Having our wedding at the Kellogg Center ended up being a great choice! The fact that they are able to take care of so many aspects of the ceremony and reception, rather than needing a dozen different vendors, was key for us (we were planning our wedding from out of state). They were very responsive to our questions and very accommodating from start to finish. The East Patio ceremony was beautiful, and the various rooms for the reception were great as well! Our guests loved the food too! Last but not least, the Kellogg being a hotel as well where guests could stay on site made coordination very easy. Highly recommend!
The Kellogg Center was the perfect place for our reception. Everyone did fantastic! The staff were so wonderful and helpful! I received so many compliments, including the amazing bartender, wait staff, and the food was so delicious. Highly recommend!
After reading all these awesome reviews, I was excited to have my wedding ceremony here as it seemed like a stress free location with great communication. That was not the experience I had. Although I would always receive prompt answers via email, I only met with the wedding coordinator three months before the wedding and had minimal communication after that. I wish we would have met at least the week of the wedding so I knew what to expect the day of. Further, at our tasting we were told that the champagne toast would be honored as part of our package since it was included when we signed our contract. However, there was not a champagne toast included for the guests, only myself and my groom. No one communicated to us where our boxes were for clean up at the end of the night and ky charger plates were returned cracked and had food caked on the edges. Overall, my guests had great things to say but communication was lacking and I didn’t feel like my wedding was important to the staff.
We could not recommend this venue enough. The entire staff at Kellogg is absolutely wonderful. Our July 2021 wedding had to be rescheduled multiple times due to Covid. We received consistent, clear, and helpful communication throughout the process. We felt extremely grateful that our venue was so flexible and patient. They were willing to rework and re-plan our wedding multiple times to try and accomodate us! When the event was finally given the green light, they went above and beyond to ensure we had a flawless day, from start to finish. Taylor and the entire events crew worked tirelessly to bring our vision to life and because of their efforts, I felt very relaxed and prepared on my big day. One thing I really appreciated is that Kellogg offers a turn-key service. They took care of our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, dinner, brunch, and hotel accomodations. It felt really easy and seamless when it all came together. We got so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful the grounds were, how delicious the food was, and how convenient it was to stay right there at the hotel. We truly had the perfect wedding, thanks to everyone at Kellogg!
Taylor,
Andy and I thought the reception was executed flawlessly. The team "supervisor" ensured that Andy and I had a nice Pinot Grigio wine supply when she found out that it was our wine preference. The waitstaff were attentive in water refills, and any other requests. Austin, the "bartender," even located a martini glass after our guests had left to make a member of our "wedding party" a martini that he had been looking forward to before arriving at the event.
Overall, Andy and I would "rate" you, your staff, and your product offerings "5 stars!" The filet mignon was thick and grilled perfectly! Yum! We will recommend you and the Kellogg Center to any of our friends or acquaintances who ask!
Thanks again, Taylor, for making our post-wedding reception the wonderful event that it was! Hope to see you again in the future!
Sincerely,Â
David & Andy
We cannot say enough great things about having our cocktail hour and reception at the Kellogg Center. Working with Taylor was a breeze. She was communicative, prompt in her answers, and so unbelievably helpful. There are a million things to keep track of when planning a wedding, but working with Taylor made the planning process so much easier. Everything is explained with detail, and she thought of answers to questions I didn't even think to ask. Beyond this, the service during the reception was exceptional. Multiple guests remarked at how attentive and great the wait staff was. Additionally, the food was phenomenal.
You will regret it if they're booked on the day you want! We got married at the MSU Alumni Chapel with reception at the Kellogg Center. We wanted a smaller intimate wedding with higher end food, drink, and service. And we got it! We almost increased our guest list to be larger just because we also loved the larger newly remodeled banquet room options! We were shocked to find out they were an all-inclusive venue and I'd never do it any other way! What a weight off my shoulders. Everything from set up and linens to food and open bar service was included. They even set up our additional personal decorations, which stunned me! I think I was the most stress-free bride the day of my wedding because I had ZERO set up to do. We had the most perfect day, much thanks to the Kellogg Center staff, particularly the wedding coordinator, Taylor. She made sure everything was exactly how we imagined and was above and beyond kind and accommodating. With the amount of personal attention we received, you'd have thought we were the only couple getting married that year! We were even more pleased the day of the wedding as everything went like clockwork. The service staff was impressive and really elevated our dinner experience. We still have people talking about how amazing the meal was! Having the venue also be a hotel with attached garage was very convenient for guests and gave us peace of mind in case of rain on our wedding day. We would choose them again and again if we had to.
