I truly cannot imagine my wedding experience without Wendy. The thought of planning a destination wedding really overwhelmed me and I didn’t feel like I had the time to create the ...
wedding I truly wanted. Luckily I found Key Destination Weddings & Events! Wendy was always available for questions I had, and had a solution for every issue I ran into. Even though the idea of a destination wedding felt scary at first, working with Wendy really made the experience seamless.
The day of my wedding, all I had to do was walk down the isle, eat cake, and drink champagne. Wendy and her team handled every little detail allowing me to truly enjoy the day. She managed all the design elements of my wedding as well, and was able to create the modern tropical vibe of my Pinterest board dreams. I am forever grateful to Wendy for creating this day and these incredible memories for me!
I can't express how wonderful Wendy and her team had been through the entire process of planning our destination wedding. I was a COVID bride, planning a wedding from West Virginia...
that was taking place in the Florida Keys. From postponing, to finding vendors, Wendy got me through it all. From quick text messages, to detailed phone calls, I was always in great hands. Due to the pandemic, my now husband and I weren't able to make it to our wedding destination until the wedding week, but it all came together like I had dreamed of. If you have the opportunity to book Key Destination Wedding and Events, do it. You will be forever grateful!
Planning a destination wedding is never easy, booking and planning a destination wedding just prior to the COVID pandemic taking over the world even less so, however, one of the be...
st decisions we made was picking Wendy Cole of Key Destination Weddings to be our wedding planner! Even before I became a bride, I have always been a bit stressed/particular/anal/hands on/and dare I say, difficult (lol), and becoming a bride, then a COVID bride, magnified these qualities ten-fold. Wendy handled my millions of questions, emails, concerns, and anxieties with ease and grace. When interviewing different planners, I really was looking for someone that I not only clicked with and shared my vision for the wedding, but also was very familiar with the other vendors, venue, location, etc. Wendy checked all of these boxes and more! Not only did she used to be an event manager at my venue, which made her very familiar with the ins and outs there, but she also took care of making an incredibly detailed (11 page!!!) wedding outline which had every possible detail that you could imagine, and even some that you would never think of on it. We chose the “month-of” package, which included pretty much full planning from approximately one month out from the wedding, however, because I was a destination bride, I also chose to do the “Design” package, which included her taking care of all design details for the ceremony and reception from the very beginning. We had multiple, several-hour phone calls, I shared my Pinterest boards, and my Google spreadsheet with her and she became intimately aware of my exact vision for the wedding. Then, she created Design Boards for each event which showed the exact floral designs, rental items, as well as ceremony and reception setups for me to see. It was as if she entered my brain and was able to get it all down on paper in a way that I never could. And not only did she do this, but she EXECUTED it flawlessly. Between coordinating with my MANY vendors, keeping everything moving smoothly, and troubleshooting any issue (which I don’t even think there were because everything was so perfectly done, and if there was, I never knew about it which is how it should be!), she really made our dream come true. Even down to the little things at the end of the night that I never would have thought of: she took our card box and personal décor/details items back to our hotel room so we could continue enjoying and go directly to our after party, she found my earrings that I ditched somewhere halfway through dancing and laid them on the dresser for me, saved our “Bride” and “Groom” place cards and placed them on our bed with the leftover flower girl rose petals arranged in a heart, AND left us a beautiful hand written note and bottle of champagne. Wendy, I cannot thank you enough for planning, creating, and fulfilling every aspect of our beautiful wedding, we are forever indebted to you. For any future bride reading this, CHOOSE WENDY and KEY DESTINATION WEDDINGS. You will be glad you did!!!
We had such an amazing experience working with Key Destination Wedding and Events! Carin and Wendy were professional, warm, communicative, readily available, understood our vision...
, and most importantly they always were always working towards creating the wedding of our dreams! Planning a wedding from afar, Carin took us on virtual tours of different venues, coordinated working with all of the vendors, and had taken care of every little detail! As a bride, it was so wonderful to be able to relax and enjoy the magic of our wedding day, knowing that were taking care of absolutely everything! Choosing Key Destination Wedding & Events to plan our special day was the best decision we made, and we cannot thank them enough for making our wedding day dreams come true!
Carin and Wendy were amazing wedding planners! We interviewed over 5 wedding planners and after speaking to Carin, we knew that she understood what was important to us. We got mar...
ried in Key West, Dec 2020. Carin was a great communicator, reliable, organized, and made everything come together. Carin's services was well worth every penny and more! Carin guided me through every decision on my wedding day. For example, Carin gave me bride tips on how not to cry when walking down the aisle by looking up at the sky. Carin coordinated with the venue, caterer and rental company. Another example of Carin's amazing job was when the linen for the tables came in too short and she immediately took care of it by calling the rental company and having them bring back the correct size (hours before the wedding ceremony). Wendy made sure I had dinner and was hydrated throughout the Reception.
We hired Key Destination Weddings & Events for month of planning services, with Carin as our planner. Ours was a COVID postponement from April to December and it was an incredibly...
stressful time. Carin was professional, positive, and helpful, and she has a wonderfully reassuring demeanor that is perfect for her occupation. When hiccups came up (as they always do), she was able to both validate our feelings and make us feel heard while also steering us towards a satisfactory solution. We got lucky enough to have both Carin and Wendy on the day of our wedding, and this was where their services really made the difference. We didn't have to worry about a single thing on our big day--they made sure absolutely everything ran perfectly and according to our wishes. They were behind the scenes just running around coordinating with all the vendors, the venue, and even handled a noise complaint without us even knowing it had happened. When there was a last minute change to the timeline, they quietly moved things around so that the night flowed seamlessly. They took great care of our personal items, making sure to deliver them safely to the hotel room at the end of the night. When my bustle broke, Wendy was right there with safety pins fixing me up to keep dancing.
Overall, I would highly recommend Key Destination Weddings & Events to anyone, whether you choose the full planning or month of option, they are an incredible support system and the execution leading up to and especially the day of was invaluable and allowed us and our families to just relax and enjoy the moment.
We hired Carin to handle our month-of wedding coordination. Upon first hire, everything seemed great and she was very helpful in recommending vendors to us, securing discounts, and...
assisting with budget advice. However, when it came to the month before the wedding, things began to take a turn. Delays in emails and lack of communication began to occur. Part of Carin's duties were to finalize a timeline and liaise with the vendors to make sure all knew when to arrive. However, up to TWO DAYS before the wedding, I was continuously asked by vendors when they would receive the timeline and when they should arrive, because it had not been communicated. We even received comments from some of the vendors about her lack of communication. When Carin was asked about this, she claimed the timeline had been sent ten days prior (vendors confirmed it was not sent), and used the excuse that she was having email difficulties. Because of this delay we were also unable to build the timeline for our DJ and MC before our wedding day. Carin's lack of communication created a great deal of extra unnecessary stress before my wedding day, which is what I originally hired her for to alleviate.
Fast forward to us arriving at the wedding venue (we live out of state), and to our surprise there was construction at our venue creating a giant eyesore in our reception space! Given, the onus of this majorly falls to the wedding venue, but Carin had ample opportunities to mention this critical fact to us and did not.
After the wedding when Carin was confronted about not meeting expectations, instead of acknowledging her mishaps she instead defended them by providing reasoning she did her job in other areas (ex: recommending vendors within our budget).
All in all, Carin did a fantastic job on the DAY of our wedding. I would not recommend Carin to future brides for month of coordination, but I would recommend her for day of coordination.
I booked Carin after booking my venue (Pierre's in Islamorada) and talking to a couple different wedding planning companies. Talking with Carin was refreshing and fun, coming from ...
someone who had no desire to plan a wedding and had no idea what to do! Since the venue had a select list of vendors they use and I already had some in mind, we decided on going for the "Holding Hands" package where Carin would help me with everything decor and the month before planning. Let me tell you that this was the best decision I made during planning!! Carin had the patience of an angel as I kept changing my mind and executed exactly what I wanted, even though I'm terrible at describing what I envision! The most helpful aspect was definitely having her the month before. While you think all the planning is done, Carin was able to take off the stress of timelines, contracts, payment dates, confirming arrival times, coordinating all the vendors and SO MUCH more. The day of the wedding went smoothly, I got to enjoy myself and not stress!!! Don't second doubt getting a wedding planner and don't second doubt hiring Carin, Wendy, and crew!!! Thank you ladies for making sure the happiest day of our lives went flawlessly!
Let me start by saying how incredibly fortunate we were to have chosen Wendy as our planner! She was the BEST. Our perfect day would not have been what it was without her. She was ...
extremely organized and didn’t skip a beat throughout the whole process. She quickly responded and followed up on emails, gave honest recommendations, reassured us if we had any concerns, and was there the day of with her team to make sure everything ran smoothly. Thank you, Wendy!
Wendy was our wedding planner and was exceptional from start to finish! From the beginning she took the time to get to know us and our vision for our wedding and then miraculously ...
made it happen without one hiccup! Every detail for our three day event was thought through with meticulous attention and every vendor she matched us with was extraordinary. Wendy made the entire process easy and stress free - we honestly could not have done it without her! Her assistants, Kim and Tisa, also went above and beyond. Many of our guests commented to us that it was the most amazing, most beautiful and overall best wedding they had been to! And every guest raved about Wendy, which says something!
We are so grateful for Wendy throughout our wedding planning process and the day of! We loved all our vendors that she recommended and everything went so smooth and perfect on our ...
wedding day! We did a lot of DIY decor, and Wendy saw our vision for what we wanted. I absolutely LOVED how everything looked. Our family and friends kept saying “you have an awesome wedding planner!” They are great at what they do!! Thank you!!

