I had a tour scheduled for over 2 weeks out from the schedule date. Showed up and they were hosting an event, no problem but it would have been nice to know or they could have called to reschedule because it was most likely a last minute event. Come to find out they wouldn't have called because they didn't even remember I was coming. I talked to the only employee I could find at the venue, and she vaguely recognized my name. The woman who was supposed to do our tour wasn't even there. She gave me a call and said she forgot to put me on her calendar, then said she'd be there in 12 minutes or so, never showed up. The woman I talked to prior then gave us the shortest and least in depth tour I've ever had. Lasted barely 15 minutes. I get that she was probably busy with the event going on but I still felt very slighted. It was the most unprofessional experience I've had doing tours for a venue. Not only that, but the room we were touring, the "show room" has a massive column right in the middle of where the bride would walk down the aisle. Just seemed like really bad planning for the room, you can't even see the stage for the column you'd have to awkwardly walk around
I have nothing but great things to say about this venue and their staff. From start to finish I was able to get all my questions answered down to the details. The owner, Jake, was super involved in the process and made me feel very comfortable all the way to the end. The amazing food was also a great plus to everything. Would recommend this venue to any bride in the Bowling Green area!
Gia at LaGala was fantastic. I was able to get into the venue a few days before the wedding and take care of everything. The process was easy and he was quite helpful. Loved that we were able to get married right downtown, which is where we had our first date and where we were engaged!
Beautiful venue! I was able to have my ceremony on one half and the reception already set up on the other. Gia did a great job being available for any question I had and made the place look exactly how I imagined.
By the time my event actually happened I was very confident in the management of this venue. When I booked this venue there was different management- communication was minimal and they were not responsive. However, about 3 months before my big day new management took over, and completely turned the place upside down for the better! My reception was a success, and absolutely beautiful. For the price, you get the venue for multiple days to set up, the tables, linens, dinnerware, and clean up. An additional cost is the servers. That do recommend that you get servers through the catering (Brickyard) for $150 a piece. Management was also helpful in figuring out catering (which has to be done through the owners of the venue), and any extra rentals we needed. Gia the coordinator was so helpful, and I felt as if he truly cared about me and my big day. Totally would have given 5 stars if Gia had been the event coordinator the entire time I had been working with La Gala, but we did have some issues with previous management, but all of those issues HAVE been resolved, and Gia is going to make sure your event is the one you have been dreaming about for years.
I was fortunate to book La Gala very early after their opening. We used them for the wedding and rehearsal dinner. The venue is beautiful if you like the more modern/industrial look, and the space provides a blank canvas to execute a complimentary theme. While I was planning they underwent extensive staffing changes (as new businesses do after a time) but they never let it affect my event, and they became more communicative and organized in the process. Owner, Jake, seems to take great pride in making sure your event turns out just like you want. He remains as aware of your budget as you should to avoid unexpected expenses. I appreciated his very honest approach--he always warned me when I asked for anything that might cost more. If you use Brickyard to cater (who I also highly recommend) they include a great deal in the base 'room fee', which was very appreciated, and maintained transparency throughout the planning process as we tweaked menus and changed details as to what would come with additional cost and what might not (he made some magic happen when he could). New (at the time of my wedding in January 2015) event coordinator, Jordan, was incredibly accessible and generous with her time and patience. While not a complete DIY wedding I had several 'non-professionals'(talented and generous family, friends, and co-workers) helping decorate, set up, and clean-up. She was very willing to work with all of them, answering their phone calls and questions (by-passing the already anxious bride) and working with their desired schedules for the days of my rentals. To top it off, Jake generously hosted a fundraising event for the non-profit I work for--at a major discount. I am happy to recommend the beautiful venue, delicious and professional catering from Brickyard, and the generous and kind people working at La Gala.
I think that La Gala is a beautiful venue, but was less than impressed with the owner, Jake. Janet, the event coordinator there is amazing and is so accommodating. The owner, however, had promised me that the construction in the ceremony room would be finished prior to our wedding, but he had changed his mind on the use of the room mid-construction and was mad when I expected him to cover the unfinished ceiling and insulation! I had also gotten a deal for booking from a wedding expo and received linens, dishes and silverware in my price, but then he kept throwing it up in my face with an attitude like he was already giving me a deal, so what more could I ask from him. So the place is nice, but it's still a work in progress and he just really made things stressful the days before the wedding. Oh yea, and the plumbing went crazy the night of the wedding and the bathrooms started overflowing. I'm sure they have it together now, just not how I pictured things going.
