We had our wedding at this absolutely stunning venue on Saturday October 30th. John and Kate went above and beyond for us. Kate and John were there for me and my fiancé the whole way. They have great advice and literally can give you help in any area of the wedding planning process. They treated us like family. The venue is gorgeous! The pictures don't do it justice. The staff was on top of everything and very friendly. I definitely recommend the house DJ James! He gets everyone on the dance floor. The food was impeccable! Your guests don't have to choose a meat they get both. I am very picky on how my meat is cooked and it was perfect. My guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about the food, service and venue. John and Kate made our wedding day absolutely amazing! Don't look any further for a wedding venue because this is the place!
My husband and I had the most incredible experience at Kotecki’s, we were married there and had our reception on 08/03/2024. All staff members from owners down to waiters and bartenders were friendly, courteous, and cared about the quality of our day. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! Amazing food, beautiful space, VIP treatment, all made being a bride such an easy and stress free experience.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Kotecki’s and their staff. I’m a perfectionist and I’m terrible at making decisions so those qualities together made wedding planning ridiculously stressful for me. Looking back, I genuinely cannot imagine working with anyone other than Kotecki’s.
My husband and I looked at MANY venues prior to Kotecki’s but there was always something we didn’t like either about the venue itself (e.g., no windows, no outdoor space, too “banquet hall-y”) or the person we met with (e.g., not personable). Our meetings generally lasted maybe 15 minutes or so. Then, we met with Kotecki’s… we left over an hour later and we were sold. We knew that these were the kind of people we wanted to work with and trust with our wedding.
As wedding planning progressed, we got to know the Kotecki’s staff more and more. Long story short, I corresponded with Kate back and forth more times than I can count addressing my concerns and indecisiveness and I ultimately chose to let her and my florist (Blossoms N Treasures) basically take the reigns as far as décor, design, etc. because I didn’t know what I was doing and couldn’t actualize my ideas. I had way too many tabs open on my computer with contending centerpiece ideas, cake toppers, seating charts, etc. and I became very overwhelmed. We saw our room (the Cecilia room) multiple times prior to our wedding when we stopped by Kotecki’s for meetings, to drop stuff off, etc. so I honestly wasn’t anticipating having any sort of emotional reaction to seeing the room on our wedding day. The moment I walked into the room, I honestly started to cry. Somehow after expressing the jumble of ideas in my head, Kotecki’s executed the most beautiful reception I could’ve ever imagined. They absolutely transformed the already beautiful room into the perfect space for me from the stunning seating chart (which they made) and welcome area to the linens to the floral arrangements to the uplighting and everything in between.
They were so accommodating and always went above and beyond. There were times during the planning process that I started to doubt what I was doing so I asked to swing by to yet again check out the space and talk through things and they would always be welcoming and help calm my nerves. I quickly learned that they don’t accept anything less than perfect from themselves, which was reassuring to me.
The outdoor space was beautiful. Our wedding day was HOT so their A-frame tent was perfect to provide a cooler place for people to sit and socialize during cocktail hour (but it would be great for a rainy day, too). Their gazebo, waterfall, landscaping, and surrounding trees created a picturesque atmosphere.
Before our wedding, whenever we said our reception was going to be at Kotecki’s, nearly every single person would respond, “Their food is so good!” I must say, they weren’t wrong. From the hors d'oeuvres to the late night snacks, everything was cooked & plated perfectly and served promptly. People may not remember (or recognize) that I upgraded to higher quality napkins but they will always remember how delicious their meal was.
I know I’m biased, but it’s 3 months later and people are still telling us how much they enjoyed our wedding and how beautiful it was. Since day one of planning, I was worried about having regrets about our wedding day decisions and I can honestly say I wouldn’t change a single thing; it was perfect (and I have Kotecki’s to thank for that).
Any questions?