The best decision ever!
They really try to take the stress of planning a wedding off your hands.
I was able to having the wedding that I wanted... simple and beautiful!
We had a small wedding and everyone thought the food was great, the service was excellent and the venue was beautiful.
Thank you Kellogg Center for making our special day perfect :)
Taylor Bates and her staff helped make my daughter's wedding picture perfect. From planning the event to the actual day everything was handled professionally. The food was delicious and the east patio and big ten ballroom were gorgeous! The servers were outstanding...they handled 200 guests with ease!! The hotel rooms were clean and very comfortable. I would highly recommend the Kellogg Hotel and Conference center for your wedding!
The Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center was the perfect place to have our wedding reception. The food was outstanding, the staff was incredibly friendly and a blast to work with, and the space was perfectly set up to meet our needs. The wedding coordinator provided with the venue, Taylor, was with us every step of the way. From working to get Vegan and vegetarian meals, to adding last minute guests to our table arrangements. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to have the best quality of food, service and venue space.
Responsive, personable, accommodating, attentive, detail-oriented
We had our reception at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in the Big Ten B/C Ballroom and had an absolutely fabulous experience! Taylor did an amazing job communicating with us prior to the wedding and she was also very flexible and willing to offer assistance. We really appreciated how helpful and kind every staff member was on the big day. Our guests raved about how wonderful the food was and how great the service was as well. We loved how everything came together so perfectly! I would definitely recommend the Kellogg Center as a wedding venue!!
Twenty eight years ago my husband and I had our wedding and reception at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference center. We chose this venue again for our daughter for the all of the same reasons that we had originally - all those years ago - and it was just as wonderful! In the nearly two years of planning for the event, we experienced nothing but professionalism from every staff member. Taylor Bates was the consummate professional throughout the process happily accommodating all of our special requests and making the entire event wonderful and unique. Her attention to detail was greatly appreciated - and very evident! The guests enjoyed having the hotel and restaurant right at the same venue. The food was excellent and the service all around was impeccable. Thank you Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center for helping us make some great memories - again!
Everything was wonderful. We got so many compliments on the venue and the food, more than I thought we'd ever get.
Please pass compliments to the chef. Food was out of this world! So much so, that the beef lovers in our families never mentioned that they missed having beef!
All of you, including Taylor, Abby, Cindy and the other coordinator were amazing.
Thanks so much.
We had a beautiful wedding reception at the Kellogg Center! We couldn’t have asked for a better team headed up by Taylor! The only minor downside is the rooms are a touch small other than the suites.
Coordinator, staff, venue, and food all amazing. They really took care of us.
The Lincoln Room at the Kellogg Center was a great venue for our wedding ceremony and reception. In order to fit both events in the same space and also feature games instead of dancing for the reception, we went through a series of change requests to Taylor--she was always gracious about accommodating us and quick to respond with an idea to make it work out. Her coordination activities during the planning process were timely and thorough. The Kellogg Center package had everything we wanted to host our guests in style and was a major reason we chose this venue, along with the on-site hotel.
From start to finish the Kellogg Center offered superb service. I was initially nervous to have my wedding out of town but every person I talked to at the Kellogg Center was welcoming, answered all questions promptly, and put my mind at ease. I would recommend the Kellogg Center 100%.
Kellogg was a perfect venue for us, and Taylor and the entire wedding staff were incredible to work with. Of all the things to keep track of, I never once had a worry that something slipped or dropped off the radar from them. Taylor was on top of every detail and answered countless questions via email. She probably has hundreds of weddings and had a special way of making me feel like mine was the only one.
The Kellogg was an incredible reception venue. The staff went out of their way to accommodate all of our wishes - every request was met with an "absolutely, no problem!" They ran the dinner and reception services like a well oiled machine. Everything was set up exactly how we had planned with minimal effort on our part. The Big 10 BC Ballroom was a beautiful setting and came with its own adjustable uplighting. Our guests can't stop talking about the delicious food and we can't stop gushing about the excellent customer service. Taylor, the wedding specialist, was truly exceptional - but really the whole experience was exceptional.
