There are not enough words to describe the skill, professionalism, and passion that Katie exhibits as a wedding photographer. Even though we live in Southern California, we were very impressed with her work and contacted her to see if she would... be willing to make the trip from Northern California to capture our wedding day. Communicating with Katie was always so easy, both via email and phone – she clearly knows what she is doing and has a million ideas, but she also listened to what we wanted and responded to our ideas as well. She asked us to make a list of “must have shots” and captured every single moment that we wanted. Her pictures are nothing short of exquisite. Everyone who has seen them has commented on the fact that we clearly hired a “really good” photographer.
Katie’s ability to capture our day so beautifully was particularly impressive because it was not an easy day to capture. It rained in the middle of July, which was completely unexpected and created endless issues – our first look, our ceremony, everything was planned for the outdoors. We took our pictures before the wedding at the mission in San Juan Capistrano, and everything was behind schedule because people in Southern California are morons whenever the roads are wet. Katie found the perfect spot to take all of our pictures – a covered hallway – and she seamlessly led our wet and stressed out group of family and friends from one picture to the next with the skill of a consummate expert. She had a groomsman help to cover her equipment with an umbrella, and she stood in the rain for an hour and a half taking our pictures. My husband and I were pretty disappointed because we weren’t able to take the pictures where we wanted to, but the disappointment immediately faded when Katie sent our “sneak peek” pictures the day after the wedding. The photos are seriously breathtaking. They are above and beyond what I had hoped for. She captured not only the beauty of our fancy dresses and the breathtaking mission; she also captured small details, like the tears in my mom’s eyes and the luscious gardens that surrounded every shot.
Because the rain put everything behind schedule, we all arrived at the wedding venue much later than we had intended. Katie arrived about 10 minutes before the ceremony. Still, she managed to capture the sign in table and the welcome decorations before the ceremony began. She was wet and must have been exhausted, but she didn’t show it for a second. She captured the ceremony beautifully, and she was there for the action for the rest of the night – she took incredible photos of the speeches and of the dance floor, and by the looks of it, she took a shot of nearly every guest who attended our wedding.
Katie’s ability to keep her cool under pressure and to take incredibly beautiful pictures impressed us so much. And the shots are truly artistic. My favorites include the close up of my husband’s face as I walked down the aisle, his eyes filled with tears; the photos of niece, the flower girl, leaning against my dress and staring at the camera while I put my fingers through her hair (I had no idea Katie was taking a picture), and the photos of the best man’s speech, which was hilarious – she managed to capture the crowd’s response to his jokes, and the happiness in the room is tangible.
Hire Katie. Now. You won’t be disappointed,
