KC’s DJ Service and Uplighting

KC was originally hired in December 2022 to provide uplighting and music for my entire ceremony. I tried emailing, texting, and calling the week of my wedding for October 7th and heard nothing. After researching and finding out he had health issues, multiple lawsuits and complaints and likely wouldn't show or would outsource services, we terminated the contract and found someone else. I don't expect my deposit money back because our contract was terminated the day before the wedding, but I would have appreciated an email or text months or even days before my wedding about his health. He did respond the day before my wedding saying what money was due, but at that point, I had found another DJ. The stress was not necessary. Brides/Grooms look elsewhere, or terminate your contract if you have one. It isn't worth your special day.

I want to second this.. unfortunately I also didn’t know about KCs DJ being like this. We booked them in 2022 and they had 5 star reviews then. They cancelled on our wedding day and fortunately we were saved by an amazing DJ that was willing to travel to us. We have yet to hear back from anyone about a refund and now you can’t even search them as a page on Facebook anymore. If you have this company or if you know of a bride/groom that has booked them please get another one because most likely they will not show.

Horrible. Emailed me 2 hours prior to my wedding ceremony saying he can’t make it to the ceremony and the back up will be late to cocktail hour. No call, just an email. When I tried reaching out no one would answer the phone. The back up DJ arrived wearing a white tshirt and red basketball shorts. Had no information on any of our songs (first dance, reception entrances, etc). Paid EXTRA for uplighting and monogram and didn’t get it. Had to basically walk the back up dj through the whole process. He even called me by the incorrect name. (Which I understand because he wasn’t even supposed to be there in the first place). Now no one has responded to me about any sort of refund. STAY AWAY!!!!

Do not use, he sub contracted the job to a couple who didn’t get the call until an hour and a half before he was supposed to be there. My brother paid for a deluxe package and did not receive it, everyone was late to the wedding, the owner will not answer his phone, he will take your money and screw you over. Do not use this piece of shit.

0 Stars, no wonder he has multiple lawsuits against him, wish I knew before we paid him, he sent 2 DJs in his stead and paid them WAYYYY LESS than the money we gave him. AVOID KEN CUNNINGHAM AT ALL COSTS!!!! My photog knew him and he owes her $1500++ and the DJs he sent were not even paid in full and they threatened to leave. FUCK YOU KEN!

DO NOT HIRE HIM. He has a lawsuit against him and did not show up for our wedding.

Everything was going ok until day of the wedding….he messaged and said there was an emergency and someone else was coming but would be there by 3….our wedding was at 4 and the guy didn’t show up until 345 and had no idea what was going on….no photo booth, monogram, or uplighting that I paid the extra for….messaged 3 times with no response go figure….very very disappointing and I won’t be recommending him to anyone…

If I could give 0 stars I would. Almost a year before our wedding day, I signed a contract with Ken stating he will mic our ceremony but will need to bring a generator as it was an outdoor ceremony. I found out 20 minutes before the ceremony that they did not bring a generator and did not mic the ceremony. No apologies and also- no refund! We payed for this to be mic’d and haven’t heard a word back from this company. So gross I would never use them again.

Awful. Takes your money and runs. Will not return calls or emails. He does not honor the signed contract. Do not hire.

DO NOT BOOK “KC’s dj service”. He is unreliable and will not answer your communication or questions. He will make excuses for why he couldn’t answer or get your wedding timeline done. and when you request a refund - because he decided to ghost you 4 days before your wedding with excuses on why nothings done - he will deny the request because you canceled (bc he didn’t answer) and it’s against your contract. He will tell you if you pursue legal action or anything else it will be considered harassment. NEVER book with this guy!!! Help repost this. AND HE WILL BLOCK YOU ON SOCIAL MEDIA SO YOU CANT REVIEW HIS PAGE!

