We just had our wedding at the Kimberton Inn last week, and we are OVER THE MOON with how amazing everything was. From the moment we found the venue and met with Jason/Jeff, we knew it was the venue for us, and every interaction from there out just reinforced our decision.
Our wedding was a dream! Jason/Jeff and the entire staff are complete professionals. They know exactly what they are doing, and bring alllll their years of experience and expertise to the table to truly advise on what's best for the type of crowd and type of wedding you are hoping to have.
Everything from the venue's impeccable Christmas decorations to the food, cake, music, and flow was 10/10! Our guests cannot stop talking about how magical the day was, and how special that venue is. We will be back every year on our anniversary!!
Truly, THANK YOU, to the Kimberton Inn for making our wedding the best day of our lives. You knocked it out of the park!!

We used the Kimberton Inn for our rehearsal dinner which was about 55 people—everything was incredible!!! I grew up about a mile down the road from here and had somehow never eaten here; we will be back for dinner! They made special menus for our dinner & we had our own private room. The food was fantastic & the service impeccable. We were a covid couple who rescheduled by a year-they gave no problems when we needed to drastically change the dinner date, which is so appreciated-venues like this who respond well during unprecedented situations deserve the most consideration for future events!! My parents made a slideshow to show at the rehearsal & they were accommodating with showing this as well. Thank you so much for an amazing evening!!

We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding reception! From the very beginning, Jeff’s expertise, attention to detail, and incredible hospitality helped to create an experience that was so memorable and flawlessly executed. Jeff, the general manager and owner, was a true pleasure to work with, and we were grateful for his direct communication and dedication to excellent service. He was very helpful in strategizing how we could best achieve the day we wanted (such as using the cocktail hour at the inn to greet our guests instead of having a receiving line right after the outdoor ceremony in the August heat). He also graciously accommodated elements that were important to us, such as having his staff set up our handmade and detailed centerpiece arrangements. The whole staff worked so hard to ensure that the day stayed on schedule, no glass was empty, and that every member of our party enjoyed themselves. We received so much amazing feedback on the superb quality of service, the gorgeous venue, and the incredible meal (especially the salmon and crabcakes). We also appreciated the venue rates, very reasonable for providing delicious food and drink (including top shelf liquors) to 120 people, presented to us upfront with no hidden site fees. We had heard only good things about the Kimberton Inn, and are excited to recommend it to others and return for many anniversaries to come!

Our wedding at the Kimberton Inn was absolutely flawless. We got married this October and could not have been more pleased with the service provided by Jeff (the owner) and Jason (our wedding coordinator). They answered every question we could have possibly had, even measuring a table for us over the phone at 9:20pm during dinner service. I cannot express how highly we recommend this venue to any couple looking for a venue. The food was phenomenal- not one of our guests was disappointed. We also had quite a few guests with food allergies and they were accommodated without a second thought. What we loved the most was how personable the entire staff was, especially Jeff. It is not often you see the owner of a business doing brunt work, but Jeff was there every step of the way, including the day of the wedding! He served our guests, assisted with the ceremony, and took care of everything. At the end of our wedding we hit a snag with our debit card and Jeff and Jason did all they could to take the stress away. They were so trusting of us and treated us as people, not just a sale or a profit. They assured it would all work out and they were not worried about it, even letting us pay the next day. My husband and I feel as though the night was perfect and if we could do it again, we would go back to Kimberton in a heartbeat.

My husband Ryan and I got married at the Inn over the summer. The Inn has always had a special place in my heart because I had been going there since I was a little girl. When I got engaged I knew right away that I wanted to have my wedding at the Inn. Our experience from start to finish was nothing short of a fairy tale. Jeff, the Inn owner, was detail oriented, calm and very helpful. Jeff took the time to make sure we had all of our wishes met and he exceeded the expectations. The wait staff could not have been more lovely. ALL of our guests raved over how nice and professional everyone at the Inn was and since the wedding they have not stopped talking about the delicious food. It blew us and everyone else away. It truly feels so wonderful to have been able to give our guests such a memorable night and we couldn't have done it without the Inn. My husband and I will forever be thankful we had our wedding at the Inn.

We had the most special day when we had our wedding at the Kimberton Inn this June! I am a corporate event planner so I am well versed in the logistics of planning outside events and I knew what I wanted from earlier on in our wedding planning process and my budget but boy was I surprise to find even my local vendors slipping in additional fees and minimum requirements as soon as I told them this was for my ‘wedding’. I approached multiple places with what I wanted and I was continually pointed toward a ‘package’ and all these parameters that I had to fufill for them. I was shocked and taken aback as I didn’t want to be treated as if my wedding was something that was in mass production in a factory and I felt that they should be the ones fulfilling my needs for what my vision was. I was so grateful when someone recommended the Kimberton Inn. I immediately looked at their website and got a great feeling about the space and the offerings. Just as I had with a few previous venues, I used the general e-mail field on the website. I got a response from Jeff (the amazingly wonderful owner) that same day and before we got into details he said something that no one so far has said- Let’s make some time to talk about your special day and what you want, aside from all that you see on the website.
I wanted a Saturday brunch wedding for no more than (60) guests and all other places has told me this was impossible that they only had afternoon/evening weddings on Saturdays or I had to guarantee at least (100) guests or that I would be one of 2 or 3 weddings that day among various mysterious ‘facility fees’ that they couldn’t explain away. Jeff was kind and well informed from the beginning and he took the time to discuss what we wanted and ask us questions that made us continue to evolve our ideas for our wedding. We toured the Kimberton and saw how Jeff interacted with his staff and at the end, he customized a rough draft of our contract and we continued to change and add to it up until a couple weeks before our wedding. On June 3rd, I felt completely at ease as everything was a whirl around me and I knew that the Kimberton would handle everything perfectly and be memorable for us and our guests and even months later we are still hearing about how much everyone loved it. My grandmother is 85 and has been to many weddings and is not shy to share her opinions and she can not say enough about it and has already been back on her own for brunch!
Our brunch menu was customized for us from the Kimberton’s own regular menu and our guests were enchanted by the event space and commented on the warmth and togetherness of the reception. I was able to have and do everything that I had always envisioned for my wedding right down to having a classical pianist for our reception and NOT having to share my special day and special venue with any other bride. The grounds offered a beautiful backdrop to our wedding photos and the old time elegance of the inn added to our romantic intimate vibe that we wanted to share with our guests. My husband and I can not say enough about how poised and efficient the staff are, how delightful the atmosphere, or how much we were able to do with our budget with Jeff’s guidance and honesty- he knows what he is doing! If you want a beautiful and timeless wedding with all the attention to detail and 5 star food and service without the wedding factory feel- Look no further than the Kimberton Inn!!!!

