Our wedding itself was beautiful — but getting there was one of the most stressful experiences we’ve ever had.
From the start, there were small things that felt off. The venue is ...gorgeous and checked every box for us. The price isn’t cheap, but we wanted the dream and were told this was truly “all-inclusive,” with everything handled — exactly what we needed as busy professionals.
Our experience was the opposite.
Once we signed, communication dropped. Weeks would pass with only vague half-answers, and we often had to call multiple times to get clarity. Staff openly complained about being short-staffed and overwhelmed, then left the job, leaving us without consistent support. Our point of contact changed three times in the six months between booking and our wedding.
We constantly had to chase answers while paying thousands each month. Two days before the wedding, we got a last-minute, unplanned call to walk through every detail — some of which were wrong — which only added stress. The whole lead-up, we kept saying, “Why does this feel like their first wedding?” For a venue booked every weekend, it was shocking how hard it was to get basic things done. Even now, six weeks and multiple follow-ups later, we still don’t have our overpaid balance refunded.
The price simply doesn’t match the professionalism.
That said, the day-of staff and most vendors were excellent. Catering was outstanding — guests are still raving about the food. Bartenders were professional, kind, and a highlight of the night.
Our coordinator, Lisa, was the hero of the entire process. She fought fires, advocated for us, and kept us calm throughout. Without her, the day wouldn’t have happened. She’s the reason we had the wedding we did.
The exception was Mike, the DJ from Lake Oak Meadows. After our first call, communication fell apart. Emails went unanswered, promises were dropped, and he only responded when we pushed. The day before, we ended up calling him to try and get some answers, and he was defensive until realizing how much had been missed. Even after this, on the day of our wedding, he failed to play must-have requested songs, didn’t cut the father-daughter dance as promised, and gave attitude to our guests — something we’re still hearing about weeks later. His lack of professionalism stood out in an otherwise great vendor group.
All in all, we had a beautiful wedding in an amazing location. But the stress and frustration leading up to it were unacceptable. The venue is stunning, but the process was disorganized and unprofessional. Book here only if you’re prepared to manage the planning yourself — because you’ll be doing their job.
