I could probably write 5,000 words about how great our experience was with La Bella and the Beat, but I'll try (and probably fail) to be brief. Jay La Bella has many qualities - all of them great, as far as I can tell - but most importantly: he... is affable, he is flexible, and he is reliable. First and foremost, Jay is just a really nice guy. We knew we'd made the right choice immediately based on his personality alone. Turns out, he's even more professional than he is personable, which is a feat in and of itself. Jay worked seamlessly and effectively with all the major players in our wedding: planner, caterer, photographer, our parents, the maid of honor and best man, and (most importantly) the bride and groom. He had everything expertly planned out exactly the way we wanted it. Jay was basically the quarterback of our wedding, and when the weather forced him to call a heck of a lot of audibles, he genuinely welcomed the challenge. We started way late, moved stuff all around the venue, changed the itinerary half a dozen times AFTER the wedding had started ... Jay just rolls with all of it. A wedding is basically "controlled chaos"; Jay is the guy you can count on to keep that crazy train firmly on the tracks. I found myself asking him questions he had no business knowing the answers to, just because I couldn't find anybody else to ask, and he always had those answers. It was almost uncanny. Jay is more than a pro; he's a natural. Full disclosure: I'm not related to Jay La Bella in any way, nor do I have any relationship with him outside of our wedding. I'm not even trying to do him a favor. He's just that good. You'd be amazed at how many things can go wrong behind the scenes of a wedding, so don't even allow for the possibility that your DJ situation will be one of them. It's too important. If you haven't hired a an emcee/DJ yet, stop shopping around and just call La Bella and the Beat. You have no idea how glad you will be that you did.