Aside from saying "Yes" to marrying my best friend, choosing The Kimberton Inn for our wedding venue was one of the best decision I've ever made! Planning our big day was a walk in the park, all thanks to the incredibly competent, compassionate, devoted and simply marvelous work done by everyone at The Kimberton.
Price: INCREDIBLY affordable, especially with the quality of service, food and overall experience you receive. No surprises at the end with the bill. They are up front with fixed costs, and work with you to find the best options that fit your budget.
Staff: Simply put, they are experts. Attentive, professional, friendly and accommodating.
Food: Out-Of-This-World! Everything is prepared then and there. You get the same quality of dining you would if you went there for a dinner for two. Our guests raved about the food for months after our wedding!
Planning & Coordination: During a time that can easily become cumbersome and overwhelming, Jeff and Jay never let you forget what you are actually celebrating. They address any/all questions and concerns promptly. They provide you with a clear outline of what to expect. They offered their expert opinions, but encouraged us to make decisions on what WE envisioned for our day. They made planning for a wedding FUN and EASY!
I am looking forward to celebrating our anniversaries there for many years to come. I can't thank The Kimberton Inn enough for making our wedding day simply perfect..... beyond perfect.
I would recommend The Kimberton Inn to anyone and everyone! You can expect nothing less than perfection and excellence!

We can't say enough good things about Kimberton Inn! All of our guest have raved about the food! They loved the lamb chops, rib eye and salmon! Every dinner was cooked to perfection!! Then, the cocktail hour was fabulous and they rave about the food, drinks and service! Everyone talks about how accommodating Jeff and his staff were and how well they were treated! The wedding party was treated like royalty during pictures and the reception! Most importantly we had a lot of fun! Every detail = perfect!

The Kimberton was the ideal place for our wedding reception. We had about 80 guests and the space was perfect. Planning everything with the Jason and Jeff was absolutely a blast. My husband and I were having trouble figuring out how to have a daytime wedding on the Sabbath and Jason was able to come up with the perfect solution. The food was amazing and my guests were completely happy with everything.

We held our wedding for 100 people at the Kimberton Inn and could not be happier! Jeff, Jason, and the staff at the Inn took exceptionally good care of our party and made us feel like family. The food was terrific, the cake was perfect, and the evening ran smoothly from start to finish. What drew us to the Inn was the beauty of an elegant historic location, something that you simply cannot get at most venues. Thank you for making our wedding day dreams come true!

Our Day was PERFECT!!
My husband and I got married this past July. We did not start planning our wedding until January 2016 and I had no idea how much work that really took. As we looked at the various venues, I was getting nervous as to whether we would find the right one. Then, we were very excited to find that the Kimberton Inn hosted weddings.
My husband and I loved the Kimberton Inn as we would generally go there for Sunday brunch and were just amazed at the delicious food, the friendly service, nice atmosphere, and overall quality and consistency.
We immediately scheduled a quick meeting with Jeff Effgen, the owner, to learn more. During our meeting with Jeff, his personality put us at ease and he shared his philosophy on what it takes for a wedding to be successful. We were very happy at how much the day would include. We had the option of having the ceremony onsite along with the cocktail hour and reception.
His pricing was very much upfront and reasonable without the add-ons that we would see at other venues where you thought it could be reasonable but once you factored the add-ons in, it was outrageous. This transparency was something we appreciated so that we could assess if it was within our budget and make the right decision.
That decision was going with The Kimberton Inn. Jeff guided us the entire way through up to the day of the wedding and through the day. With the pricing per head, we were able to pick out the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres, open bar beverages (including the toast), appetizer and main course, and the cake! We also decided to have our ceremony there in front of the water wheel. Jeff was also very helpful in providing suggestions for other vendors to make the day complete including the DJ.
As a bride, I believe Jeff made this entire process a pleasant one for both myself and my husband. Taking care of the major things for the day, we could focus on the other details leading up to the day (gown, suit, invitations, flowers, etc.)
Before you knew it, July 16, 2016 had come and it was time for our big day. Jeff took care of ensuring both my husband and I did not accidentally see one another before the ceremony. He worked with getting the photographer set up as well as all details with the delivered flowers, etc. Also, given there was word of rain in the area, he kept us updated to make sure we headed out to the ceremony before any possible rain started.
Our outside wedding worked out beautifully (no rain) and then it was time for a picture with our guests on the front stairs of The Kimberton Inn (a suggestion by Jeff which will be a great addition to our guest book).
While the guests had their cocktail hour, the bridal party was outside having photos taken and Jeff's team was always out with us providing us food and drinks so we didn't miss those festivities.
Then, we were off to the party! The reception was amazing and the food was out of this world (as usual)! All of our guests were so impressed by the amazing food, atmosphere, and choice of DJ that they still tell us how much fun they had and how delicious everything was. We could not have asked for anything more. What a great start to our journey together! Thank you Jeff! You and your team made the dream of our day come true!!!

