I engaged with Katie's company, Kateworks of Norco, California, for the design and creation of my wedding invitations, and unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of dreadful. The service provided by Katie and Kateworks was abysmal from start to finish. Not only were the invitations of poor quality, but the customer service was even worse. The invitations, promised to be delivered within a reasonable timeframe, arrived nearly four weeks late, and shockingly, after the RSVP date listed on the invitations. Despite my persistent attempts to reach out to Katie and Kateworks regarding the status of the invitations, every attempt was met with silence. I made numerous phone calls, sent multiple emails, and even offering to travel a considerable distance to her address in Norco to pick up the invitations. All efforts were flippantly ignored. This negligence persisted despite my explicit communication about the urgency, especially concerning international mailings. Upon receiving the invitations, it was immediately apparent that the quality was far below expectations. Many were marred with ink blotches, and the envelopes provided were not the custom-designed ones agreed upon. Attempting to address these issues with Kateworks only led to further frustration. My wedding planner also tried to intervene to no avail. Katie and Kateworks eventually provided a response, stating that the company was no longer in business. This statement was patently false, and appears to have been made for the purpose of retaining funds to which they were not entitled. My experience with Kateworks and Katie was utterly disappointing and distressing. The lack of professionalism, disregard for deadlines, and overall poor quality of service were unacceptable. Kateworks and Katie received $4,000 in exchange for their contractual obligation to create custom designed letter pressed invitations and envelopes. Kateworks and Katie failed to perform their duties under the contract, and failed to remedy the breach and/or return the funds. As a result of this breach, there are actionable claims against Katie and Kateworks for fraud, breach of contract, and other claims under the California Business and Professions Code, that I intend to bring. I nevertheless owe it to others to inform them of this fraudulent business. I do not wish this experience upon anyone else (except for Katie, herself). I emphatically and unequivocally do not recommend the services of Katie, Kateworks, and or any other related business entity that Katie operates under.
