La Posada is the most beautiful wedding venue in Santa Fe! Our fall wedding was an absolute dream thanks to the professional, accommodating and organized staff! The service was spectacular and the grounds are absolutely stunning!
Stunning resort right on the Santa Fe Plaza!! The food and drinks were delicious and Lyric was amazing to work with, she has an answer and a solution for everything!!! She made our day so special!!! Thank you so much to her and everyone at La Posada for a dream come true!!!
I'm so happy we decided to get married at La Posada de Santa Fe. The setting was so gorgeous, the food was great, and they had the perfect function spaces for all our needs and events. Plus, it was so much fun to be able to have everyone staying on-site, and it allowed us to spend so much extra time with our guests. While Lyric was not yet working at La Posada at the time of my wedding, she has been assisting us with all the post-wedding follow up and she is extremely responsive and reliable - I have no doubt that she would have been great to work with during the planning process too. I'd recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful New Mexico wedding location!
Lyric and her team at La Posada went above and beyond to ensure my wedding way was absolutely flawless. We are so thankful for her and we have no idea what we would have done without her help! If you want to have a Santa Fe wedding, there is no better venue than La Posada!!
The BEST venue in Santa Fe, hands down! The grounds are gorgeous, the food was spectacular, and wedding suite is an absolute DREAM! The staff was knowledgeable, accommodating, and incredibly kind! Thank you for everything!
Christy and her team at La Posada were so great in helping to make our wedding vision come to life. Christy was always quick to respond and key to ensuring that everything prior to and on our wedding day went smoothly. La Posada has the picture-perfect Santa Fe ambiance that we were searching for, and the food was incredible. We had so many wedding guests comment on how great the food was and how beautiful the reception was. We would definitely recommend La Posada and Christy and her amazing team to anyone looking for the perfect wedding venue in downtown Santa Fe!
Amanda is the absolute best wedding coordinator in Santa Fe. She is very attentive to detail and makes sure her couple is taken care of. She hand picked our suites for our wedding party to get ready in and they were so beautiful. We got so many compliments on the food. It was so delicious! The rooms are absolutely beautiful and our guest enjoyed staying in them. The whole venue is absolutely gorgeous! Book your wedding here!
La Posada was the perfect setting for a wedding in beautiful Santa Fe. The hotel has such lovely New Mexico style, charm and history-we could not have been more pleased that we chose that venue. The flow of the space from the patio ceremony spot, to the lawn and cocktail area and into the ballroom worked perfectly for our event. Amanda and the entire experienced event staff were phenomenal. They were extremely organized and helpful when we had questions or special requests. The buffet dinner we served was plentiful and delicious. When a brief mountain shower started during the buffet serving the staff miraculously appeared with umbrellas to shield the guests from the sprinkles as they went through the line! The experience of the event staff was constantly on display. It was very helpful that all of our vendors were quite familiar with La Posada and vice versa. The courtesy car that is offered to hotel guests for travel in the vicinity was a really nice feature for our guests.
Amanda and La Posada were truly exceptional. My wedding weekend went off without a hitch including a welcome reception, the wedding reception itself, and a brunch. The venue is spectacular and Amanda makes sure that every detail is executed perfectly. Amanda was patient and communicated well for the entire year from signing the contract to the wedding day. She made sure that our bridal suite was stocked with champagne and snacks and allowed me to focus on what mattered on my wedding day. I would recommend using the preferred vendors (I had Absolute Entertainment for music, Marisa Millefiori for flowers, Blue Rose for Photography, and Chocolate Maven for cake) as Amanda knows them well and communicates with them to ensure that the details are perfect. The grounds were immaculate, the staff were professional, and I really can't come up with one complaint. I would recommend La Posada to any couple looking for a beautiful venue in he heart of Santa Fe.
My husband and I had our Welcome Dinner here and it was an absolute dream. We did the large clear tent out on the lawn by the restaurant and it was perfection. Seriously felt like a fairy tale and all of the guests loved it. We had a seated dinner for 120 guests and it was executed with perfection. They had plenty of staff and they were all so professional and timely on the food, not to mention it was delicious! I work at a venue in the Houston area so I was very particular about A LOT and Amanda was so helpful and kind the whole way through. She was patient with my MANY MANY e-mails and requests and was always so supportive of my ideas and vision. She was nothing but helpful and accommodating and offered great suggestions and options. She has a super calming personality and is very likable and easy to work with. She is such a hard worker and will walk with you through the process to make your vision come to life. Whether you are having a welcome dinner, rehearsal dinner, wedding, private dinner, engagement, birthday, etc. this place is perfect and beautiful in every way and you will absolutely love working with Amanda!!
