ew months due to many many many people including relatives, venues, vendors, etc. all denying my fiance and I services due to us being on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. Unfortunately, after reaching out to this photography group, she did inform me that she would not be doing my photos due to it being against her beliefs. I will say that she was the most respectful out of all the people who have rejected us, wishing me the best of luck, however, I decided to let people know about all the venders that have rejected us so that they would save much needed time as I have struggled for months due to weaving through people willing to provide us services. Once again, she is as respectful as she can be to reject someone due to religious beliefs, and i appreciate her for that, but imagine being told by many people very hurtful things I wouldnt wish upon anyone only to hear one last rejection. After watching my fiance cry every night for a week now, I needed to just let people know of who will be able to provide services so that them and their loved ones do not go through the same. I do not want to disrespect anyone's beliefs and she seems very talented, but I know for all the people who have denied us, I would have loved to have known especially for my fiance who has not gone to work for a few days due to the heartbreak of rejection upon rejection from people who did not specify over the course of months on end and has not eaten due to feeling unloved by society. Once again, I understand her beliefs and just as I have seen the harsh feelings of rejection for over 3 months now, I would not like the same for her. I'm sorry Kelly if this hurts, but I hope you understand. I respect your beliefs wholeheartedly but cannot imagine someone going through what we have been through and want to save even one couple from heartbreak as it hurts much more to hear after reaching out and having hope for a service. I also understand why someone would not like to specify in their advertisements, which is why I also have debated writing this. Even despite this she wished me luck on finding someone advising me to post onto groups on Facebook. Small businesses deserve to succeed. If you are a straight and cis couple who likes her work, I'm sure you will love her and her work and she will be wonderful for you and should book her if you want a reasonably priced shoot that looks incredible. If you are not a straight/cis couple or anywhere on the spectrum, please respect her wishes, but know that you might he turned away.