lly took the time to help ensure that our wedding was everything we could have wanted! I really do not think our wedding would have gone as smoothly as it had without their help and I am so grateful for them! Thank you ladies again, it truly was the best day ever!!
Carin and Wendy were absolutely the greatest planners in Key Largo! They made me feel so comfortable and confident that they had everything taken care of! I had zero doubts that I ...
could rely on them for vendor suggestions and they understood our vision better than we could've explained. HIGHLY recommend!!
Carin was/is the best ever. I first began our engagement with the "day of planning" which is where you engage all your vendors, sign all your contracts, and make all your payments...
, and then 30 days before the wedding, she takes over. I very quickly found the value in upgrading to a full planning. We already had our venue, but I became overwhelmed very quickly trying to plan a destination wedding in a place that I was not familiar with, and Carin to the rescue! She took my pinterest board and my dreams and make them a reality. I didn't have to worry about anything, she negotiated all the contracts, checked the final payments when we were done, and just told me when I had to pay people and where I had to be and when.
I couldn't have asked for a better planning and day of experience. She truly threw the wedding of a lifetime and all her suggestions were so on point. She even had her dad make a framed rose gold piece of sheet metal for our pineapple name magnets for our guests! Carin goes above and beyond to make your day everything you could ever want it to be, don't hesitate for a second to call her.