La Posada is AMAZING and Amanda really knows how to make you feel like the one and only bride she is working with!
La Posada is so unique and beautiful no matter what time of year. Your friends and family get their own little home away from home (or in their words, a casita) while they celebrate your wedding. The food is excellent, the service is outstanding and the event will be like no other! If your looking for something different and special, look no further!!
As a wedding planner, working with Amanda and her team at La Posada is a complete dream! She cares so much for her clients and the work that she does. She is organized, attentive, and so much fun! She went above and beyond to help pull of the wedding of our client's dreams.
Amanda and La Posada were great in helping to ensure our wedding reception went smoothly. Amanda was very responsive throughout the entire planning process and provided great tidbits about how to keep the costs within budget. The day itself was almost flawless-- La Posada was a wonderful venue, as there is a lot of space for guests to congregate both inside and outside. Amanda was willing to set up our decorations better than I would have done it myself. When there was a small moment of miscommunication during the event, Amanda jumped on it immediately to resolve the situation without our guests noticing. Our bridal suite was wonderful and Amanda made sure it was stocked with champagne and snacks for the weekend. All of the food at the event was delicious and worth the price. La Posada was also so accommodating to our out of town guests and it was also so nice to have our out of town guests be able to stay at the venue. Overall, La Posada was a wonderful spot for a reception and we highly recommend it!
Amanda Gesten is hands down the best hotel wedding coordinator in the world! She made my day so amazing, and she was super responsive through the entire wedding process. She made sure that everything went perfectly the day of and she has such a calm presence. I could not have asked for a better coordinator to plan my wedding with. La Posada is such a beautiful venue, all the natural greenery made it so pretty. Also, everything flows so nicely with the ceremony/cocktail/reception being right next to each other! You won't regret choosing La Posada for your wedding :)
La Posada was an absolutely gorgeous venue for our reception! The also handled catering and the food was DELICIOUS!
This is really hard for me to do, but I have reviewed everyone else.
My experience with LaPosada:
-Initially, loved everything about it! We were so excited "to have a wedding coordinators services as part of our contract"
-Wedding coordinator leaves three months or so after signing.
-Have to try and plan with 3 temps while they find a replacement.
-We had a wedding block for our guests. Somehow my guests were being told that there were no longer rooms available, while I was being told there were.
-Finally they got wonderful Amanda to fill the wedding coordinators shoes, 3 months or so prior to our wedding. However, they changed the job description and I was never really clear on that. She tried so very hard to make our day just perfect and she was so pleasant to work with.
-Our wedding suite, that was originally promised to us by the wedding coordinator, was sold to one of our guests. We figured out a solution to the room situation, we reserved a private courtyard with all of our family in the surrounding rooms. Perfect for our farewell brunch.
-Go to check in to the hotel rooms before our welcome reception, they pulled my assigned room and gave it to some random couple. We all had to move to another area, where we subjected random guests to our wedding festivities.
-We had to wait for additional sheets and pillows for our pullout bed until the security guard was free to get them to us. The security guard was definitely overworked but so super sweet!
-Breakfast the next day took 2 hours to get? My makeup person had to wait for me outside my room.
-They only set up one of the two bars we requested for the reception, amongst other things.
-They were really late on getting dinner out. We had given them a count, had a specific time for dinner, we were even running late. It still took 2 hours for us to get our meal and eat. We had an hour and a half to do all of our special events and dance before the night was over.
-My bridal party table never got served food. They sat there while everyone else ate, finally they had to ask someone. One of our ring bearers didn't get to eat because he had to go to bed.
-The food was absolutely AMAZING! The steaks were cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. That was the saving grace to the food debacle. Our guests can't stop raving.
-They cleared our tables completely before the evening was even done. Everyone was unable to save everything they wanted. Name cards, favors, thank you cards, pictures for and from the guest book, etc. were all thrown away. We won't ever get those back.
-They had two Valet people for a hotel on a Friday night and a wedding reception of 220, when the only option is Valet.
-The honeymoon suit was never cleaned, even though requested at the beginning of the day. I stayed in there the night before with my ladies and also got ready in there for the wedding. As newlyweds we walked into the remnants of that and slept in dirty sheets.
-We were credited 4 nights stay to make up for EVERYTHING.
-We had to wait a month for an itemized receipt.
