Kristen Gosselin, MEM, CMP, is an award winning event planner and designer. She has established a reputation for excellence and is regarded as one of the country's leading experts in sustainable events. While she is a Massachusetts native, she graduated from San Diego State University’s Payne School of Management where she earned her master’s degree in Meeting & Event Management (MEM) in 2020.

Our experience with Kim & the KG team was nothing short of outstanding.
Every aspect of the planning process was executed with an extraordinary level of care. They listened to all of our disjointed ideas, and transformed our vision into a reality that exceeded every expectation. The process was so organized, and I never worried anything would fall through the cracks.
I also feel it’s important to highlight the the kindness and warmth they brought to every interaction. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Kim’s reassuring demeanor and genuine enthusiasm made the process so fun.
Day of, it was evident that Kim & her team put in so much effort and time to ensure that every aspect of our special day was flawless. Their hard work and commitment to excellence were evident in every detail.
If you are looking for a planning team who is attentive, reassuring, organized, exceptional, and absolute joy to work with- please look no further! I would of course give 6 stars if it were possible :)
My husband and I, as well as our families, could not possibly recommend KG Events & Design more!!!! Friends and family often commented on how they were shocked at how I wasn't stressed the year leading up to our wedding, or even our wedding weekend itself. And I would have the same answer every time - it's because of KG Events & Design. From the initial planning phases, to the design aspect, the tastings and finishing touches, I was never alone in any part of decision making. I am very indecisive in my nature! I was in constant communication with our lead planner Meg, who always made me feel assured and confident every step of the planning process. If you ask my Mom, out of all of the vendors we hired, KG Events & Design was the best investment, hands down. As mentioned, Meg was our lead planner, but every single team member was equally easy to work with, organized, detail oriented, and extremely professional. In deciding if we would hire KG Events shortly after we got engaged, we had spoken to someone that works in downtown Edgartown, who said: "Everything KG touches turns to Gold". He was spot on.
Kim, Kristen and the entire KG team were absolutely amazing to work with! From securing vendors to helping us really think about the elements of the day that were most important to us, Kim was always on it. Their expertise in vendor selection really made the difference, everyone they recommended were so awesome to work with! The KG team made the planning process a breeze by offering flexible meeting times and always keeping a calm energy. The week leading up to the wedding would have felt so different without this group of women. They had everything covered and made sure that we were able to stay present and enjoy our day. The attention to detail and care Kim & team put into the day absolutely blew my mind! They thought of everything, ice cold towels when the dance floor got a little too hot, making sure my husband and I were fed, and even getting my mom her favorite kind of cake (her birthday was the day of the wedding) for a dance floor surprise. I was truly in awe of how much thought was put into everything, all without my asking. I would do the wedding 100 times over but only with the KG events team, they really made the day incredibly special and I could not recommend them enough!
Hiring KG Events & Design was the best decision we ever made to plan and organize our wedding weekend! Meghan and the entire team are incredibly dedicated, organized, hardworking and most importantly, kind and beyond easy to work with. When there was an issue - I always knew we would be ok because of these amazing women! We had to change our Rehearsal dinner and Welcome Party venue just weeks before our wedding - and you would never know based on how seamlessly the change was. They left us feeling at such ease, especially planning a wedding on an island when we could not be there all the time. Months later and we are still getting comments about how incredible the weekend was; organized, beautiful and seamless. We could not be more grateful to this amazing team of ladies! I could not recommend Meghan and the entire KG Event Team enough for planning your wedding for you!
Hands down the best choice we made during the wedding process (besides deciding to get married!) was choosing KG Events. I know many people who were so relieved when their wedding was over because they hated the planning process...but we were actually sad because we loved working with Kim and the KG team!!! They were always kind, responsive, and helpful. The week of the wedding, Kim and the Team could not have been more amazing. They were so organized and helped us get through all the last minute stressors. Day of the wedding they were absolutely invaluable. Many of our guests told us how amazing they were! We truly could not say enough good things about Kim, Kristen, and the KG Team, and we'd recommend them to anyone!!!
