Choosing Hotel Monaco for our wedding was the BEST decision we could have made! We hosted our ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, and room block all at Monaco. All of the staff that we encountered were amazing, and we heard nothing but good things from our family and friends.
We knew we wanted a more intimate wedding, and the team worked with us to make sure we could do so within our budget.
Special shout out to Lindsey Yealy, Allan Hughes, and Tori Snyder! These are the folks that we worked the most with to help plan our special day and they were each phenomenal.
We loved everything about our day and wish we could do it all over again! :)

Our daughter's wedding reception was at the Hotel Monaco in October. In summary, it was amazing. The attention to detail was remarkable. All guests felt welcome. It was the perfect venue and well worth the money.
The staff, including Lindsey, Dante, and Debbie, were all fantastic. They were professional, and obviously very experienced. Given the importance of the occasion, we had a special interest and heightened concern to see everything was as good as it could be. Every concern we had was addressed. Everything Lindsey said she would do, she did. And then they went beyond our expectations with how we were treated the day of the event.
We did have some special requests, all of which were addressed: guests with dietary restrictions, request for additional bartenders, request for after event flat breads and take away containers for guests, breakfast buffet the next day, and other items. All were addressed to perfection.
The hotel and staff also worked well with our wedding planner, which I will also mention because she was great. Nicole McCann of Exhale Events. When hosting an event like this it is important to know your team members get along. We definitely felt like we were being supported by a well functioning, experience and highly competent team.
If you are concerned about the layout of the ballroom, being three separate rooms with the dance floor in the middle, I understand. We weren't totally convinced how it would work either. Trust us - it is perfect. The layout creates wonderful spaces were guests can connect with each other and provide a little separation from the party. The more intimate setting also pulls people together, in the dance area especially. The lighting of the space is breathtaking and the overall atmosphere becomes much more familiar than a large, perhaps austere, ballroom. It has a much closer feeling to home.
If you've made it this far you know we can't say enough about the Hotel Monaco. If we had better words we would use them. It was one of the best decisions we made in this process. You can't go wrong here.

Upfront, our experience was not very good. We signed a contract and soon later, our Hotel contact left. With no replacement, we were left in the dark for about 4-months with no contact. We grew from 67 people to 116 and didn’t get a lot of straight answers back from the main wedding contact. Finally, we got introduced to the bubbliest person, Sydney. She definitely got thrown right into the fire, but she was so helpful to us every step of the way and helping accommodate all of our changes. Communication with the staff is very rare Thursday-Sunday, which can be frustrating at times, but you soon realize why.
On load-in-day, the kitchen staff saw we had a lot of stuff and they just jumped right in to help us move everything in. Sydney made sure everything ran smoothy and was the main point of contact throughout the wedding day. If we needed something to our room, she was on it! Dante made sure the dinner went well and even helped us out during the ceremony. The maitre d' made sure that as the couple we had food and drinks from the end of the ceremony all the way through dinner. Not sure if the bar was supposed to, but they also went above and beyond and gave out additional drink options that weren’t on our original menu. Their whole staff were 120% all about the wedding during the day.
We did the ceremony in the Sofia which was a simple and elegant location when done up right. We then took the guest up to the rooftop for cocktail hour while the hotel staff turned the downstairs over. We then headed back downstairs and used the Sheffield for the reception, Sofia as the bar/lounge/dessert area, and the Foyer for the dance floor. Although the dance floor was narrow, it made the best atmosphere and flow for all of our guest. You can easily have the group of people that love to dance and the group of people that like to just watch or talk in the other rooms.
We did also use the convenience of the hotel to provide a non-guaranteed room block which gave us a great price and more rooms than needed without having to worry about paying the difference for any rooms not used.

My husband and I could not have been happier with our wedding at the Monaco! Erin was a superstar- she helped us out at every step and made sure the day ran smoothly. The venue was beautiful; we loved having our first look and later our cocktail hour on the rooftop! And the food was amazing- we did a brunch reception and everything from omelettes to French toast to pork belly was to die for. We can't recommend this venue enough- we'd pick it again 10/10 times.