-They even added service charges on terrace lights (they charged us for) even though they are up year round (and you don't get to take them home).
-All in all... if I went through all of that for just for the backdrop to my pictures, it was totally worth it in every way. Just gorgeous!!
If only all departments would actually communicate with each other and they hired more people, it would have been great!
After my two sister were married in Santa Fe, I was eager to follow suit. They were both married at La Fonda so I decided to mix it up and pick La Posada in part to work with David Stone, who is a fabulous and organized catering manager. Probably the most amazing one on this planet. However, he left mid-wedding planning and we dealt with some MAJOR disorganization, frustrations, and multiple hours long phone calls with the replacements that went no where. The general manager was receptive and kind but it created a lot of extra stress for us. We decided to hire our own wedding planner at that point because it was hard to manage all of this from Dallas.
However, the month of our wedding, the permanent person, Amanda, was instated. Amanda is eager, works hard, and deeply cares. She was a great support for me, my parents. When situations arose, she took care of them. She was thoughtful and I think will continue the excellence of La Posada.
Okay now for the good stuff:
My husband and I picked La Posada because we wanted a romantic, garden party wedding. We loved the courtyards, the terrace, and the ability to have all our guests so close to the square. We had 155 people in attendance, did the ceremony on the Viga Patio, the cocktail hour on the terrace, the dinner on the lawn with a twinkle-light tent, and dancing in the ballroom. The flow was FABULOUS. I had tons of people comment how unique and smooth the arrangement was. Our honeymoon suite was the Baca and it was the most amazing getting ready space for me and my bridesmaids. The atmosphere was perfect--- everything we wanted and more.
Also, the food and drink was UNREAL. We did agua frescas for the ceremony, Prickly Pear Margaritas, and the short ribs +salmon off the turquoise menu.
The wedding was magical-- If I had to do it over, I would do it the same despite the struggle dealing with the interim catering managers.
La Posada is an absolutely beautiful place and the staff are universally some of the most helpful and generous individuals we have ever encountered. Under normal circumstances I would probably give the hotel a 5++ rating.
Quickly, here are some details about our wedding:
1. We had about 125 people in attendance.
2. We didn't have a tent and had the ceremony/cocktail hour outside. Then we had dinner and dancing inside the ballroom.
3. We hired a DJ and Mariachi's
4. We are locals from Santa Fe.
5. We did the Turquoise Package for food--Chile and Cilantro Salmon and Beef Fajitas. The food was great! And the kitchen was very accommodating
to our veggie and gluten free friends.
6. We purchased Sangria--red and white. 5 gallons each. It was so good we needed more!
7. We had pies, and La Posada let us keep them in their fridge before and after the reception. They helped us wrap them as well.
8. We stayed in room 101--FABULOUS room to get ready in and to take photos in. The light is lovely.
9. We booked a string of rooms around a courtyard (I think 146-149). We had our rehearsal dinner here. Since we booked the rooms La Posada let us bring in our own food and alcohol for this event. For $125 they set up tables for us. It was AMAZING and easy.
10. The pool is so so fun.
11. The valet services helped us pack up the day after! SUPER helpful.
However, during my engagement David Stone, the head of catering, quit to take another job. This is where things were dicey and why I am giving the hotel four stars. We were getting married in June and we didn't hear anything from the hotel from about mid-March to end of May, when I contacted them. Then we dealt with a string of horrible experiences because of the turnover and temporary staff. (Since that person is no longer with the hotel I will not go into details.)
The woman who took over our wedding about two weeks before was named Marilyn. She was on her game, extremely helpful and professional. However, I think she is only temporary as well.
Until the hotel hires a full-time coordinator I would consider waiting on this venue since that person is so essential to the big day.
But again, the day-of was perfect--and if Marilyn is going to be your coordinator--I would recommend La Posada without hesitation! She really did a lot in a short amount of time to make our day perfect.
We had our wedding here in December. David Stone and his team could have not been any better than they were! We had less than 4 months to plan everything, the team at La Posada (especially David) made things so easy, fun and beautiful!
There were a couple hick ups with room blocks the weekend of however, it was quickly resolved. With 11o people all staying at the same resort it all felt like we had the place to ourselves and the staff to ourselves.
I would recommend having your event there. The service, venue and people could have not been better.
Like the last reviewer, we worked with David Stone and had never visited the location till the event. David was wonderful in helping us get everything we needed as well as making great suggestions for the venue. The result was wonderful and was exactly what we wanted. The location on the law was beautiful and we didn't need the ballroom but did the event outside and dancing in an area off the ballroom. Fantastic and could not recommend La Posada, David and his team highly enough.