Kim and the KG Team were absolutely fantastic. From keeping on top of everything in the planning stages, to executing our wedding in the midst of a hurricane - so professionally and carefully that I honestly barely remember the storm - there wouldn't be other event planners I would want to work with! They made everything look so beautiful, too!
Kim and the KG Team were incredible! They made our wedding day more than we could have ever imagined. Not only are they creative and organized, they know the vendors and wedding scene on Martha's Vineyard so well, making the hiring, billing and execution of our wedding seamless. Kim was always professional, honest and responsive. To top it off, our wedding ended up being the day hurricane Ian arrived to the northeast- the KG team was more than prepared to make changes, provide umbrellas and made us feel at ease despite the worst weather New England has to offer. I would recommend them without hesitation for your next event!
Meghan and the KG team were, in a word, amazing! Their warmth, understanding, and talent ensured that our wedding was flawless. They are special people with such calm energy that added to the affair in more ways than one. I would, without a doubt, recommend KG Events, to others!
Kim and the KG Team helped me and my Husband have the most amazing day of our lives! Kim was amazing from the very first meeting through the final walk-through of the cleaned-up reception site. She was able to help us secure the best vendors in a very competitive and fast-paced market; helping us pull off our must-haves while also helping us figure out the best way to work in items from our wish list. Kim was excellent at managing the large number of vendors we worked with and keeping everyone aware of the timelines and expectations for our wedding weekend.
Throughout the entire year and a half planning process, the KG Team kept track of and executed thousands of moving parts and clearly communicated to us what we needed to do, when we needed to do it by, and often offered us alternatives we would never have thought of on our own. The level of detail in our design board and timeline made us feel 150% confident leading up to the wedding, and on the day-of I can genuinely say we didn't worry about a single thing.
Speaking of the day-of, the extra touches, attention to detail, and outstanding level of forethought Kim and the team provided took our wedding to the next level. From bringing in unique design details, like adorable vases to hold our drink stirrers, to setting up a water bottle station for our guests to rehydrate after a long night of dancing; we were delighted every time we turned our heads. They made sure we got to try of all the passed hors d'oeuvres and specialty drinks, helped us find time in the schedule to be together and just take in the day, and were all-around just the best hype women you could ask for.
Our wedding events spanned multiple days and three different venues and it went off not only completely seamlessly, but also beautifully. You absolutely will not regret working with KG for your next event.
Kim at KG Events & Designs was the Event Manager for my daughter's wedding in Martha's Vineyard. We all loved working with Kim and the entire KG team. Kim was organized and always stayed calm — and she kept me calm with her attention to every detail. There were a lot of “moving parts” with transportation, multiple events and all out of town guests. With all credit to the KG Team, everything ran smoothly and perfectly the entire wedding weekend.
During the planning process, Kim was so flexible as my daughter and her fiancé live in Chicago, I was in CA for the winter and Kim in MV — so we were scheduling meetings in three time zones. Kim set up meetings for evenings and made herself available in order to make it easier for everyone else.
Overall, my daughter’s wedding was perfect and beautiful. We cannot thank Kim and her team enough for helping make the weekend absolutely amazing.
It is hard to put into words how amazingly talented and extraordinarily special Meghan and the entire KG Events & Design team is! KG Events has been near and dear to my heart for many years, so it is was truly a dream come true having them design and coordinate our special day. The entire team’s work ethic, attention to detail, communication style, vendor selection, and execution is unmatched in the industry, leading to the most perfect wedding weekend we ever could have imagined! Meghan is one of the most compassionate and genuine human beings I have ever had the pleasure of working with! She somehow managed to make the entire daunting planning process feel seamless, fun, and stress-free. We had the great pleasure of working with Meghan and the KG team for our daughter's wedding on the Vineyard 2 weeks ago, and it could not have been more perfect! The KG Event process is comprehensive, structured and personalized. Meghan is very organized, gently directive, warm and fun to be with. She is a true professional. She made what otherwise could have been a stressful experience, frankly enjoyable and fun for our daughter/the bride and for us. KG's access to phenomenal venders was also very important to the success of our event. Kristin is a very talented designer, and we very much appreciated her input as well. Kim at KG Events & Designs was the Event Manager for my son's wedding last weekend in Martha's Vineyard. She was a pleasure to work with and did an AMAZING job organizing, designing and managing all aspects of the wedding events. The KG team - Kristen, Kim, Meghan, Bri, and the rest of the staff, did an excellent job throughout the planning process, The Wedding Ceremony and Reception were beautiful and appeared to go off without a hitch! Their knowledge and expertise were key to the success of the wedding events!
