My wife and I, our families and guests all had an amazing time on our special day - wouldn't be possible without all the hard works, attention to details of everyone at Lafayette club. Brenda Rogers, Matthew, and all staff members were very professional and making it perfect place in every way for us to celebrate our wonderful moments.
Sincerely thank you from our hearts, the event wouldn't have been such a success without your help. We would highly recommend Lafayette Club - great great place.
My wedding at the Lafayette Club was absolutely spectacular. The food was amazing, and Brenda and her staff were responsive and easy to work with. Our guests raved about our wedding, calling it a hall-of-fame wedding!
Nicole at Lafayette Club was professional, organized, and so helpful throughout the entire planning process. We felt completely at ease knowing that she was there to oversee everything and the setting itself is so beautiful. We would absolutely recommend Nicole and her team at Lafayette Club to anyone.
SUCH a stunning venue, with so much space to accommodate our large wedding. The room rental price is extremely fair, and we got tons of comments how good the food was (we only did chicken). Initially I was concerned about only getting 3 photo spaces - but that was no big deal.
My only negative review was that although the on site contact person was very responsive to all email, since I didn't hire her as my "day of coordinator" I felt she answered my questions, but did not want to help further. She was slightly rude to my mom, and the mother of the groom, and never even said a "hello" to my husband or I the whole reception. I wouldn't change a thing about my wedding, I was just disappointed with some of the lack of communication.
Amazing food and excellent service! Brenda was extremely responsive and accommodating as we had to adjust our wedding plans due to COVID. The chef was also very accommodating of dietary restrictions (I am gluten and dairy free) and we received compliments on the food from all of our guests. The scenery is also stunning on the lake and in the fall beautiful colors on the trees. We would highly recommend for any event, large or small.
The most beautiful wedding reception venue hands down! We just had our wedding here in September and Brenda and her staff were amazing! With all the changes due to Covid, Lafayette was extremely flexible and easy to work with. We even schedule a second wedding reception for 2021 when we can have a bigger group at Lafayette! We would HIGHLY recommend Lafayette Club to any couple in search of a wedding venue!
The Lafayette Club was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Brenda was extremely responsive every single time and always responded kindly and with enthusiasm. They were so accommodating with everything we needed. The staff day-of was so attentive to our needs, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. I’d absolutely recommend.
The Lafayette Club is a beautiful, elegant venue for a wedding. We were pleased with the helpfulness and responsiveness of the catering director who guided our way in the planning stages. We were impressed with the friendly and accommodating staff who served at the reception. The food was excellent and our entire experience was very positive.
Lafayette Club is an absolutely stunning venue where we had both our ceremony and reception. We were deciding between Lafayette and another country club in the area but after hearing rave reviews from previous brides & grooms, seeing the lake view and meeting with their primary coordinator, Brenda, we immediately picked Lafayette. Brenda is a COMPLETE rockstar who is every bride's dream to work with - she responds to all forms of communication in a timely manner (99% same-day), she is extremely thorough, provides excellent recommendations and keeps things calm. She was a complete saint to work with.
The club recently went through some renovations and is so much more updated/gorgeous. If you're interested in this venue, make sure you look at photos from 2019!! Anything older will not do this venue justice.
The food was fantastic - the meat and cheese display IS A MUST! We also appreciated all of the passed beverages so our bar never had a line. For dinner we served the chicken and walleye - we received many compliments on both!
Hands down 5 stars - if you're considering Lafayette Club you must take a tour and meet with Brenda!
I am the father of the bride and the primary planner of our event. The Lafayette Club was simply spectacular for our entire event. From the staffing , to the food, to the service, to the spectacular venue, you will be amazed. Many guests have commented things like "Best wedding I've seen" or "The food was awesome!"
We used all 17 of the available hotel rooms on site, and the guests loved that convenience as well.
If you have your wedding here, you will be glad you did!
We held our lake-themed wedding at the Lafayette club and loved it. Brenda was responsive, easy to work with, and extremely helpful for a bride and groom planning their wedding from overseas. The venue was a great way to experience Lake Minnetonka and get a taste of Minnesota - particularly for out of town guests. Loved the food (walleye!), and it was so convenient to stay right on site. High recommend the Lafayette Club!
