Kool Daddy's BBQ

Our experience was up and down with this vendor. When we originally booked this caterer, we had a contact named, Brittany, who was wonderful!! She was in constant contact with me in making sure everything was heard in our wants/needs to ensure our big day went smoothly! We had our taste testing with her and still felt like our decision was made correctly. However, when we were a few months out I realized I had not heard from our caterer in awhile. So I reached out and found out that Brittany was no longer with the vendor and she told me who I should reach out to... I contacted the owner who told me they sent out a massive email in regards to Brittany leaving and who the contacts moving forward would be.. I looked all over my email & junk folder and never got one. Would have been curious to see if someone would have ever reached out to me if I didn't. I was given a new contact that works with the vendor and will leave her name unnamed. But with this new contact we weren't given the same care as we did before. We asked her opinion on how much alcohol we should order based on our number of attendees, it was way under than what we actually bought (and if we went with her estimate, we would have ran out of alcohol), I would text her and ask questions regarding bar packages and pricing and she would run around giving me different numbers and always seemed confused on who she was talking with. It just seemed as if the communication that was there before was not up to par with the new contact. The other thing that made it 3 stars was that I was told the caterers would arrive one hour before the ceremony and they ended up being almost 30 minutes late and WE had to contact them to ask where they were at instead of getting a message letting us know that they would be a bit late. Lastly, we heard some feedback from our guests that some of their chicken was undercooked and wasn't able to be eaten... Although there were several bumps on the wedding day, I will say the staff that they sent over were amazing. They were sweet and as accommodating as they could be! Overall, I didn't want to give a poor score because of the recent experience but wanted to incorporate the first portion of our experience with this caterer. Hopefully, for the future events the help will be a better experience for you than it was with us.

If I could give 10 stars I would. They are so accommodating for what you want for your wedding and Chef Mike is so talented! The brisket, OMG, the brisket is to die for! We loved everything we tasted and narrowing it down for the wedding was hard! The extra special reason we love Kool Daddy's so much, is Melissa. She is the kindest, sweetest, most helpful person. She became a second mom during the wedding planning process and made sure I never had to stress about the catering. She made sure my husband and I were well taken care of the whole reception!

Catered our wedding- the taste was wonderful and everyone seemed to enjoy it. We had quite a few pans leftover to take home which I enjoyed. The staff was really nice and seemed to work very hard. I wanted to give 4/5 just because of a few things, on the final confirmation document there was a salad with dressing listed which we never asked for but I thought since it was listed, maybe it was just included with the bbq- anyway, there was no salad. Chef Mike was sweet and did our tasting- he said he would be there at our wedding but ended up not being there, my husband was disappointed there. I felt like I was the one reaching out a lot of the time to get details, final lists, etc. As a bride I felt like it should be the other way around. Lastly, originally at our tasting we talked about the buffet table being set up a certain way with certain serving dishes etc. and that was not used. This could have been due to COVID but I wasn't made aware of the change ahead of time. We had pulled pork, chicken, mac, green beans, and corn pudding- everything was fabulous and I couldn't have asked for a better tasting meal. Just some planning stuff was a little less than perfect. I would absolutely recommend Kool Daddys for anyone's event.

Kool Daddy's BBQ helped us out of a huge jam. With all the craziness of Covid we had to change our venue 3 weeks before our wedding and moved it to an outdoor venue and they were able to cater it without any issues. All of our guests raved about the food. Highly recommend the Brisket and Salmon and the baked potato bar was a huge hit. Everything was very good! Prices were very reasonable and their service during the wedding was excellent! I can't recommend them enough if you want awesome BBQ and legit sides go with Kool Daddy's BBQ!

All the staff at Kool Daddys BBQ are super friendly and Chef Michael cooks great BBQ. They worked with me around the Covid19 situation and sent caterers to help serve the buffet. The caterers were super helpful during the wedding, as it was a very busy time for us. They will work out whatever you need.

The meal was catered for our wedding on 6/12/20 Everything was delicious was brought and served by Brittany she was very friendly and did a great job. Best prices I was able to find and took a chance so glad I did. also was very short notice and they came through.

Hands sown Best BBQ in Columbus!!! Probably in all of Ohio. I cannot wait till they open a Brick and mortar!!!! Brisket so tender and flavorful, the pulled pork was absolutely amazing!!! We had smoked meatballs and smoked stuffed mushrooms as the hors d'eourves!!! OMG!!! So good. Also most importantly the Mac and Cheese is the best!! Everyone raved on the Mac and cheese. We believe they should compete for best Mac and cheese. We had 300 People in our wedding and everyone loved the food. Lastly but not the least, the service provided was impeccable. Chef Mikes assistant and Catering coordinator, Melisa went above and beyond to make everything look great and made sure the caterers were on top of everything. This review is long but everyone must know that My wedding was perfect!!!!! I highly recommend!!

I am a BBQ snob!! Have had BBQ at many different places and states!! Hands down best BBQ ever!! Everything was fresh, tender and flavorful!! Between the service and food, our wedding was just so fun and amazing!!!

SO DELICIOUS!! Everyone raved about the food!! Chef Michael was so attentive and made sure everything was perfect before our big day and his staff was AMAZING day off! The were very sweet and handled everything and the food was amazing!! Down home BBQ and the pulled pork was so good it didn’t even need sauce! So good!!

My fiancé and I love BBQ and I’m from Texas and don’t play when it comes to bbq - or my brisket. We had our tasting tonight and when I tasted Chef Mikes brisket, I literally almost started crying. I told him that it tasted like home. Summer nights, bon fires and family in the yard ... I’m 1600 miles away and my bday is sunday, this was the best bday gift he could have given me. Allen my fiancé said I don’t care what I need to do - if he makes you feel like that imma make Kool Daddys happen for our day! The food - OMG the FOOD!!! 😳😳😳❤️❤️❤️

Wonderful caterers and service. The food was the most talked about during our whole night. We absolutely love Kool Daddys. We cannot wait till their food trucks and restaurant opens!!! Wonderful BBQ!!!!!

Kool Daddys BBQ made our special day memorable. Robyn was amazing to work with. She was so detailed in everything we wanted and she made sure that our day was perfect. The BBQ was amazing. We are BBQ "snobs" and their Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Smoked Turkey was to die for. Everyone also raved about the Mac and cheese and green beans. The Green Beans were so flavorful. Kool Daddy's really made our day wonderful.

Kool daddy's gave us a wonderful experience. The BBQ was awesome. The variety of options and the amount of money we saved was huge. They made the experience worth it and stress free.

My wedding was wonderful. Best BBQ ever. and The staff was amazing. Chef and Robyn were so easy to work with. I actually was going to book with City BBQ but decided to go with Kool Daddy's. It was amazing. My wedding was exactly how I planned it to be.

Brisket was perfect; Pulled pork was perfect. OH MY GOD The Ribs were amazing. I cannot wait to try the new restaurant and food truck when it launches in a few months. I honestly was going to go with a very popular BBQ place here in Columbus. But Kool Daddy's provides so much more and clearly met our budget more than anyone else. The sauces were scratch made and the corn pudding was the best Ive ever had. They really take pride in their food and our guests loved it.

OMG! Kool Daddy's did my wedding and the food was excellent!!! I love BBQ and this, by far, is my favorite. Not to mention they really did a great job on my wedding. The staff is so kind and fun. I saved a lot of money with Kool Daddy's and yet the food and service is better than so many others. Thank you Kool Daddy's