This is your sign to hire KG Events! Kim and the KG Team are the best. They transformed my ideas of what I thought my wedding could be/look like into an event that was beyond my imagination. The team has the best vendors and I felt so comfortable trusting KG’s taste (and their preferred vendors) and execution every step of the way. Planning a 150 person wedding weekend from February 2020-august 2021 with my husband and I working too much (and missing many many wedding emails, sorry!) and living off island I’m sure was no easy feat for KG events but they were always so helpful, poised, and armed with a cheerful can do attitude. And on the wedding weekend we had a rehearsal, welcome beach party, rehearsal dinner, wedding/reception, and after party all managed by KG with truly unparalleled event management/execution/coordination. I’ve never seen anything like it. At the end of the wedding I can’t count the number of guests who came up to my husband and I and exclaimed “best wedding ever!” And we can’t help but agree.
Kim and the entire KG Team are extraordinary! From day one Kim was extremely diligent, knowledgeable, creative and made the entire experience personal and fun. Anything was possible with their team at the helm. Kim even worked her magic to hunt down a large order of our favorite chairs in the eleventh hour (off island nonetheless) to complete our dream setup! Meghan and the entire KG Team are incredible. If you are planning a wedding on Martha's Vineyard, it is a no brainer. KG should be your first call. They are organized, knowledgeable, creative and fun to work with - and know everyone on island. They were always thinking ahead, coming up with plan B and C and made what could have been a stressful experience seamless and fun. Our wedding was not an easy one to plan as it was in a field at our house in Chilmark (requiring us to bring everything in and create it from scratch) during a pandemic. We would not have been able to do it without them.
Kim and the entire KG Events team were amazing. Forced to deal with regulations due to COVID, they made the entire planning process across all our vendors seamless. They were very professional and fun to work with. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for help planning their dream wedding.
KG events are truly amazing. I had next to no idea where to start and KG events provided an unbiased but extremely helpful perspective on venues, size, and options. Working with them through planning to week and day of was a dream. Their entire team is so knowledgeable, responsive and reliable (and also just genuinely cool people). They made our day a BREEZE and although they remained mostly invisible our close friends and family even commented how lovely and helpful they are.
Meghan & the KG Team are absolutely amazing! Not only were they incredibly organized, professional, and kind during our normal wedding planning process, but they also went above and beyond to help transition our wedding to an entirely new date because of the pandemic. I am still getting compliments about the attention to detail at our wedding, which I can confidently say is 100% because of the KG Team.
Kristen and the entire KG Events team were professional and essential, from start to finish- and our events were perfect! Like many, we planned for a first date then had to re-plan due to Covid. Kristen guided every step of the way, understood the vendors offerings extremely well and kept up to the minute status of what CDC and the State would allow. Hiring KG events to help us re-plan our COVID delayed wedding was the best decision we could have made! After postponing 9 months, we were left confused, bummed and demotivated. After talking to the KG team, they helped us feel excited and optimistic that no matter what, we would have a wedding that left us feeling happy and excited!! They picked up all the pieces from the original plan and hit the ground running.
They handled every single hurdle (and let me tell you, there were tons!) with such professionalism, grace, optimism and with a problem solving attitude! The rules for our event were changing up until the day before, and I was never worried that the KG team and Kim, would simply figure it out for us. The left us feeling so at ease. They brought my vision to life beyond perfectly, kept us on track with our budget and payments, offered very welcome suggestions throughout the planning process and overall, just really understood our vibe. I wish we could have our wedding day over again and again, because it really was so perfect.
