The pros list for Kellari is short:
We fell in love with Kellari at our tasting. Dimitris, the manager, was so kind, the food was delicious, the service was incredible. We were so excited and emailed to book the next day.
That's where the pros list ends.
Over the next few months we had some trouble and miscommunications booking with Jessica in the corporate office, but going into the evening of the wedding we had no particular reason for concern.
We arrived at the restaurant to learn that the room had been set up completely wrong, and so the start of our dinner was delayed 45 minutes while they rearranged the room.
The dinner involves several courses, and we waited for another 45 minutes between the salad and the entrees, despite being assured that the food was "coming out soon". Despite our contract being from 6-9pm, all of the restaurant's delays resulted in us not leaving until 11:30pm, missing the majority of the after party we had planned and losing the deposit at the after party venue.
In addition to lots of other small mistakes (food being cold, guests receiving the wrong dinner, our photographer and videographer not receiving their meals until we had to track down management and ask for them, etc), the biggest headache of the evening was...the bill.
Kellari only asks for a deposit, and leaves the balance of the bill to be settled at the end of the event. This is a horrible idea. When they finally brought the bill to us at the end of the evening, it was nearly $400 more than our contract price. Upon my husband pointing out the numerous errors in the bill to the manager, George, George was rude, and uncooperative. There isn't space here to outline the long list of ways he insulted my husband and our family and tried to cheat us on the night of our wedding.
Ultimately, we were delayed nearly an additional hour because of George's rudeness and incompetence. I ended up in tears at the bar, watching all of this go on. My husband spent what should have been one of the happiest nights of his life being yelled at by the manager.
We emailed Kellari's corporate office after the wedding to follow up on the over charge, the delays, and the horrible service we received. Jessica , while initially apologetic, quickly adopted the same underhanded, uncompromising tone we encountered with George and denied that the company owed us any kind of refund. She kept promising to call or email back, and we wouldn't hear from her and would have to track her down for an update. After several exchanges over email and telephone, we finally were transferred back to Dimitris, who apologized and assured us that a refund was due to us shortly.
We still haven't received our refund, but needless to say, although Kellari's food is good (and some of their servers are great), their events team and some of their management are never to be trusted with one of the biggest events of your life. Avoid them at all costs.
