found Katy. We talked to a few different local planners, but we just really clicked with Katy, and she was (luckily) within our budget range. We also wanted to be sure our planner was LGBT-friendly, and that can be difficult to find in Appalachia. Katy was never less than wonderful, and it was a delight to have her coordinate our wedding. Not only did she keep everything running so smoothly that we wound up ahead of schedule at one point, but she also helped keep us organized for the last month or so before the big day. Katy was always pleasant, professional, and one of the hardest-working people we’ve ever met. She was easy to work with and willing to adapt to our somewhat unconventional work schedules. We would not hesitate to hire her again. She was the right amount of present-but-in-the-background the day of our wedding, and it was so incredible to not stress that things were going to keep running without our intervention. Our advice? If you think you can have a wedding without some sort of coordinator for at least the day of, you can’t. Our head count was around 30 people, including the wedding party, and it still would have been a mess without her help. If you’re planning a wedding somewhere in the WV-NC area, Katy should be your top pick.

from day one, but I was so excited to hear my bridal party and family rave about her too. They felt taken care of, heard, and Katy went out of her way to make sure everyone was as prepared as possible (which I’m sure was not the easiest task as we had quite large wedding parties :)). Katy had our day planned out down to the minute, which I’m sure you could expect from many wedding planners. But Katy was dealt with an absolute last minute change of plans due to a severe thunderstorm that rolled in right as we were supposed to be married on the rooftop of a brewery. Katy transitioned our wedding inside with only an hour until guests arrived. And it was PERFECT. We chose our venue because of the beautiful rooftop. I would have never made the decision to move our wedding indoors. But Katy made our indoor ceremony so perfect that I am SO glad it rained and we were forced to move indoors. It was more than I could have ever asked for and I will be forever grateful!!! I was at ease and completely free from decision making all night - it was an absolute dream. My family and friends are still raving about her to this day. Truly, truly, you will not find someone better than Katy. ❤️

Her attention to detail was AMAZING and my wedding went so smoothly. (Apparently there were a few day-of issues, but Katy handled them quickly and I didn't find out until later!) My best advice for planning a wedding is HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER! My second piece of advice is to hire Kathryn Rose Event Co!!