Did I mention it POURED rain on our wedding day? Well, you'd never know bc the KG team just kept smiling, adjusted plans without me ever knowing, and still pulled off the perfect day. If I could give them more than 5 stars I really would! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone in need of a planner, they will treat you with such respect and attention and ensure your day is PERFECT!
We recently utilized the team at KG Events & Design to plan our Daughter’s wedding on Martha’s Vineyard. Simply put, they were outstanding to work with, suggested numerous ideas to make the event special and we could not have been more satisfied. From the early stages of lining up the basics (location, caterer, band etc) thru planning the final details, they took the lead and made certain everything was coordinated and organized. They have a great knowledge of all the vendors and service providers on the island and coordinated all the details accordingly. For the wedding weekend itself, they prepared a detailed daily plan and made certain the event came off perfectly.
We can’t recommend them highly enough for planning large or smaller events. They are an outstanding team and we would use them again without hesitation.
COVID threw a wrench in our wedding plans, but Kim and the KG Events team helped us through every step to find a new date (October 2020), move our vendors, change the format, and reduce the guest count, while making sure that the event stayed as beautiful and special as we had initially dreamed. The team even kept their calm through the wild windstorm that took place during the wedding weekend. It was amazingly reassuring to know that they had everything under control!
KG Events was the reason we even were able to have a wedding in September of 2020. The team was so accessible and approachable from the moment we enlisted their help in February of 2020. We worked directly with Kim who made the process so easy even despite the global pandemic. We were shifting our plans up through the last week and literally had 3 weddings planned fully (all by them) as the world continued to shift. Kim and the rest of the team were calm and collected throughout the entire process and kept it enjoyable for us as they helped us navigate a difficult time. The weekend/day of services were beyond what we could have ever anticipated. They felt like friends by the end of it all and we couldn't recommend them more for anyone planning a wedding.
Last year, we worked with KG Events & Design for our pre-wedding beach party, which was amazing; so we reached out to them this summer for some ideas. Kristen and Meghan planned a beautiful sunset dinner on Fuller Street Beach for our family of five. Pre-dinner photographs, a beverage area, adorable dinner table with cushion seating on the sand, delivery of great take-out food.....all of it was terrific. Our family felt quite special, and we were absolutely safe. We had a stunning sunset, too And, all of the clean-up was handled! A five-star evening for sure. Thank you, KG Events & Design!
Kim and Kristen worked, and re-worked this on-and-off again Covid wedding and never gave up on the process! They created the most spectacular wedding in the most difficult circumstances and they did it with a smile the whole time! They could not have worked harder to make it the best possible day for the bride and groom and every guest. Perfection.
Kristen and her team are amazing! They set up the cutest beach picnic for my husband and me this summer. They were very communicative and able to go above and beyond my expectations. The entire set up was magical and would definitely recommend her for any special event big or small!
Kristen and her team planned two of our most special evenings of the entire summer. They completely understood the sort of night we were hoping for and thought of every detail to make it a reality. Kristen and her team were amazing to work with! They planned our dream wedding and made it so the planning process was fun for us and not stressful. My husband and I had a vision in mind but are not DIYers or very creative, but Kristen got to know us and picked up on our vision over the planning process. She brought it to life without much guidance from us. We wanted most of our vendors to be local to Martha's Vineyard and she picked most of them for us and they were all awesome. My vision changed a lot since the beginning of planning and Kristen was able to make all the different ideas and visions come to life. I wasn't very good at putting what I wanted into words and she was still able to understand me and stay with me through the entire process. Let me tell you about the best wedding coordinators in the biz...Kristen and Meghan of KG Events&Design exceeded my expectations in every single way for our Maui wedding and made my wedding day beyond what I ever thought possible. I had a lot of moving parts with a lot of our family and friends pitching in their talents for our big day (caterers, musicians, calligrapher, bartenders, chefs, etc)and Kristen navigated everything so beautifully and kept me on track every step of the way. I would have been lost without her! My jaw dropped to the ground when I showed up to the venue. Kristen and her team have such style and impeccable taste in design. The place looked like a dreamland and I will never forget it! Meghan was our day-of coordinator and she had everything locked in so perfectly that I never once had to worry about a single thing the whole day. Talk about a no-stress wedding day!! I never thought that was even possible. The most stressful part was getting my vows written in time! I am so thankful for all that they did for us-they are the most professional, organized and FUN gals to head your wedding day and I cannot sing their praises enough! Kristen and Meghan and every single person on the assembled team in Maui were amazing. We had a lot of family participation and they were so great at coordinating all the many moving pieces. They thought of everything and every event was just perfect. I was so impressed with their organization and attention to detail and mostly just how wonderful they are to be around and how they helped us all to relax and thoroughly enjoy our entire time.