What an incredible experience!! Not only is Lafayette Club BEAUTIFUL, but they are great to work with through the entire planning process. Brenda was amazing to work with! She always responded immediately with any questions we had and she is very knowledgeable about the wedding industry. I only have great things to say about Lafayette Club! The service was amazing and the food was delicious! We are SO happy we had our wedding at Lafayette. Highly recommend!
We absolutely loved our outdoor wedding ceremony and indoor reception at Lafayette Club. They recently redid the painting and carpets inside and they look great. I had no issues the day of and Brenda was quick to get back to me with any questions I had throughout the planning process. If I had to do it all over again I would pick Lafayette Club again!
Lafayette has very blunt favoritism towards certain couples. We were members and were told we weren’t allowed on most areas of the property for photos, but on their own Instagram they post photos of couples down by the lake? Many have posted about free honeymoon suites the night of their wedding, nothing for us (even when we inquired). We asked if our dog could be there to walk down the aisle with us or for a few photos and received a firm no from Brenda, however on 9/29 they allowed a dog on site for the wedding. In addition, for a venue that hosts that many weddings, you would think they would have floor length linens, but essentially require you to use their “preferred vendor” linen effects (who was great, but added another $1,000 to the budget!). Lafayette didn’t know until the week of our wedding what time the linens could be delivered, forcing us to pay an additional after hours delivery charge that wasn’t even needed in the end.
The venue itself is beautiful and has recently been updated. The day of the staff was nothing but accommodating and made for a gorgeous wedding. The food was phenomenal and we received many compliments. It was the wishy washy rules and logistical issues that made planning quite frustrating and put a bad taste in our mouths. For such a grand and opulent venue you would think they’d be a bit more inclusive and accommodating to guests that spend tens of thousands at their establishment in addition to monthly dues.
We loved having our ceremony and reception at the Lafayette Club! We worked with Nicole leading up to the event, and she was so accommodating and responsive to all of our needs! Our day turned out perfectly, and everything looked beautiful at the venue. We would highly recommend the Lafayette Club for your upcoming event!
Brenda Rogers was a dream in every way. From her 25+ years experience in this industry, to her deep knowledge of logistics for the perfect day, Brenda was amazing. We loved having our ceremony and reception at the Lafayette Club. Also, Brenda's recommendations for vendors were amazing and we used all vendors from her lists. Lastly, the staff at the club was amazing and we had the wedding of our lives! Thank you Brenda!
We chose to hold our ceremony and brunch reception at the Lafayette Club for several reasons. First, the location. The grounds and view of the lake are gorgeous, even in November. The Crystal Ballroom was absolutely stunning for our ceremony with its tall, dramatic ceilings and impressive chandeliers. The space is large enough to fit a lot of people and be flexible with a variety of seating arrangements. The Lakeview Room was also a light, intimate space for our guests to enjoy brunch. The tables and chairs were set up ahead of time and the staff were so professional and friendly. We also did not need to “flip” any rooms in order to transition from ceremony, cocktail hour or brunch (which was a big deal for us in choosing a venue). There are two get-ready spaces that were included in booking our wedding there, including a fantastic bridal suite that was absolutely perfect for everyone to get ready the day of. It was – by far – the best get-ready space we had seen in any venue we toured! Unfortunately, the Governors’ Room (where my husband got ready in) left much to be desired when compared to the bridal suite. Several members of our wedding party enjoyed staying in one of the several hotel rooms available at the venue the night before. The rooms are clean, quaint, adorable, and provided a ton of useful toiletries and space. We loved being able to stay at the Club! We also really appreciated being able to have a morning wedding at the Lafayette Club, as many other venues only do afternoon or evening events. We were impressed by how responsive Brenda (the Catering Director’s) was with her emails. You can get a response from her so quickly! However, we found that we needed to be very clear, direct, repetitive and sometimes assertive to ensure that our requests were met. Our experience was that the Lafayette Club manages and provides suggestions that reflect a more “traditional” wedding format. If you are looking to plan an “out of the box” wedding, communicating with the Lafayette Club is certainly doable but may be challenging. Despite that, our event was amazing! Our guests loved our brunch (the waffle bar was a hit), the drinks were well worth the money (loaded Bloody Marys!), and the staff were very flexible with ensuring our vision was carried out.
