Kirigin is such a special venue. It is very private and beautiful, you would think you were somewhere else - Tuscany maybe! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. I liked that Kirigin didn't require you to use any specific vendors which allowed you to shop vendors based on your budget and what you wanted. They always offered great recommendations but were ultimately very flexible. It was a great value.
Kirigin Cellars was an excellent choice for our big day. We had our ceremony and our reception there. They were very accommodating when we were booking the venue and we also booked the caterer that they suggested, which was an excellent choice. This made things very easy, less vendors to coordinate and all the food and drink was bundled together. The venue is gorgeous and the staff was very friendly. We got so many comments about how beautiful everything was. Our day turned out perfectly and everything went according to plan. The only thing that could have been better was some of the communication leading up to the wedding. They were responsive to my emails but often times with not all the information. I had initially been told we could set up on Friday after the rehearsal and drop things off, but three days before when I confirmed that I was told they had an event and neither of those things would be possible. They allowed us to come early in Saturday and we had plenty of time, it just would have been nice to know that. We also couldn't set up the lower bar until later in the day because of the soccer games which again, wasn't a problem, but would have been nice to know ahead of the day. They took great care of us while we were setting up and getting ready and we're extremely accommodating if we needed anything. The staff was also excellent with shuttling guests since we had many older relatives that needed to use the golf cart. Overall, it was wonderful and I would definitely recommend having your wedding here!
The venue itself is gorgeous and not too bad for in terms of price. The staff was a bit difficult to work with on the day of and a lot that we discussed for the day written in email was disregarded. The response from the staff was that “we didn’t discuss this”. The bathrooms and power were completely out of service the morning of our wedding and guests had to be golf cart shuttles to a porta potty until it was fixed. I heard from numerous guests that the staff was rude to them. Overall, the wedding was beautiful and the venue itself is gorgeous but the owner and staff do not treat you as a client or customer and really make you feel like you’re burdening them. We had an earlier wedding and I heard countless times by their coordinator how early “we were making her wake up”. It was uncomfortable.
Kirigin is great. Beautiful venue with tons of options for ceremony site and reception site. Dhruv, the owner, worked with us because our plans were impacted by COVID. They were super understanding and wonderful. Our wedding was the most beautiful day and when we get to celebrate with a big party, we will be having it at Kirigin too!
I always wanted to have that perfect first time and only time wedding. I truly got that Kirigin Cellar. Hannah was great. Even tho we had some before hiccup with the contract because of new changes. It still went perfect. If you want a great scenery and love wine. This is the perfect place. Wedding was on June 22, 2019
My wife and I hosted our wedding at Kirigin Cellars in November. For so many reasons Kirigin was absolutely amazing. Our day turned out better than we could have ever dreamed.
For some background, my wife and I originally chose a different venue in the area to host our wedding. After planning for almost a year, 3 weeks before the wedding date we received news that our venue had "lost their license to host weddings", and we would have to find a new venue. After quite a bit of panic, we found Kirigin, who had our date available. We live out of state so without seeing the venue, the staff at Kirigin (as well our wedding planner) were nice enough to walk us through all aspects of our wedding, provide maps to coordinate with vendors, facetime to see the property, ect, to help us re-plan our whole wedding in just three weeks. They worked with all vendors whom we had originally hired to make sure the wedding ran seamlessly.
I can safely say that this venue was breathtaking. The grounds are so beautiful and set the scene for such an amazing day for us. There are many set up options to choose from for each aspect of the wedding. We decided to have our ceremony in a cut-out area in the vineyards. This made for a very intimate, beautiful setting. We also opted to host dinner outdoors, while dancing was inside the main house. Every area we used was beautifully set up and unique.
We've heard countless remarks from our friends and family about how beautiful the venue was, and such a great space to host a wedding. Not to mention how great the wine was!
We cannot thank Kirigin Cellars enough for a amazing effort and making our wedding day truly unbelievable. I could not recommend this venue more highly.
Gracious and professional support throughout the whole process. They worked very well with my vendors prior and day of the event. My wedding couldn't have gone any smoother without Hannah, she made the day perfect for me! My guests have nothing but complements about the newly remodeled Barrel House, the beautiful grounds, and the wine.
