We had the most wonderful experience from start to finish working with all of the staff at the Marlowe, and especially with Rachel. From the first time that my husband and I met Rachel and toured the Marlowe, we knew we'd be in good hands. Rachel was extremely communicative and responsive throughout the entire planning process. She thought of small details that I hadn't even considered, but always made us feel like we were in control and in a good place with planning. My fears of bad weather on our wedding day became the reality, and we unfortunately needed to move our ceremony indoors at the last minute to avoid rain. This was obviously disappointing, as I had envisioned something else, but the Marlowe made it work. Rachel responded immediately and our indoor ceremony and cocktail hour were both beautiful. I can't thank Rachel and all of the staff at the Marlowe enough for making our wedding weekend, and the entire planning experience, seamless and magical. The wedding food was excellent, the bartenders were fantastic (never a line for drinks!), the servers were lovely, and the front desk staff was so friendly and welcoming. Everyone went above and beyond, and the small acts of hospitality did not go unnoticed by us our our guests. From the champagne and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our suite, to the care that was shown when cleaning up our decor and valuable family items at the end of the reception, the Marlowe nailed it. We will not hesitate to recommend this venue to our friends and family in the future, and it will always have a special place in our hearts.

Thank you so much! We absolutely loved working with you, Katrina, and wish you all the best! Love, The Marlowe Team
Our wedding was held at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge in October 2024. Throughout the entire process, the team there was incredibly helpful and supportive. They were able to accommodate all of our requests and needs, and on the day of everything went incredibly smoothly. Rachel, our coordinator, was fantastic and quick to respond to any questions we had, and truly helped us bring our vision to life. The chef was able to accommodate any allergies and requests, and the food was delicious.
Rachel is the absolute best!!! She made our wedding perfect, along with amazing food, staff, and a beautiful backdrop!
Any questions?
I cannot thank Rachel and the entire Kimpton Marlowe Hotel staff enough for their exceptional service, outstanding food and drink, patience, kindness and professionalism in executing my daughter's wedding! It was a dream come true, our guests raved about the event, and we have a lifetime of memories. Thank you so much to everyone at the Kimpton!
We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding!! The moment we toured the Kimpton Marlowe, we knew it was the venue for us! Rachel helped us with every step along the way and helped to ensure our wedding was everything we could have imagined and more!

Aw thank you so much, Sara! Your wedding was absolutely beautiful, and we loved being a part of your special day. Xo, The Marlowe Team
Rachel was extremely helpful and accommodating during the entire process and went above and beyond day of to make sure everything went according to plan. The entire staff at Kimpton was great and helped me with various small things the week of the wedding.
We had an excellent experience holding our wedding and reception at The Marlowe Hotel. My partner and I were looking for a venue that would be accessible for out-of-town guests as well as our local friends and family, that would be open to a non-traditional ceremony on site, and that offered reasonable packages with some flexibility. When we meet Rachel and toured the space, we quickly appreciated the personal approach and sense of welcome we received. We dined at Bambara before making our decision and had the opportunity to talk with Chef Adam, whose menu and style checked all our boxes. We signed our contract in November 2023 and held our wedding in May 2024, and having ~6 months to plan was very feasible with Rachel's clear guidance, prompt responsiveness, organizational and management skills, and attention to detail. When questions, ideas, or unexpected issues arose, Rachel was collaborative and worked with us to come up with solutions that worked for our vision and budget. On the day of our wedding, Rachel made sure everything ran flawlessly, coordinating with venue staff as well as our external vendors while still being thoughtfully attentive to us and our "VIP" guests. The team at The Marlowe was a pleasure to work with too, from the front desk staff, to banquet staff and servers, to bartenders, to guest services. We knew we were taking a bit of a risk in signing on just before major renovations started at the hotel, but we were rewarded – the updated space is lovely and provided a warm, elegant backdrop for our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and after party. Our wedding was a wonderful, memorable experience for us and our guests, and we appreciate The Marlowe's support in creating the space for us to bring it to fruition.
Rachel Barlam at the Kimpton Marlowe was an exceptional event planner for our daughter's wedding! Always professional, yet personable , she was there to answer any of our questions (not matter how may we had). Her exuberance created such excitement for our special day!
Rachel Barlaam and the team at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel recently coordinated our wedding there on December 16th. From the early planning stages through day/night-of facilitation, Rachel and the Kimpton Marlowe staff were amazing to work with. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location if you have many guests coming in from out of town. Our guests loved their stay and the whole event felt personal and intimate thanks to the hard work of Rachel and her team.