Our wedding at the Kimberton Inn was perfect! From the initial meeting until the end of the wedding night, Jeff (the owner) and Jason were there right by our side. The pay extra attention to detail. The food was absolutely delicious! The cake lady (Susan) baked the exact design of the cake off of Pinterest. Everyone loved the cake (and we went with carrot cake). I would highly recommend this wedding venue!

The Kimberton Inn is a fantastic establishment! We have always loved the food, service, and environment. It kept us returning for romantic Valentine’s Day dinners the last three years. When looking into venues for our wedding, The Kimberton Inn was not initially an establishment that we thought about. However, after looking into multiple traditional wedding/reception venues, we contacted The Kimberton Inn, and saw it as a natural fit. From our first visit with Jeff to our last, the interactions were conversational, the planning process was smooth and stress was eased. The day of our wedding was the hottest day of summer, but the Kimberton Inn staff were cool, professional, and accommodating. Jeff and his employees thought through everything, reflected our vision for the day, and executed perfectly from the delectable food and immaculate environment to the extraordinary service.

My wife and I looked at perhaps half a dozen venues for our wedding and reception. The Kimberton Inn was the first place we checked out that didn't feel like a compromise, and as a result was also the last place we looked.
There are so many great things about the Kimberton Inn, and they all start with the owner, Jeff. He is clearly an expert when it comes to running a restaurant as well as planning and managing a wedding. Jeff was extremely helpful, and made himself available throughout the entire process. His years of experience translated into a lot of useful advice on everything from entree choices to arrangement of the ceremony. Perhaps even more important, his approach to the whole experience is somewhat casual and relaxed, which was a great source of calm in the generally stressful experience of having a wedding. It was clear he knew what he was doing, and we felt very confident working with him.
After Jeff, the best thing about a wedding at the Kimberton Inn is the food. If you're like me, you've probably been to plenty of weddings with food that is either (a) portioned to satisfy small children only, or (b) is a budget buffet that doesn't make you want a second helping. A reception at the Kimberton Inn promises a third option. During and following the reception, the most common refrain we heard from our guests was about how delicious and satisfying the food was. As the Kimberton Inn is first and foremost a restaurant (4 stars on Yelp, 5 stars on Google Maps), it is no surprise that the food was superb. They also set up the cake (not sure if the baker was in-house or not), which was also top-notch. And finally, our guests also praised their selection in their open bar.
The space itself is definitely more appropriate for a wedding on the smaller side (we had about 90 guests). We had our ceremony and reception in the same room, with staff flipping the arrangement while guests are elsewhere during cocktail hour. The space is relatively modest but has a rustic yet dignified decor. It definitely lends a very intimate feeling to the proceedings, which is something we appreciated. There was still enough space for round tables that didn't feel cramped, as well as ample room for a DJ setup and dance floor. They also made their piano available for my brother to play during the ceremony.
Another great thing was how helpful they were with furnishing the reception with ornamentation. Jeff's wife happens to be excellent when it comes to centerpieces. All my wife had to do was provide her with a picture of an arrangement she liked off the internet, and she combined it with our wedding colors to create our own unique centerpieces.
Honestly, I could go on for a few pages about all of the wonderful things about our wedding at the Kimberton Inn, but you don't need to read all the minutiae. All you need to know is that if you are looking to have a small-to-medium sized wedding in the general vicinity of Valley Forge, don't waste your time looking anywhere else. Go with the Kimberton Inn, and you definitely won't regret it.

This to be was a short outdoor ceremony on the Inn's grounds, followed by a smallish reception in the restaurant's main room with about 60-70 guests. Our special situation was that the bride and groom was remote and was not able to meet live, and almost all decisions were deferred to us, the bride's parents. From the first conversation with Jeff, we were confident that the Kimberton Inn would be able to fill our needs. He was able to provide options, but just as important, gave us suggestions and asked questions that made the decisions easier for us. The restaurant is charming and small, giving our out of town guests a great impression of classic Chester County historic style. It is the opposite of a big wedding factory, giving personalized attention to us and our guests. I very much liked the idea that our guests would be asked for their meal choices at the reception, reinforcing the quality of the food that was being made at the time of the reception rather than asking our guests for meal choices weeks in advance. Jeff recommended a DJ Jeff has worked with who was familiar with the space, whom we also picked. On the day of the ceremony and reception, everything ran smoothly with Jeff politely but firmly directing the initial events. Where necessary, he asked us questions about details but always made a sensible recommendation based on his experience. The oeur d'oeuvres during cocktail hour and the actual reception meals were wonderful, just as good as you'd expect in a normal restaurant dining experience. Many of our guests went out of their way to compliment the quality of the food. I want to especially cite the extraordinary waitresses who were not only very efficient at taking orders, keeping glasses filled, and clearing the tables, but perhaps more important had a terrific attitude and smiles that I think helped make the whole day flow well. Compared to other venues we looked at, the Kimberton Inn was an outstanding value.

