Laine Palm Planning + Designs

We hired Laine Palm Designs for our rehearsal dinner at Cafe Lurcat and as a "Day of Coordinator" for our wedding at Aria in September 2021. While Laine did ultimately execute on the terms of the contract, there were minor miscommunications between vendors and our experience working with her was not enjoyable. Overall, Laine came across dismissive and passive throughout the wedding planning process. If you're looking for a wedding planner that'll make you feel relaxed, reassured, and express genuine excitement, I would not recommend hiring Laine Palm Designs. A few examples include: 1. We took the lead on the wedding planning process completely, including our 90, 60, 30, 15-day calls with Laine. During the calls, Laine took a back seat while we flushed out the timeline and details. We were responsible for uploading all information into her online planning tool. Luckily, my mom knew what she was doing having planned my sister's wedding but if we didn't have that experience we would've felt completely lost and overwhelmed in the wedding planning process. 2. One of Laine's responsibilities was to coordinate with our vendors to ensure the timeline worked from their perspective and they were aware of any necessary details. Laine confirmed she would do this during our 90-Day planning meeting. When we met again for our 60-Day meeting, she had not yet coordinated with the vendors. Then, at the 30-Day planning meeting Laine said "yup, all set" when we knew she had yet to communicate details to multiple vendors. Laine always said, "yes, it's covered" but did not offer any reassurance or credibility by providing details or even saying it with a smile. She ended up sending out an email blast to all vendors, simply exporting the details from the online planning tool. There were a few mix ups day-of (e.g., cake and coffee details) due to the lack of communication and coordination between vendors. 3. Laine did not inform us that she wouldn't be present on our wedding day, this came as a surprise. However, maybe this was for the best since we preferred working with her team member Ally - she was great! To round out this review, a few positives in working with Laine Palm Designs were 1) she was very easy to work with when postponing our original 2020 wedding date 2) her team members, including Ally, were amazing - jumping in to problem solve and helping us coordinate the day-of logistics.

Laine was an excellent planner. She was communicative, easy to work with, and reliable. We had a magical weekend, and she made sure that the details were taken care of!

I’m fairly certain when me and my husband got married that my mother also welcomed Laine formally into our family. Laine has impeccable taste, timeliness and an attention for detail. Not surprisingly, she flawlessly helped us safely navigate having a wedding during COVID, while making sure to adhere to the current CDC guidelines (which she knew was very important to us). We loved Laine and our wedding day we had nothing to worry about besides us, our loved ones and having a great time.

Other than the decision to marry my husband, hiring Laine was the BEST decision I made as we planned our wedding! It was one thing to look through her work on social media, but when I met her I was instantly impressed with how fun and grounded she was; and she helped me bring both of these qualities to our wedding day! Giving her total control of our decor & decoration resulted in something I never could have imagined - she went above & beyond and our guests were raving about all of the small details she paid attention to. You won't regret working with Laine!

Hiring Laine was hands down one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding day! After our first meeting over coffee, we had complete confidence that this lady was a boss babe planner who knew exactly what she was doing! Laine was extremely organized, responsive, detail oriented and dedicated to making all of our wedding dreams come to life. Not to mention, she is just an all around awesome human! As a vendor, we worked with Laine many times and each and every wedding went very smooth and stress-free. Laine does an amazing job managing not only her couple’s special day details but also all the team of vendors to ensure her couples can enjoy their wedding to the fullest. In addition to being very organized, Laine’s weddings are always stunning - she has a great eye when it comes to design and decor. We really enjoyed working with Laine in the past and we are looking forward to future weddings together.

Laine is AMAZING. If you're thinking about hiring her, just do it. You won't regret it. Hiring her as our day of coordinator might have been the best wedding day decision we made! She was responsive and organized throughout the entire process and I was so much more relaxed knowing she was running the show. Laine is simply the best. I started this process with no intention of getting a wedding planner-- a few months later, I found myself completely overwhelmed. Enter Laine. She understood my vision, my anxieties, my desires. She made the whole process so much easier, and my wedding day an absolute delight. People talk about the stress of wedding planning, and the insanity of their special day, but it never felt like that to me. Laine is a treasure, and my husband frequently reminds me that the hardest part of having the wedding behind us is that my answer to everything now can't be "Ask Laine!"

