Kennedy-Doss Event Management is led by owners Marnie Kennedy and Lauri Doss. Marnie has more than three decades of experience in the service industry and is confident in putting together events of all sizes. Lauri, meanwhile, has always loved planning parties for her loved ones and coordinated her first Myrtle Beach wedding in 2003.
Kennedy-Doss Event Management has a range of event planning packages for you to choose from; ranging from month-of coordination to full-service planning. Some of the services included in these plans are budget development, venue selection, contract review and creation of your wedding day timeline. You can tailor your chosen package to include help with centerpiece creation and assistance with vendors, rentals and decor.

Marnie was awesome after last min switch same company but Lauri was diagnosed w stage 4 and could no longer do it. Many thanks to them for making it a special day.
I cannot say enough how amazing Marnie and Lauri are. They helped us plan our wedding at the Cooper House. We expected the planning process to be stressful, but the two of them made it fun, simple, and quick. They stayed in contact with us for months, checking in from time to time with any questions or concerns we may have had. We had in person meetings to cover all our bases. Sitting down talking to them was like sitting down with old friends. They are so personable, easy to get along with, fun, and they truly care. The day of the wedding came and all we had to do was show up and enjoy our day. They took care of everything. It was an amazing and truly beautiful day. We owe it all to them. Thank you so much for everything! We love you guys!
My wedding day would not have been as organized and stress-free had it not been for these ladies! Although it was only 30 days before my wedding that we worked together, they knew what questions to ask me to help me prepare for the big day! They reasaured me that everything would be ok, and the day of, Ashley went above and beyond what I needed to relax and enjoy the moment. From running errands, to double checking with vendors, the support was absolutely amazing and not to mention fun! The bubbly and honest personalities matched us and I would definitely recommend this company to any couple! I am from Ohio and had a destination wedding in Myrtle Beach and I was clueless about EVERYTHING and they walked me through step by step but still gave me full control of final decisions. They even caught minor errors in my banquet details for me to fix, which saved us money. From the rehearsal, to the ceremony and reception, we felt the commitment was solid and will be forever appreciative of their services.
Lauri & her team were an absolute joy to work with. First of all, Lauri has a fun personality so that made it enjoyable. We only had her for 30 days out, but she made it easy for my mom & I with last minute details and coordination of the big day. She thought of details we had never considered to make the wedding go smoothly. On the day of the wedding she was there promptly and working immediately to make sure everything was set up perfectly. Throughout the day she made sure that we stuck to our timeline and that my husband and I got time together. I did not feel overwhelmed with wedding planning thanks to Lauri!
I booked my bridal shower at the Cooper house and got to work with Marnie. She was so easy going and laid back with all of my questions about everything! 6 weeks before my wedding I was in a bit of a problem needing a day of coordinator and contacted Lauri and Marnie right away. They met with & Asheley and I basically told them my entire wedding in a two hour meeting. They saw my vision, added their input, and even set up a time to see my venue and make our floor plan. My wedding day was SO SMOOTH because of these ladies! Asheley had my full trust in the day of and rehearsal and seriously took my vision and elevated it to make it even more beautiful than I had imagined. Nothing was left for me to wonder or stress about and I truly got to enjoy the entire day with my groom. These ladies came through for me in a pinch and my ONLY regret was not contacting them sooner!!!!
I found Lauri and Marnie through The Cooper House. I was planning my wedding from out of state. They were so helpful recommending vendors. They work with you to make sure your event is everything you want and more. I couldn't have been happier with them. They are wonderful to work with.
So so grateful I found these two ladies and hired them as our coordinators! Getting married in a newly moved to state was very stressful. My husband and I being from New York and only moving to SC a year prior to getting married, we knew nothing about who to hire, who to trust and these ladies were the best call we made. Not only were their personal services so helpful, they guided us to all the best that we needed as well; flowers, DJ, their own venue with catering, and more. Not to mention their amazing personalities, they don’t make you just feel like you’re hiring professionals but friends as well.
I promise you will not be disappointed by working with this team!