Ratings; 1 being low 5 being great: The venue itself was beautiful -5, Horsd'oeuvres - 5, Main course - 2, Chicken under cooked, not raw but, close, Three dinners sent back - over 20 complaints from guest due to the chicken. Staff attentiveness to details -3, Wrong cake cutting knifes put out, never checked in during the event to see how things were going. Nothing but excuses when I spoke to our contact from Koteckis. There was absolute no apologizes. Maybe, it was just a bad day for Koteckis, it happens. But when you pay good money for hopefully, a once in a life time event you expect more than what we received.
don’t even know where to begin to describe how AMAZING of a venue Kotecki’s is. Everything from the atmosphere, food, music, decor, location, and all the tiny details in between - we cannot say enough great things. John and Kate are absolutely incredible and are amazing at what they do. My husband and I knew right when we walked into Kotecki’s that we found our wedding venue and over the last two and a half years the two of them have become more than just our “wedding venue managers” and instead good friends - they truly make you feel like family right when you walk in the door! We had to postpone our wedding due to COVID and I am SO thankful we had them to work with - always made sure we were taken care of, did whatever they needed to reschedule our date, and always put our minds at ease to ensure we’d have the perfect day and it truly was everything I imagined it to be. Our guests still rave over the food (filet and chicken cordon bleu for the win!) and their in house DJ had our entire wedding on the floor dancing all night long. Our wedding night was absolutely magical, John and Kate were so attentive to every detail and made sure not only myself and husband were taken care of all night long, but our guests as well. Kate even came to the rescue to bustle my wedding dress at cocktail hour! The outdoor patio was an added bonus to our entire event - John added so many final touches weeks, and even days before our wedding and everything outside on the patio was absolutely beautiful & Kate transformed all the decor inside to everything I pictured it to be! We will never forget how special they made us feel as the bride and groom & their help in making our big day a night we will never forget. We are so grateful for their efforts and outstanding professionalism; I truly wish we could hit rewind on our weekend. Would recommend their service a thousand times over!
Kotecki's was magnificent for everything we needed on our special day. John and Kate did everything and then some.
Hands down, the best food we (or any of our guests) have ever had at a wedding or banquet facility.
Quality, efficient, and professional service that ran without a hitch.
A beautiful venue that is well maintained and inviting to all guests.
Open minded, creative, and flexible management who helped us along through the many various stages of planning a wedding and helped us prepare for the most wonderful night of our lives.
I can not recommend John and Kate and the entire Kotecki's team enough.
My husband and I got married this past weekend on 9/21/19. We started planning our wedding almost 2 years ago. From start to finish everything was perfect. John spent two hours with us at our first meeting making sure all of our questions were answered explaining absolutely everything to us! He even made sure he has additional staff on hand if our meeting ran over which it did. But he was prepared. Everything in between our first meeting to our last in which we talked over all the game plan for that day was wonderful. Kate was there to guide me and answer my questions and also calm me down when I was panicking! John and Kate were amazing. They communicated effectively and timely throughout the entire process. Day of, everything was BEAUTIFUL and they went above and beyond adding fine little details to make sure our day was magical. The food, wow... it was phenomenal. Our appetizers were great. My favorites were the crab cakes and bacon wrapped scallops. DELISH. We had dual plated chicken and filet, with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was mouth watering good and cooked to perfection. Words cannot describe how amazing Koteckis was and I will recommend them over and over again. 10/10😍
Our wedding at Kotecki's could not have been better. John and Kate were amazing to work with - both very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They were there during the rehearsal, set up and the big day to make sure it all went perfect. The food was phenomenal and service was spot on. The venue is beautiful and has many options for indoor and outdoor events. We highly recommend this venue for any wedding or big gathering. You won't be disappointed.
Kate was was a NIGHTMARE to work with while planning. I found her very rude during our interactions AFTER the contract was signed of course. How nice for her. Once your locked in she can treat you however she wants. She even told me that we could not take any of our leftover food home on wedding day because it was New York State law. She was ridiculous from the start. I even had some complaints from our guests because of her attitude problem. John and Kate didn’t even bother to ask how they did at the wedding. HM I wonder why. You think after shelling out thousands of dollars for a very expensive wedding you’d care to wonder how you did to serve us. Wedding was beautiful only ugly thing there was her personality and service.Think twice before considering these guys.
