At first, I was very reluctant to write this review. I was very excited to support a black woman-owned business, and I admired Kori's tenacious personality. In the initial meeting...
s leading up to the day of my wedding, she seemed experienced and confident. The day before the wedding she ran the rehersal at the venue and was very rude to my bridal party, specifically the groomsmen. She kept raising her voice and snapping at them like they where children. We had asked her to make sure that our first look was private yet all of the groomsmen and family where there and Kori was nowhere to be found. Next, mere moments before the ceremony was supposed to start, Kori came into the bridal suite saying that there was some sort of disturbance and that we needed the string quartet to stay longer. Turns out a large water-filled vase got knocked over, and it needed to be cleaned up. Guests later told me that Kori and the staff were running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to clean up the mess. I don't understand how the wedding coordinator couldn't fix a simple thing like this. I later was slapped with an $800 fee for keeping the sting quartet late. Next, I expressly told Kori that we DID NOT want the recipient of the garter toss and the bouquet toss to do one of those weird rituals where the man puts the garder on the lady. We where to have the bouquet toss and the garder toss and end it at that. You can guess what happens next, a weird ritual. I was humiliated and Kori was clueless. Fast forward to the cake cutting, I had an outfit change and went back to the bridal suite to change a few minutes before the cake cutting, to see guests, family members, and others in the bridal suite. Kori has said to us 100 times before the wedding that she would make sure that after the ceremony that she would make sure that only the bride and groom could be back there. As I'm changing into my second dress, Kori comes running in yet gain looking panicked asking, "WHERE IS THE CAKE?". The cake was delivered at 9 am, and it was now well past 9 pm, and Kori was just now realizing that she had forgotten about the cake. Finally, she found the cake and to my dismay, put a sparkler on top instead of the custom made cake topper that I had given her. 11 pm comes, and we are all outside during the sparkler handoff when she comes up to me and says "it's 11pm, I'm leaving. I put everything in the bridal suite and took a picture of it" then she disappears into the night. A few minutes later, I walk into the bridal suite to see only a few items on the table. Kori had told us that she would box everything up including leftovers and drive it over to our hotel. She bragged before hand that, "My couples love me for doing so because they don't get to eat during the wedding". Well, she didn't deliver on that either, she just did a poor job and then split. I had to go around the venue and gather all of my decorations, all while still in my wedding dress. Not the right way to end the night, a lot of my items were lost, including my $400 bouquet that I was going to get preserved and cherish forever.
After all of this Kori had the audacity to post pictures of us on her websites and social media channels as well as ask me later to write a review on my experience, well here it is. It's a shame that these bad memories will be forever tied to my wedding, don't get me wrong, we had a beautiful wedding, but it was no thanks to Kori Robinson.
