KOMOLMIS Designs & Events

we expected from a paid wedding planning service. Instead of reducing stress, the process created more of it. The design work was a major issue. Our website was clunky, visually bare, and worse than free platforms like Zola/Knot. We repeatedly had to follow up for spelling corrections, edits, and updates. RSVP management was poor: guests did not receive confirmation emails, causing duplicate RSVPs and forcing us to manually verify submissions. The site launched with mobile formatting issues and often contained outdated information until we pushed for corrections. The same pattern appeared across printed materials. Invitations, envelopes, menus, bar menus, program cards, and name cards contained repeated spelling, formatting, or layout errors despite source information being available. Some errors were caught only after printing, requiring extra trips to the printer. Our Korean-language invitations included the wrong website address, making them unusable and forcing my wife to create a separate online invitation herself. Other examples included “Run” instead of “Rum,” “Early Grey” instead of “Earl Grey,” missing menu descriptions, inconsistent guest-name spelling, and text/design overlap. Budget management was another major failure. We spent roughly 70% more than the initial budget discussed on our intro call. Although we were told the budget was tight but manageable, budget discipline never seemed to be a priority. One example was a proposed $8,000 lighting canopy that would have become a sunk cost whether or not it was used, even though a cheaper, more flexible option existed. That alternative was only explored because we asked. The budget sheet was rarely updated unless requested. Communication was disorganized. Emails were scattered, deadlines were often missed, and vendor follow-up frequently felt delayed. When we contacted vendors directly, we often received faster responses than through our planner. Meetings were rescheduled last minute, and they sometimes missed calls without notice. When that happened, information was not reliably relayed, wasting our time and creating confusion. The rehearsal/wedding day made these issues impossible to ignore. The rehearsal began late and left the wedding party more confused, not less. On the wedding day, the ROS was not followed. Our ceremony dry-run was delayed, guests had to be cleared out while we rushed through key logistics, and I had to call to point out that we were behind schedule. Key details were handled at the last minute or poorly coordinated: veil placement was unclear, rings were retrieved minutes before the ceremony, ring-exchange instructions were given moments before entering, one boutonniere arrived just before the ceremony, and a last-minute entrance decision got the bride’s dress and veil dirty. The ceremony itself started late. There were also basic guest-facing misses. The flower vases we purchased for guests were left unused in my trunk despite our floral spend. Overall, while some final products looked acceptable, the correction, oversight, and stress required from us was disproportionate. We hired a planner to create structure, reduce mistakes, and help us stay within budget. Our experience was the opposite. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Ab4gOtE66EyFrvWCSFTr6iUSr_nrgO3Y?usp=sharing

every penny in my opinion. My daughter and her fiancé were able to do all the planning with Natalie and her team and the wedding was a perfect reflection of their vision for the event. The vendors they recommended were great and creative (not the usual cookie cutter types). The attention to detail /run of show was extraordinary. The wedding was wonderful on every level. Of course there were things that probably didn’t go perfectly but we were never aware of them as Natalie and her team handled it all. I’m still thinking about “all the things we never had to think about” and how easy the planning process was …at least for the mother of the bride!

alking to Natalie, Hilary and Abby every month/every week! We got engaged and I knew immediately I needed to hire a wedding planner because we my partner and I work long hours at our jobs and didn't know where we would begin. Natalie and the team helped us find the most perfect venue, did venue visits with us, called out certain areas where we would have to spend more money to turn the venue into something I wanted. In the end, we found a venue that the team showed us, and from there we kicked off the planning process! Her team guided and supported us every step of the way, while reminding me to not get too ahead of myself. And thank god they did because I would have driven myself crazy without them. They took all the ideas from inside my head and designed my wedding so perfectly. Throughout the wedding planning process, they kept communication with us, they recommended and hired the most perfect vendors on our behalf, and they were just such a pleasure to work with for the year we were planning our wedding. On the wedding day, her team was so precise and even my wedding party commented on how well they were being taken care of by my wedding planning team and how this wedding was the best and true to the couple wedding they have ever been to! Everyone took note of how professional Natalie and team were and myself and Elias are so thankful we were recommended Komolmis Designs by our friends. 10/10 would hire again!

e for the details of the wedding and have plenty of time to discuss and plan out what was needed. I want to start off by saying if we only hired Komolmis team for the day of coordination we probably would be less disappointed and have provided a 3 star rating. During the pre-engagement call, we discussed our needs of needing interactive design help, our vendor needs, as well as pacing ourselves so we do not need to avoid the stress of a last-minute planning. All things Komolmis team said they were ready to take on, reassuring us that they only did 2 weddings a month to ensure that every couple got undivided attention and we could work through the timelines and adjust as needed. Though we had monthly calls and we got most of our meeting recaps sent to us, it seemed nothing came out of it, we were either repeating ourselves constantly and if we had any questions, we would not get an answer back for weeks without us following up with them. And though we pushed for items to be moved up, it was little to no avail. As for their to-dos and follow-ups we would almost never get it on promised timelines and required us chasing. We were constantly told the market was extremely hot and we had to move quickly, but the vendor list was never provided to us in a timely manner. When it came to them helping with vendor responses, it seemed that they did not reach when they said they did, oftentimes they tell me they are waiting for a response, but if we reached out directly, we would get an immediate response and it wasn't just with one vendor but multiple. It seemed that engaging them a year in advance had little to no effect and they realistically would not or could not focus on our wedding till a month or so prior to the wedding itself. With the lack of attention and time management from Komolmis designs we had to rush through all the design items and were not able to iterate through different design ideas as I originally hoped and asked for. On top of that it we had to proofread their assets that they produced as there were often common spelling mistakes and lost requested details, we filled out the spreadsheets with addresses and somehow it would be incorrect in the print layouts! As for the day of the event, they did come and check in with us to see if we needed anything and everything did go off without a hitch, but I cannot say for sure if this was due to Komolmis or the other vendors. If you know exactly what you need and you just need someone to help execute (i.e., you know your exact wordings, designs, theme) Komolmis Designs can assist with your needs, but if you need someone to help with envisioning and/or designing your wedding we don’t feel they can dedicate enough time to be able to help this.