We can’t rave enough about Erin, Dante, Robby, and the team at Hotel Monaco. The team exceeded our high expectations. The venue was the first decision we made for our big day, and we could not be happier with the entire experience from start to finish. As soon as we saw the event spaces and explored the hotel, we immediately fell in love with the chic, funky vibe of Hotel Monaco and knew it was the perfect place for our nuptials.
Erin was very communicative throughout the planning process, the rehearsal, and the actual day. This was huge for us since we planned the wedding from afar. We felt like we were in good hands. Erin and her team helped coordinate decor and welcome bag drop offs the week before the wedding, making us feel at ease and taking a lot of the stress off of us. The Hotel Monaco team took care of all the decor setup, and created an amazing cookie table that wowed all our families and friends. The hotel staff executed every task with efficiency and precision - a detail that was noted by us as well as our guests.
On the day of our wedding we had to make a last minute call to move our cocktail hour from the rooftop to the foyer due to a potential rain. This happened so quickly and efficiently that it seemed like that was the plan all along. The rooftop served its role as the night capper, where we moved our late-night eats and afterparty. This was a big hit with our guests, and we loved what the team did with the rooftop at the end of the night.
Erin, Dante and their teams managed to keep the event running smoothly while also making us feel like we were their main focus. At the end of the evening we hadn’t even had a chance to eat our cake. Inside the Emperor's suite, the team had set aside two slices of cake, a bottle of champagne, and a very kind note.
I could go on, but there are just too many things that went right to name!

My husband and I are so glad we chose the Kimpton Hotel Monaco as the venue for our ceremony and reception. What I loved about the venue, besides the eclectic urban feel, was that so much is included with the venue (tables, chairs , linens, etc.) If you are a busy bride who does not have time to agonize over tiny details, this is a great option for you. We had an amazing time celebrating and staying at the hotel. You are in good hands with Erin and her team, and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend.

I do not know where to start - from the time my mom, future husband and I walked into the Hotel Monaco and met Lindsey, we were sold on having our wedding there. Not only is the Hotel Monaco absolutely GORGEOUS, the staff makes you feel so special. We worked with Lindsey, Catering Sales Manager, up to and on our special day and also Dante, Director of Banquets, was amazing as well. We had both our wedding ceremony and reception here. We loved that this made is easy for our guests to attend our wedding without ever having to leave the hotel.O Organizing our hotel wedding block was a breeze when working with Kami and Liz. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

Hotel Monaco was truly the PERFECT place for our wedding celebration. We have received innumerable compliments from our guests on the venue. The staff (especially Erin and Liz) were super responsive and were there for every step of the planning process.
Having a "one stop shop" for the ceremony, reception, and accommodations was a top priority for us. HM had all of this AND the restaurant in the lower level of the hotel was amazing for the unofficial "after party".
Wedding food can sometimes disappoint, however HM knocked it out of the park with one guest stating it was "the best chicken he'd ever had". Finally, like every other couple in the last few years, we had a postponement and some last minute changes, which HM handled beautifully.

I wish I could give Hotel Monaco 20 stars. This venue, the staff, Lindsey, and everything about our day was nothing short of perfect. They are incredibly accommodating, easy to work with and just amazing people.
We had to move our wedding up last minute due to a family emergency. Lindsey immediately reached out to us and quickly got the planning started. From day one, she was there for us. Checking in to see if we needed anything, doing absolutely anything we asked for and then some and still go this day asks us how we are doing. She is absolutely incredible and we couldn’t have asked for a better wedding planning to be by our side throughout the entire process.
The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. It’s like a blank slate that you can do whatever you want. They work with you from start to finish and they never stop offering to help. The food is amazing, highly recommend the short rib and chicken. The process itself is so easy between the actual planning, working with vendors, the wedding block, and the day of. If I could get married again, it would be here in a heartbeat. I cannot say enough good things about Hotel Monaco, Lindsey, and their entire staff.