Working with Kellogg Center was amazing for our wedding! We were planning this wedding from out of state and Taylor & team could not have made it any easier for us. They were always quick to respond! The venue was gorgeous and was perfect for our big day. I would recommend Kellogg to any couple in a heartbeat as they truly take care of you and make wedding planning stress free!
We had our ceremony and reception at Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. The ceremony was held outside on the East Patio, and the reception was inside in the Lincoln room. The size of the Lincoln room was perfect for our 100 person wedding! Everything was organized and arranged perfectly as we had envisioned and discussed! Taylor Bates did a wonderful job making sure everything ran smoothly, even during a close call of rain, where we made last minute decisions on if the ceremony and cocktail hour was going to be held inside or outside. Everything was perfect and the venue was beautiful! Thank you!
This was a small, second wedding however we wanted to host a nice dinner buffet and selected the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. Taylor Bates from the first call until the last email was professional, upbeat and had great suggestions.
Our group was around 70, and as small and intimate as it was in the Red Cedar Room, we were treated the same as my company's post holiday Gala in January, 2018 that catered to over 1,000 guests!
There are so many choices for meal options, we had an Italian Buffet guests are still talking about months later! The room was elegant, especially with the in-wall fireplace. Because it was in December, all of the decorations of the holiday season made even more magical!
The renovated guest rooms and Honeymoon Suite with a view of much of the campus and surrounding areas was breathtaking!
Final payment was prompt via email from the accounting department.
Flawless!
Our venue was beautiful and Hannah could not have been more helpful as our event coordinator. It was a beautiful place to hold a reception.
I can't say enough how much I loved having our reception at the Kellogg Center. It was so easy for guests to book rooms, and it was amazing that our room was included in our package. There was even champagne, fruit, and chocolate waiting in our room after our reception, along with the sweetest note from the woman we worked with. The reception was BEAUTIFUL, and all of the staff was so great. The food was excellent. I don't usually enjoy wedding food, as it's mass produced. But my meal was incredible, and I heard many compliments about the other meal options. My guests with allergy issues were also extremely appreciative that the Kellogg could accommodate them.
We had a rough start to planning our reception, but when staffing changed the new wedding specialist made sure to contact us and meet with us. Taylor Bates was AMAZING. She was always prompt about answering the billion questions I emailed to her, and is just one of the nicest people I've ever met. When I happened upon her in the lobby Saturday morning, she let me basically throw pens at her to put with our stuff. :) We were able to drop off everything a couple days early, and they stored it in the office. She catalogued everything. She also checked in with me multiple times throughout the night. I wish Taylor had been there from the beginning, because I probably wouldn't have needed a wedding planner. I really appreciate EVERYONE at Kellogg, but especially her. She really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, and I'm confident we weren't the only wedding she was dealing with. I can't say enough about her.
Sasha (our venue coordinator) and the Kellogg Center did an absolutely beautiful job with our wedding! We had several meetings leading up to our day, which made us feel comfortable and confident in our plan. Sasha was always quick to answer any questions or concerns I had throughout the process. He and the Kellogg staff took care of everything the day of, and kept us from feeling stressed or overwhelmed so that we could just enjoy our day. The food was delicious and the serving staff were all pleasant and helpful. Overall I would highly recommend using the Kellogg Center as your venue!
We had our wedding last weekend at the Kellogg Center. Our ceremony was on the East Patio and the reception was in the Lincoln Room. Our guests loved that everything was in the same location and many people got a hotel room to spend the night. We had great weather and the East Patio was beautiful. We didn't have decorations at the ceremony, but the natural setting made it so they weren't necessary. Right after our ceremony, guests went to the Lincoln Room for our cocktail hour and dinner. Kellogg Center staff did an awesome job setting up the room with our centerpieces and favors ahead of time. Everything went as planned and ran smoothly. We had a great time and so did our guests. Sparty happened to be at an event outside and even came in to say hi for a few minutes! My only complaint would be that they don't give you a choice for the seasonal beer options and they chose two IPA's, which my fiance and I don't like as much. A 24 pack of Oberon would've been an additional $150. Would definitely recommend having a wedding here!
Absolutely amazing wedding experience. Everything went perfect. The Kellogg coordinator dealt with any issues that came up immediately. The staff were all excellent and the food was amazing! Thanks to everyone at Kellogg Center!
My husband and I recently had our reception (and most of our guests, including us) stay at the Kellogg Center for our wedding. We loved the location—it was convenient to our wedding ceremony, had covered parking, and ample space for our cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. It was especially nice to have our guest rooms literally steps away so that we didn't have to worry about guests drinking and driving.