Working with the Lafayette was very easy. The staff on the day of was so friendly and kind, the venue was very beautiful, and the food was great.
There were two issues that we had.
1. The food at the tasting was slightly different than the food at the wedding. Instead of a chicken breast, we were served a piece of chicken with a bone in it. This wasn't a big deal, people loved the food anyways.
2. It was not communicated to me, the bride, that the bridal suite I got ready in was not reserved until midnight. As I was leaving for the ceremony offsite I was asked to have my stuff moved out. As a result, I had to have a day-of-coordinator move my things, and I lost a letter from my husband which was a bummer. It was an unneeded stressor. It may have been communicated to my mom or dad who didn't tell me.
All things said, they were great to work with, the facilities were beautiful, and we had a great time.
There really couldn't be a more beautiful setting than the Lafayette Club. We looked at several venues around the Twin Cities, and even my very skeptical 85-year-old dad said, "I can't think of any place that would be better for a wedding reception!" Many guests said the food was the best they've ever had at a wedding. The staff was just wonderful - friendly, helpful, and fun. My daughter and her new husband love coffee, so when she asked for some after dinner, they brought out 6 pots to the head table ! :) We rented lounge furniture for the deck and it ended up being a huge hit - people lounged, took in the lake view, smoked cigars and played a beanbag game that we brought. There were urns with flowers and a fire pit that they lit for us. The Lakeview Room was gorgeous for cocktail hour. The minute I entered, I was given a glass of wine and several times I was offered appetizers on trays. The guests were well cared-for. We had a photo booth set up in a corner, small tables for guests to sit down at, high tops, and a talented friend played on their baby grand piano for cocktail music. My advice would be to try as many entrees and appetizers as possible at your tasting - it's not cheap, but you really need to narrow it down. (Our tasting was about $350 for 3 people.) Also, I wish we had been members when we initially booked, because we were not able to get any of their advertised hotel rooms for our guests. Brenda did give us one lovely suite at the last minute when I asked, and it was a Godsend on the wedding day. I highly recommend booking rooms for your guests if you can get them! Another member had booked them for the whole weekend and we couldn't wait to see if she needed them all, so we had to put our guests at other area hotels. If we had all stayed there, as members, we could have all stayed overnight had brunch the next morning. Oh well! Other than that, it was a perfect day! It just went by way too fast. Brenda was very efficient and helpful throughout the whole process. Her quote was so accurate that we ended up getting a credit back of about $500 - and we applied it to a membership at the club, so now we can keep coming back over and over again. We always stop in the Ballroom before we leave and reminisce about that perfect day in July. People are still exclaiming about how magical and wonderful it was. Wish we could relive it all over!
Brenda and the entire staff at Lafayette are true pros when it comes to throwing a wedding. Every "T" was crossed and "I" dotted. Brenda is so responsive and made me feel like I was the only bride she was working with... when I know that wasn't true! The Club took care of us and made us feel special!
Our reception was perfect! Brenda at the Lafayette was fantastic to work with - so knowledgeable and had great suggestions. The ballroom is so beautiful and our guests have complimented the venue and the location on Lake Minnetonka so much. The food, the view, the facilities, the planning - everything was wonderful.
Lafayette Club is absolutely stunning! This was a dream, fairytale reception venue, with fantastic service to top it all off. Lafayette also did something that was the highlight of my day: we got to Lafayette a little early before the Grand March, and we were just waiting in the car, because I was too tired/dehydrated/hungry to talk to people. I asked my sister to bring me some food and water - anything at all - and out came three Lafayette servers with plates of appetizers! That was seriously the most amazing thing of the day and probably saved me from fainting (or worse) during the reception. The spring rolls were the bomb! I think I swallowed them whole. Brenda was also incredibly accommodating with a few last-minute seating changes we had a few days before the wedding. Highly recommend having your wedding here!
On the other hand, there were also some issues.
1) Comfortability- We never truly felt like we were 100% cared for there. We were not members, but had a sponsorship and just felt like we were looked down upon a little... Especially when we wanted to save a little money by setting up some of the tables ourselves and were told that usually people paid to have others do that etc...
