events in the future. Highly, recommend!

SO AMAZING! Great family-owned business with delicious, affordable food. My husband (eeeee!) and I were looking for simple, delicious, home-style food and Kane's totally nailed it. My guests were raving!

The food was sooooo good! Somehow light and satisfyingly filling at the same time. From the salad to the entree the food was to die for. The owners are very sweet, as well as the staff. Kane's will not disappoint.

Kane's catering just catered our wedding two weeks ago and people are still raving over the food! The food was avsolutely amazing, Jerry even made custom desserts to fit our Apple orchard theme. The staff worked hard and served everyone with our plated meal quickly. I 100% recommend Kane's not only for the food and outstanding price but for the kindness and great values that the mother-son team share.

Kane's came recommended by a couple friends who had each used them for their weddings and loved them. Kane's did not disappoint. They provided great services from start to finish. Their small location on the eastside of St. Paul is a little strange- you'll meet with one of the Kane's (yes, it's a family owned and run business) for your tasting. They gave us food to take home and were happy to let us pick up a couple other dishes to sample at a later date. We did a buffet style meal with champagne chicken, pork loin with apple glaze, vegetable alfredo, mixed roasted potatoes and the strawberry salad. I have to admit that I hardly remember eating on my wedding day, but I was able to take home the leftovers and it was good the next day. The meat does dry out some, but overall feedback I got from family and friends was positive. Kane's service is top notch. The lead server kept things running smoothly, made sure she knew who my personal attendant was so she could go to her with questions or concerns, and was friendly, but direct and to the point. I could not have asked for better service from her or any of the staff that day/ night. This is probably the top reason I would recommend Kane's. The second is price. They sent me a pricing sheet and their costs actually ended up being less- plus they threw in a free passed appetizer! While I didn't do any other tastings, I did compare pricing to other caterers and Kane's was by far the most reasonable. I love that Kane's is a family run business that doesn't nickle and dime you because it's a wedding. Use them for their service, expect decent food for the price, and walk away happy.

From Day 1 Kane's Catering was phenomenal. They are easy to work with, their food is incredible, and they were affordable (We had a wedding of 300, so this was a must). The first time my mother-in-law and I went to meet with them in person Jerry cooked a meal for us right in the company kitchen. After we ate, we went over wedding details with Janet and she helped us decide on a preliminary menu. Jerry then emailed us a quote within the week. One thing that we greatly appreciated was that we gave them an estimated number of guests and that number could be changed up to a week before the wedding. Other caterers we spoke to required a minimum guest count at the time of booking and if you went below that, you would pay for the extra meals. The day of the wedding they showed up early and began to set tables and place linens where they were needed. They handled appetizers and dinner incredibly smoothly and someone even stayed until the end of the event to help clean up and box up any leftovers (these were amazing at the hotel later). For 300 guests, we used a double buffet and this proved to be very efficient in getting everyone through the line. We were amazed at the fact that we got delicious food at such a great price; all while receiving strong service. Throughout the entire process they were very friendly and helpful and made this huge part of a wedding, very simple. We would recommend Kane's to everyone!!

This is a home grown, family operated business. They were very easy to communicate with. The food was good. It didn't blow my mind, but everyone at the wedding enjoyed their meal. I especially liked the beef tips, ham with raisin dressing and sautéed veggies. I recommend them for your wedding!

I highly recommend Kanes Catering. Their food was amazing and everyone loved it!!! We ordered Champagne chicken and ham along with their famous Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. All the food was delicious…..in fact our guests went back for seconds and the chicken was completely eaten and there was very little ham left over. The staff working at our wedding were very pleasant and fun to work with. The tables were beautiful and everything we discussed prior to the wedding was done. Kanes also borrowed us their cupcake holders for free and they were perfect for the cupcakes and looked very elegant. Janet, Thanks for all the time you spent with me on the phone clarifying and answering all my questions. Jerry, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly on some of my other questions through emails and the delicious meal you made for our guests. It was a pleasure working with Kanes Catering. Kane's was one of the ways that we saved on wedding costs - BIG time. Their prices were incredibly reasonable. We ended up paying right around $4,700 for 170 people, which included 3 passed appetizers and a huge buffet with 3 different entrees (and the gratuity and our hall's 12% "fee"). Their service was good - Jerry was very responsive to my emails, they were willing to let us use their cupcake stands free of charge, and they delivered the linens to the hall in advance for us so that we could set up. My only issue was when Janet called me up and told me that she "forgot" about our wedding, which caused a moment of panic. Also, the wait staff on the night of the wedding was WONDERFUL. Several waiters made sure that my groom and I got to try all of the food, they boxed up the top of our cake for us, they were attentive to our guests, and they were all just very sweet and congratulatory. Also, we got to take home all of the leftovers, which our visiting relatives ate for DAYS.