The amount of amenities covered at the venue are great: set up and tear down, cake cutting, champagne toast, and a large variety of appetizer, entree and bar options. The space we rented (the Lincoln Room; comfortably seated 120 guests) was perfect, and the Kellogg Center was great at working with our other vendors.
The on-site venue coordinator was gracious enough to meet with me several times as we went over timing, questions and other intricate details. However, it was in the details that was a little hit or miss during the actual event. Our food was so-so, at best, and many of the things we had arranged (e.g., the bar set-up) just didn't pan out as planned.
All that said, the Kellogg Center was more than accommodating and understanding with our concerns. Where they could, it was fixed immediately during the event. Looking back, I want to be clear that our wedding reception turned out great, and I can say that I was happy with our experience. Many thanks to the Kellogg Center for their thoughtful customer service team and great space!
The venue was perfect and gorgeous. The only complaint I have is that the planning process on their end could have been more organized, but they pulled it off in the end and made our wedding perfect.
We were fortunate enough to have our wedding reception in the Big 10 Ballroom at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center. At first I was completely against the hotel conference reception, but let me tell you, there are reasons why you have a reception at a hotel. The wedding staff was so accommodating, they knew the ins and outs of everything. They helped up with multiple additions and set up our room exactly like we dreamed. Although pricey, you get a lot for your money (including open bar which was our big seller!). It was stress free and wonderful and we are so grateful to the entire staff for making our special day even more special!
We had our cocktail hour and reception at the Kellogg. Pam was amazing to work with. I had been emailing her back and forth for almost a year leading up to our even and she was so quick to respond each time. We met with her a couple days before the wedding to go over the details. When we arrived after the ceremony everything was set up just as I had wanted. The food was very good and they were willing to accommodate guests will all sorts of allergies. It was very convenient that the guests were able to stay right upstairs at the hotel so no one had to worry about driving. Our cocktail hour was out on the east patio and it was just beautiful. I don't really have anything bad to say!
My husband and I used the Kellogg Center as our hotel and reception venue. Pam and Rebecca were wonderful to work with from the beginning. They are organized, follow up quickly, and are willing to work with any requests! Be sure to book rooms in advance as they fill quickly. The State Room had an amazing brunch for my immediate family in a private room the morning after our reception. The ballroom was gorgeous with new lighting, and conveniently located near restrooms for guests. Staff was efficient, friendly, and professional. We are given a person to oversee our reception who answered to any of our needs. The food was fabulous! My guests were raving about the bacon mac n cheese and the filet mignon for days afterward! I would highly recommend MSU's Kellogg Center to any bride and groom!
Our wedding at the Kellogg Center was absolute perfection! Each and every staff member treated us all with a beautiful combination of warmth and professionalism. The staff, and I want to specially thank Becca Sztuczko, was so gracious, courteous, sincere, responsive and accommodating to our every wish that I will be forever grateful. The Kellogg Center took care of every detail of the event, so that, as the bride, I was able to thoroughly enjoy my wedding and my guests. I am spreading the word to everyone I meet, and one of my guests has already booked the Kellogg Center for her son's wedding next April.
Thank you so much!
Staff was impossible to get ahold of and when I did they were snotty in email. After discussing several times in person what I want she would fail to update the sheet ( number of guest, tables etc) and act put out when I finally said I want to see her update it while I'm in the office and I can sign off on it as we go. She has problems updating the menu, table sizes, etc. It was not just on one occasion it was every time. My decorators and other vendors I hired to come in said it was impossible to get ahold of her tried to get a hold of her multiple times. On the day of our wedding she was no where to be found. Tried calling her and could not reach her. She said we would be using projector on the ceiling and after we paid we had the projector on a table. Which we brought our own and the whole point in paying for the projector is so that it would not be in middle of dance floor in the way. Extremely disappointed. The guest complained about there hotel rooms being extremely small. So check them out before getting one. The food on day of wedding taste like the cafeteria food. They lost my knife and server for the wedding cake after the cake was cut.