We hosted our long-delayed in-person wedding reception at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel and our experience with the venue was nothing short of excellent! The space was beautiful and stood out from other hotels we visited in the area. It was a perfect fit for our event size (130 guests with dinner and dancing) and was also much more affordable compared to other similarly sized venues. All of our guests raved about the food and service, which were exemplary. The planning process was very smooth and tailored to our needs, and the wedding coordinator Rachel Barlaam went above and beyond to help us and answer our every question, from decor to parking details. We even had an emergency floral problem on the day of and she saved the day with backup garlands she had on hand! We could not be happier with her work and are very pleased to have had our event at this venue.
The Kimpton Marlowe was fantastic, in large part due to the catering manger/wedding specialist, Rachel Barlaam, and staff. Everything was well organized, communication was great, and they made the day extremely special.
Everything was just wonderful but Rachel Barlaam truly was the icing on the wedding cake !
We were thrilled with everything about our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at the Hotel Marlowe in September 2023. The venue is beautiful and unique, with great photo opportunities both inside and outside, and different areas for guests to mingle. The food was delicious and service was excellent. It was so convenient to have nice hotel rooms for the guests to stay in as well as Bambara on site for meals or other meetups. The wedding specialist, Rachel Barlaam, is a pleasure to work with - she is completely organized, responds promptly, and is always super nice and willing to help. All of my vendors commented on how lovely it was to work with Rachel and the hotel. We absolutely loved Hotel Marlowe as our wedding venue!
My daughter's wedding reception was held at the Kimpton Marlowe on October 7, 2023, and we cannot begin to express how great our experience was with this venue and its people from start to finish. The planning process was perfectly handled, with so much respect, support and special attention. Our hands were held throughout the planning stage, and they both listened and gave us great feedback when we needed it. A special shout out to Rachel Barlaam, who is both a total pro, and also a very wonderful and thoughtful person. We knew that Rachel really cared and wanted our day to be special. On the day of the wedding, everything we planned was executed perfectly -- the food, the staff, the timing -- everything.. And we were very aware of Rachel's supportive presence all throughout the evening. A++!
A HUGE thank you to you and EVERYONE at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel (Rachel, Kristen, Erik, Nicola, Chef Adam, the super kind and friendly catering staff, + countless more) who helped coordinate our wedding.
We went from wedding planning to actual wedding in 2 months, and I doubt that would have been possible at any other venue! Everything ran so smoothly, thanks to the endless patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm of the hotel's Event Consultants during this entire process -- we definitely would not have been able to pull off a wedding without their expertise, or their getting to know and understand us as a couple!
They went above and beyond to make our "dream day" beyond what we had even imagined or hoped for! The staff worked long hours the night before and the night of to set everything up, making sure our reception brunch the next morning was ready, etc. Cannot recommend this location more
For our wedding, my husband and I had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at The Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge. We visited the venue and immediately loved it. It is a beautiful space that was able to hold our guests and it was also convenient. We booked this venue almost a year before the wedding and worked with Rachel Barlaam. She was very attentive and patient, especially when we had a lot of questions. As the day got closer, Rachel was very organized and detailed and great at accommodating some last minute changes. Our guests were very happy with the venue and food. One guest mentioned how intimate of a space it was, even though it was 100 guests, it did not feel crowded. We were able to have the second floor of the hotel the day of and it was nice to have the space to ourselves. Rachel and the staff were amazing, welcoming, organized, and professional. We highly recommend The Hotel Marlowe for your wedding!
We had our dream wedding at the Kimpton Marlowe, and can't recommend it enough!! Our guests had the best weekend, and were comfortable staying in the hotel. The location is perfect, as visitors were able to access the city and see the attractions.
Nicola and Rachel were so incredibly helpful during the wedding planning process. They are attentive, flexible, and responsive during every step. Our wedding day went off without a hitch, and it was truly because of their organization behind the scenes. We couldn't have asked for more from the Marlowe!
The Kimpton Marlowe Hotel was the perfect venue for our wedding! Great location, with wonderful photo opportunities inside and nearby, and delicious food and drinks and very helpful staff. Nicola helped us plan everything just the way we'd like -- and had lots of good recommendations for all the decisions that overwhelmed us. We really liked how much of planning and wedding package was done directly through the hotel, vs. having to hire additional outside vendors. The hotel was very reasonable when we were forced to reschedule due to the pandemic (at a time when friends of ours lost their venues and deposits).