We had an amazing experience having our wedding ceremony and reception at the Kimberton Inn. Jeff (the owner) and his staff are extremely thorough and worked hard to give us our dream wedding. Jeff took the time to understand everything we wanted in our ceremony and reception. He met with us several times to go over every detail of our big day. You can tell how much he cares about the Inn and making your wedding day perfect. The venue itself is charming and allows for different spaces for guests to experience. Our cocktail hour was in the restaurant area which included tables and a bar area, giving guests different options for socializing. The reception room is absolutely beautiful, with its large bow windows and gorgeous fireplace. On the day of our wedding, there was a chance or rain and Jeff worked with us up until the last minute to figure out the best plan for the ceremony. Although we hoped to have it outside, the indoor ceremony was just as beautiful because the windows in the room overlook the Kimberton mill. Everything was picture perfect! The dinner was absolutely delicious!! If you've been to the Kimberton Inn for dinner, then you know the quality of their meals. Our wedding guests ordered off our personalized menus when they sat down at their tables. The food was prepared fresh and all of our guests still rave about their meals!! The staff was so hard-working and were constantly checking on our guests. And when guests got up, the staff would make sure to refold their napkins. We cannot say enough wonderful things about the Kimberton Inn. We did not have to worry about anything. Jeff was always there to check in with us and make sure we were taken care of. I would recommend the Kimberton Inn as a wedding venue to any bride-to-be!!! You will not be disappointed, Jeff is a hard working professional who prides himself on perfection. He will make your wedding day flow with ease allowing you to enjoy every minute!

We chose the Kimberton Inn not just for its obvious aesthetic allure, but also for the talents of its owner, Jeff Effgen. First of all, we couldn’t have asked for a more thorough, thoughtful, organized, insightful, and professional planner than Jeff. That’s the big takeaway when choosing the Kimberton Inn versus anywhere else: You get the experience and forward thinking of someone who has literally seen and done it all. Jeff vested quite a bit of time listening to our needs and concerns. He was patient and methodical when proposing his own suggestions and asking poignant questions. He certainly helped us to see things that we had previously not considered. And Jeff tailored the event to suit our budget while minding the many details that contributed to a wonderful event overall. Secondly, not enough can be said for the actual venue itself. We opted to have an outdoor wedding on the Kimberton Inn grounds. It was a beautiful day set amongst a gorgeous and scenic backdrop. We had approximately fifty attendees, so it was quaint and cordial. After the relatively short ceremony, we headed indoors for a pre-reception meet and greet. Jeff and his staff were as friendly and accommodating as ever. Afterwards, we gathered in the main reception room for a superb meal. Regardless of meal option, the consensus was that the food was fantastic and everything was served promptly. Again, the attention to detail (music choice/volume, décor, schedule, etc.) was spot-on. But the best part of our day was how well our guests were treated. Brandie and I made it a point to ask our friends and family how they enjoyed their time and it was universally praised…many of whom agreed that it was perhaps the best wedding they had ever attended (I realize I’m partial here, but I wouldn’t disagree at all). We didn’t want nor plan an elaborate Vegas-like extravaganza with live music, flower tossing, magic show, or whatever; we wanted a nice get-together with our closest loved ones. And that’s what we got. It was literally perfect and I simply can’t think of a single thing that fell short of our expectations. Kudos again to Jeff and his talented team!

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at the Kimberton Inn, October 10th 2015. From the first time meeting the owner, Jeff, until the last minute of our reception, we could not have asked for a better day. The very first meeting we had with Jeff lasted an hour and a half, with him explaining every single option and detail we could have if we chose to use his restaurant as our venue. He was more than willing to answer any and all questions during the entire planning process, which in itself was a breeze. I am not the pickiest bride, but Jeff was sure to ask questions and get all details that would ensure we had our best possible day ever. I was able to plan our wedding mostly from Pittsburgh and had no difficulty communicating with Jeff about our day. The day of the wedding we arrived and everything was absolutely perfect. Jeff checked in with both of us periodically, to see if we needed anything or if there was anything he could do for us. He definitely made us feel like we were for sure the most important people that day. He was diligent about time and letting us know how many guests had arrived and when it was time for the ceremony to begin. The ceremony area was transformed into our reception, all while family pictures were being taken. You actually wouldn’t have even noticed his staff turning the room over, as the moved so quickly and efficiently. Following pictures was cocktail hour and Jeff made sure to ask us if we needed drinks or anything else before heading outside to continue with photographs. We were able to make it back in before cocktail hour was over and visit with guests who, at 100+ people, had plenty of room both seated and standing to enjoy time with one another and their food and drinks. The food was absolutely to die for. Everything was absolutely delicious. Honestly the best wedding meal I have ever had. We got so many compliments about the venue itself, but mostly about how good the meal was. Every guest was stuffed. Our cake was amazing and the staff actually packaged two pieces for us to take home, since we were out of our seats when it was served. Jeff checked in throughout the evening, making sure everything was going well and we did not need anything. I am sure we could have asked for almost anything and he would have found a way to make it happen. Actually, at the end of cocktail hour we found out we were almost out of a particular beer that we had requested, that the Inn normally does not carry but had special for us, and Jeff had a staff member leave and get more so that we would have what we wanted. How many establishments would actually do this for a couple? In my opinion, not many, and he did it without even blinking. The entire wait staff kept all drinks, plates, napkins etc., filled, folded and perfect the entire evening. A lot of our guests commented on how they felt like they were taken care of and treated more than kindly at Kimberton. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking t get married, or hold a reception. Jeff and his staff are wonderful. They even stored items we accidentally left after our day, and allowed my mom to come pick them up without issue. I can’t thank everyone enough for how special out wedding day was.

We had close to 200 guests and, because of this large number, the owner, Jeff Effgen, closed the entire restaurant to the public. Therefore, we were able to have buffets throughout the Inn, two full bars, dancing in one large room as well as quieter, conversational dining areas throughout the rest of the Inn. We even had outside dining/smoking areas available. The ceremony was handled impeccably and the setting was gorgeous. The majority of our guests made it a point to tell us that the food was the best they ever had. And the desserts - amazing! The staff was friendly, exceedingly professional and attentive to every detail. Meeting with the owner and his wife (who provided the flowers) was a pleasure. The staff showed great flexibility in catering to our needs. We could not have imagined a more beautiful, fun filled and delicious experience! It was the best day of our lives. If you want elegance, attentiveness to your unique sensibilities, and friendly, personal care, the Kimberton Inn is your place! It was AMAZING!!!