We couldn't have picked a more perfect reception spot than the Big Ten A room at The Kellogg Center! All their rooms have been updated and renovated and look STUNNING! The lights on the ceilings and walls can be changed to coordinate the colors of your wedding, which looked AMAZING! People are still telling us how beautiful our reception was! Working with Pam was such a pleasure, and made the process of planning the reception so much easier! She got back with us right away to address any questions or changes we needed to make. The food was PHENOMENAL, and service was wonderful! Wedding package pricing is reasonable considering all the amenities you get! We are so happy we hosted our reception at the Kellogg Center-best decision we made! :)
We had our reception at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center and it was phenomenal. We used one of their recently renovated rooms and it was beautiful. When we were looking around for a place to do our reception, we noticed that a lot of halls had ugly, bright colored carpeting and decoration which would not match our colors at all. The BigTen rooms in the Kellogg however were very muted, basic, goes with anything, type colors like white/cream/tan. Also, one of my favorite parts of the room was that you can pick colors for the walls. Our colors were an aqua blue and pink and they accented the walls with those colors. The final product with all our decorations was beyond amazing. I would say the only negative was that they had a minimum cost that we had to reach, and it was pricier than we would have liked, but I guess that is pretty typical for wedding venues. Lastly, the coordinator for the KC was Pam Ehlert and she was phenomenal. She always got back to me quickly whenever I had questions and was just a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend this venue.
A wonderful venue with great service and awesome food. I was very happy with how our reception came together. The Kellogg Center was the best.
Could have not asked for a better fairy tale! The food was beyond amazing and delicious, and the room, staff and service was truly 5 star! We used the Lincoln room and our day was just amazing! Thank you, thank you!
The Kellogg Center was great to work with. They have a beautiful, newly renovated space with a lot of new upgrades and modern decor. Many of the vendors in the area have worked with the Kellogg Center, which makes planning a lot easier.
We had our reception at the Kellogg in the newly renovated Big Ten Room. Everything was perfect. The entire event planning team were a delight to work with and made everything so easy to plan. The food was delicious and plentiful. It was such a wonderful experience all around. I would absolutely recommend the KC for anyone planning any event, not just a wedding.
Our reception was at Kellogg and it was just beautiful. They took care of so much and took a huge burden off me. The food is just wonderful and they decorated the room as I asked. We worked with Pam, who is an absolute joy. She will help you with all the little details so your reception is worry free. Well worth the money!
We had our wedding reception at the Kellogg Center and it was absolutely wonderful. Prior to the wedding, they were very helpful in preparing the reception. They have a wedding coordinator with a few assistants that keep you on track and check-in whenever necessary. They just renovated the rooms, so have beautiful colored lighting on the floor, walls, and ceiling. They take care of the catering, cake-cutting service, and reception set-up. They also coordinate with your florist and other vendors to make sure they are setting up at the right time, etc. We had MANY compliments on the excellent food, wonderful service, and beautiful room. I highly recommend the Kellogg Center. It is pricey, but well worth the cost since they set up and tear down and take care of all the food.
We had a fabulous experience working with Kellogg. They were extremely accommodating for our room block, gave us great rates, and were friendly and helpful to guests. They also provided great shuttle service to our guests and the wedding party. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and new. The bridal suite is stunning! Wonderful experience all around.
This facility was great for my reception. Pam, the wedding planner, was amazing and so easy to work with.
Our wedding could not have been better! The Kellogg Center was so great! The food was great! The service was great! We loved it!
this is the epitome of an all-inclusive wedding reception location. the amenities that came with our package were incredible, and the food was amazing. everyone raved about how delicious everything was. we had a few snags with who we were specifically working with as our coordinator for everything, but it all worked out to be a perfect evening for the two of us.
Kellogg Center has a great package including, food, bar, centerpieces and other important details for your reception. Highly recommend and it's a great price!
I loved the staff and help with planning and setting up our wedding Pam at Kellogg gave us! I would recommend this vendor to anyone!
We were very happy with the Kellogg Center. The guest services people were all very friendly, efficient, and helpful. Kellogg does not charge a room fee, so that put them a step ahead of most of the other places we talked to. We did a luncheon reception because it was a lot cheaper that way, and there was a huge wall of windows to let the sunshine in. We were able to feed 350 people a nice meal for a reasonable price. Plus, we (the bride and groom) got a free suite the night of our wedding!
Working with Pam (and her assistant) at the Kellogg Center was a fantastic experience! They were awesome at returning calls and e-mails in a timely manner and I had every confidence that things would turn out amazing.
The day of the wedding, everything went smoothly. The food was great, the service was fantastic, and we had absolutely no complaints!
The Kellogg Center made everything perfect. They were very easy to work with and very helpful.
