Kinkead Performance & Events is run by a team of friends who were all born and raised in eastern Tennessee. Close to a one-stop-shop, they offer DJ & officiation services, event coordination, & wedding decor rental to give soon-to-be-weds a seamless, stress-free planning experience and a memorable time on the dance floor. They happily work with couples from all walks of life & financial levels and collaborates with each soon-to-be-wed to ensure their unique style and love story shines through each detail.
You will have multiple packages to choose from to ensure you have a memorable soundtrack to your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The team will customize a ceremony, playlists, & timelines to best suit your tastes. Karaoke, Selfie Stations, Dancing in the Clouds experience, custom monogram projections, extra uplighting and custom mixes are also available to give your celebration a unique, interactive touch.

From the very first conversation, Kris made us feel completely at ease. Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but they handled every detail with such professionalism, care, and calm confidence that we were actually able to enjoy the process.
And then came the unexpected—a snowstorm that forced us to move our wedding from Saturday to Friday. What could have been incredibly stressful turned into something seamless because of them. They personally reached out to vendors, coordinated every change, and handled all the moving pieces without us having to lift a finger. We didn’t have to stress, make a million calls, or worry about what would happen next—they had it completely under control.
On the wedding day, everything ran flawlessly. If there were any hiccups, we never saw them—because they handled everything behind the scenes. We were able to be fully present, soak in every moment, and just enjoy our day, which is something we will be forever grateful for.
Not only are they incredibly talented at what they do, but they are also genuinely kind, thoughtful, and passionate. You can tell they truly care about making your day special and stress-free.

They made it so we could relax and enjoy our day without having to worry about things getting done. I handed over my wedding day binder and they executed everything perfectly. Her team helped steam my wedding dress, put out all of our details and decor, table seating charts, etc. Sydney was so sweet and grounding before they opened the doors and I walked down the aisle. Kris fixed my dress and timed everything perfectly before my groom turned around to see me. The whole team worked so effortlessly with my venue and the rest of my vendors. Everyone seemed to be very in synch. Kris doesn’t play around and definitely stood up for me and my vision against some guests and family members, respectfully.
We also used Kinkead performance and events for our DJ. She did a great job MCing our event, we gave her must plays and do not plays, and she followed this perfectly and also pulled out a bunch of her own suggestions which had a lot of people on the dance floor all night! We went to Tennessee once before the wedding and when we came back, they had everything ready to go for the big day. They were consistently in contact getting all of the details ironed out via phone calls, Facetime, and pictures as they were creating the wedding of our dreams. Everything went smoothly and was so much better than we could have imagined. They were able to shift gears in an instant when a sudden downpour soaked our outdoor wedding, but once the storm had passed, they got the party started again. not meet the expectations we had. Showing up wearing a baseball hat and shorts was a little disappointing, but not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. We went over on a call with Kris exactly what songs we wanted to play and when, but pre ceremony he didn’t have them correct and said we “last minute changed them” which never happened. Leaving the ceremony we had to ask him to play the music, even though it had been clearly laid out. We sent cocktail hour and reception playlist a month prior to the wedding and he did not play either. I had specific songs we really wanted for cocktail hour and he started off with R&B, which we definitely did not want at all. my coordinator and I had to ask him numerous times to please open the dance floor, which he did not. 30 minutes later he did, with again the wrong playlist. I asked him to please play the playlist I sent to him and he told me no, he had other songs he was going to play first then play what we requested and had already sent out. Eventually the music was fine, but honestly he was just playing off of my Spotify playlist, so in hind side I would’ve saved my nearly $1000 and just played it myself and would’ve gotten the music we wanted the whole time. They were kind and stayed later then they were booked for, but the whole experience was highly disappointing.

Kris and Amanda put together floral arrangements THAT NIGHT for an arch we hadn’t planned at all and it turned out so beautifully. They are such great, genuine, and friendly people that I am so thankful to have met and have as a part of our wedding day and planning process.