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We loved working with you and making your wedding memorable for everyone, even with a few delays :)
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Marlowe in November 2021 and it was perfect. Nicola was on top of everything through the planning process and on the day of, we cannot thank her enough! The hotel room used as the bridal suite was just enough space with the girls getting ready in the bedroom, and those not getting ready were able to hang out in the living room. The ceremony space was the right size as it allowed everyone to be able to see and hear what was happening. Cocktail hour was beautiful - I gave Nicola little direction on what to do besides providing the décor, and it looked amazing! Everyone raved about the food and since we were busy making the rounds, Nicola left a plate of the passed appetizers for us on the sweetheart table. The reception also flowed seamlessly - it truly was a great night. We chose the Marlowe for two main reasons. First was its space. It was one of the only venues in Boston/Cambridge we could find for our wedding size that didn't require a room flip - we could move from one room to the next. And secondly, was how unique the space is. There really isn't much decoration needed as the style of the space speaks for itself. If you are interested in having a hotel wedding, I would absolutely recommend considering the Kimpton Marlowe.

I am so glad we could great a memorable wedding for you and your family. It was a pleasure creating your vision and working with you.
We had our wedding (ceremony & reception) at the Hotel Marlowe in October, and it was absolutely perfect. The space is beautiful, we loved having the ceremony in the park outside, and the food was top notch. We keep hearing from guests how much they loved the night and that it was one of the best wedding they had attended. The entire night went so smoothly and the staff was amazing. Especially Ellie, our hotel/event coordinator, she's amazing! From our first meeting we knew we had to have our wedding here and work with Ellie. She truly works with you to make the day perfect and fit within your style and budget!
We had our wedding (both ceremony and reception) at the Hotel Marlowe last month, and it was truly a dream come true. All of the food was amazing, the space is beautiful, and we keep hearing from guests--and from people who know guests--that it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended. All of the staff were top-notch, and the entire event ran quite smoothly. Ellie is amazing, and we are so grateful for all of her hard work! From the very first time we met, we knew that we would be in very capable hands. She went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding was a reflection of who we are and what we hoped our day would be. This is the type of venue that when we spoke with outside vendors about our wedding, they all had overwhelmingly positive things to say. If we had to do it all over again, we would still choose the Marlowe.
We held our wedding ceremony and reception at the Hotel Marlowe and it was absolutely wonderful! The venue itself is fun and unique and made for great photos. The space was very convenient - having the whole floor dedicated to the wedding, with different sized rooms so that we were able to adjust which rooms we used as our guest list grew... On top of all that, the food was great - we got a lot of compliments - and the location was incredibly convenient. But one of the key factors that won us over with the Marlowe was our hotel/event coordinator, Ellie D. From our first meeting, she was so on top of all of the details, gave great suggestions when we asked, helped us work through budget/package options, and was fantastic to work with throughout all the planning and the event itself. Thanks Ellie D and the Marlowe for helping us make our wedding so wonderful!
We were a guest at this hotel for our wedding at the Multicultural center across the way and the service and room were amazing.
There were plenty of spaces to get ready and take photos in. The staff were also very nice and accommodating. We lost my husbands ring and they were very receptive. We ended up finding it when we got home so no issue there.
My husband was awake enough after the wedding to get breakfast at the actual restaurant they had and I had room service from them the morning of the wedding and we both think they are fantastic (a bit expensive in our taste but we are cheepos anyway so we might be baised on that)
Would absolutely stay again!
We had our wedding at Hotel Marlowe recently, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. First, Ellie is incredible. She was on top of every part of the day, and she was incredibly responsive to all our emails and requests. She was everywhere on the day of, and the entire wedding went off without a hitch. Second, the entire staff was always responsive and professional. Third, the location is fantastic - the interior is great for a wedding, the outdoor space looked fantastic in photos and was easy to get to, and the rooms are excellent. Everyone talked about how much fun they had at the wedding, how much they liked the location, and how delicious all the food was (people were particularly big fans of the short ribs). We didn't have the ceremony at Hotel Marlowe, but we had photos along the canal and cocktails in the courtyard, and everything was perfect.
Last month my husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Hotel Marlowe. We could not be happier with our perfect day! From our very first visit to the hotel we were impressed by the friendly and professional staff, excellent customer service, beautiful and clean hotel, and the hotel's flexibility. Over the past year, working with Hollie and Hotel Marlowe to plan our wedding has been as stress free and easy as wedding planning gets. Hollie, our day-to-day contact and day-of coordinator, has been a life saver. She was well-organized, super helpful, always pleasant and available, and never pushy. Hollie helped us liaise with reservations, catering, AV, and anything else we ever needed or had questions about. She also communicated and worked well with all our vendors. Hollie was there from day one of planning to the day of the wedding and is one of the biggest reasons our day was so seamless and perfect.