Jeff and the staff at the Kimberton Inn were amazing! My wedding was even better than I imagined it would be because of the Kimberton Inn. Jeff and his staff made my day so easy it was unbelievable! The flowers provided by the Kimberton were stunning. The atmosphere was beautiful and I literally had to worry about nothing! I showed up, got dressed, got married, and had the best reception any of my guests can ever recall attending. The food was top notch, the cake was amazing (despite my reservations about having carrot cake as a wedding cake), and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend this venue for a wedding/reception location. It was literally perfect!

We got married in June 2015 and were so blessed to have had our wedding at the Kimberton Inn. It was perfect for us. My husband lived in VA at the time and me in NJ, and we were planning our wedding in PA! Ordinarily this would have been quite the challenge, but the Kimberton Inn made so much of it an ease.
First, as soon as we set foot there we just knew it was the place. It's such a beautiful romantic setting that stands on its own - no additional decor needed! It was also just the right size for our guests. And then working with Jeff was so great. He has a TON of experience and we definitely drew on this since we didn't have our families around to help us plan. Jeff was very accommodating of our schedules, reliable, dependable, kind and also provided great advice throughout.
We also had a GREAT food tasting. The food was amazing and we knew our guests would be really pleased with it. (We were sold on the Kimberton Inn before we even found out the huge added plus that they have great restaurant reviews).
Jeff's wife, Michelle, also did our flowers (which was also super convenient) and they were so BEAUTIFUL. They added such a special touch and it was clear she really took time to select and arrange the perfect flowers for us. Her talent and passion for her work was so apparent. She was also wonderful to work with.
Day of, things didn't exactly go according to plan because we ran late on our ceremonies (yes, plural – long story) but Jeff took the change in his stride and everything flowed as though it was the original plan to begin with.
Overall, you can't go wrong with the Kimberton Inn. Our guests had an amazing time and so did we! Such a blast, so much fun, and stress-free planning :) Jeff, HUGE thanks to you, Michelle, Jay and the rest of your staff once more for really making our day so special!! The Kimberton Inn did an absolutely fabulous job for us. The owner gave us excellent advice on how to think about the reception, the cocktail hour , the menus and the entertainment. We worked together to plan the event - a real partnership. The team made the whole day run like clockwork from the hors d'oevres, to the meal, to the cutting of the cake. Everyone had a fantastic time and it was everything we wanted our day to be. Also, the venue is stunning - a little bridge over a stream, a mill and a duck pond all provide a beautiful background for the pictures. They also provided my bouquet and the flowers for the reception room, which were outstanding. I highly recommend the Kimberton Inn.

My husband and I were married at the Kimberton Inn in June 2015. From our first meeting with Jeff we knew beyond a doubt that this is where we wanted to host the most special day of our lives. The Inn is a beautiful, historic, cozy gem with an amazing staff and fantastic food! We were so pleased when Jeff invited us to the Kimberton to sit and talk and have dinner and experience what it would be like on our wedding day and we were not disappointed in any way. The place is beautiful, exactly what we were looking for. It's very unique and charming not just some cold banquet hall that's just dressed up for the occasion. The Kimberton Inn is the real deal. You feel special because Jeff makes you feel special. He has an amazing attention for detail and loves to answer questions but also likes to ask a lot too! This was so very helpful to me because he brought up a lot of ideas and suggestions that I hadn't even thought of, but always being very respectful of the vision I had for our wedding day. The food is fantastic and his staff is as committed to excellent service just as much as he is! I had so many compliments from our guests as to how delicious the food was with just as many about his staff. They exceeded all my expectations in every way, exactly what you want for your wedding day. I can't thank Jeff and the Kimberton Inn enough for helping to create a day of wonderful memories that I will treasure. We will definitely be there every year to celebrate our anniversary and any other chance we get to share a romantic dinner as well!

My fiancé and I were married last fall at the Kimberton Inn. For those of you unfamiliar with this venue, don’t leave this stone unturned! Avid cyclists, we used the Kimberton Inn’s parking lot as a meet up point for a ride one morning. Upon completing our ride, packing up the bikes into the car, we then finally “noticed” this gem of a place. We casually walked around the grounds, admired the small creek and old water wheel that adorned the property, thinking that would be an ideal backdrop for our outside ceremony that my now wife was yearning for. The building itself has a ton of history behind it, and it really comes shining through both outside and inside of this historic inn, built in the 1700’s. The regal, red brick steps, tall white pillar columns flanking the heavy wooden doors, adorned by leaded glass windows on either side; we just had to look further! Across the street is a picturesque pond with geese, swans and ducks, meandering about. Beside that is an old pump-house, some 200+ year old trees; fantastic backdrops for pictures, right on site! I wonder if they do weddings we said aloud.
So, we walked inside and were greeted by their friendly staff, asked if we wanted a cup of coffee while we waited for the owner/operator. (Great gourmet coffee BTW!)
Out came Jeff Effgen, the owner/operator of the Kimberton Inn for over 33 years! He is old school in all the good ways of customer service, especially when it comes to your most important day! He took the time to give us a tour of the restaurant (historic bar area, 3 wood burning fireplaces, wine cellar, dining area, and a banquet room). From the repurposed brick flooring, historic charm, you just got an incredibly warm feeling of the aura of this fine restaurant. We knew this was going to be the one-stop shop for all of our needs. Onto going over the various options that Jeff and his team offer. So many, it’s easy to get lost in all of the choices, but once again, Jeff offered up his vast knowledge and expertise on what paired well with what, what most people would prefer, and asked great thought provoking questions to ensure he could tailor this special day to make it the most memorable one we’d carry together for the rest of our lives. Needless to say, mission accomplished! I won’t bore you with all of the various details, but the food choices, quality, taste, and presentation were phenomenal, truly top notch, and he lived up to his promises. He took care of virtually everything! Wedding cake check (which BTW, his baker duplicated from a photo I had sent & was hands down the BEST carrot cake I have ever had…period!) Beverage choices top notch offerings as well, and you can suit every guest taste and palate. Service was impeccable. The entire night was stress free, and a great time to celebrate with the closest of friends and family. Everyone kept marveling at how much fun they had, how great the food and service was, and the fact that we need to do this again!
I cannot thank Jeff Effgen (Owner), Jason Irrgang (Manager), Jim Trainer (Head Chef), and the entire team enough. It is truly a day that we will cherish and remember for the rest of our lives. This review does not do the place enough justice. Go, check it out! They have an AMAZING Sunday brunch as well, again with top notch food, but such a relaxing, historic, yet elegant and laid back atmosphere all at the same time. Chalk the Kimberton Inn up to visit!! www.kimbertoninn.com

