The Laguna Cliffs Marriott turned out to be a perfect location for our outdoor California wedding. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception for 58 guests on the Vue Lawn and many of our guests commented on how beautiful and convenient the venue was. One of the reasons we chose this resort for our wedding is that we had many guests from around the world and wanted a place where they could stay and feel like they were on vacation. A majority of them did stay on for several days before and after the wedding and they all really loved the hotel and its amenities. Another benefit of having our wedding and reception here is that it really lowered the burden on us as far as planning went. The event planners and staff here are simply amazing, they made sure that everything was set up perfectly and even went as far as coming in on their days off so that we could drop off supplies (guest book, place cards etc) the day before the event.

Laguna Cliffs Marriott was the perfect venue for our wedding. We hosted on the Vue Lawn for our cocktail hour and reception. The wedding package included everything we needed or could have asked for. Nicole was fantastic to work with, and everything went off without a hitch. Laguna Cliffs will be a very special place for us for the rest of our lives.
We stayed at the Marriott for our wedding, although we didn't hold any events here besides getting breakfast. The guests suites were nice, although a little pricey given the size. However, the property overall is beautiful, set on a cliff with ocean views and great amenities. The breakfast buffet was also great. Would stay at this venue again, very nice!

We really struggled with how many stars to give The Laguna Cliffs. Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful and we wouldn’t change a thing about the location. We got married on the Del Mar lawn then had our reception on the Vue Lawn. Everything looked stunning and the hotel florist did a wonderful job of coordinating with our other florist (Florals by Jenny). Sandy Chiu was wonderful leading up the event and was very helpful in answering our questions and helping us plan the day. We were very grateful that she was part of the process, she truly helped us turn our dream wedding into a reality! While the day was beyond perfect, there were a few aspects of working with the Laguna Cliffs that left us disappointed. Twenty minutes before the ceremony, my bridal party was informed that we needed to have our getting ready room cleared before the ceremony. I came back from taking pictures 15 minutes before the ceremony to find my bridesmaids stressed out and scrambling to move everything to another room. Thankfully, my wonderful wedding planning team (Pure Lavish Events) was able to extend our time in the room, but it created an unnecessary stressful situation right before we walked down the aisle! We also found some of the hotel staff to be unaccommodating and flat out rude. When my elderly grandfather requested to be close to his son so he could have help throughout the day, the hotel initially said it would be no problem, but actually put them at opposite ends of the resort. They were unapologetic when this was brought to their attention and would not even attempt to fix the situation. When my grandfather later lost his phone, he asked a staff member to take his room number in case it was found, and the staff replied that they were too busy. The night manager, Gene Qineza, was also rude to us the night of the wedding. We had plumbing issues in our room for the night of the wedding, which we had brought to their attention the day before. When we brought this to the manager’s attention at the end of the night, he sent someone to fix the issue. Realizing it was not going to be a quick fix, we asked that he have him removed because we were exhausted, and it was late on our wedding night. The manager was very rude to us in return, which left us upset and frustrated. All in all, it was a wonderful day and the location was stunning. Sandy was great and was very helpful throughout the planning process. However, the resort was lacking in customer service and left many of my guests commenting on the unfriendly nature of the staff.

Although the Marriott has a food and beverage minimum, the banquet coordinator was so great in helping us so that we could make it work. We had both the ceremony and reception at the hotel, and everything was absolutely gorgeous. The food was delicious, the wait staff so kind and helpful. It was also great to be able to get ready at the hotel--a suite for the bride and another for the groom. Plus we got a suite to stay at that night and a massage the next day. So great! Although pricy, definitely worth the value in expensive Orange County.

We couldn't go far from home since we had family visiting so I decided on this resort. After killing ourselves to have the perfect wedding event. This place was like heaven. The room was beautiful, the people were amazing and the view was to die for. Our waitress sent a bottle of champagne to our room. It was truly a wonderful experience.

Beautiful setting, great food, wonderful timely service. The planning process was a little more difficult. It was hard to get my coordinators on the phone and they weren't quick to return emails. The room block situation as trying and they held my deposit until every room in my block was reserved. Overall, the wedding was beautiful and everyone enjoyed the newly renovated resort. The hotel gave my husband and I a beautiful suite with an ocean view the night of the wedding and let us use two large rooms for the bridal party to get dressed in the day of the wedding.

We set up a room block for our guests and stayed here ourselves for our San Juan Capistrano wedding in June 2010. Beautiful hotel with luxurious rooms and an amazing view. After our wedding we continued to the celebration on the lounge patio. It was perfect. The room block was easy to set up and they included spa discounts, which we took advantage of. The front desk got a little confused because there were two wedding parties staying that weekend and the brides last name was similar to mine. But all in all our guests loved the place and we cant wait to go back.

The Laguna Cliffs Marriott was the most perfect California wedding backdrop. With our ceremony on the bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, cocktail party overlooking Dana Point Harbor, outdoor photos, and then an elegant ballroom for our dinner, it was to the 9's, the whole thing. It's been over a year since we married and our guests are still talking about how wonderful it was.

They have wonderful lawns that overlook the Harbor. The food was great and location was wonderful.