The venue is beautiful but there are so many beautiful venues in the bay area. We also got lucky that the weather was perfect and we had decent rain this year keeping the hills green in background which I do not give the venue credit for. We went through 4 coordinators from the time we booked them. Communication was somewhat harder because of that and never found a rhythm. The coordinator we had once we got to the wedding was unprofessional and rude to bridal party and officiant. She attacked the officiant both the day before and day of wedding even telling the staff in front of him "this is obviously his first time, I bet the ceremony doesn't even last 5 minutes and is a struggle". Imagine if this had screwed up our ceremony. There are to many instances of the staff being rude and unprofessional to recount them all here. When talking with the owner he starts all of his statements telling you to understand how difficult his labor market is but that is not my concern it is solely his as the owner and its not an acceptable excuse. Our day ended up being amazing but that was largely because of the other vendors that we found and had nothing to do with them. Considering a lack of continuity and the high staff turnover with obvious holes in hospitality skills I wouldn't recommend.
We had our wedding at Kirigin Cellars in September, and happily recommend it!
In particular, many of the pro's include:
- Gorgeous venue with multiple options for ceremony location
- Pricing is per guest, and you have access to the full selection of their wines, in addition to a few beers. We liked not having to purchase a minimum number of cases as many other vineyards require. (And it was great to offer our guests so many options with their wine selection!)
- Responsive & professional; they took extra steps to accommodate our guests when we had an unexpected heat wave leading up to and including the wedding day (parasols, plenty of water, keeping guests in a shady area & not seating them until just before the ceremony)
- Kayce, our day-of coordinator, was easy to work with, and I was especially impressed at how good she was with our dog, who was our Ring Bearer. She was patient and understanding with him.
*One of my friends did mention she was a little short with them while they were helping to set up. She was nothing but great when I interacted with her, but this is the only point for improvement I can think of.
- They made sure to have some appetizers and drinks available for the wedding party in the 'break room' so that we could grab something quick between the ceremony and photos, which was nice because otherwise we wouldn't have had a chance to try them.
- Overall, just a great experience. Strongly recommend checking this out if you're looking for a venue in the area!
I was very thorough in searching through Bay Area venues (cross checked multiple wedding websites & sources to come up with a spreadsheet of over 300 options so we could keep track of which venues we had already eliminated--yeah I can be a bit insane about organization ;) ). We visited 6 in person, and ended up picking Kirigin.
To us, the most important factors were flexibility (they let my now-husband bring his homebrew brew to serve in addition to the wine provided by them, and they allow clients to provide their own hard alcohol bar "with restraint" if desired), and they were very accommodating and open to ideas of how to do things. As mentioned in another review, they do have a set timeline of wedding/music ends at 10pm, and everyone and thing must be out by 10:30pm, which is a tight timeline. We used Mama Mia's (one of the preferred vendors) for catering, and used Shawna at Mama Mia's for our day-of coordination, so they are used to dealing with Kirigin's timeline limitations and it wasn't an issue.
They weren't the absolute cheapest option, but when you factor in the open bar, staffing, chair/table rentals, etc., it was at least on par if not better than other venues. Additionally, using their preferred caterer of Mama Mia's is also very cost effective and exceptionally good value.
The weekend of our wedding was very rainy (it poured non-stop the morning of--there were even flood warnings), so we did have to move our ceremony inside, but Kirigin was prepared with various options for how we could set it up and very active and considerate in making sure the indoor spaces were ready for use.
We were very happy with our choice--both Samantha and Perri were very responsive (we communicated primarily via email). Kirigin was a wonderful venue. They are experienced with hosting and coordinating so that events go smoothly (the clubhouse was built primarily for hosting events), but are still small and personable enough to tailor the experience to each couple and ensure that your needs are met.
The final two walkthroughs we had leading up to the wedding in the last month and a half were so incredibly reassuring--it was clear that the team was on top of things and ready to go, and they followed through the day of.
The most perfect wedding, at the most perfect venue, in a secluded romantic area. Kirigin was the first and only venue I visited. The moment I arrived, I knew I wanted to get married there. On the day of my wedding, everything ran so smooth. I was super hesitant since there was a wedding the friday night before, but you couldn't even tell. It is always immaculate, the staff made me feel comfortable, and Perri was super helpful with all of my needs. I had three compliments from the guests at my wedding, 1. They said the venue was absolutely beautiful #hiddengem 2. Everything just flowed perfectly. 3. The wine. On top of everything, my wedding was on a 90' day, and you couldn't even tell when you were inside the Reception Hall. Also, there is so many places on the property to take beautiful photos, you don't even have to leave the venue for photos. Highly Recommend! I will forever love this place.
