Going into our wedding, our number one priority was the dancefloor. We are two people that love busting a move, and knew our guests would want to be out having fun with us. As such, our biggest goal was finding a DJ that would set the tone for the night we wanted. Jay was the first vendor we hired based off glowing reviews, and boy did he deliver! First, he was AMAZING to communicate with prior to the day and wanted to really understand what was important to us as a couple. His preparation really showed as it felt like the music he played and the vibe he created was specifically for us. Our dance floor was packed the entire time, and everyone was having a blast. If you need a DJ, you would be remiss not to hire Jay. He is amazing. I truly don't have the right words to communicate how grateful we are we found Jay for our wedding! The BEST decision we made.

Jay is the MAN! He is thorough and really brings the party! I found Jay off of a recommendation from a co-worker. Jay made sure the day went seamless, from the ceremony to the reception. WE LOVE DJ JAY! My Husband, our families, and I are sill in shock how perfect the music, and sound system at our wedding was. First, the planning process with Jay was incredible. Picking out music and making sure the party keeps going can be an intimidating part of the wedding process and Jay took off any pressure Alex and I felt during the planning process. Jay takes the time to get to know you and your vision for the Wedding. Next, the day of the wedding our dreams came true. Jay ensured that every guest at the wedding could hear the ceremony. The music throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception was amazing. We were able to dance the night away with our loved ones and this could not of happened without JAY! He had the amazing idea of doing a 15 minute dance party after our first dance before dinner and it set to the tone for night! It was five minutes into the wedding reception and we already had over 100 people dancing!! A great bonus of the night was the photo booth Jay provided! We now have 100's of photos of everyone having a great time in a photo album they all signed. Thank you for helping these memories live forever. Jay is amazing!! Don’t even hesitate about hiring him, just do it. Jay was fun and friendly from the first consult forward. He worked with us leading up to our wedding to help customize our music for our ceremony. He accommodated our special requests and expertly made the music match our vibe. When we went to our sister-in-law's wedding and Jay was the DJ, we knew immediately that he was also OUR DJ. Jay LaBella is not your run-of-the-mill wedding DJ. (You know exactly the kind of DJ I'm talking about.) Jay is one part wedding expert, one part music artist, one part event emcee, one part your next best friend, and one part lighting expert. That combination makes for one of the most seamless and memorable weddings you - and your guests - will ever attend. In fact, we trusted Jay's expertise so much that we had him choose all four of our wedding processional songs. It's true. And because he had already taken the time to get to know us so well, they were the PERFECT choices. There are endless stressors that go into planning and creating the perfect wedding day. Sam And I knew from the second we got off our first discovery call with Jay that he was our guy. Jay from day one helped us make a process that most think to be chaotic, SO MUCH easier. He started the party early during our rehearsal in getting everybody laughing during our practice of the ceremony. Between his technology in using the mobile app to plan all our songs, and the conversations and questions Jay goes out of his way to have in order to make sure he understands exactly what we wanted for our special day. Not to mention the absolute best lighting and sound setup in the business… Jay goes above and beyond and there are not words to describe what a awesome human he is. The team made our day so incredibly special, and even with some last minute (literally) changes to have one of my best friends throw flowers and white claws, he made it happen without question. All the music and the dance floor was full of smiles and happiness from the second we started. I could write a book of how happy we are with Jay, we love him and and hope others can experience the greatness of his work as we did on our big day.

