g. The event space was nice and my florist made the space come to life. Jessica with Kemper was alright to work with. We did feel lied to about a couple things we had discussed earlier in meetings and then not seeing them on the day of. Such as, she said the bridal party would have access to a secure area to store belongings and then on the day of, her solution was to put things (including shoving my viel) under a table with a long table cloth in the reception space. Jessica also told me that there was an event earlier on in the day so my vendors could not arrive until 2 hours before the event. We later found out there was no event earlier in the day so this caused unnecessary stress during the planning process. Jessica also ensured us that she would be there during the event for anything we may need. I never saw her and was told by my day of coordinator that she had left the premises by 9pm (my event was scheduled until midnight). So if you go with Kemper, I would recommend hiring a day of coordinator and get everything mentioned in meetings in a written contract. During the planning meeting, Jessica did not want to show us different chair color options or different linen color samples even though she had them available. I was unsure of what I wanted and was having a hard time visualizing it and she wasn't offering to show me the samples until my day of coordinator pushed to show the samples Jessica had in her office. Overall, the day ran smoothly with the help of A Perfect Petal and Stasia K Events.

We actually had two food tastings because my husband lives in Canada so he only had a certain time gram he could do the tasting in and a second one because they changed their head chef and Jessica wanted to make sure we knew what we’re getting. Jessica was always there when I had a random question, best to reach her by email! She had all the bright answers for us when we had no idea how to plan the wedding ourselves. She literally was like my low key wedding planner. I couldn’t say thank you enough! My husband, myself, his best man, his dad, and his best mana brother all went golfing ay Kemper the Thursday before the wedding and it was such a beautiful course but and even more beautiful site for he ceremony! In front of the water under weeping willows with a fountain in the backdrop. It was a dream! The cocktail hour was in the terrace looking over the water and it was just perfect! The reception was indoors in this room with high wood ceiling a and covered with window looking over the water! Honestly the food was such a highlight of the night! Soooooo many compliments on the food choices we had! 100% would recommend Kemper Lakes for any wedding looking for romance and fun!! Shout out to Jessica for making it the best night of our lives!

there was so easy to work with and she helped keep everything in order through the rain to set up my outdoor wedding and even helped fluff up my dress right before walking down the aisle. All in all it was a beautiful venue and a great team to work with.

There was supposed to be a golf cart available for guests that couldn't walk to the site. We had to run around searching for Jessica to get one. She was nowhere around for most all of the day or evening. The food was absolutely the worst wedding food I have ever had. Very sparce appetizers, Salads with little to no dressing, horrible chicken, and the vegetable pasta dish was rubber noodles with no sauce and a few roasted tomatoes. I would tell other brides to make sure they have a person to co-ordinate their day because Jessica did not do her job on the day.

Unfortunatly, before and during my reception it rained so the outdoor bar/cocktail hour was moved inside (which actually worked out for the best), but Jessica was making sure I was okay and not freaking out over the rain. Although I was not able to take pictures on the golf carts or other areas of the golf course, it was still beautiful right outside of the room. I highly recommend Kemper Lakes to anyone wanting a beautiful place to celebrate your marriage with staff that want that day to be special for you!

She kept us on track and up to date on what we needed to do. She was great at coordinating everyone during the planning process and on the day of the wedding. It was our perfect start to happily ever after!

The reception area is both elegant and spacious, requiring very little extra decoration in order to feel special. Outdoors, there are plenty of gardens and a ceremony space by a lake where you can get married between two willow trees. The package deal of ceremony, catering, cake, bar, linens, equipment, etc. proved to be an exceptional value. Jessica, who is the event coordinator at Kemper Lakes, responded to each of our emails within minutes, met with us several times, and allowed us to customize our ceremony and reception as much as we wanted. She significantly brought down our stress levels during the entire process; she was all-around a pleasure to work with.

re more than helpful from the day I inquired about open dates, until the last person was out the door on the day of our wedding. Jessica was the easiest person to work with throughout the entire process. Even though I had some last minute requests and changes, she was able to accommodate them to every last detail. A major plus was that she answered all of my emails withing 12-24 hours of getting them, most of the time sooner, even when I knew she was not in the office. I could not have imagined a better experience. I have had guests calling me for days raving about the food, service, and atmosphere. They decorated with several tea light candles around the room (a major plus, especially once it got dark). The outside patio was a great perk, and we were given the option of putting a bar out there, which guests loved. Jessica was available when I arrived after my ceremony and had taken care of everything before I was there. I would also suggest using the DJ that was recommended by Kemper, JD Mason of Delta Disc Jockeys. Since the company works with the venue often, I had little to do besides choose music. They took care of the rest. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is thinking of getting married in the area.