My husband and I cannot say enough nice things about Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh! We had our wedding there in August of 2022 and it was truly an amazing experience from start to finish. You cannot beat the beautiful space, amazing food, modern amenities, and one-of-a-kind rooftop area. The staff went out of their way to make sure all of our requests were fulfilled and they were truly went above and beyond - especially because of their amazing coordinator, Lindsey! As an LGBTQ+ couple, we felt welcomed from the very beginning and loved every minute of our experience with Hotel Monaco in Pittsburgh!

Hotel Monaco was the absolute best choice for a wedding venue. Top notch professionals. From our first interaction with Erin and touring the space we knew it would be the place we got married. Through the entire planning process, Erin was kind, professional, and responsive. Whatever we wanted or needed, she made it happen. They pulled off an awesome ice cream sundae bar for us as our dessert which our guests loved. During our planning meeting she was very thorough and had wonderful ideas for how to tailor the day to be exactly how we wanted it. The unlimited time in the space is priceless and it was so nice to not have to worry about strict timelines when choosing ceremony times etc. The food options are great (and DELICIOUS), the add ons even better! Our guests loved the carving station during cocktail hour and tater tot bar at night. The staff turned over each space to perfection.
We had 105 people, All of which came from out of town. Every single person was able to check in when they got there, even if they ended up being early, so no one was stuck waiting for check in. The check in staff was so accommodating and made sure to give out the complimentary champagne toast to everyone. Everyone got their welcome bag delivered to their room. They even arranged for one of our groomsmen to get into the room block last minute because they thought they booked a room but actually didn’t. The rooms were clean and everyone loved the hotel. Wine and beer hour was the perfect way to say hi to everyone when they arrived Friday night!
The day of could not have been more perfect. The space was set up to perfection (after Erin worked with us to rearrange the seating chart about 15 times, bless her soul). I credit this team for making sure our wedding was exactly what we wanted and they executed to perfection. Note how many times I said perfection in this review- this team knocked it out of the park. I would recommend this venue over and over and over again.

Although our reception was not at Hotel Monaco, it was the location for our room block. Liz and Emily were so friendly, organized, and fun to work with! They did an amazing job leading us through the process. Additionally, the rooms were so unique, large, and clean. We had over 90 guests stay there (most were out of town) and they were beyond impressed with the hotel and its service. I would highly recommend using them for your reception or your hotel block!

I asked Lindsey Yealy to provide me with contacts at Hotel Monaco, as I wanted others in your organization to know how pleased myself and my husband were with our daughter’s wedding reception!
It was difficult choosing a wedding venue during the pandemic, since we were limited in our visits and there were minimal events to see. However, once we met with Lindsey, her enthusiasm and ability to convey the level of services to be provided convinced me that Anna and Don had selected the best location! Throughout the 1 1/2 year planning process, Lindsey was responsive to requests, always pleasant and willing to make time for us.
The reception- WOW!! I hope you both saw what your staff accomplished, as it was magical! Our guests were amazed by the elegance of the rooms, and level of service from your staff. The food was delicious and artfully presented. Everything flowed beautifully- cocktail hour, dinner service, and an over-the-top setup of our cookie table! Our families baked for months, so to see our efforts on the display created was beyond belief!
I want to mention how helpful Emily Marous was upon checkin and with day of bridal suite preparations and managing our food for the bridal party. Also, a big thanks to Dante who was present and checked in with us frequently throughout the reception, and was available the next morning to manage floral, cookie and supplies.
We had many guests staying on property for the wedding and received all positive feedback on their experience with rooms and The Commoner. I personally enjoyed having the living room area to enjoy a drink and quiet time to visit with out of town friends.

Hotel Monaco was a beautiful location to have our rehearsal dinner/welcome celebration for our guests as well as our hotel block. We worked with Erin for the welcome dinner and Greg for the room block.
For the welcome dinner: We held our welcome event in the Sofia/Shefield ballrooms as we had too many people/the weather was too cold for the rooftop space. I was initially worried about the ballroom feel, but the decor is amazing and the space looks gorgeous!! The staff helping with the rehearsal dinner itself were very available and helpful. They made sure to introduce themselves and were around if we needed anything. (using the mic, turning up the music). The event ran without an issue. The food was incredible-- way better than I had expected. We got the food stations and had plenty of food for our guests and the food was refilled quickly. Highly recommend the Robata station for the pork belly!
For the hotel: We also had a great experience-- We made welcome bags/boxes for our guests staying at the hotel and the staff hand-delivered the boxes to the rooms shortly after check-in which felt very personalized. They were also very accommodating when it came to getting ready- we had two suites for the bridesmaids/groomsmen to get ready in. When we needed extra chairs for hair/makeup they delivered them to our room right away. They were available throughout the day for anything that we needed (room service, etc). Additionally, we were able to access the rooftop when we were ready for first look photos with a beautiful view of downtown. The hotel itself is very unique and we got a lot of compliments about how much people enjoyed staying there.