(this is continued from my wife's review of our 6/9/12 wedding...the Knot limits your characters and we can't rave enough about the Kimberton Inn). Here's more:
Everything that is served on your wedding day is the same food that is served at the Kimberton Inn on a regular basis (ie it’s not banquet food). For me, this was really important and special. We have been to the Kimberton so many times leading up to and after our wedding – our 1 month anniversary, our 1 year anniversary, Valentine’s Day, New Year’s Eve, and Easter. Each time, we get to remember our special day and have the same delicious food (the crab cake!!! the shrimp cocktail!!!) that we had on our wedding day.
Also, I should note that we had our rehearsal dinner at the Kimberton. We had our rehearsal in the wine cellar, which provided an intimate and different setting for the night before our wedding. The Kimberton provided totally different food for the night before and created a private space for us to share tearful toasts and loving moments before our big day.
One of the things that we really appreciated throughout our wedding planning process was that the Kimberton Inn is totally transparent and clear. They were very clear about the costs and what was included so that there were no surprises or hidden fees. Our package included so much – flowers, wedding cake, open bar, etc. You really get a high-end, five-star wedding at a reasonable price. And what you really get is PERFECTION. I am someone who is detail-oriented (even when I’m not a bride) and Jeff and his staff paid attention to every detail so that I didn’t have to think about anything on my big day. I was able to sit back and enjoy and know that every detail – from napkins being refolded when someone got up to serving sparkling apple cider to our guests who don’t drink champagne to catering to my mom’s garlic allergy to loading our presents and cards in our car – was attended to and executed flawlessly.
If you are a bride-to-be or a future groom and reading this, I can’t urge you enough to consider the Kimberton Inn. Almost three years later and my friends are STILL talking about how my wedding was THE BEST and had THE BEST FOOD. We will forever treasure the Kimberton Inn.

My husband and I were married at the Kimberton Inn on 6/9/12. I cannot rave enough about the experience that we had at the Kimberton. Our wedding was FLAWLESS thanks to Jeff Effgen, the owner, and his staff. After years of recommending the Kimberton Inn to other brides-to-be, I figured I should publicly write a review. The Kimberton Inn is a hidden gem – a treasure for brides-to-be.
Jeff will begin your planning process by methodically and meticulously reviewing every detail. It’s clear that he has an understanding of what works well and is also flexible to see your vision for your wedding.
One of the things that I really loved about our wedding was that it didn’t feel like we were part of a wedding factory. You are the only wedding that will happen on that day – and throughout the planning process you will feel as though their entire focus is on you. When you have your wedding at the Kimberton, unlike the majority of weddings in the world, your guests won’t need to decide on their meal months in advance on an RSVP card, nor will they receive a standard meal – instead, they will get to choose from a menu of options on the day of your wedding. In that sense, it feels as though you are treating all of your friends and family to a really fabulous dinner instead of feeding them bad banquet food. In fact, one of our guests was really struggling between two entrees and his server surprised him with a side serving of the risotto that he almost ordered. That kind of unique service isn’t found at other locations that host weddings. The vendors who Jeff recommended for our cake and our flowers were locally owned small-businesses (with lots of experience working at the Kimberton) whom we also loved working with and who provided us with a delicious cake and stunning floral arrangements.
On the day of our wedding, everything went exactly as Jeff had reviewed with us. Our ceremony was intimate in front of the fireplace (while we could have been outside, I wanted to get married in front of the beautiful hearth). After the ceremony, our guests enjoyed top shelf open bar and beer/wine that we personally selected. While we were taking photos outside, Jeff (the owner) was personally serving us. Where else does an owner wait on you hand and foot? Jeff is passionate about what he does and as a result, his product is beyond compare. Our wedding photos that were taken outside are GORGEOUS. There’s an old red building with a water wheel and gardens outside that make for pretty pictures. The steps of the Inn are also a great space for pics. Our guests enjoyed butlered appetizers in the bar/restaurant area of the inn. One of the most special unexpected moments was when Jeff’s staff privately served my husband and I two of every appetizer on a silver platter while our guests took their seats in the reception room. We had a private, quiet moment together and got to enjoy some food before being introduced. While some brides and grooms don’t eat on their wedding day, we ATE and ate well.

The Kimberton Inn is a hidden gem in Chester County.
From our first planning meeting until the last dance of the evening, Jeff and Michele provided us with a flawless reception.
Jeff should be a wedding planner! During the planning process, he walked us through the entire process. He knows and anticipates every possible need. Suggestions he made about the timing of the different events during the reception were perfect, as were his recommendations for the menu and drinks. The entire Kimberton Inn staff cheerfully accommodated every request.
The food was excellent. The service was flawless. The venue and flowers - designed by Michele - were perfect.
We received so many wonderful compliments on the reception. We would highly recommend the Kimberton Inn to anyone.