One thing I want to point out about Hotel Marlowe is its individuality and character. It does NOT feel like your everyday, corporate hotel. I travel a lot for business (and pleasure), so I definitely had my reservations about having our wedding in a hotel. I didn't want our wedding to feel like a corporate event, held in a boring meeting room, with mediocre catering food. Hotel Marlowe far exceeded all my expectations. The venue is so unique and clean, but most importantly, the food was incredible. We got so many compliments from our guests saying that it was the best wedding food they ever had. Another important note about the food was the chef's flexibility to play around with the menu. We we very happy with the final menu that was served.
Hotel Marlowe is pet friendly. While this fact did not persuade us (we do not have a pet), this may helpful or important for people who are looking to bring or include their pet in their wedding festivities. I also want to highlight that the hotel most definitely does not smell like pets- I never once got an unpleasant whiff or saw any pet hair anywhere.
I am really happy with how everything turned out for our wedding. Hotel Marlowe did an incredible job. Their staff is so pleasant and helpful. The hotel is fun and clean. The food was fresh and delicious. And most importantly, my guests enjoyed themselves.
Ellie and the entire staff of Hotel Marlowe helped my husband and I make our wedding dreams a reality!! Ellie went above and beyond to help me plan a night to remember!! Everyone approached me during our wedding and keeps messaging me to tell me how beautiful everything was and how amazing the food was!! The banquet staff were amazing and I would recommend this venue to anyone in a second!! Thanks to Hotel Marlowe for making us feel like we were part of the Kimpton family and helping create my dream wedding!!
My husband and I got married on 10/24/15, and our wedding was beautiful, fun, and full of incredible memories. We felt completely supported and well taken care of from start to finish. We signed up for our wedding 7 months before the big day, and the event coordinators at the Marlowe made the planning so easy. We loved the package that we were offered. A ceremony on site (either indoors or outdoors in the park); delicious food catered by the hotel's restaurant, Bambara; a suite for our wedding day; valet parking for guests; and room blocks at a great rate. You get so much more than that though. The hotel is chic and gorgeous and recently added a lovely piece of new art. The new steam-punk styled armillary named Celeste is a unique and beautiful sculpture that adds a colorful glow to the entrance of the hotel. The hotel is also in a convenient location along the Lechemere Canal overlooking the Charles River with plenty of parking and quick access to the T and airport.
My husband and I honestly could not have asked for a better wedding experience.
It was important to us that the night have a fun and laid back flow. The team at Hotel Marlowe went above and beyond to take care of us and make our wedding special. We will be sure to keep spreading the word about how amazing it is to have an event at Hotel Marlowe. Thank you!!!
We reserved a block of rooms at the Hotel Marlowe for our wedding. Lynn, who we dealt with when it came to reserving the block and things like that ahead of time, was fantastic, she was so friendly and helpful, and answered every ridiculous question I could come up with. The day of the wedding the staff at the front desk, particularly Connie and Danny (the bellboy) were amazing...they did everything they possible could to accommodate any request, and poor Danny moved every item we lugged in with us to not one, but two, rooms with a huge smile on his face. I couldn't be more grateful for how smoothly our time at the hotel went!
If you're bent on getting married in the city, this is an ideal venue for you _and_ your guests.
Weather permitting, you can have your ceremony outside in Lechmere Park, surrounded by willow trees. You can take your pictures across the street on the esplanade, the city skyline in the background. And you can work with incredible coordinators like Nicola, who helped us plan the reception of our dreams from start to finish--walking us through every option from linens and lighting to the menu, which was _excellent_, thanks to the hotel restaurant's chef, Jeff Silva.
And our guests _loved_ their rooms, loved that they could easily walk from the ceremony to cocktail hour to the dining room. And they raved about the hotel's funky details, openness to having dogs stay, too, and its tone of charm meets luxe.
I can't rate this venue highly enough.
We had our wedding at Hotel Marlowe and we couldn’t be happier about it! We did all the planning via email/phone (we live out of state)- Amy Anderson, the event manager was so polite, professional, organized and accommodated all of our needs. The staff was very friendly and answered any question we threw at them. The décor of the hotel was quirky and unique. Our guests are still talking about how great the staff, rooms, food and overall experience was. The hotel is attached to a mall, which made it easy for last minute errands. It’s also located close to the city of Boston and the T. There was so much to do and we had a blast from the minute we arrived. We would choose Hotel Marlowe again and would recommend them to anyone! Great experience, great staff, great atmosphere and great wedding!