2) Customer Service- They raved about how they have excellent food service standards and that's why we need to pay for so many servers (more than other places we looked at) the night of the wedding. Yet even after clarifying the special requests for a few individual people (including for my dad) and following all of their guidelines, they still gave him the wrong entree. They apologized and fixed it, but still, why did we do all that if it didn't matter in the end. And for the cake, we went with one of their preferred vendors that they apparently work with all the time. They neglected to us that the portion size that they serve is ALWAYS the size of a deck of cards. This would be fine except that this is NOT the standard cake slice size for this company. We gave an exact count to the cake company and LITERALLY took home our ENTIRE three tier cake because they only needed the backup sheet cakes. What a waste of money! You would think that if they work with them all the time, maybe they could have told us about the difference. We ended up having to take it home with us the next morning otherwise they said they would give the leftovers to the staff! Two more points: we heard later that not everyone was even offered cake after dinner, and when they were passing it around they asked "chocolate or vanilla?" which weren't even the flavors.
3) Liquor service- One issue that was really alarming had to do with our bartender service. We paid extra to have a premium keg to offer our guests for free. At around 10pm my brother-in-law informed me that he was asked to pay for his keg beer drink. He told them it was supposed to be free and then they gave it to him. My husband and I then went around telling people to drink more beer in order for it not to go to waste. After asking others post-wedding, they also told us that the bar was not giving it for free and they either paid for it or didn’t drink because of that. After explaining this to Brenda, the sites event coordinator, we were told that couldn’t have happened. Our guests must have been mistaken/lying because there weren’t any tickets sold for beer! I think there must have been a sneaky/uninformed bartender working who cheated the system and maybe made some extra money at our guests’ expense! This issue was never fully resolved- we just gave in because we were sick of arguing about it.
4) Lastly, we were able to stay in the suite the night of the wedding which was “the best room in the house.” It was fine, but it was outdated and extremely (and un-adjustably) warm. Perhaps not what comes to mind for the perfect wedding night retreat… I wouldn’t have wanted to see what the other rooms there were like.
This place was beautiful and elegant, but I would say the service was lacking a little grace. If you don't mind working around some of those issues, then you could really enjoy this venue.
The Lafayette Club was absolutely amazing! We originally were booked at bayview and when we heard bayview got bought out Lafayette Club scooped us up effortlessly! The staff was amazing! Brenda was wonderful to work with, she made planning from out of state easy. The day of our wedding was beautiful! From our hotel room, to the lake view room, to the ballroom the staff, the food, the drink, the service, and rooms were perfect!!!! I couldn't have imagined our wedding any where else! Thank you Lafayette Club. Wish we could relive our weekend with you !
After our initial venue unexpectedly canceled, Lafayette Club quickly stepped up and created the perfect day for us! Brenda was amazing to work with and responded quickly to any of our questions and also offered suggestions that made our day even better. The food was incredible and the service was excellent and flawless. We had our reception in the Crystal Ballroom and it was a gorgeous backdrop for our day. We heard nothing but wonderful things from our guests and we couldn't be happier with how our day turned out. We would highly recommend this venue for any couple looking for a hassle-free, beautiful wedding!
The Lafayette Club was the perfect venue for my daughter's wedding 10/15/2016. Brenda Rogers, Catering Director, was great to work with, accessible, and, most importantly, provided a list of quality vendors that worked well with them in the past. She also provided excellent advice that led to a more efficient and effective coordination of the reception. The entree's of filet mignon and walleye filets served to 230 people were received at the same time and correct temperature. Received very positive feedback from wedding guests.
My experience was amazing at the Lafayette Club! I loved everything about our experience! The outdoor ceremony option and the bridal suite was unbelievable!
I can’t say enough about the fantastic experience we had working with Lafayette Club. From the very beginning, they worked closely with us to create exactly what we wanted – an intimate affair for 18. While it's tempting to think of the Lafayette Club as only an option for much larger parties, I’d strongly recommend those doing smaller weddings to consider them as well. Their event planning is top notch (regardless of wedding size) and the staff took excellent care of us. They truly went above and beyond. Many, many thanks to Lafayette for making our special day all we wished for and more!