EVERYTHING, down to making sure everyone was having a good time, was thought out. The team at this event were punctual, well coordinated, and awesome.
It was a difficult group to juggle given limited space at actual wedding. The before and after parties were amazing and brought everyone who loves this couple together in celebration.
We worked with Meghan to plan our dream wedding and she was THE BEST! She was so responsive, calm, knowledgeable and such a pleasure to work with. Planning was a breeze and enjoyable and our wedding went off without a hitch and was absolutely beautiful.
This team is fantastic - organized, experienced, friendly, patient, and always with the utmost of grace (which can be important in times of high stress, battling objectives, budgets, etc). can plan the entire thing or fill in the gaps (and probably find a few you didn't know you had along the way). They nail all the details and don't miss a beat! They know the island in and out - though I know they can manage an event in any location - and have connections to anything you could imagine being part of your event. They have many events worth of experience so can handle last minute changes, glitches day of, or anything else that might come up. Hands down, highly recommend!
Where do I begin? It was never a question of who to use on MV as Kristen and her team at KG Events and Design are THEE Wedding planners. The way Kim approached our wedding was fantastic. Attention to detail and listening to the various opinions from all of our family members was spot on as detailed notes were taken and suggestions were made. Feeling so calm knowing that Kim and her team had our back, was truly the best and with vast knowledge of the island and the vendors and the Do's and Don'ts we were blessed with the most amazing wedding. Each part went flawlessly, with all the small details covered and honestly what more could you want in a team then to be made comfortable and supported at every turn. USE KG Events, they are the best at what they do. Period.
I cannot rave enough about Meghan and the whole KG team. After my original wedding venue decided they could no longer accommodate my wedding (which I had already invited 270 people to), I reached out to the KG team in full hysterics - I needed help planning the wedding of my dreams within a reasonable price point and I couldn't fathom where to begin. Meghan was like an angel sent from heaven - she organized where I couldn't, designed what I couldn't, and wrangled MV vendors that I didn't have the time to handle myself. As someone living in a major city and planning a remote destination wedding, it was an absolute necessity to have someone else full time on the job making sure everything was perfect! The wedding was a huge success and that's because of the perfection that was in every detail - when I think about my wedding weekend, there's not anything that didn't meet my super high expectations! (And Meghan stopped me from making some truly heinous design decisions that I would have hated once I saw them under my tent!) I could rave about the team for days, but I want to shout out Meghan for a few things in particular - I had a conservative Jewish wedding, and they executed everything that came along with that flawlessly. I also had some interesting family dynamics at play, and Meghan was able to run interference throughout all of it with ease. My husband's wedding present to me was hiring KG Events and it was the best money we ever spent. Do yourself a favor and make the wedding weekend the best weekend of your life - don't worry about ice, band, makeup artists. Just hire KG and let them take care of the rest! 6/5 stars
Hiring KG Events & Design was really one of the best things we did for our wedding at the Beach Plum Inn. We worked with Meghan and the week-of and day after our wedding I kept talking about how grateful I was that we had hired Meghan & KG, not only because we were planning from New York and they're pros for BPI weddings but because I knew there was so much she was taking care of behind the scenes. She (and the whole KG team) are kind and friendly and want to help you meet whatever vision it is you have for each element of the wedding. Meghan made sure we were comfortable and happy with budget for various elements before moving forward, had suggestions for anything we could need on- or off-island, and helped us stay organized and on track for everything. Well, these girls are a dream. The entire KG team are amazing, and most importantly Kim, our coordinator, best of all. As someone in the wedding industry myself, I knew what I wanted, cared about a ton of details, and was eager to have a coordinator who would let me weigh in on a lot of the planning, but take things off of my plate and run the show so I could enjoy the day. This is exactly what Kim offered! She was incredibly organized, on top of my payments and reminders for bookings, she gave me FABULOUS recommendations that only someone local to Martha's Vineyard could really advise on, and our wedding day, most importantly, went off without a hitch. She is so kind and fun and sweet, with great taste, and so patient and attentive. These girls plan weddings all over, but I can say if you are getting married on Martha's Vineyard in particular, they SHINE. It's worth every penny, and then some, for the wedding to go as well as ours did, and for the process to be so low-stress, which it was! Added bonus, our DJ and photographer and videographer, who had never worked with them before, LOVED her and told me so even weeks after the wedding was over. I’m the last person to ever use a wedding planner. But that was before I met Meghan at KG Events.