nt we met with Carin to learn more about her and the services she offered, we knew she would be the right person to help us plan our wedding. Carin & Wendy are both extremely knowledgeable about the Florida Keys area and all the local vendors. They were so helpful in setting up appointments, tastings, and vendor meetings for us and ensuring we chose the best vendors for our budget and style. Through their help, I felt like I was able to establish relationships with each of our vendors and not feel like "just another bride" coming through.
When our venue was destroyed by Hurricane Irma in Fall 2017, and we had to find a new location just 4 months before the wedding, Carin was able to help us find a new venue that we loved even more than the first venue. I don't know what we would have done without her help - her expertise of the area and her inside knowledge of the state of the Keys after the hurricane was invaluable.
On the weekend of our wedding Carin & Wendy were there every step of the way, helping with set-up and break-down, and ensured everything ran smoothly. Throughout our wedding weekend I was truly able to sit back and watch it all happen and soak up every moment. Choosing to work with Carin for full-wedding planning was the best and most-important decision we made for our wedding.
Best decision we ever made was hiring Carin. She did a wonderful job and I don't know what I would have done without her. Worth every penny.. would give her 10 stars if I could!!

as much help being a bride from out of town planning a destination wedding. I was a "do it myself" bride and Carin made all of my projects and decor come together and look absolutely beautiful. I forgot champagne for the champagne toast and a couple candles for the end of the aisle and Carin made sure I did not stress and both were taking care of. I would recommended everyone to use Carin. She is not only great to work with but an awesome person.

over to her - she was patient, thorough, and truly went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. We made or brought in almost all of our own decor, and gave Carin creative license to set it up however she thought would be best. I was amazed when I saw the final result - I couldn't believe how beautifully it all came together! Even after the wedding, she continued to take care of little details like returning the cake stand to the baker, so we didn't have to worry about it. We were blown away by how fun, beautiful, and amazing our wedding was, and we owe so much of that to Carin!

ot only did she have great creative ideas that exemplified decor I shipped down, she set up all our tables and chairs and let my family relax the day of. She thought of EVERYTHING. It was key to have her on the day of the wedding and I am so thankful I did.