Janet helped us create a customized menu of exactly what we desired- including served appetizers, late night sandwiches, waiter-passed wine, and dinner. They were easy to work with, the price was right, and the food was excellent!

Kane's Catering was fantastic! The food was delicious, the cost was reasonable, and unlike most other catering companies that we spoke with, we got to take the leftover food home with us. That added bonus made us feel like we weren't wasting money on uneaten food. I would recommend Kane's for anyone looking to cater their special event.

I can't thank them enough for the great job. They worked with us from out of town and even made 2 local ethnic dished for us at no additional cost that tasted so good despite them never having made it before. I would highly recommend them!

I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience that we had with Kane's Catering! To be honest, I got estimates from ten different companies and we chose 5 to go to tastings at. Kane's pricing was definitely in the lower end which actually made me concerned with the quality that they would be providing. After meeting with Jerry and Janet we realized that Kane's is certainly high quality but they do not take advantage of people by cranking the price up (which most vendors do as soon as they hear it is for a wedding). We quickly came to the conclusion to use Kane's after the tasting - the food is DELICIOUS (and there are many options to choose from). Throughout our planning process Jerry and Janet worked with me to ensure that everything was done to our desires and that we were completely prepared. I had zero worries going into the wedding day that something with the catering would be off - and it wasn't, everything was perfect! Staff was friendly and professional just as they should be, and the food was incredible. I can't even tell you how many guest's told my husband and I that they LOVED the food.... and I'm pretty sure my brother got fourths... Thank you!!!!

We used Kane's for our reception last month and had a great experience! I love that they are a family-owned smaller company...I really felt it was a more personal experience and they really took time to listen to what we wanted. AND the food was amazing! Our guests are still telling us how delicious it was. We opted for the buffet and the options were so tasty. We really were happy with everything! (And are still eating some of the left overs that we froze--YUM!)

We went and did a tasting for food for our wedding at Kanes. Janet & Jerry were extremely nice to work with. The food at the tasting was well seasoned and tasted good. The food we got at the wedding on the other hand was terrible! Our guests complained the baked chicken was tough. The pasta had NO flavor. Even the mashed potatoes were bland. They were wonderful to work with but sadly the food was the worst part of our wedding :( Everyone that we talked to said the food was the worst part of our wedding. We knew something would go wrong but we never expected the food to be such a let down. We ended up having a ton of food left because nobody even wanted to go back for more. Enchiladas were one of our choices too and people weren't sure if it was lasagna or what. You couldn't even pick it up - it just fell apart and was a big mess :(

Kane's Catering was a great vendor to work with! They are family owned, which made it feel so personal. I felt really comfortable telling them exactly what I wanted and they will literally do almost anything for you. They setup a wonderful tasting for us before we decided we were going with them and they let us bring 4 people which I thought was great. All of the food was fantastic! We had 3 different kinds of pasta along with salad, bread, herb roasted baby reds and mixed veggies. We also had 3 appetizers (meatballs, bruschetta and chicken skewers). All of which were amazing. Our guests were raving about the food! On the wedding day, we had nothing to worry about in terms of the food and cutlery. They setup and tear down everything. It was great!