Beautiful room sadly a horrible choice to have a wedding if you are not a member. Non members are treated like the club is doing you "a big favor" by even
letting you walk in their building. I noticed the last review was long ago.... currently the individuals who are employeed there to work with the clients who are hosting an event are rude and arrogant. They make no effort to accommodate you... you are the paying guest who must accomodate them by following ALL THE RULES- this is not allowed, that is not allowed etc etc
you can't walk there, you can't have that- it was ridiculous.
Very disappointing to be treated that way and have your big day ruined. No one should ever be treated with that tone of arrogance.
There are other beautiful venues which are better choices-
Lafayette Club was the PERFECT venue for our wedding on July 17! We had an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception for a guest count of 220. What we loved about Lafayette is that everything was taken care of in one place. The ladies got ready in the beautiful new bridal suite, the guys hung out and dressed in the Governor's Room, we had a beautiful outdoor ceremony with the lake as the background, a fun cocktail hour, and a fabulous reception in the ballroom with the gorgeous chandeliers. Food and drinks were amazing - and all was handled on-site, which saved hassle with dealing with an outside caterer and ensured the food was quality, well-made and served at the appropriate temperature. Almost all of our guests have commented that our buffet was the best dinner they've ever had at a wedding. Lafayette was also great to accommodate gluten-intolerant and vegetation diet needs. Finally, the staff at Lafayette was the best part. Brenda, the event planner, had marvelous communication with me for any question or need I had leading up to the day. And, come wedding day, every member of the staff was attentive, helpful and friendly - especially when I got gum stuck on my dress! Truly a top-notch experience that was totally worth every penny! Definitely put our wedding day over the top!
My husband and I recently had our reception at the Lafayette Club and I can't even put into words how beautiful the club was. It has natural beauty to it, we didn't have to spend hundreds of dollars to make the place look elegant. The venue is simple stunning and was everything we were looking for. And the food… was beyond delicious! All of our guests kept saying how much they enjoyed the food. We did cupcakes instead of a cake and we got to pick the three flavors we wanted. We went with a chocolate/peanut butter cupcake and they were the first ones to disappear! They also have hotel rooms on the top floor which are also very well taken care of and the prefect way to end the wedding night. I highly recommend the Lafayette Club to anyone looking for an amazing and beautiful place to celebrate their wedding night!
We had our reception at Lafayette and it was amazing perfection. Lafayette is a beautiful place, inside and out.
Brenda is the Wedding Coordinator at Lafayette and working with her was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable, and kind, and made everything so easy for us with her expertise. She guided us through all the areas we needed to look at, she made everything so easy. We couldn't have imagined a better experience than we had with Brenda, she was amazing.
The food was incredible. It was the best we have ever had at a wedding. Guest after guest raved how it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. It is unheard of to have a good meal at a wedding, but Lafayette made it happen. We had requested that no garlic or onion be added to our food. Lafayette makes all their food from scratch so this was possible. The flavors of the foods were amazing.
Andrew is the Service Manager and he did a great job, and so did his staff. Our entire night was without a single glitch, I wasn't aware of anything, but my mom told me this. The staff worked so hard, they did a great job, and they were so kind and helpful to all of our guests.
A staff takes its lead from its leader and it was clear that Brenda and Andrew have done a great job of leading their team, and staff.
Lafayette will make your wedding reception a magical night.
Everyone in the Twin Cities knows that the Lafayette Club on Lake Minnetonka is an incredibly beautiful venue, yet after hosting my daughters wedding and reception this past Sunday afternoon at the Lafayette, I am eager to share with others that this is beyond being simply a beautiful venue. The staff at the Lafayette is exceptional and makes the venue what it is. Brenda helped us plan an incredible event at a price that fit our budget.
My daughter's afternoon wedding in the Lakeview Room flowed seamlessly into the reception in the Ballroom. (No need for guests to move from one venue to another on a cold winter day, which they appreciated!) Again, the staff made the event. Andrew, our Maitre d, was incredible along with the rest of the staff. Their attention to detail, their professionalism and helpfulness along with their ability to "be there but not be there" during the entire event was remarkable to me. Everything flowed beautifully and the food was, in the words of the groom, "Best wedding food by far, hands down! It was incredible!" We all agreed it was spectacular.