Marnie and Lauri are the best EVER!!!! They went way above and beyond and did way more than was in the contract to make sure I had the best wedding day! So many tasks they tackled that wasn’t their job. They filled in for every one’s slack & with a smile on their face. When I say they are my hero’s & I couldn’t have done this with out them this is one million percent a true statement! They made me feel so special & loved & so well taken care of. My hair/ make up lady I’m oh too cute is her business name didn’t show on wedding day to do make up and hair Lauri brought make up from home and got to work, had me ready in time for when photographer came in to take pics! She had me all glammed up for my special day she will never understand how loved she made me feel & how much she made my wedding the best day ever but let me tell you she made my wedding the best day ever! I was upset that Ariel from im oh too cute didn’t show as promised but when I saw my make up that Lauri did she actually did a way better job than Ariel ever could. I one million percent recommend these ladies for your special day!! They will make you feel special on another level! They took such great care of me through out the past few months & on wedding day! Boy am I thankful for them! They are a blessing from above!!! Please hire them for your special day & recommend to every one else!!! Lauri also did my bridesmaids make up & she too said that made her feel extra loved & she appreciated it so much! Also guests came up to me & told me how friendly these ladies are& how they loved running into them!
Hire them! Marnie and Lauri are the best, I hired them as a full service wedding planners so they were dealing with me for over a year and understood what I wanted from the start. Then Hurricane Ian came and upended everything we worked on, but with grace they were able to move my wedding after the venue flooded in less than 24 hours. New Venue, all vendors notified, all I had to do was show up and get married at the new place. They turned my wedding nightmare into an absolute dream and my new husband and I could not be more thankful.
There are not enough words to express how good these ladies are! If you’re planning a wedding or event, I wouldn’t hesitate to hire Kennedy-Doss. First and foremost, they’re so fun to be around and really help manage the stress of event planning with their can-do attitude. Lauri means business when it comes down to every detail, keeping vendors, guests, etc in check and ensuring your day moves smoothly. So professional and courteous…by the end of your event, they feel like family. 10/10 would recommend!
These two are fun and down to earth! They took all the stress and anxiety out of planning and coordinating and decorating! I did not have to worry about ANYTHING on the day of my wedding, because I knew they had my back and would handle whatever went awry. From the beginning to the end, they were there to assist every step of the way!
Planning a wedding can be stressful enough, now we have to throw covid into the mix and it makes the planning process more stressful. I had to make new plans as Covid had originally made our wedding plans not able to happen.
Working with Laurie was the BEST decision I could have made. After even my first conversation with her I felt extremely confident that my wedding would be everything I imagined, even though we were unable to go with our original plan. Laurie made the planning process the easiest and funniest thing in the world. I never felt like I had to worry about anything. She was extremely attentive, upbeat, responsive and knowledgeable. Being new to the Myrtle Beach area I had no idea where to start to other venders. Laurie has years worth of connections including photography, music, makeup, hair, officiants, and desserts that made that process easy, and stress free. Any time I had questions or concerns, she was there to ease my mind and assure me things would work out.
4 days before my wedding my photographer ended up testing positive for Covid. When I heard the news my heart SANK! However, Laurie was the BEST person to have by my side because I did not have to worry about a single thing, even though I was worrying because I no longer had a photographer, she assured me she was on it and it would be fine. Within 4 hours she had someone else lined up and ready to go with 4 days notice!! After that moment I knew working with Laurie was the best decision.
Fast forward to wedding day: Laurie made the wedding look absolutely amazing! With her and everything she did my wedding was more amazing than I could have ever imagined!
The Kennedy-Doss Event Management team will have you feel like there is nothing you cannot do or have! From the moment that I solicit their services to my event this past weekend, they were attentive to my needs. I live almost 1000 miles away yet their presence and communication helped me to feel like they were physically by my side. The resources and referrals were also valuable and lessened the things in which I had to figure out.This is the best way to publicly thank them for their hard work and dedication is to ask that you enlist Kennedy-Doss for your next memorable event.
Planning a wedding in general is a extremely stressful time in any couples lives, but planning a wedding in 6 months during a pandemic is more than stressful. After finding Marnie Kennedy and Lauri Doss, almost all of my stress disappeared. Marnie and Lauri did a great job during planning with keeping everything in order, getting in contact with vendors, keeping in contact, and being responsive. Even if that meant me texting or calling at all hours of the night and early mornings, to last minute changes and needing an officiant. When the day of the wedding came, I was able to enjoy my day with my bridal party and not worry while Marnie and Lauri made my wedding dreams come true. From decorations, to keeping everyone on a timeline, to running up a flight of stairs seconds before I was supposed to walk down the aisle to make sure I had my bouquet,to making sure I was having the best time possible. These two women made my day stress free and seamless. Every bride/groom should have a wedding day be like no other. For us that was because of our Marnie and Lauri duo. I would recommend anyone to Kennedy and Doss Event Management. Thank you ladies for being my wedding dream team!!!