It irks me to give even 1 star but half a star was not an option. Never have I’ve been to a wedding we’re the was not enough servers or enough food. It was family style and the asparagus and chicken was not enough to make it around the table once. People actually did not get a serving of some of the entrees, and when we asked for more after being told by our waitress “let me know if you need more” we could not find her. When a waitress finally came she returned with a dinner plate of asparagus there was 6 spears to serve 4 people. Half our table was not served salad and a guest had to chase down our waitress to serve the rest of our table. At one point she just disappeared and there was no one to replace her, according to another waitress she had to leave and they ran out of chicken. We had to fetch our own water.... seriously that is ridiculous. Coffee was put out with out cups, hors d’oeuvres served with out plates and napkins.
The website promotes “white glove service and the staff is trained to go above and beyond to ensure the meals are served in a timely fashion as it is delicious” and "our reputation relies heavily on our food. Talk to your friends about Kotecki’s… odds are you will hear about the food!“ Well the odds are not in your favor Koteckis and service was awful and the staff was miserable.
Kate the manager (I use that term loosely) was rude to the guests and the bridal party. The bar was closed early, she lacks the ability to maintain the superior service the website boasts. Terrible customer service and no service recovery to complaints. This attitude clearly is reflected in the responses to previous replies to complaints on google where they accepted no responsibility for their obvious problems.
It's a travesty to pay for what should be the most beautiful day for a bride and to have it overshadowed by poor service. 20 years ago this place was known for its meticulous attention to details and making the day perfect by being professional and going above and behind to accommodate the bridal party as well as their guests. I would never intrust these people with any event ever!!

Kimberly,
Thanks for leaving a review on The Knot. We really appreciate the feedback on multiple platforms. I apologize that your experience here did not meet your expectations. Reading your review, I must applaud you for conducting a little re...
search to the extent of quoting my words directly.
To address just a few of your claims: coffee and coffee cups were available at the Deluxe Coffee Station, which was made available for the entire evening, per the bride’s request; there were hors d’oeuvre plates and cocktail napkins on the charcuterie table for the duration that it was out and napkins were available with each server that was passing out hors d’oeuvres. While we always encourage our staff to maintain positive attitudes and smiles on their faces, this can be made difficult at times when guests are being difficult to work with.
As I just stated in response to another review for this same event, there were numerous unexpected extracurricular activities going on throughout the night that required more attention than normal, and each occurrence was handled accordingly. Pertaining to the bar closing early, without going too much into detail, there were numerous factors that played into the bar being closed 25 minutes prior to the event’s end.
If you would like to chat further about your experience or if you would like to make any recommendations on how we could improve our services in the future, please reach out to me via telephone at 716-674-2287 or via email at john@koteckis.com.

John & Kate were the BEST to work with! After not being happy with my original venue I was able to switch everything over to Kotecki's with no issues! They let me come in and set up a couple days before the wedding which was so awesome! I am so glad I went with them, everyone raved over the venue, food, drinks and the music! Honestly, nothing went wrong! John even made us a plate of the hand passed hors d'oeuvres so we were able to enjoy them while greeting people. The pork wontons were sooooo good!! All the staff were beyond professional and took care of all our needs. I have not heard one complaint! 10/10 - I will definitely recommend Kotecki's to everyone!
From the moment I met Kate and John I felt so comfortable around them and I knew they would help to make my wedding vision come to life. They were receptive to all our ideas, always responded in a timely manner, and gave very helpful advice every step of the way. The food was incredible, our DJ kept everyone dancing the entire night, it was everything we hoped for and more. I would highly recommend Kotecki’s Grandview Grove.
Kotecki’s Grandview Grove is the hidden gem of West Seneca. My husband and I looked at over ten venues before stumbling across this one. After just one visit, we knew our wedding reception had to be here.
When you walk in the main entrance, you are immediately greeted by a grand staircase and elegant chandeliers. We chose the Cecilia Room to host our guests, which is the larger of the two ballrooms. This room permitted us access to the Courtyard, which, due to nice weather, we were able to take full advantage of. It backs up to Cazenovia Creek which gave our photographer some beautiful photo opportunities. The foyer, just off of the banquet room, offered our guests private bathrooms and my wedding party a bridal suite. The ballroom itself was spacious, professionally lit and well cared for. You can tell that the owners truly care for this property just by looking at the aesthetics.