When my daughter first suggested a planner, I was really against it because I love planning parties and saw no reason why I couldn’t handle everything. And then my daughter announced she wanted to get married in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard. The list is long, but some of the ways that Meghan helped us included, working with all the vendors- from the tent people, to the caterer to the florist to even the port a potties vendor. When it came to the wedding day, I was like a guest at my daughter’s wedding which (trust me) is a wonderful thing. I didn’t have to worry about bartenders or ice, make-up artists arriving on time or even transportation of any sort. Meghan had a team that covered every aspect of the three day wedding event and she was forever smiling! The Team of Players that Meg and Kristen assembled were truly that, A Team. The Rehersal Dinner, tents for the caterers, the Florist, set up on the Beach for the vows, Dinning tables on the lawn, generator.....even the Portable Bathrooms that everyone was taking interior pictures of. All this took so much coordination, timing and people to create and always at the lead were Meg and Kristen. Always with a smile and this permeated to everyone. It was obvious that all the vendors truly enjoyed working with them. Not just because of their wonderful Good Nature but also because of their such Good Organization and Professionalism.
After the months of planning and work my only complaint to them that Wonderful Day and Night....was that the Band had to stop at the Pre determined time.
Meghan and the KG team made my wedding day and all of the planning leading up to it a dream! I live in Burlington VT but have special ties to Edgartown and having these girls there for me made planning SO much easier from afar. Meghan was able to secure every detail I hoped for and made great suggestions about things I was unsure of. She has great relationships with all of the vendors we worked with (on and off of the island) and made coordination a breeze! When we ran into a floral issue on my wedding day, she was quick to get on the phone and everything was perfect within the hour. She and her team even picked up my golden retriever from a sitter, brought her to our rehearsal Friday and ceremony Saturday, and brought her back to the sitter so none of my family, party or guests had to miss a minute of our celebrations! They went above and beyond on all counts and our wedding was perfect because of them! I couldn't recommend these girls enough!

When I interviewed KG Events & Design in February for a September wedding they were realistic, practical and professional. I brought up my concerns about a short time frame and the fact that having a reception at our home could have some logistical issues. They assured me that they could work around it! I began working with Kristen nine months before our August wedding on Martha’s Vineyard. Although our engagement was relatively short, we got our first choice of every vendor due to Kristen’s great reputation on the Island. In the beginning, Kristen helps you refine your vision for your event and she fills in the gaps with fresh, unique, and cost saving ideas. With your vision in mind, she helps you select the best vendors and she attends all the meetings and will offer her expertise, if needed. Not to mention, the regular phone calls and the meetings on island were so much fun! Kristen is professional, calm, confident and kind - what more could you ask for?!