We were looking at Hotel Monaco for our actual wedding day events - but our guest count was too high. Thankfully we were still able to use them for our rehearsal dinner and welcome reception. The space is already gorgeous so with very little planning we were able to pull off an exceptional evening before our wedding. The staff was very accommodating and we got so many compliments on the food and I couldn't have been happier.

Thinking about what to say in this review brings tears to my eyes. Working with the staff at Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh was one of the easiest, stress-free, fun, memorable times of my planning process. The second we walked into Hotel Monaco, we fell in love with it. It is the perfect balance of upscale and fun. The different spaces allow you and your guests to feel as though there is always something new around the corner, even when staying in one venue for the ceremony and reception. We had cocktail hour on the rooftop which was such a fun experience that our guests loved. The staff was extremely accommodating and worked with us through the many twists and turns that wedding planning in 2020 and 2021 have brought. The food was delicious, the staff did an amazing job setting up and we had the best day. Perfect for a medium sized wedding!

Our original coordinators are laid off due to COVID. This made us extremely nervous, but Erin took over and nailed it. She was wonderful. Debbie, Dante, and the rest of the team were also fabulous. We were even able to dance on the rooftop to end the evening. The hotel has everything you could ask for. The rooms are so beautiful and need minimal decorating and it is a “one stop shop”- everything you need is there! I would not have changed a thing. Thank you to Erin and the wonderful team for all their hard work! (Plus, the hotel is pet friendly so our pups got to be in our wedding photos and a part of our big day?

We hosted our wedding weekend at the Hotel Monaco and used it for our hotel block. They were very responsive and welcoming to us and our guests. They allowed us to extend our block with no problem whatsoever. We had numerous compliments on the stylishness of the accommodations and the service. We came back on our wedding night to a perfectly made-up bridal suite with chocolates and champagne and all sorts of little touches. Highly recommend!

The Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh was the BEST decision we could have made as the venue for our wedding!
1.) The hotel itself is marvelous with an eclectic style and decor. We took many wedding photos in the rooms, hallways and all over that turned out amazing due to the beauty of the hotel.
2.) THE STAFF!!!! I cannot say enough good things about the staff. From Paige and Kristen in Sales who were hands on and making sure everything was planned perfectly (which is no easy task if you've ever planned a wedding); the bellmen who helped multiple times the day before my wedding, during the reception and after checking out. They were always quick to help out and did not rush off until I made sure everything was taken care of; even Lexi who handled the billing was amazingly polite and helpful in making sure all my charges were accurate; and last but certainly not least, Debbie, who was the lead server for our reception. We first met her when we were tasting foods for the reception months prior. She promised to be there for whatever may arise and she kept that promise. She made sure everything went swimmingly and when I panicked about forgetting a charger or asked to have something special done for my wife, she was right on it. She is a very caring and wonderful person and I'm thankful she was apart of our special day and there to help make it perfect.
Side note, we originally planned to have our reception at another establishment, I hate to speak negatively of others in a positive review but... the Springwood. There are many things that I could say but I will simply say this. They were unresponsive and unhelpful. Knowing how hard it was to plan a wedding prior to hiring the Kimpton Monaco, I can tell you that the staff will earn your business.
3.) The Food! Ok, I've gone on for awhile so I'll make this short and sweet. They can FREAKING COOK!! We had tuna tartar, beef wellington, lamb chops, and what seemed like an endless amount of apps and charcuterie that were all perfectly prepared. The real explosion of flavor was in the entrees of potato crusted grouper, sirloin and well prepared chicken. Lastly, they even made some amazing pierogi to end the night. I know Pittsburgh is known for their pierogi so no one is probably too impressed, but I'm actually Polish if you could tell from my name. I know good pierogi and those were to die for. My complements to the chef.