We were planning our wedding from out of state living in Oklahoma, We worked with David Stone who was awesome and handled every concern or question we had setting our minds at ease. We had our ceremony outside on the lawn and our reception inside the ballroom. The hotel is gorgeous and the grounds are immaculate and beautifully landscaped, we didn't need a lot of decorations because it was so beautiful. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue, everything was absolutely perfect and ran seamlessly and our guests had a blast! The prices per person per guest were also very reasonable compared to other venues in the area. If you're on a tight budget or not they will more than work with you to make your day super special!
I am so glad that I chose La Posada as my reception venue. Throughout the process, David Stone was so patient with our questions and changing minds! I explained my vision and he matched every detail beyond what I could have imagined. The setup was absolutely beautiful and the food blew my mind. We didn't have a chance to do a tasting first, as we reside in Texas, but I was so pleased with our meals. I'm still hearing compliments about it!
I also have to commend not only David, but the entire La Posada staff. Our wedding ended up on a very snowy weekend, and as a result, we had several last minute guest cancellations. David made the seating arrangements and numbers work and kept me stress-free the day of the wedding! Most of our guests were snowed in the next day, and I couldn't have asked for a better place for us all to be stuck at!
If you are getting married in Santa Fe, and you DONT call David Stone at La Posada you are making the biggest mistake of your life.
He is Golden. The location was beautiful, and everything was perfect. And I am a perfectionist.
La Posada de Santa Fe Resort and Spa was spectacular. It is beautiful year round and provides an intimate and gorgeous venue for a wedding.
It rarely rains in Santa Fe but we got rain, snow, and very cold temperatures on our big day, fortunately, the weather did not impact our festivities because David Stone, the wedding coordinator at La Posada, is fantastic! He saved the day and will go above and beyond to make your special day amazing (and save you money by not having to hire a wedding planner).
We could not be more happy with our experience and the quality we received at La Posada!
We had our ceremony and reception at La Posada. The event coordinator, David Stone, is unsurpassed. He not only was extremely accommodating to us (despite the fact that we had a small wedding), he completely understood the vision I had in my head of the ceremony and reception. The staff who executed the details were also incredible. They were always on-point.
I also wanted to say in this review - my husband and I didn't even have this location in mind originally. When we visited another location and told them what we had in mind for our wedding, they suggested we check out La Posada. We walked onto the property to just look and they called David up to talk to us. David, who was there preparing for another wedding - not only sat down and went over numbers, he also took the time to show us around the property and throw ideas out. Because of this unbelievable attention, we trusted him from the start and we feel so thankful that we decided on La Posada! The whole experience there was wonderful. We highly recommend this vendor!
Overall, it was perfect. It is however expensive, but worth it. Came out to a bit more than we had planned though.
We had our daughter's wedding at La Posada and the entire staff could not have been more accommodating. They went above and beyond to make our event perfect. David Stone is especially a dream to work with. The whole experience exceeded our expectations.
La Posada was perfect for our small, destination wedding. Neither my fiance or I had ever been to Santa Fe when we chose to have our small wedding at La Posada. We had a wonderful ceremony on the central lawn area in front of a gazebo. The hotel grounds are amazing and had lots of great areas for wedding photos. The reception was also on site, in the beautiful Viga Room - very Santa Fe looking. We had about 30 people for the wedding and reception, so the size of the room was perfect. The food was amazing, although did suffer a little bit from being served buffet style, but I guess that is to be expected.
The cost for the reception and ceremony was very reasonable, but with an April date we were also not at peak wedding season for Santa Fe. Hotel room costs were on the high side for what I would normally pay, but the rooms were very nice and it was worth it to stay at the same place we were getting married.
David at La Posada was very easy to work with, and between him and our wedding coordinator, I did not have to worry about a thing on the day of the wedding. Everything went off without a hitch. Overall a fantastic and memorable location for a wedding.
Working with David Stone was a complete pleasure. Our wedding was awesome and we couldn't have done it without him. Not only did we get great pictures because of the beautiful venue, but everyone had a wonderful time because of all of the hard work that David and his staff put into our event. I can't say enough wonderful things about Mr. Stone or La Posada. Our wedding was perfect.
This venue is absolutely breath taking and amazing! If you want someone to help with wedding planning, David Stone is the person to meet with! We were completely taken care of and were treated as if we were spending millions! I absolutely recommend using this incredible resort as your wedding venue!