If you are looking for exceptional service, food that can't be beat, a warm and professional staff that will handle every detail so you can enjoy your special day, I can't imagine any place in our area that beats the warm elegance of The Lafayette Club. I can not speak highly enough about every aspect of our experience!
We decided to have our reception at the Lafayette because of the beautiful facility, location and awesome food. We booked the Lafayette club 1 1/2 years before our wedding date. The Event Director was very responsive to inquiries and questions during this time. Everything was good to go the Wednesday before our wedding. We knew the Event Director would not be there the day of and were told the Catering Director is in charge. Unfortunately, when we got there they could not get the guests seated for the grand march. Next, it took 45+ minutes in between salads and entrees. Also, they ran out of walleye. We counted the number of people who ordered walleye and confirmed with the Club several times. The food was good when it finally came out. Next, I asked the Catering Director to turn down the lights twice because they were going to do the slide show. The second time she told me, "I need to speak nicer to her because she is working her butt off for us." Keep in mind this was in front of my entire wedding party and reserved tables in the front. I have heard from 10 of our guests that she was extremely rude. Two guests told me she slammed their plates down on the table in front of them. Next, we were told they would provide a full bar. We hosted beer and wine but had a cash bar. Come to find out they only had rail liquor and were charging $9.00 per drink. This would be fine if it wasn't rail liquor. Also, the bartender told a guest that the bride and groom only paid for rail liquor. I was appalled. Lastly, you get a complimentary room at the Lafayette Club so we stayed there and were shown our room 6 months prior to the event. The room was beautiful with a view of Crystal Bay. Then two days before the wedding we were told our room changed. A member requested our room so we were moved to a different room. I would not recommend the Lafayette Club to anyone. On the most important day of our lives we were treated horribly! Terrible service!
Wow! We cannot say enough nice things about our experience working with all of the staff at the Lafayette Club! My husband and I got married on August 30, 2014, and I was definitely a bride who liked to keep in contact with the staff, arrange several in person meetings, and work on every detail. Brenda was by far the most amazing person to work with to help coordinate everything, give advice based on previous weddings, and help with vendor referrals.
My parents developed a ritual of visiting the Lafayette Club any Saturday they had free to look at reception set ups, get ideas, and develop a relationship with the staff. I think what made our night at the club so picture perfect was the amazing staff, and especially our evening coordinator Andrew. He was INCREDIBLE! Really made us feel so comfortable and welcomed, catered to my husband, myself and my parents, and helped us with anything that came up. They were really there for us every step of the way and it helped us really enjoy our night, relax, and celebrate with our family and friends.
I really hope that we are at a wedding again at the Lafayette Club sometime in the future, because they are truly the most perfect venue and staff we have ever seen.
Thank you so so much Brenda, Nicole and Andrew for such amazing memories! If we could do it over again and again, we absolutely would!
We just recently had our wedding reception here. Everyone who works there was extremely professional, accommodating, welcoming, etc. Their event planning team is extremely organized and work with all of your vendors to make sure everything goes smoothly. Their event staff is great as well! We worked with Andrew the night of the event and he was GREAT. We have nothing but good things to say about this venue! Gorgeous views, rooms, etc. too!
The Lafayette Club is an amazing venue. The club is beautiful inside and out - with the view of Lake Minnetonka. Impeccable service. Quality delicious food with a beautiful presentation. An amazing banquet staff that will work with you through the entire process and ensure everything runs smooth - takes all worries away. If we had to do it all over again, we'd select Lafayette without a doubt. There isn't anything we would have changed. Absolutely beautiful and perfect!
We chose to book our wedding here three months prior to the wedding and they bent over backwards to accommodate our wedding. When we first walked in to the Lafayette club we were wowed by the fountain as we entered and the pleasant staff sealed the deal. My fiancée now husband absolutely loved the ballroom and the view of Lake Minnetonka. Everyone from the catering staff to the front desk receptionists and the event Coordinator were absolutely wonderful. Everyone worked so well to accommodate anything that we needed. The Lafayette club does all their own catering and it's totally worth it! We looked around at other venues in the area for plated meals and a Lafayette club prices were very comparable. We chose to serve steak and chicken at our reception and all of our guests raved about the food! he Lafayette club completely exceeded our Expectations. I highly recommend this place! You won't regret your choice.