As a type A bride, I did everything in my power to plan to the last detail and was very cautious when booking vendors. I had heard great things about KC DJ & even attended 2 events where they performed - so I booked them. Unfortunately, our experience was not as great. First, let me start off by saying the lack of communication and professionalism is ASTOUNDING. For a company with many years of experience, you would think communication would be a great skill. I had messaged the owner via email 2x for confirmation for our wedding with no response. Following this, I sent 2 messages (shown below), and never received an email back with any questions regarding the documents provided. My documents included timeline, playlists, entrances, what to do, how to do it, literally everything they needed - but the DJs the night of our wedding acted clueless like they didn’t know what my coordinator was talking about. On top of this - the morning of the wedding I still had not received full confirmation from the owner regarding the services that night. My coordinator called 3 TIMES and was sent directly to voicemail. After we finally got a call back - I was hopeful the DJs for our wedding knew what they were doing and had all the information- I was incorrect. The music I had on the sheet for dinner was not played nor did the DJs announce my husband and I correctly during our entrances. It was like the DJs had no idea what they were doing nor what the plan was. Not only this, but I specifically requested help in dismissing tables for food - as said in the questionnaire - but the DJ rudely refused. He brought up their phone - showing that my coordinator was “wrong”. In the pictures below, I included the documentation they had - showing there were indeed supposed to help with this. None of the special dances were played as well. I’m not sure where miscommunication came from as I did everything in my power to provide detailed plans, outlines, and instructions via email and confirmed they did receive them via text. I am disappointed in the service provided and have reached out on multiple platforms including email and text to receive some form of communication and apology - yet it has been radio silence.

I was so excited to book this service until the day of the wedding with all the stuff they messed up. They didn’t have our lights we ordered, the name display we ordered, they played the wrong first dance song, he didn’t want to give a mic to our officiant and we had to get him for everything. For the ceremony we wanted a mic so everyone can hear- the dj Charlie told my officiant to just speak loudly. Before we even signed the contract we made sure they could accommodate outside. After some convincing he finally set it up. I am extremely disappointed and don’t know why we picked a place that didn’t have what they promised. I would not recommend.

Everyone that I worked with was amazing! My questions were always answered in a timely matter and everyone was so friendly. Our DJ had everyone dancing all night long and the Photo Booth attendee was so sweet and kept the line moving. I will absolutely recommend them to any and all of my friends and family!

Sarge was our DJ he did an amazing job! Lots of fun and kept everyone on the dance floor! I would highly recommend!

Sarge was assigned as our wedding DJ and did not disappoint. From the first video conference, you can tell that he loves to DJ and you're his number one priority. He had awesome song recommendations and went above and beyond to make sure things ran smoothly and everyone had a great time. 10/10 recommend.

KC’s DJ service was excellent and professional. Their setup was elegant and fit in perfectly. Communication throughout was superb and Ken was very flexible through the changes of a pandemic wedding. The audio for our ceremony was perfect as was the sound for all of our wedding speeches and toasts. They allowed us to be very hands-on on the music choices (which unfortunately did lead me to request/play a 9-minute Macarena). It let us have the perfect blend of American and Hispanic music which was a big concern of ours as an bi-cultural couple. We were able to dance the night away thanks to KC’s DJ service. They were so reasonably priced that I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for a great DJ at a great value.

If you are looking for a DJ service that is experienced, professional, and creates a vibe that every crowd can connect with- this is the company to go with! Leading up to the big day, communication was great! The DJ had things covered that we didn’t even think of. Which took much pressure off of us! Our reception was absolutely epic! The best time! Again, Ken just read the crowd. We have been married 4 years now and people STILL rave about our reception! Much credit to this DJ service!

Ken was wonderful to work with and did a fabulous job as the DJ for our wedding! He followed our instructions perfectly and did a great job finding special song requests, even for some pretty obsure songs. Our guests even commented on how much they enjoyed the music - they were on the dance floor all night! We'd highly recommend working with Ken and KC's DJ Service.

I can't say enough great things about KC's DJ Service! Ken was very responsive, respectful, and flexible from day 1, they helped accommodate a few off the wall requests, and our actual DJ Jason was phenomenal! He kept the flow of the wedding going perfectly even with last minute changes, and was so personable we really enjoyed his presence and talent!

Ken was very professional and helpful every step of the way! The DJ who worked our ceremony and reception provided flawless cues during the ceremony and reception and got everyone on the dance floor all night long! We were complimented by multiple guests on what a fantastic job the DJ did. Thank you!