John and Kate were so much fun to work with. They were extremely patient and helpful from start to finish. I could email either one at almost any time and get a response back within the hour. They were respectful of our colors and theme, offered advice when it seemed fit and made it their personal goal to keep us happy. In one instance, John was up and emailing me at 2am – the night before my wedding day! There is a video screen welcoming guests just outside the foyer. John suggested sending him photos so that he could create a short slideshow and personalize the screen. He happily accepted the 25 photos I sent him on such short notice. Kate, on the other hand, allowed me to come into the venue (three times!) before my wedding day to set up the décor. Being able to see it dressed the way I wanted provided me the utmost comfort and ease.
We heard nothing but good things from our guests about the food. I can say first-hand that the dinner course was delicious. We selected Filet Mignon and Chicken Marsala as the dual entrée and both were cooked to perfection. The staff was courteous and friendly – serving the whole room quickly and with a smile.
We opted to use the in-house DJ for our wedding reception and we couldn’t have imagined it any other way. DJ Jammin’ James was a pleasure to work with. He met us at Tim Hortons prior to our wedding day to discuss our wants and needs. We hit him with a wall of requests, all of which he agreed to. My husband and I wanted our entrance song to be “Bad Boys” with a police siren introduction. Even more challenging, my dad wanted to dance to “My Little Girl” with an immediate transition into the “Cupid Shuffle”. James was texting me options to be sure he got the mixes exactly how we wanted it. On the day of our event, James was prompt and professional, queuing us when it was time for entrances, first dances, etc. Every single song we requested (over 20!) was played throughout the night. The songs James chose to fill our empty song slots were right on par with our taste and kept the dance floor packed all night long.
Thank you to the entire Kotecki’s staff for making our wedding reception a blast and a night we will never forget!
To the staff at Kotecki's: you are truly the BEST in the business & Brett and I could not have picked a better venue! A special thanks to Kate & John! You 2 are truly amazing and I knew our wedding day would be perfect from the minute we signed the contract.
Everything was made so easy and simple with all of your help along the way. I never had to worry or panic as I knew you 2 had everything under control at all times.
When we walked into the room the day of our wedding I had to take a step back and look around as I was blown away! Such a beautiful set up with everything I imagined exactly. Not to mention the video displaying our photos in the foyer which everyone loved and the private bridal lounge :) also, the food was fantastic and all of our guests said it was some of the best wedding food ever! Thank you thank you thank you for making our day a fairytale!
We were set to book our reception at Kotecki's. Sadly, after Kate, the event planner, refused to take a call with us or meet with us (slept through our venue visits and sent her fiance John, the marketing manager), she sent an unprofessional email refusing our business.
If you book with Kotecki's: READ YOUR CONTRACT THOROUGHLY.
It allows them to hire a security firm at your expense whenever they want. If you ask for a ballpark cost, they don't know. It says you're responsible for all damage/injury during your event. They'll verbally tell you this means you're only responsible if you/your guests cause it, but they won't write this. They verbally promise to lock in prices, but the contract says the price can rise indefinitely until 90 days before the event.
When John brought our concerns to Kate, they were shut down. She emailed us an updated contract that addressed only one concern.
We responded nicely, asking for a phone call to clear up the apparent confusion.
Her response:
"Please accept this in the sincerest way, but after discussing it with John, my father and our attorney, I honestly believe it is in both of our interests that we proceed no further in negotiating. I can tell you that we have been in business for nearly 30 years and have never had any issues like the issues we are having with you. From our point of view, if we are having this much difficulty just merely going over the contract, we can only assume how difficult the actual planning of the wedding may be. We believe that this would result in far too much stress for any of our behalves, and the ultimate goal for producing flawless weddings is to work in a stress-free environment. For that reason, we feel that we do not meet your needs as a venue as a result wish you and [your fiance] the best of luck in finding a venue that will accommodate your concerns and needs."
Hopefully our experience saves at least one couple from going through the trouble we did. Best of luck venue-searching, all!
Unbelievably amazed by the care and kindness from Kotecki's. My husband and I were married in November and it was the most beautiful time. Kotecki's really did an amazing job and surprised me by how helpful they were unlike other places we had looked. Kate and John were able to make ALL of my special requests happen! Our families are still raving about what a great time they had and how amazing the food was! We are so happy we chose them and would recommend them over and over again!