Jay is, in the words of the indomitable Tina Turner, "simply the best!" From our first phone call with him, we knew he was our DJ: He is funny, organized, incredibly skilled at what he does and a consummate professional. What other DJ do you know what goes to yearly conferences to keep his skills sharp? From setting us up with an app where we could add songs easily for every part of our event, to making custom edits to our first dance/family dances, to making sure every moment of our wedding was note perfect - Jay absolutely smashed it. Hiring Jay was one of the best decisions we've made!! We interviewed a handful of recommended DJs for our wedding and they all had the same cookie cutter vibe - after we talked with Jay it was a breath of fresh air - done deal. He took the time to explain why he was different from other companies, how is process works and expanded on his vision and ideas to make our wedding say something special. When chatting with our wedding coordinator about what we were looking for in a DJ, she immediately told us we needed to check out La Bella and The Beat. From the moment we met Jay, we knew it was going to be a perfect fit. He is so energetic and friendly and truly wants to create the perfect vibe through music for your wedding. His planning app is so useful and easy to use and definitely helps to curate some great music selections for the entire event. Jay brought a few of our more specific (and slightly crazy) ideas to life in the most fun way, including our wedding entrance to John Cena’s “The Time is Now” and an epic 10-minute Abba Fest to kick off dancing. Jay is the absolute best, I really don't know how else to start this. Not only does he provide the most personalized and perfect soundtrack for your day, but he creates an atmosphere that fills your space with music, joy, dance, laughter, memories, and FUN. I knew he was going to be our DJ in our first conversation, as he was so personable, and I could tell he really understood my request and love for music. He understood the vision of the whole wedding and the feel that we wanted for each and every part of our night from cocktail hour up until the songs he played as our guests were exiting. We also had people of all ages at our wedding and he was sure to play tunes that everyone not only could dance to but could not stop themselves from dancing to! He exceeded our expectations, and provided an above and beyond dance party - I could not step away or get pulled away from that dance floor. We would all get so pumped as one song transitioned to the next, because we could not wait to see what it was. There aren't enough words to express our gratitude and appreciation for Jay. Prior to the big day, he went above and beyond answering questions and advising us on how best to 'create flow' based on our vision. On the big day, I heard jam after JAM mixed and blended into the next - there was literally no lull in the absolute BANGERS he chose based on our rough guidelines. All generations and dance-levels were on the floor and enjoying themselves.

Working with Jay was a dream! One bit of advice I have for all couples starting out on the planning process is to seek vendors that have an easy and streamlined package/quote/payment process. This cuts down on headaches and a billion emails back and forth. Jay set a great standard here- his whole process was streamlined, friendly, and personalized. From thoughtful and easy to understand packages, to a cool app to help pick music out, to t-minus 1 month meeting that truly helped us take a *beat* and get excited (instead of just stressed) — we were so happy to have Jay on our team. On our actual wedding weekend, Jay’s calm professionalism and quiet hilarity was legendary. I felt like we were old friends throwing a party together, but clearly only Jay was extremely good at throwing parties and knew how to take my blabbering about speech timing and turn it into a thoughtful structure for our reception. Your DJ does so much more than just hit play, and I’m embarrassed to say I didn’t realize this until way further into the process than I should have. So, Jay was excellent for all the OTHER things a DJ does, and still totally delivered on the dance floor. We literally felt transported to “da club”; Jay is clearly passionate about his craft and puts the work in to be exceptional. Also the photo booth is so legit, please get the photo booth. If you take one thing away from this review, know that Jay will make you look awesome, feel great, and dance hard. He’s not gonna steal the mic and make your wedding his latest standup gig (even though I’m certain he would also crush that).

Wow! Where do I begin?! We had the pleasure of working with Jay from La Bella and the Beat for our wedding, and it was perfect! I can not recommend Jay enough, he took his time helping me make song choices, he was very professional and brought the best kind of energy to our wedding the whole night. Our guests had SO much fun dancing thanks to Jay! He was so responsive throughout our planning process and offered great advice. He executed our ceremony and edited all of our important songs to perfection. He kept the flow of our timeline on track and managed to get all of our guests on the dance floor. Jay also provided our uplighting and photobooth. Our guests had SO much fun using the photobooth and he even designed a special logo for our photo strips. Jay is a truer DJ and was a dream to work with for our big day!