We wanted a fun Friday night cocktail party style wedding and the Hotel Marlowe was the perfect setting. Our guests are still talking about how "cool" the Marlowe was.
My initial experience was not great!! I started working with one individual, who obviously was way over her head as far as planning goes! room blocks that were promised were sold out before my guests could book, communication was terrible and not until I started to work with Angelica did I get my needs met! I would return to the Hotel Marlowe, but knowing that I would have to be on top of everything and ask many questions as well as follow up with everything! WE also used the in-house catering for a brunch the next day! the food was good and the service was good, it was the planning that was a bit unnerving!
Our wedding at the Hotel Marlowe was everything we’d hoped for, and more. Hotel staff across the board were incredibly helpful. Our catering manager, Amy Anderson, was highly professional and played a large part in helping our wedding day go smoothly. We were impressed with her good working relationships with local wedding vendors, her extensive experience with weddings, and her kind demeanor. We loved combining an outdoor wedding ceremony in the small park near the hotel with a cosmopolitan reception in the hotel ballroom—the best of both worlds.
My husband and I viewed many different venues for our wedding. The Hotel Marlowe had a fun sense of quirk in its decor and staff. The hotel was beautiful. It seemed to be the best bang for our buck!
The hotel staff were all professional and courteous. The food was phenomenal, and our guests did not have far to go to get into Boston, or find things to do.
I would definitely recommend Hotel Marlowe to friends and family for any function.
such a nice place, you feel like a king here! def worth the splurge to lay in a pillow top bed with a leopard print robe on!
I had a fabulous wedding at the Hotel Marlowe however I definitely was dealing with a novice catering manager who allowed a few major mistakes to get through that day. I believe that others could have been derailed (I was surprised I wasn't) by such things and that's why I feel it necessary to mention them.
Firstly, at the beginning of my relationship with the catering manager I had asked if she suggested I hire a DOC and she stated that she would be the DOC and that hiring someone would be unnecessary.
So the day of the wedding when I arrive at the hotel at 1:00PM she has not arrived yet. She did not arrive for at least an hour or two and had not arranged for certain things to be delivered to the bridal suite as promised (i.e., items delivered to the hotel the night before, snacks and beverages, etc.) When she did arrive she seemed frazzled and did not seem to have any idea of how to direct.
My pictures were to be before the ceremony and so I had asked the catering manager to bring me down to where I would meet my husband and she didn't know what was going on. She disappeared during pictures, which would have been fined if she ever reappeared...What happened as a result was that I did not have a private route back to the space before the ceremony and ended up walking through all of my guests before the ceremony even began.
Following the ceremony my husband and I were to go to a private room and have a cocktail and a few hors d'oeurves - she told us to just ask her if we'd like anything else and again disappeared.
I had asked for her help in determining the timeline of the evening so that I could communicate that to my band, photog, videographer, etc. Even after multiple discussions about this, my photog was not informed of the same timing as my band and my husband and I "missed" the timing for the cake cutting which screwed up things in the kitchen I later found out.
Ultimately, none of these things ruined my night but I think for brides that are perfectionists or are more nervous that these things could be very upsetting. In hindsight I would have hired a DOC and let the catering manager deal with that person.
Generally regrading the hotel, I think it's absolutely beautiful and unique. I love the art nouveau feel and the bright colors. In terms of this being a great hotel to have a wedding, I think my guests had an amazing time, but we paid for every single item. They nickel-ed and dime-d us right up to the last minute which I know isn't unusual for the industry but still disappointing to experience.
Many of our out-of-town guests and wedding party members stayed in the Hotel Marlowe for my wedding. My husband and I also stayed at the Marlowe. Finally, we had a post wedding brunch here. The staff at the Marlowe is incredibly helpful. Maid service did a fantastic job of restoring order to bridal suite after it was trashed by women getting ready for a wedding, and the brunch was wonderful.
Hotel Marlowe is an amazing and modern venue to have your wedding. Working with Maggie Kirk made our wedding a dream come true. Everything went smooth and she was there with us from day 1. The food, the service and even the valet guys were all excellent!
We had our ceremony and reception at the Hotel Marlowe and it was a great experience. They were really easy to work with and everything came out wonderfully.
The food was phenomenal. Everyone was raving about it. We worked with Maggie and she really helped us along. I highly recommend this venue.