If you are looking for venues in the Buffalo area and you have not looked at Kotecki's yet, do yourself a favor and go! First off, the site was recently totally renovated and it shows. You walk into this huge foyer with a breathtaking staircase and chandeliers--total wow first impression. Everything is clean, fresh, glamorous, and elegant (and that bridal lounge, come on! Such a nice touch).
The wedding coordinator is Kate, and fiance John helps her run the show. She is warm and welcoming and takes her time to make sure you understand every option that is available to you. It's a family business, and you are treated like such. She always gives you her honest opinion and sometimes a four year old peeks his head in your meetings, it's part of the charm. Everyone is beyond accommodating. Kate will answer any (even silly) questions kindly and promptly and John is the type of guy who will rush over to help if he sees your mom carrying a heavy box in. They are a business, but they never forget the business they are in--your special day.
The night ran so smoothly (or if it didn't, Kate didn't show it!). She periodically checks in with you to make sure you're OK and on such an overwhelming and crazy night, that little bit of reassurance means everything.
If all of this isn't enough to convince you to take a look at this place, then consider THE FOOD. Oh my gosh. There is a reason this place has been in business for so long. It is literally the best wedding food I've ever had. So many of my guests agreed. The passed appetizers were a hit, the late night snacks were so fun, and the dinner was just perfect--everything on that plate was good.
Five stars for this place!
Our daughter and new son-in-law's wedding reception was August 13, 2016 in the Natalie Room at Kotecki's. It was the BEST. As I told Kate later that night : BEYOND PERFECT! Throughout our whole planning process, from day one until wedding day, Kate & John have been gracious, helpful, fun to work with and knowledgeable. Kate was anticipating our every need all evening, yet was unobtrusive to our party. The food, staff, and venue were all amazing. We used the fixed bridal table not only as the sweetheart table, with bride & groom in the center, but as a centerpiece and focal point for the room: the large cupcake tier on one end, homemade cookies on the other end, interspersed with church floral arrangements, unity candle and pictures of the bride & groom. Because the table is raised, all had a perfect view of the couple and the cake cutting. The photographs we will have from the gorgeous lobby will be priceless. We had guests aged 15 to 92 and all had an enjoyable time. As one guest said, this was the best wedding she'd ever been to. Yes it was: BEYOND PERFECT! Thank you Kate, John and all Kotecki's staff!
I 'll start with the positives. The venue is beautiful and for the price it's a pretty good deal I thought. Kate was patient in explaining all the details since I was planning the wedding from out of state. She sent me pictures of various things I wasn't sure off and answered all my questions. Carol the wedding coordinator was awesome. The food was pretty good as well. Closer to the event it was more and more difficult to get a hold of Kate. Some relatively major issues came up last minute such as the cake table which we were told would be placed in the center of the dance floor was actually instead placed in the corner on the side so our backs would face the guests. The day before the wedding Kate emailed me saying she would no longer open the venue at 3 pm as we discussed and instead would open the venue at 4:30pm. You can imagine how panicked I was given the photographer and various other vendors were scheduled to arrive at 3pm. She said she didn't realize I wanted to come in earlier that am to decorate which was communicated earlier in the week. We agreed that I would come at 9 and quickly decorate and leave and only then would she open up the venue again at 3pm, she told me this on the wedding day when I was there at 9 to decorate. I had spoken with John earlier in the week who had agreed to put the bride and groom table in the middle of the crowd but instead we were placed at the head table again not as we planned or wanted. Kate decided to veto John and instead of calling us ahead of time and making sure the change was ok with us she went ahead and did as she wanted. I saw this on the day of the wedding when I came to the venue to decorate and didn't really feel like getting into an argument with her. Overall I'd say I was pleased with how the venue looked but wasn't happy at all with the service we received on the day of our wedding and the stress we went through.
They really did a nice job with coordinating things. Norma Jean was awesome! I didn't like the grounds though. Some of the bushes were practically dead and there were very little colorful flowers!
the food here was awesome and the service was awesome. the only complaint i have was we had to use their dj and he was horrible!!