Laine was a total DREAM to work with from first contacting her, all the time in-between, and the wedding day. First of all, she's so incredibly responsive and replies quickly to email. If she doesn't have an answer, she'll at least tell you she's looking into it which I appreciated, and she leaves out of office emails if she's busy or traveling. She listens to all your needs, concerns and grand ideas and helps make it all a reality. Laine does not miss a detail, I was continually blown away of the things she thought of that I never would have. And then, she's just downright friendly, cool and genuine. She cares not just about the bride and groom and working with the vendors, she cares about your family and friends. Multiple family members and friends commented about how amazing Laine was. I used Laine for the day-of coordination but she checked in regularly with me beforehand and does all the behind-the-scenes contact work with the vendors making sure they all have what they need in the venue and set up my timeline which was so helpful. She worked very closely with the venue as well, The Lynhall, to make sure everything was in place. I felt so confident and never once did anything go awry or not as planned. She and the Lynhall staff were perceptive to when the apps were gone and moving up dinner which I appreciated because I never would have noticed and it kept all of our guests happy. I also want to point out she uses Aisle Planner for sharing details and keeping the wedding day running smoothly. It was great to use for keeping organized, storing invoices and receipts, keeping the timeline and you can choose to track guests here if you aren't using another website or doing it on your own. And a huge bonus, you can see all of Laine's work on Instagram, she is very active and I appreciated before the wedding because you see exactly how she works with vendors and couples and the pride she takes in every single wedding. If it's not obvious yet, I'd highly recommend Laine for your wedding day. Her attention to detail is on another level, her personality couldn't be any better, and she goes above and beyond for you and your family and friends. The value for her services was actually invaluable, this is the one thing I suggest all couples do is hire a planner, so much peace of mind for someone who is an industry expert in the Twin Cities!

Laine was absolutely amazing in every way! Leading up to our wedding I leaned on her heavily to help evaluate vendors, stay on budget and get an expert opinion. She was always very responsive and I felt like she was truly invested in making our big day the best it could be. I highly recommend working with Laine if you are getting married in the Twin Cities. She is extremely knowledgeable, well connected and will have your best interest in mind! I don't know how we would have pulled it off without her!

If you just got engaged, normally step one would be to pick your wedding date. But, I would strongly recommend this order- Step 1: hire Laine. Step 2: pick a wedding date that she is available for. She is the most important detail to lock down, our experience was that good. From day one until our big day, Laine was extremely organized and had our best interest in mind. Gave wonderful vendor recommendations and made the entire pre-wedding experience 100% stress free for the both of us. Not to mention, her connections with everyone in the MPLS wedding industry is an intangible benefit that should not be overlooked. She is worth every single penny we paid her. Plus, we had our meetings over drinks and tacos...? The best. Wonderful coordinator, even better person. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We knew we wanted support on the day of our wedding, so we hired Laine to be our day of coordinator. This was one of the best decisions we made throughout our entire wedding planning process. Laine was a total joy to work with. From our very first meeting so many months ago, all the way through even after the wedding she was incredibly helpful and a total blast to be around. She was so much more than just a day of coordinator. She helped us figure out estimates for food and alcohol, a reasonable timeline for the day of, and was a soothing source of reason when things started to go a bit awry. Laine is also an incredibly prompt email correspondent, which is SO appreciated when all you want is a quick answer! And as for the actual day of? She was a godsend. For all we knew, the day went 100% according to plan, running smoothly throughout all the preparation. It was only later that we heard stories of Laine keeping other vendors in line, setting up all the desserts, creating a gorgeous dream in our dining area. I don’t think it’s hyperbole to say that our day would not have been the dream we experienced without Laine. If you’re on the fence about hiring a day of coordinator, DO IT. And don’t hire just any day of coordinator – hire Laine. You’ll get one amazing woman who feels like a friend, knows the industry and vendors, can whip up an incredible timeline like it’s nothing, and will ease your mind when you think you’re about to lose it. Laine was my day of coordinator. I was stressed at first about my wedding, which led to me Laine! I felt at ease after meeting with her and she helped me with anything and everyone. Laine has excellent customer service and a great passion for the business. In addition she has amazing taste and vision, which helped me have the most beautiful wedding I could have dreamed of! Laine was very professional, but also made the process fun for me! She is a true delight to work with and I would highly recommend her to anyone. I could not imagine my wedding without her!

First off, Laine is by far one of the greatest human beings I have ever met! Not only is she extremely talented in all that she does, but she has such a warm, kind, loving, and energetic spirit, and only wants to help her clients by bringing their dream wedding to life. I have had the honor of working with Laine for a little over a year now due to some wedding issues marrying a military man with a chaotic schedule. Our first date had to be postponed until further notice as my fiancé would be off at training, and instead of throwing me on the back-burner like some vendors have due to all the "uncertainties" that come with a military wedding, Laine was there for me every step of the way. Through all the frustration, tears, worry and concern for whether I would even be able to celebrate that magical day, Laine was always positive and reassuring, always there by email, phone or text, very flexible and understanding of whatever the military through at me or my fiancé, and as of 2 weeks ago, Laine got my husband and I all situated for our big day; everything flowing flawlessly! Regardless of the hectic 'up in the air,' and every changing military schedule, my stress and uncertainty whether anything would ever work out, Laine will be there, every step of the way. I will forever be grateful for her, her organization, her spunky but professional personality, and the work she put in to making our wedding and reception one of the best days of our lives! I can't say enough about her; she will always be a person I recommend for anything wedding planning or design. There is nothing this lovely woman can't do! Love ya Laine!

Laine is one of the most fun and talented Event Designers I have worked with. She completely took all our visions and turned them into beautiful designs and pieces. I definitely recommend getting to know her, because she is a BLAST!