When we got engaged, we knew we had to have Jay be there - we have been to multiple events where he was the DJ, and every single one he brought so much energy and really knew how to get the crowd moving! It was no question that he had to be our DJ. We had an almost two year engagement, and from booking, to planning, to site visits, to executing the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, Jay was so responsive, professional, and had an excitement for our wedding that was truly genuine! He listened to every silly request I made (like our "family tradition" Celine Dion tribute, haha!) he answered all of our questions, he was a great team player with my other vendors, he was a total dream to work with! We booked Jay for our wedding ceremony/reception and he did an amazing job! Even with his busy schedule, Jay made time to have planning calls with us leading up to our wedding day and even came to our ceremony rehearsal, which was a huge help making things run smoothly the following day!! When our wedding weekend rolled around, he went above and beyond by being there for our rehearsal to make sure all the music cues were right and by editing our mother/son and father/daughter songs for length. He loves music and understands how to keep people dancing and having a good time. I didn’t leave the dance floor for longer than 10 minutes total once it opened up! I honestly cannot say enough good things about Jay. If you can book him, absolutely book him. Maybe the best money spent on the entire wedding. Let me start with the most important point: The music at our wedding was BOMB. It's been weeks, and guests are still texting me and telling me how great the music was. AND a lot of our friends are in the music industry. So the pressure was on. Jay perfectly blended the mix of classic hits that everybody will rock to (opening the dance floor with "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" was a genius call), but then he also incorporated a lot of music based on our taste, our ages (we were teens when Missy Elliot reigned supreme), and the information that we gave him during our planning. The transitions were amazing, and the dance floor was packed literally the entire time. BUT it wasn't just the music. When plans shifted during the pandemic, Jay was a nimble and comforting professional who advised on how we could use sound in a remote ceremony location, how we could use lighting to make our Plan B just as spectacular as our original plans, and he orchestrated the speeches and toasts during dinner perfectly. Booking Jay means getting an amazing DJ *and* a wedding ninja who can pivot on a dime and handle anything that may come up during planning or on the day itself. Just book him. Trust me -- I had to plan my wedding three times because of COVID. Literally could not have done it without Jay.

Jay aka La Bella and the Beat is THE BEST. Look no further, he is the DJ you want to hire!! There were several instances in the middle of our wedding dance party where our friends came up to us and said “The DJ is amazing, I can’t stop dancing!” The mother of the bride even missed eating our wedding cake because she was too busy dancing. When we started planning our wedding, as a couple we agreed that finding the perfect DJ was top of our “to-do” list. We wanted to find the best DJ in New England, one that understood the vibe of the wedding we were aiming for. We had attended many weddings in the past and felt that the DJ choice can either make or break a wedding. We set off to find a band or DJ who had three qualities: (1) Ability to corral people, make announcements, etc. (2) Ability to read a room, get people moving and play good music to our taste and (3) Responsible and communicative vendor. Often times you'll get a DJ who plays a great set, but they're awful at speaking and making announcements. Other times it's the opposite. Jay combines the best of both. We had calls with around 5 DJs before speaking with Jay. After our call with Jay, we hung up and immediately knew he was who we were going to hire and would check all the boxes we were looking for. We could tell from the first call how passionate Jay is about his work as a DJ, and about the couples he works with. Working with Jay was the best decision ever!! He went way above and beyond what we were even looking for. Throughout the wedding planning process Jay was amazing. We exchanged tons of phone calls emails and texts and every time it felt like we were talking to a friend. He gave us so many good pointers about song selections, how to structure the reception and speeches etc. he had amazing lighting options, a playlist phone app, and we even opted to use his photo booth which was a huge hit with our guests. Our reception was perfect, Jay really knows how to read a room and capture the attention of all guests. From the bridal party introduction, to the first dances and the speeches Jay effortlessly made sure everyone was fully engaged with what was happening at everyone moment of the reception. Once the dance party kicked off, the dance floor was packed the entire time. I did not see anyone sitting down, he really hit the nail on the head with everything we were looking for. Jay was awesome to work with! Very professional and thorough. He has a very down to earth personality and makes you feel like you’ve known him forever which is great if you’ve never planned a wedding before! He kept in touch and was always a text or email away. Jay is simply the best. You are in SUCH Good hands with him. In reference to his dj work you just can’t do better. He made custom edits for my intros which were amazing. The dance music was fire, there was always people on the dance floor for the whole wedding. The photo booth was a massive hit and everyone loved the photos. But the biggest thing about jay is that he TRULY cares about his clients. He was helping me troubleshoot several problems with other vendors that he has no responsibility to help with. When my make up artist was in the hospital two days before my wedding with a septic infection jay had numbers and contacts for me in less than an hour trying to find a replacement. When I was having issues with my coordinator he listened and helped me figure out problems. Jay is simply the best. You just can’t do better.