I cant say enough great things about the service and staff at the Kimberton Inn. Jeff, Jason and the rest of the crew provided us with such a memorable day. We felt really special and it was obvious Jeff has a real passion for setting the stage for a fantastic, unforgettable occasion. We still hear how great the food was, and how awesome our party was. I wish we could re-do it again. Maybe at the ten year mark! If you are looking for something really special, outside of the buffet lines, and glitzy glass chandeliers, and want a beautiful country setting with every detail thought of- choose the K. I. I loved not having to worry about anything on my wedding day, Jeff and his staff set the stage for a perfect party. We still frequent it at least twice a year. Have your wedding here- you will love what they have to offer!

Absolutely amazing! Our wedding was perfect. The transitions from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner and dancing were seamless. The staff showed professionalism and were attentive to details! Owner/operator helped with problem solving strategies during the event, as well as demonstrated flexibility! It was an incredible evening. My family, friends, husband, and I were thrilled with the food, the wait staff, the presentation, and the entire evening! Perfection attained!

Prior to our marriage on 10/3/14, my husband and I frequented Kimberton Inn. It was always an amazing and romantic experience. In fact, our first 'couples' photos were taken at Kimberton Inn, When we got engaged on 8/1/14, Kimberton Inn was on the top of our list for our wedding venue.
We met with Jeff a couple of times and we were totally confident that Kimberton was the perfect venue for our ceremony and reception. We were not disappointed, in fact, Jeff, Jason and the entire staff made our special night, exceptional!
The service was nothing short of outstanding! As a bride, Jeff and the staff at Kimberton Inn, helped my husband make the event truly a dream come true! I would highly recommend Kimberton Inn as the perfect venue for your special day!!

My husband and I got married at The Kimberton Inn on Sunday, September 28, 2014. Jeff Effgen, the owner, was such a crucial part in creating the classy, jazz brunch reception that we wanted. Everything about our day, and our entire experience, was seamlessly executed and exceeded our expectations. From our first meeting with Jeff, we knew that we had found a gem location, and a person that is a leader in the business. He will always be one step ahead; his forethought unparalleled. This location is truly the complete package: charming, cozy building, gorgeous, natural grounds, fantastic food, and flawless service. Jeff's wife, Michelle, also creates absolutely elegant centerpieces.
While other venues will e-mail you their boxed "packages" and invite you to an open house at the same time other couples are visiting (making your most special day feel like a business opportunity), Jeff will invite you to come in, sit down and have a cup of coffee, and discuss what YOU want. I didn't come across any other person that was so keen on making my wedding a personal experience (which seems ironic, doesn't it?!).
While mingling with our guests, we were told over and over again how delicious the food was (and I absolutely was thrilled that guests could order off of our pre-selected menu the day off, rather than having to select months in advance....making it feel like a dining experience at a restaurant, not a "banquet"). My friends and family remarked over and over how helpful Jeff was, how he didn't miss a beat, and how the service during the meal was top-notch.
In the months leading up to the wedding, I would mention The Kimberton Inn at various places (my hair salon, my seamstress, my doctor's office, even the dog park!). EVERY single person had something glowing to say about Jeff and the Inn. Trust me on this, they are not only doing it right, they've absolutely nailed it.

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Kimberton Inn on October 4, 2014 and could not have asked for a better experience! Jeff’s years of experience and his well-run staff made for a seamless day where myself, my husband, our bridal party, family and friends were able to thoroughly enjoy the day without a worry.
The Kimberton was able to turn their banquet room into a beautiful setting for a ceremony. I brought everything for the ceremony over a couple days prior and went through all directions with the assistant manager, and never had to repeat myself. They executed everything perfectly that day of. Then the reception went off without a hitch! We had a sit down dinner, which is not easy with 100 guests, but they did it wonderfully. The servers were fantastic – extremely attentive and organized. And the food! There aren’t words to describe how delicious all the meals were. I have never heard so many people rave about the food at a wedding. Not only was it delicious, but the portions were huge! I saw many guests requesting doggie bags because it was too good to not take home with them.
Jeff made himself very visible throughout the entire day and night. We chose to arrive at the Kimberton early and do pictures before the ceremony, and Jeff made sure we had everything we needed while taking pictures even while he was inside preparing for the ceremony and reception. Then continued to make sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed up until the minute we left.
I would highly recommend the Kimberton Inn for your wedding! They include so many aspects of the day in their package, including the wedding cake and centerpieces. It truly brings ease to planning. Everyone had such wonderful things to say about our wedding after the fact thanks to Jeff and his staff. Thank you Kimberton!!

