Kate's Table ~ Catering & Events

I really feel inadequate in my ability to be emphatic enough about how amazing Kate's Table is. From the planning stages to the execution, they were amazingly phenomenal! Chronologically: While in the nebulous stage of wedding planning, I met with several china/tent vendors and asked them if they had any recommendations for caterers... Kate's Table came up a few times. I hadn't heard of them so I looked them up. Turned out Kate had previously worked at three of my favorite Boston restaurants! I did more research and liked the sound of their menu. In fact, I liked it far better than any other caterer I had researched. So I scheduled a tasting. I battled with my Mom because she wanted me to use her caterer (this fact will be important later). I went to my tasting, despite my mother's disapproval, with my fellow foodie friend in tow to help me make the right choices. To begin with, they served me everything I wanted to try. It was more than someone should ask for in a tasting. I should have pared it down. Nonetheless, they were very kind and made all the things I wanted to try. BLOWN AWAY. Really, the tasting was that good. The best food I've ever eaten. The. Best. Food.- can't say it enough. I was trying to eliminate items and found I couldn't-everything was just too delicious. My fellow foodie friend was similarly stymied and couldn't find fault with any of the dishes. We ate... and LOVED everything. I had/have a fantasy of being an apprentice under Kate and learning what she knows about food. While planning through the next few months, I called Kate's Table and asked for their help finding other vendors. This was not at all their job, and this was way above and beyond, but Kelly (my contact there) again kindly helped me find both my DJ and my loo rental. Most importantly though was the day of the wedding. They arrived and were so calm, cool, and professional. They rolled with very last minute seating rearrangements, and worse. I had an uninvited guest show up...who insisted on a vegetarian AND gluten-free dish. What?! Somehow not a problem for them! I didn't even know about these dietary restriction he imposed until after the wedding-they didn't bother me with it, they just handled it perfectly and professionally. Additionally, they saw a need for more lighting when it got dark and hung beautiful glass globes with candles to light a pathway for the guests. (It looked like a fairyland, so pretty.) Again, so far above and beyond what they had to do. The guests all raved about the food. Everyone asked for the name of the caterer. And now, when my Mom needs a caterer, guess who she calls? Yep, Kate's Table!