Jay and his assistant were absolutely amazing! They helped me through all my fears and worries, helped me plan exactly where things were going to go, helped things run smoothly and made sure everyone was enjoying themselves(they had us laughing the whole time)! We could not have asked for a better vendor or person in general to be there for our wedding day! They made it all happen for us (even the impossible).

Between date changes, COVID restrictions and me just being a nut case stress of a bride, Jay was AMAZING. He was the perfect DJ- professional, but personable, flexible but knew his stuff, funny but not cheesy. He listened to exactly what me and my husband wanted and man, did he deliver!! Working with Jay was an amazing experience from start to finish, and he played an invaluable part in making our wedding as memorable as it was. We booked with Jay for our September 2020 wedding far before COVID. He was excellent from the start - he took his time talking with us to make sure he understood my husband and me, our families, and the kind of wedding we were envisioning. Right off the bat, he was dedicated to making our day perfect and made us feel confident that he had everything 100% under control. Once COVID hit, Jay was on top of communication with us and our venue. Amid various changes in plans, he was not only extremely knowledgeable about health and safety guidelines but incredibly positive and supportive. He never missed a beat. Despite our disorganization from planning a wedding from afar, he nailed every single moment. The reception was everything we could have hoped for and more. The music was fantastic; every guest had a fantastic night ( and felt safe while doing so). Our friends and family are still raving about the music and continue to comment that it was one of the best weddings they have attended. Jay is not only the best at what he does but incredibly professional and all-around a great person to work with. We could not be happier to have had him be a part of our day!

Working with Jay was an absolute breeze! He made the planning process so easy when I was clueless. His price point is amazing for what he provides. He was always readily available if I had questions and was super flexible. He knows how to read a crowd and kept us dancing until the end of the night. HIGHLY recommend him!

Jay was awesome! He is very kind and will do what needs to be done to make your day fantastic. Being a Covid Bride, there were lots of ups and downs during the planning process. Jay was there to help me plan my backyard wedding, created a timeline , and walked me through what the process looked like. Who needs an event planner?! My husband is Puerto Rican and I am European- Jay stepped up to the challenge playing a mix of both of our styles. Everyone was very happy and I would 10/10 recommend Jay!

Jay was our DJ for our wedding and truly made the night absolutely perfect. We met with a couple other DJs(an instant NO) before we met Jay and felt a HUGE relief that we finally found somebody normal and legit. It was as if we had known Jay for years, he was so easy to talk to and down to earth. He made the planning process simple and easy. Our wedding was perfect and we would recommend Jay over and over again.

BEST DJ EVER. I cannot even being to put into words how amazing it was to work with Jay and La Bella and The Beat. From our initial phone call, 10PM on the Friday before Christmas, Jay answered all of our questions +some we hadn’t even thought of yet! He sent surveys and questionaries, really trying to get a sense of who me and my husband are as a couple, and what we envisioned our wedding to be. Jay met myself and our wedding team at the event space a couple weeks before the wedding and really laid everything out for us. We had family members play a few songs as we walked down the aisle and Jay was able to provide them with all the equipment they needed to play their pieces beautifully. My husband and I are from two different worlds, culture and music wise, me being from the US and my husbands family being from Turkey. Jay did an AMAZING job bringing in fun Turkish music into our night and keeping our 300+ guests dancing all night long. His tastes for music is impeccable and really caters to all generations, the dance floor was absolutely PACKED. I could write about Jay forever, but I suggest just booking him for your big day to experience his magic yourself! Thank you Jay for such an amazing night that we will truly never forget. P.S. We did not have a videographer and Jay surprised my husband and I on our 1st year anniversary with an audio recording of our ceremony and vows. I cried. What DJ does this? JAY DOES!

Our wedding day would not have been the same without Jay! He made our day absolutely beautiful, listened to my needs/wants and didn’t question anything. All of my song selections were perfect and timing couldn’t have been better! From booking him back in March, he was very on top of every and very communicative with us! The ceremony was beautiful and I attribute at least 1/4 of that to Jay and his timing with the music! And the reception was exactly the party that we wanted, the music never stopped (he didn’t even eat, because he was too focused on playing music!). I had multiple people ask for his info for upcoming events! Definitely the DJ to hire if you’re looking to have the best day ever!