On the week of the wedding, I felt as cool as a cucumber because I knew that the KG team was prepared. The took care of absolutely everything, they anticipated and solved potential problems before they even happened and they perfected every little detail to make our day exceed our wildest dreams. Kristen and her team are TRULY aficionados in wedding planning and have a true gift to make ideas come to life. My July 2018 wedding was absolutely breathtaking and more than I could of ever hoped for, or planned on my own. Her team is so professional and accommodating and were a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. I never had to worry once about the details coming together. I loved that Kristen had such a brilliant rapport with vendors all around the island; whenever someone found out she was my wedding planner, they all said "you have nothing to worry about, Kristen is the best of the best", and she really is! The day of, Kristen and her team were working behind the scenes to make everything perfect, and those special details really made all the difference. She eased my nerves right before walking down the aisle, and her sister Megan even helped with my intricate bustle. The team was there for any and everything I could think of, and worked closely with my MOH and other members of my bridal party so I didn't even have to be bothered with specifics and I could just focus on my day. The reason KG Events is not receiving a full 5 stars from me, is that I think they are "used" to doing bigger events/weddings, and with my 30 person wedding, I think some things were left to the end because they knew with their experience they could pull it together under time constraints. However, this left me very frustrated a week before my wedding when we were still discussing table/seating configurations, music, and the menu! I did not want to have to figure out/finalize these big pieces days before I was leaving for the island, when there had been weeks prior with no communication. This however, does not mean I would necessarily have done anything different, as I would choose Kristen and her delightful team time and time again. My wedding was soo beautiful and something out of a magazine. She is gifted and is a true professional. I hope to be able to work with her again someday, and would even throw a party on the island just so she and her team could plan it! Thank you KG Events & Design!
They were great! It rained the day of our wedding and they overall did an amazing job dealing with what could have been very stressful ( especially since we didn't have a tent) They moved our arch to our front porch and it ended up being such a special moment with the rain. They also ran around in the rain barefoot flipping all our tables and made everything still look incredible. I am so grateful!

We loved working with the Kristen and the KG Events team for our daughter's wedding weekend this past September. Our guests all said it was the best wedding they had been to! Her recommendations were spot on: florist, band, venue, dj , rentals and calligrapher as well as transportation for all our guests for 3 nights. Our full-time home is off-island and after our family decided that our daughter's wedding would be on MV, we needed a local planner. We were looking for someone with with whom we would enjoy working and was responsive, cost-conscious, organized, knowledgeable and smart. Kristen and KG seemed to have each of these attributes and more, we engaged them and they were terrific helping us develop a plan and guiding us through the process. I can not say enough good things about the KG team. We were lucky enough to work with them (specifically Meg and Kristen!) for our wedding in September. From start to finish, these girls truly think of everything and ALWAYS put their clients first. Weddings are hard work, they're so stressful, and there are so many different relationships and family dynamics to navigate. Not only did these girls put me at ease, but they also took 99% of the work off of me and just plain DID IT and did it with a smile. They are insanely organized, detail oriented and just a joy to be around. Meghan and the rest of the team were absolutely amazing!! The planning and wedding went great despite some last minute changes due to weather conditions. While the weather did change our ceremony location to my second choice, Meghan and the KG team worked with our vendors to transform the tent into a truly amazing and romantic setting. Their knowledge of local vendors was very helpful in determining who would work best for our style and budget. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional and knowledgable planner / day of coordinator! Beyond grateful for everything they did to make our day so special.
POORLY MANAGED and UNETHICAL
I hope they work out the kinks because they made the planning leading up to our wedding a nightmare and the morning of the wedding the most stressful day of my life.
We paid for full service planning and what I feel like we got was some gentle coaching leading up to the wedding and day-of coordination, which should have been 1/3 of the cost.
We had a long engagement and hired KG Events well ahead of our wedding date (first mistake). Over the first part of the two years things were 'ok' -- we had plenty of time ahead of the wedding so I didn't stress about getting things checked off my list.
When it came to crunch time about six months before the wedding many many things were still unconfirmed and I couldn't get answers to my questions from anyone. I kept being told "we've got it" and "not to worry." On two separate occasions I was told "sorry, we had a VIP pop-up event" meaning they blew off my planning for another event, leaving me on my own to figure things out. They alluded to being able to use their vast resource of adorable supplies and then when I finally pinned them down I was given a $500+ estimate for using the supplies. I ended up using most of the exact same items FOR FREE from the venue, but I had to call and find out myself that those items were available for free.