Our wedding day was Saturday, July 19, 2014. From starting the planning in January, to the end of the reception on July 19th at 10 PM, Jeff Effgen was super to work with. We had our ideas and plans as a couple of what we wanted our wedding day and reception to be like and Jeff made it happen! He is an exquisite party planner and is as detailed-oriented as we are! We greatly appreciated that. If you are having a smaller wedding, and you want it on a Friday or Saturday evening, the Kimberton Inn is the place to have it. You don’t need the 125 guest minimum like most places to have a weekend wedding! We had 68 guests and the Inn is charming, cozy, inviting, the grounds are beautiful, and just a perfect site for an intimate wedding. Jeff met with us on 4 separate occasions (along with many confirming phone calls) to go over the room set-up, the menu, the number of guests and based on his extensive experience, gave us great guidance on making our party a success. The unique thing is that the restaurant is closed to the public during the cocktail hour so our guests enjoyed hors d' oeuvres and cocktails in the main restaurant and bar area. It was delightful, and roomy, yet intimate! The food was absolutely delicious and the liquor is top-shelf – all included in the price per person - and you get to choose from a wide selection hors d' oeuvres, and if not on the list, Jeff will get it or have it made for you. Jeff special-ordered baby lamb chops per my request. They were fabulous! Our guests raved about the hors d' oeuvres and the impeccable service. Due to our delay in getting to the cocktail hour due to photos, Jeff and his staff met my husband and me with an array of hors d' oeuvres so we wouldn’t miss out on them! So glad they did and how thoughtful. We then all moved to the banquet room for dinner. (The restaurant/bar area will then open to the public). The banquet room was decorated exactly how we requested with the correct linen colors and table set-up. There is a great dance floor and bar in the room! The main courses, potatoes, and vegetables were delicious and served nice and hot – we selected a menu of duck breast, salmon, filet mignon, and a vegetarian dish. Two of our friends are vegan, and Jeff easily had the chef accommodate their dietary requests. The service was unbelievable – the staff was friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Jeff was very visible during our reception and would “check in” with us to be sure everything was perfect. And it was!! Our family and friends commented several times about the superb service, delicious food and even told Jeff himself. The wedding cake was also included in the price. It too, was delicious and beautiful. We truly recommend that you visit the Kimberton Inn web-site and speak with Jeff about your wedding plans. You really get what you pay for and more! There are no hidden costs – Jeff writes it all out and does not deviate from what you discuss and agree upon. Go for dinner and try the menu – it’s the same menu you select from for your reception. We ate there several times prior to our wedding day and tasted everything we were going to put on our reception menu. Our guests commented that it was the best wedding they have ever attended! Thank you Jeff!

You cannot go wrong with the Kimberton Inn. Foremost, this is one of the best restaurants the Philadelphia suburbs has to offer, which speaks volumes about the quality of food you will have for your reception. Kimberton is set apart by the attention to detail. Both Jeffrey Effgen, the owner, and Jason Irrgang, the manager, continually go out of their way to make sure everyone has a fantastic experience. Their staff are extremely professional and do a wonderful job of making you feel comfortable.
We have had two experiences with weddings at Kimberton Inn. I attended a larger, 100+ wedding ceremony and reception here several years ago and have often said it was the best wedding I had ever attended. The ceremony was in their hall which has a beautiful view of the landscaping, pond, and the cute barn and waterwheel. While the wedding party were taking photographs, the restaurant and bar was opened for the guests for hors d’oeuvres and drinks which provided room to mingle. The staff circulated often to make sure we had plenty to eat and drink. Finally, back in the hall we had dinner; I chose the lobster in puff pastry. The food was so good, I still remember what I ate.
The second time was for our own wedding reception. Kimberton Inn has always held a special place in our hearts, so there was really no question where we wanted to celebrate our nuptials. With facile, Jeff helped us select exactly what we wanted for our reception. They have several rooms that work perfectly for various size parties. We were upstairs in “The Balcony" (reception of 40) which was the perfect size to be intimate. Our guests all raved about the food and how charming the space was. We were impressed by the staff who delivered fantastic service and a wonderful meal.
Pro tip: you should also consider dining here. You have to try the lamb and the “Probably the Best Salad You’ll Ever Have”—it really is. It is the perfect place for a romantic evening or for brunch with your dearest friends.

We had our ceremony and reception at the Kimberton Inn on June 7, 2014---and we could not have asked for a better, more memorable day! When we started planning our day, we met with Jeff, the owner of the inn. He asked us questions that made us think about every little detail, things that we would not have thought of. Jeff and his staff saw to every detail and answered every question we had. Our ceremony was outside---what a beautiful, serene setting for a wedding! And perfect for pictures afterward! Our guests enjoyed a cocktail reception while we were having photos taken---and we were personally served drinks and hors d'oeuvres during this time. Our wedding was small (30 people); the tables were set up in a V, which made it possible for us to see all of our guests. So much nicer than having everyone spread out at small tables! Our guests had a lovely menu to choose from during the reception, which was much nicer than having to pick their meal 6 weeks in advance when sending back their response card. (We chose the menu, but it was wonderful to offer our guests 4 entrees to choose from.) The food was outstanding, expertly prepared, and beautifully served. We felt like the most important people that were at the inn that day!
Jeff was with us every step of the way during our wedding. He was invaluable to me---I'm not sure our day would have been nearly as nice without his expertise! He kept us informed of how many of our guests had arrived, where I should walk so the groom didn't see me before the ceremony, what was happening next. He works side by side with his staff---they're a well-oiled machine that will make sure your day is perfect.
If I could go back and change anything about our wedding, I would not change a thing!!! We had a perfect day! Our guests are still talking about how wonderful it was, and it's a day that we'll remember forever! You absolutely can't go wrong having your wedding and/or reception at the Kimberton Inn!!

We had a small wedding reception with 50 friends and family on the Friday after thanksgiving. We had the entire inn to ourselves and the decor was absolutely to die for. Michelle had all of the Christmas decorations up including the largest, most spectacular poinsettias I have ever seen. Everything was perfect from the food, to the cake, to the flowers and decor. The staff worked hard to make sure everything was the way we wanted and it could not have been more perfect!

My wedding at the Kimberton Inn could not have been any better! The food was absolutely delicious and of the best quality! My husband and I were able to choose what we wanted served from a great list of dishes and appetizers. Not only did the food look delicious, it tasted delicious as well (that included our cake!). Jeff, the manager, was an absolute Godsend! He helped with every step of the process and made my family feel like we were his number one priority; he helped to plan and organize our wedding. On the day of the event, I did not have a worry in the world. My husband and I just concentrated on enjoying our special day!