We couldn't be happier with the overall service, and the result was a perfect beautiful ceremony and reception. After a month people is still calling me to tell me what a beautiful wedding and place. Yes I will recommend this venue to my family and friends.

The director there (Jessica) was phenomenal to work with- a no nonsense person who gets right down to business (no sugar coating stuff, just telling it like it is, which is refreshing among all the fake wedding vendor people). She worked with our budget, gave us great advice on food, and helped us on the big day. She is also INCREDIBLY prompt with emails, which is a huge asset for a wedding vendor. She usually got back to us within 1/2 a day.

xtremely happy, I thought I'd write a review for other brides considering Kemper as a wedding venue. POSITIVES: 1. The venue is so GORGEOUS. It's unique, beautiful scenery, quite, calm and photographs amazingly. 2. The food is really good 3. Jessica responds to emails quickly Negatives: 1. Though Jessica is nice, she seems like she has been doing this for a while so when she talks about wedding planning with the bride, groom and families she doesn't seem thrilled. I felt that at my food tasting, we were rushed and she took away from us enjoying the moment. It was my only chance to eat the food since I barely had any on the wedding day. Her emails are extremely short as noted by another bride. 2. There were storms the week before and two days my wedding. Jessica informed us the day of the rehearsal that the Peninsula where the ceremony would be located was flooded and there was NO WAY we would be able to use it. In a obvious panic we headed over there to see that it was not bad at all. Even though we had a plan B, I feel like she was thinking worse case scenario - even informing me that since there was no power, I may have huge, loud generators at the reception. Even on the day of my wedding she was worst-case scenario with rain. I felt she should be talking to my mom, not me. 3. Helping my mom with things on my wedding day, Jessica put my veil in a linen closet, rather than in my dressing room. With all the craziness before walking down the aisle, me and the entire bridal party didn't think about it. Jessica didn't notice I was missing my veil either. I really wish I had it to walk down the aisle since my mom made it!!! 4. Jessica left our wedding ceremony once we walked down the aisle. There was no advanced notice that she would be leaving. 5. When my groomsmen were taking shots (something that was against our contract), another cranky lady involved came to tell ME that they could not. She should have left the bride and groom out of the drama and talked to a mother about it. 6. During our food tasting, Jessica didn't review our contract and didn't realize that she never met the groom. 7. Wait staff did not take extra special care of the bridal party during the reception. I felt that I should have been offered more hors' doreves (I literally only had two pieces) and cleared our empty glasses faster than they did- lots of empty glasses in our pictures. *Though there are many more negatives than positives above (the negatives are in the details of the day), I still wouldn't change our wedding venue. Our wedding day at Kemper was truly beautiful and I will remember it forever.

pretty smoothly, but during the planning, the event coordinator had such amazing reviews on other websites that I expected more from the service. I felt like I got nothing out of her throughout the whole planning. She would respond to my questions with as few words as possible, there was never any back-and-forth and she never made suggestions. I was just expecting more based on other reviews. Maybe I wasn't "needy" enough. There were times that I really disliked her though, like when my grandparents were late for the ceremony (like 5 min!) and she said we'd have to start without them. Um. No. I thought the prices were a little high and I was not impressed by any of the food, though my guests had good things to say. My guests also LOVED the bartenders, who were super friendly to everyone.

per because we thought it was too expensive, but Jessica called us back when we canceled our visit and told us she could give us Friday pricing for a Saturday wedding. We loved the big windows all around the room, our guests said the food was great (it was good at the tasting but I didn't get to eat much at the wedding). They also did our cake through Lovin' Oven Bakery & the cake/cupcakes looked fantastic & tasted really good (according to our guests). My husband and I are so pleased with how everything turned out & we're so glad we chose Kemper. The wedding photos outdoors look great (from the ones we've seen so far) too. We'd highly recommend Kemper for your wedding!