ed our wedding in less than a year, at a location we never set eyes on in person until two days before our wedding! So there were definitely some stressful times!! But our wedding was more than we could have ever hoped for. And Carin helped us make that possible. There were so many unknowns for us throughout the planning process but anytime I felt uneasy about something, Carin was there to ease my mind! Carin responded to my emails promptly no matter how important or silly my question was. My mind was put even more at ease when we finally arrived to FL the Tuesday before our wedding and got to meet Carin in person. We hired Carin as more of a "day of coordinator", although she did much more prior to us arriving in FL- answered emails, gave referrals and tips, along with advice when asked. But her "day of" coordinating went into full effect that Tuesday, days before our actual wedding. From then on I didn't have to communicate with any of the vendors or really worry about anything!! Carin planned our time line based on what we wanted to happen during our wedding day, and she was there every step of the way making sure things flowed perfectly! She was with us during our rehearsal to make sure everyone was aware of what they needed to do and she was there the entire night of the wedding making sure everything went according to plan (even though she was sick!!) Overall we loved Key Destination Weddings & Events. Carin was amazing, and more than a wedding planner/coordinator, she became a friend!! She is an all around great person- knowledgeable, honest, patient and reliable! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding planner in The Keys!!

d a beach wedding, but thank goodness I had Carin because she made everything amazing! She created the perfect timeline for my wedding and made sure that everything ran smoothly. She also made sure that I had the most beautiful center pieces and she added so many amazing details that just made everything perfect. I could have never done any of it without her!!! She gave me my dream wedding, plus more!!!

so that you enjoy every moment of your day. By the day of the wedding, she feels like your best friend. Her connection with vendors is like no other and she can get discounts for her clients that no one else can get. She's simply AMAZING!

day of coordinator for my wedding. She went above and beyond to make sure everything turned out perfect (even went to Miami to pick up suspenders when my husband misplaced a pair of the groomsmen's!). At the end of the night both my husband and I told her that there was absolutely nothing we would have done differently. She listened to everything we wanted and made it happen. At one point, there was even a rain scare which she ordered extra tents just in case and I didn't even know about it. She was everything you could want in a wedding planner/day of coordinator and more! Thank you again Carin for helping make our day so special!!

help me the rest of the way. She took charge where I needed her and made sure everything was done. I would go ask her a question and whatever it was - she had already done it. Nothing was forgotten about - in fact, she came up with things that I didn't think of. I could breathe so easy and enjoy this wonderful weekend like a mother-of-the-bride should. She helped make this wedding BETTER than perfect. Thank you so much Carin!! I would highly recommend her!

anning the details. Carin quickly put my mind at ease by taking the time to listen to what our vision for our wedding day was. She was very organized and methodical without lacking in lots of creativity. She knew we wanted the fun elements of a Key West and beach wedding with the sophisticated atmosphere of a black tie event. We were able to share thoughts via telephone, text, email and pinterest and she always made sure to involve my groom. Once she knew what we were looking for she made great suggestions on everything from a unique unity ceremony to custom ways to display place cards. When we couldn't be in Key West meeting with vendors, Carin was there. All our vendors had no problems working with her and her response time was spot on. I had no worries about the event in the planning stages at all. The weekend of the wedding Carin was behind the scenes making sure rehearsal was set up (she decorated our room for us) and that all parties were where they needed to be doing what they needed to. She made sure everything was as we wanted it and was able to correct mishaps as they came up. She even helped manage a sensitive family issue that had been giving me anxiety. Our wedding was definitely made of all the things I had been dreaming of since I was a little girl and Carin played a huge role in that. The perfect wedding planner for the perfect day. My husband and I would highly recommend her for any event.
Wow! Thank you Carin! I had Carin as my "day-of" coordinator and could not have been happier. What they say is true- hire a coordinator! It's worth it. I hired Carin from Key Largo...
for my wedding in Key West. Although she was not familiar with the venue, she adapted well, utilizing the space efficiently. She relieved a lot of stress on the day of that as a bride you do not have time to deal with. I was able to relax in my room, get ready with my bridesmaids, and only worry about myself. Before the wedding, she was more than willing to meet with me on several occasions to go over details and find out what was important to us. I was the first of my friends to get married, and so I had little advice on things. Carin was very knowledgeable on what to expect, what traditionally happens, and even pricing of things like flowers, cakes, etc. I could not have been happier! Thank you!