I ended up doing the research to find and pick pretty much everything myself. The "look" I was going for was shattered because they couldn't get it together the week/two weeks before the wedding and the table scapes looked terrible. We didn't have a confirmed babysitter until days before the wedding, with lots of frantic scrambling. The morning of the wedding I was furious about all the frantic scrambling my now-husband and I had to do on our own and had planned to pay the remainder of the deposit after the wedding when we could be absolutely sure that the services promised would indeed be delivered -- since our experience with them under pressure had been so poor. Kristen cornered me THE MORNING OF MY WEDDING as we were getting ready, pulled me outside and demanded payment or her services weren't going to be present that day. THE DAY OF MY WEDDING!!!
Effectively they conceded that things hadn't gone well by not charging us more than our original agreed upon amount, since the budget was so out of control, but never outwardly acknowledged the misleading with the supplies, blowing me off for months on end or the fact that I had to do so much myself.
I liked Kristen and Megan individually but would never work with them again.
Kristen and her team at KG did an amazing job planning our wedding on Martha's Vineyard. They were fun and easy to work with, and thought of all of the details that we would have otherwise forgot about. We explained that we wanted a cozy, fun atmosphere and the KG team took care of the rest. We were so impressed with their creativity and ability to work within a budget. They are the best on the island!
HIring KG Events & Design for our wedding was the best decision we made. The team is professional, organized, and on top of it all. When we had to resort to our rain backup, they coordinated every detail and transformed the ceremony location into a cozy garden oasis. I was incredibly lucky to stumble upon KG Events & Design on my phone a few weeks after my husband and I got engaged. We are both extremely organized, and one of the things that we loved most about Kristen was her extensive real time spreadsheet for the wedding budget that we could access 24/7. Since we were off island and couldn't meet with many of our Nantucket vendors ahead of signing contracts during the off-season, it was extremely important to us to trust our planner's judgement and have access to information. Kristen and her team kept us at ease with frequent calls and emails. As we got closer to the big day, her complex wedding day schedule and design deck also kept us feeling relaxed and reassured. Throughout the whole planning process, she found vendors who were incredible and really captured our essence. The week of the wedding Kristen and her team arrived early and not only answered questions from us and our vendors, but they also started answering family and guests' questions over email. This was a huge relief. During the wedding her team more than thought of everything and they were always one step ahead. They even took care of tiny and meaningful details like making us a guestbook at the last minute, putting our cake topper away in our freezer after the wedding, and leaving the cards and gifts on the dinning room table in our house. Throughout everything they were lovely to work with and never got stressed out. Make the best decision since you said "I do" and hire KG.

Emily made us cute chalkboard signs with her perfect calligraphy handwriting, and everyone commented that the floral arrangements that Kristen designed was impeccable! Taylor and KG Events did an amazing job of working with me to plan a perfect Vineyard wedding. I thought it was going to be difficult for me to plan a wedding on the east coast since I live in California but the team at KG events was so accommodating and made sure that every detail came together beautifully and easily. The staff was incredibly hands on throughout the entire wedding weekend which allowed me to enjoy the time with my family and friends and not worry about anything. The wedding was honestly more beautiful and fun than I even imagined it would be. I am so grateful to Taylor and the whole staff at KG Events. So planning a wedding on Martha's Vineyard was left completely in the hands of Taylor and the staff at KG events. Every single thing about it was perfect! KG Events is simply the best! I worked with Kristen, Meghan and team for my wedding at the Wychmere Beach Club in August. My wedding would not have gone on without them. The weeks leading up to my wedding Meghan handled all of the communication with my vendors and put together a flawless timeline. As a bride I cannot explain how helpful that was. During the planning process she worked with the onsite coordinator at Wychmere to make sure I would have everything I needed and anything extra I wanted she took care of. Having Kristen on site the day of was such a relief as I knew that she could take care of any issues that arose. She always goes the extra mile whether it was bringing along a surprise item to the venue or getting my car packed at the end of the night. I should also mention that Kristen's eye for design is just so impressive as she did all of my flower arrangements herself and then brought them over on the ferry to the venue. They looked like they were straight out of a magazine.