I thought Kane's did a great job at my June 23rd wedding, and I would highly recommend them. Food: As the bride, I didn't have time to eat much, but what I did eat really pleased me. The appetizers and main course were quite good, and the guests kept complimenting it. I also asked a few closer friends and family members, and they were also able to tell me honestly that they hadn't heard anything bad. Service: Again, I was unable to really monitor the quality of service, but when I did notice the staff, they were attentive and quick to clean up. They were dressed professionally and were courteous. Value: I thought Kane's was a great value!! I didn't find another caterer who offered a better value than Kane's!

Were wonderful to work with from beginning to end. Food at other weddings I have been to are always sub par, but Kane's was delicious and unique. We had mainly vegetarian appetizer menu and everything was presented beautifully. Even the carnivores loved the food! Staff onsite the entire time and were great to work with, even included packing the food at the end of the night. They are wonderful and are highly recommended.

Kane's was a wonderful choice for our catering service. Not only was the food delicious, but the staff was easy to work with and very pleasant. AND we got to keep all the left overs, which not every catering company provides. Wonderful!

The food was delicious! As the bride and groom, we didn't get to eat much of it because we kept getting pulled away. The staff offered new hot meals to us when we did have a chance to sit and eat. The food was great! Many guests asked who catered and commented that it was the best food they had ever had a wedding! Jerry is great to work with and helps ensure you have everything you expected for the day of. The tasting was one of our highlights of wedding planning because each dish was delicious, we had a hard time choosing! Service was good, plated dinners, presentation was beautiful too. They were more than happy to set out the menus at each placesetting as well. I could not believe the quality and taste of the food!

I picked Kane's for my wedding, because my mom and brother had both used Kane's for their wedding. I am so happy I made this decision. The food was delicious. Prior to the wedding, I was insistent that we not have chicken at the wedding because wedding chicken always seems dry. Janet Kane convinced me that their chicken would be a good idea, and she was correct. The chicken was delicious! All the food was great, and my guests raved about the food for weeks after the wedding. If you can bring in a caterer, I would highly suggest Kane's.

Kane's did a wonderful job. From the time we tasted their food until after the reception, everything was great! The food was delicious, there was plenty to eat, the price is really reasonable, and they just have really great customer service! No complaints; I would definitely use them again!

Janet Kane was very easy to work with. The food was absolutely fabulous, and the cost did not put our wedding budget too high out of reach for the reception that we wanted.

It does not get better than Kane's! Working with Jerry Kane and his mother was a real pleasure, and my husband and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The tasting was PHENOMENAL, and they made us feel welcomed and at home. And best of all, they were willing to work with us to make our reception meal out of this world! Pulled pork sandwiches, beef tenderloin, mac and cheese, corn on the cob, potato salad, cole slaw, fried potato wedges, and watermelon never tasted so good!! And the price was UNBELIEVABLE! Not only was their food the best, but so was there service and their cost. I would recommend Kane's to anyone over and over again. And my husband and I aren't the only ones who loved the food...all of our guests raved about it, saying it was the best wedding food they had ever had. Some guests went back for thirds and fourths! You will not be disappointed with Kane's - I promise! And a little side note: Some catering companies don't allow you to keep the leftovers, but Kane's wrapped ours up for us and let us have them. They were great the next day, too!

We loved our caterer. Jerry promptly responded to our e-mails and changes. They were very easy to work with. The cost per plate was so reasonable. We choose the buffet option, which worked out great for us! Many guests commented on how great the food was. More than one person said it was the best they had ever had!

The food was delicious, the service at the wedding was fabulous as well as how they worked with us before the day with planning. I lived out of town and they were WONDERFUL to us with setting up times to meet at different hours and being flexible with everything that we wanted.

Kane's Catering provided great food and excellent service. They are very well priced, in comparison to many others, but still have great selections and flavorful, good food! From the minute we stepped in the door for our first tasting to the second we walked out of the reception at the end of the wedding, they provided excellent service. We had many questions along the way, and they made sure they were answered, with patience. They made sure there was more than enough food and packaged up leftovers, both in the tastings and after the reception. We even had a few candle decorations out of place, that I hadn't gotten time to get to, and they made sure to find the parts missing and incorporate them into the table decor. It was all absolutely amazing. My sister also used them for her wedding and I have recommended them to others, as I will continue to do.