Paige and the whole sales and catering team was amazing. They went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. We also held our ceremony there. We wanted everything in one spot and they made it so easy for us to switch from each room. It was the perfect day. Can’t thank them enough!

We absolutely love everything about Hotel Monaco! We had our wedding there in early November 2017, and they treated us like royalty. Yes, it is expensive, but it is totally worth it. The ballroom is beautiful, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing. All of our guests had a great time, and the hotel played a big part in making our wedding day so memorable. Throughout the planning process, we worked very closely with Paige Myers, and we cannot say enough great things about her. Wedding planning can be stressful at times, and Paige was always there for us, either via email, by phone, or in person, to help us and address any questions/concerns that we had. She is calm, reassuring, and creative, and she was the main reason that our wedding day went so smoothly!

We were truly amazed by the absolute PERFECTION of Hotel Monaco for our wedding! From start to finish, the entire experience planning and holding our wedding at Hotel Monaco was enjoyable. In addition to having an amazing event space and gorgeous guest rooms, the staff really could not have been better. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure that my husband and I, along with all of our guests, were comfortable and happy. So many of our guests commented to us how truly top-notch and accommodating the staff was. And for our wedding day, Kristen Stewart made sure every detail was perfect so that we had a flawless event. For anyone who wants to have a beautiful wedding that is executed with ease and grace, we highly recommend Hotel Monaco!! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone at the Hotel involved in our special day for making it even better than we dreamed possible.

We had an amazing October wedding at the Pittsburgh Hotel Monaco. Both our ceremony and reception were held at the space (there are two ballrooms - we were offered both for no fee). Our wedding coordinator Greg Sgro & the rest of the Monaco staff worked hard to make sure that everything was perfect! We took advantage of the amazing rooftop for cocktail hour, which included live music, appetizers, and a sushi station. Our guests repeatedly commented that the cocktail party felt like an extension of the day instead of just "waiting for dinner." Moreover, many guests commented that the food was to die for (and I would agree - everything tasted great from the appetizers to the salad and main course. The Monaco accommodations were luxurious and convenient - our bridal suite was the perfect spot for hair & makeup. Finally, the Monaco took care of the heavy lifting - from setting up to tearing down, we never had to worry about any of the details on the big day. It was truly a pleasure working with Greg & the Monaco. It's sad that it's all over!

We had an absolutely perfect wedding day at the Hotel Monaco. We worked primarily with Paige Myers for over a year and she was professional and kind to us at every turn. Our planning process was pretty painless, and when we got down to the wire Paige coordinated with all of my vendors for set up and delivery so on the day I didn't have to worry about a thing. We had our ceremony and our reception here, and everything went so smoothly, and on time, and everyone at the hotel was so kind to us and our guests. All of the food (including dessert...the hotel makes amazing pies which we had in lieu of cake!) was delicious, and I had several guests come to me and tell me it was the best wedding food they ever had. Our accommodations were amazing too...our suite was massive and beautiful, and was the perfect staging area for some pre-ceremony photos. Everyone at the Hotel will really work hard to make sure your wedding day is special, and I really had the absolute most perfect day thanks to their staff and the beautiful hotel itself.

When looking for a venue in Pittsburgh to host our wedding, we required several things: 1. A venue that was elegant and modern, 2. a venue that was as excited to host our wedding as we were to plan it, 3. a venue that was flexible in terms of event time, setup, etc. and 4. a venue that provided excellent food, drinks, and service. I can honestly say that all of these requirements were met by hosting our wedding on 4-29-2017 at the Hotel Monaco.
We primarily worked with Greg, who was extremely attentive and had great ideas for planning everything. his hotel took care of us from start to finish. The rest of the team/staff members were also wonderful and attentive as well. We didn't have to worry about the details such as placing escort cards or checking in with any vendors.
