Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

Olinetchouk took over and made my responsibility effortless. Natasha made my son and new daughter-in-law’s rehearsal dinner a success. Six months before the rehearsal dinner, my one and only in-person meeting with her consisted of a complete, sample proposal of what I may expect as far as costs. The costs were based on a general head count and included menu choices and bar choices, i.e. open bar vs. cash bar or beer and wine selection to fit my budget. As time flew by and the rehearsal dinner was 1.5 months away, I was nervous about seating arrangements for sit down, plated dinner for almost 60 people in the Atrium. Natasha sent me sample floor seating plans as well as a blank one with measurements, if I chose to draft my own floor plan. I asked if the museum had easels for a 'welcome' poster and 'seating chart' poster. Natasha replied that the museum did and supplied me with 2 easels on the evening. She helped me play a video during the cocktail 1/2 hour too. The evening of the dinner, naturally I anticipated toasts. The Atrium seemed to be cavernous and noisy. Natasha had the answer as soon as I uttered my worry. A very useful, effective tool, a microphone was presented to me! Everyone could hear from the pastor's blessing of our meal to my welcome toast through the ensuing toasts for the engaged couple from at least 9 people! Natasha answered all my questions in a courteous and timely manner and allayed my fears of trying to put together components of the dinner while I lived out-of-town. Her help, expertise and professionalism as an assistant event manager was invaluable to me. Thank you Natasha for making Friday night, October 18, 2019 a seamless and enjoyable night!

On the day of my wedding, I never had to give the reception a second thought, and when we entered the venue after the wedding, it took my breath away. Every detail had been taken care of and the tables looked amazing. The drinks and hors d'oeuvres had been served and everyone was enjoying themselves. From start to finish, the event was perfectly executed. We had a sit down meal and all of our guests gave rave reviews on the food, which we chose at a tasting event the Kemper hosts for it's clients. Quality of food was a major concern when choosing a venue, and Cafe Sebastienne created and served an impressive meal. Another issue that we considered was accessibility for our older guests, and The Kemper has fantastic parking and access for guests. The Kemper is really an ideal space for any event-it adds elegance and eliminates the stress of planning!

nd Natasha guided us from beginning to end with what they had to offer and exactly what the costs would be. I especially liked that food and drinks were provided through Cafe Sebastian. We chose appetizers and heavy hors d'oeuvres and it turned out great. All the staff were very personable and polite. We received many compliments from our guests and we are still glowing with the happy memories of the ceremony and reception. I highly recommend the Kemper.

and very FUN to work with! Everything from figuring out layout & linens to the tasting session were thoroughly enjoyable experiences! The atrium area was beautifully set for the evening, the dinner was delicious and the servers were excellent. Our rehearsal ran late at the church and our toasts ran long during the dinner, which made us go past our agreed upon ending time for the evening. I had no idea how late we had gone over our time, since the staff continued their friendly service. I would highly recommend The Kemper if you want your special event to be perfect!

We probably got the most compliments on the food buffet. Literally every dish was absolutely delicious! We picked chicken and steak as the main entree. The salad with strawberries, nuts, and cheese is to die for! In addition the wait staff was very attentive, keeping the food replaced as needed! Afterthe reception the staff was so great about helping us get everything packed up! Having the wedding at the Kemper was the best decision we made. One of the hidden gems of planning your wedding at the Kemper is that you get Natasha and Betty as planners. All in all, it was a beautiful reception that received many compliments, while also being surprisingly affordable. I recommend anyone seeking a unique, easy-to-work-with event space to seek them out.

If you ever need a great band Lonnie McFadden was so incredible. The kids have loved him for years and we've seen him at the Phoenix several times - they made the evening so much fun and were absolutely amazing. Thank you for everything! When we get pictures from the photographer I'll send some to you. The museum couldn't have been more beautiful or more perfect for the wedding.

Will it be too loud with a band? Will everyone be able to park with the Art Fair going on? Spoiler alert: It all worked out... above and beyond my expectations. The crew at the Kemper is TOP NOTCH. They are accommodating, kind and so talented! The food, atmosphere and service was all amazing.... we can't thank them enough. I'm a list maker.... Here are my top reasons to choose Kemper.... 1. Staff - Amazing. Betty is an angel. 2. Atmosphere - You hardly need flowers with such gorgeous art surrounding you! 3. Food - Everyone loved it! But c'mon... did you expect any less from Chef Jennifer?! We did a heavy appetizer buffet and got rave reviews. 4. Museum Membership - Wish I would have made our initial donation to the museum as "Friends of So & So" ... nice gesture in lieu of party favors. 5. Memories - The Kemper is a KC landmark.... What a fantastic place to visit and remember your wedding day! Best wedding venue in Kansas City... hands down. (And hands in da air for a great party whoop whoop. :)