I live out of state, so I had to communicate with the Lafayette club mostly over the phone and via emails. They were amazing at every step, very clear about all the pricing and they also custom made food combinations that I wanted and did not appear on the menu. This place is not for budget weddings, but for a very reasonable average venue price you get a dream looking amazing ballroom, top service and the location... oh the location!! It's right on the lake, the most beautiful drive to get there and so many places for wedding photos right next to the venue! We only heard compliments from our guests about the facility, the food and the service!! A beautiful lake view room for the bride and groom was provided for us for the night where we could get some rest and get organized. Brenda is your contact for all the questions, and she is always available and gets back to you very fast! I highly recommend the Lafayette Club, I already miss my wedding day and I could not even imagine my wedding at a different place!!!
What a great experience! Brenda, the wedding coordinator, was so easy to work with. She had a handle on all the details and always answered emails quickly and promptly. I would definitely recommend the Lafayette for a hassle free reception! The food, service, and planning were fantastic!!
My husband and I couldn't have been happier with the quality of service, food, and beautiful space at this amazing venue. We had a wonderful time working with Brenda and Nicole, who granted our every request. The entire day went so smoothly, and people are STILL raving about the filet and sea bass and late night sliders. I would definitely recommend this to any bride looking for an amazing and unforgettable wedding day!
Beautiful venue, highly recommend. Rent out all hotel rooms for your Wedding Party. Event Planner at Lafayette is very detailed.
The service was fantastic, food was great and the ballroom was stunning! Everyone was so great to work with!
I can't say enough good things about the Lafayette Club. They are extremely organized, serve great food and are so easy to work with. Brenda (the organizer) is on top of everything and will make sure everything goes flawlessly. The ballroom is gorgeous and we couldn't have had our reception at a better place.
I could have not asked for better service from the Lafayette Club. The food, and the staff were great. They really know how make your day truly special.
Lafayette Club service and food were spectacular. The ballroom and views of the lake are beautiful.
I was on a huge budget. My goal was to get the whole wedding (everything - dress, location and food) for under 10k. I have a looooong history with the Lafayette Club - my family has been members forever. Still...expensive is expensive. Having our wedding in January cut down on all costs as well as any possible noise. Also, we had the wedding AND the reception in the Ballroom - which kept people from getting lost in transit as well as cut cost on having to use a church. They kept up some of the lovely Christmas decorations and trees, which cut WAY back on how much we needed to spend on decorations. The area we spent most of our money on was food and we were SO pleased we did! The food was AMAZING! We chose to request the buffet (as it would encourage people to mingle). We had fillet mignon, turkey and CHILEAN SEA BASS (with a carver and carving station)... as well as a gorgeous fresh fruit medley, cheeses, grilled veggies and horseradish mashed potatoes. The buffet was breathtaking in its presentation, decoration and mix of fresh flavors. Brenda (the event coordinator) was easy to work with and we were so blessed to be given extra rooms to get ready in. Any wedding can be expensive - but you CAN have a dream of a wedding if you stick to what is really important versus what is extra for extra sake. Our wedding was beautiful, transparent, sweet, intimate and hugely meaningful. But, (just so you don't think the Lafayette Club is cheap) we spent money only on things of value and skipped a lot of the tradition-for-tradition-sake items. Spend money on things you will remember past the day of the wedding and which has meaning for YOU TWO...and skip the rest. There is something lovely about simplicity and transparency in lieu of miles of lace and fondant.
I basically grew up at the Lafayette club and the one thing I knew when I got engaged was that I was going to have my reception in the ballroom at Lafayette. It was amazing, Brenda Rogers the event planner is fantastic. The staff is great, food was perfect. Lafayette club made my wedding day the best it could be - getting ready, pictures and the wonderful cocktail hour and reception.
Loved the old charm of the ballroom. Beautiful wooden floors and chandeliers