I had the wedding of my dreams at Kirigin. There was a few bumps along the way but the staff was professional and always worked with us to find a solution. It ended up raining the whole day but the backup option the venue had worked out just great and we had a beautiful, intimate ceremony. We used most of the vendors recommended by Kirigin and they were all great and I think it was a huge advantage because they had all worked together and really knew the venue. The only downside is they only give you 30 minutes after the reception to clean up and get all your decorations out. My coordinator was running around like crazy and ended up forgetting a few things because she was so rushed.
I had my wedding at Kirigin Cellars last September. Beautiful time of year, the scenery was green and luscious. My now-husband and I weren't familiar with this venue and had zero expectations for it. But then we arrived, the owner, Dhruv, showed us around and we saw so many possibilities! This place was so FLEXIBLE. We had so many options. The prices were very fair. Perri was communicative throughout the whole process. We had our ceremony and reception here and I'm glad we did. Everything went smoothly. All of our guests raved about the venue location. In fact, I ran into one of my videographers at another wedding we attended and he said our venue was nicer. Thanks :) I'm glad we found this gem.
We were so lucky to have found this gem for our wedding venue. Surrounded by hills and vineyards, it is nicely tucked in and the quietness of the location made the venue so romantic. Compared to other wedding venues, this venue is one of the most flexible wedding venue we came across---Kirign does not have the lists of preferred vendors that we must choose from so we were able to plan our day as we imagined. For all the services they provided, it is reasonably priced.
The staff here goes above and beyond as well. They are all so very friendly; every time we visited, there wasn’t a time where a staff did not greet us . Perri was more than accommodating to our needs---she kept us in the loop of our requests, let us use the venue much longer for decorations/preparations, and met with us numerous times in person so we can go over the wedding day in details. She also gave us good tips during these meetings so our day can go smoothly. On the day of the wedding, Cynthia also acted like our wedding planner (we did not have one nor did we request her to) by coordinating our vendors and keeping us on time. Our guests also loved the beauty of this venue and the wonderful staff. We are truly thankful for their kind hearts and flexibility in letting us have one of the most special days of our lives.
A beautiful venue for a wedding, but I would suggest finding somewhere else. The staff at Kirigin, especially the event coordinator Perri, are very unprofessional and uncooperative. We sat down a few weeks before the wedding and went over the table set-up and location of the dance floor. However, when they opened the doors at the wedding, there was no area left for the dance floor. When our wedding coordinator asked, she was told: "Put the f...ing dance floor wherever you f....ing want." We had also discussed having a sweetheart table for the bride and groom. During our meeting before the wedding, Perri showed us a table in her office that we could use; when I called the week of the wedding to confirm that we could still use that table, she told me she had no table we could use.
Two months prior to the wedding, my daughter had called Perri to set up the rehearsal dinner that Friday at Kirigin and to see if it was possible to set up at the venue that same day. It was agreed that we would be allowed to come and set up early for the wedding the next day. However, when my daughter called the week of the wedding, Perri told us that we would not be allowed to come in until 3pm, instead of earlier in the day as discussed. Once my daughter and I arrived and were unloading the beer and cookies for the wedding that was to be stored in the kitchen for the next day, Perri was absolutely rude and nasty to us. When my daughter was trying to put the beer in the fridge, she noticed there was other beer and food in the fridge, which was supposed to be empty for our use. When my daughter asked if she could put the beer in the fridge, Perri yelled at her, saying that the beer in the fridge was hers and that we were not allowed to remove it.
We had contracted to have two golf carts to shuttle people in and out from the parking lot. During the reception, I never saw either one of them bringing people in to the reception or later, back out to the parking lot. In fact, I was told after the wedding that Perri was driving people around Kirigin on "night tours", which was not something I wanted her doing nor a purpose for which I had paid. We had a lot of older family members in attendance and this was incredibly inconvenient for them to not have the golf carts readily available for them. Also, there was one staff person by one of the carts dressed in torn jeans and a tee shirt, which was inappropriate attire for a wedding.
Additionally, we were not told to bring glasses for water and in the middle of the reception we were told they did not have enough glasses and were going to charge for the plastic glasses they brought out. However, we later saw lots of extra glasses in one of the back rooms.
The day of the reception, they wanted to charge more to open the doors early for the florist to bring in flowers and they wanted to charge more if clean-up took more than one hour. As it turned out, the wedding and clean-up were completed 1 1/2 hours earlier than contracted; we did not get reimbursed for that nor for the lack of the contracted shuttle service that did not happen. There was a soccer game when our wedding coordinator arrived to set-up the day of the wedding, and she was not allowed to set-up anything outside until the games were over and the people gone; this did not leave her much time to set-up her decorations on the patio area. When we first talked with Dhru, he assured us we would have the whole day there, but this was a false promise.
