. I've gotten a few emails through or spoken to someone on the phone who will promise to send more info or schedule a visit but no one will follow through. At one point I reached someone and politely mentioned that I was having trouble getting responses, and she was highly defensive and kept telling me how "overwhelmed" they are (even though it was not the high season for weddings when I was contacting them). I was very interested in this venue, but it seems like they need to get their act together.

he glass-windowed ballroom with gorgeous panoramic views of Lake Travis. The resort has such a cozy, romantic, and relaxing vibe to it. The infinity pool with swim-up bar, also overlooking Lake Travis, was such a hit with our guests too. Our guests from out of town couldn't get over how breathtaking the sunsets were, and it was the perfect "staycation" spot for our Austin friends too. I honestly can't say enough amazing things about Alex too! I cannot put into words how thankful my husband and I were to have worked with her. I would partner up with her again for any event I plan. She is hard working but more importantly she is passionate about her work and the couples she works with . From the very beginning she was on top of EVERYTHING. We had multiple meetings to go over budget, food, schedule, etc. She was always available and extremely responsive. We felt so comfortable working with her. I could be myself with her, open and honest, and was immediately impressed with how in tune she was with what our priorities were for the big day. She also has amazing industry relationships and vendor recommendations, which proved to be invaluable. Always looking out for the best for us. On top of everything else, Alex and her other team members guided us through the entire process with smiles. Besides their sharp professionalism and attention to detail, they brought personality, humor and levity to every task we had to tackle, something that a nervous/excited bride appreciated so much :) The meetings became fun, instead of what I thought would be stressful! I still remember seeing Alex minutes before walking down the aisle too and her presence calmed me in such a way that I'll forever be grateful for. I guess it goes without saying, but anyone would be in fantastic hands with Alex and the rest of the incredible team at Lakeway! Lakeway will always be such a magical spot in Austin for us, and we plan on celebrating many more special occasions there. Cannot recommend the venue enough!

2) INDOOR ceremony/reception but still have the views! There is already so much to stress over for a wedding, I didn’t want to add the weather variable as one of them. The views in the Vistas Ballroom make you feel like you are outside but with A/C. 3) Proximity to Austin! During our venue search we were contemplating other resorts further down Lake Travis but concluded they were just too far from Austin making it a logistical nightmare for our guests. Lakeway is just the perfect distance away from downtown Austin and the airport. 4) Everything you need in 1 place! All of our guests were coming from out of town, so it was important that we all stayed together to maximize the time we could spend with everyone. Our wedding was on Friday so Saturday we were able to hang by the pool and spend more time visiting our guests. We concluded our extended wedding weekend with a sunset sail at Lakeway Marina which was walking distance from the resort which our guests LOVED. 5) ALEX FOLDEN and the Lakeway staff! I can’t say enough things about Alex Folden and the Lakeway staff. Alex was our main point of contact and was single handedly the best, most responsive, and accommodating vendor we encountered during the wedding planning process. The ‘day of’ team delivered exceptionally well and received so many compliments’ from our guests on the outstanding service. If you are venue searching, look no further than Lakeway!

This is a great venue if you are having a lot of out of town guests. About 90% of our guests were from out of town, and Lakeway offers so many amenities for them - very few of our guests ventured outside of the resort at all over the weekend because there was so much for them to do and enjoy on site. It was also really fun for all of our guests to stay in one place and so convenient that they were in the same place as us for the whole weekend. The entire staff made our time at the resort so easy and relaxing - from the bellhops upon arrival (who were AMAZING! - especially Elvis), to the bartenders at the back porch bar, and everyone on the events & catering team - they are all fantastic, and provided us with unparalleled service and attention. We got to know many staff members and learned that most of them have been working at the resort for years, even decades in some cases, and it shows in their customer service. On the day of our wedding, everything ran SO smoothly! If there were any issues that day, I (the bride) was not aware of them. Having worked in event planning for 2 years prior to my wedding, I know how chaotic it is, and my family was concerned that I wouldn't be able to "let go" of the planning and set up on the day-of.. But the team at Lakeway handled everything, and I actually got to sit back and enjoy my wedding day, start to finish. I didn't have to worry or stress about a single thing that entire day. They were very professional in everything they did, and I was truly amazed at how knowledgeable and how well trained the entire staff was. We used the Vistas Ballroom for both our ceremony and reception, so they had to flip the room in about an hour - they did a fantastic job!! Everything looked perfect for both the ceremony and the reception. The Vistas Ballroom is INCREDIBLE - unlike any other ballroom I've ever seen, with 3 of 4 walls as windows and a giant terrace overlooking beautiful Lake Travis. There is nothing else like it and it can't be beat. The food was also AMAZING! During our tasting, when we wanted to change some things, they were very accommodating and made our meal exactly what we wanted. Many of our guests commented (and still say) that it was the best wedding food they have ever had. When we tried the food at our tasting, we were blown away at how great everything was, but still thought when serving it for 150-200 people, no way it would be as good at the wedding. We were very wrong - it was just as good, if not better. We served filet with macaroni & cheese, and veggies. Everyone's steaks were cooked PERFECTLY and the mac & cheese had great flavor and was super creamy. I have no clue how they managed to cook perfect meals for that many guests. Additionally, during cocktail hour while my husband & I were busy taking photos (not eating the passed hors d'oeuvres), our banquet captain, James, had the kitchen staff make a specialty dish just for us. THANK YOU to everyone at the Lakeway Resort & Spa for making our wedding weekend PERFECT! It was the best weekend of our lives!

ding experience: 1. Room Block and Front Desk- Not all of the rooms actually had a lake view, which was agreed upon in our contract. The rooms were also not on the same floor or even in the general area for guests that were coming from all over Texas, out of state, and out of the country. The front desk was friendly, but completely not prepared for the wedding party to check in the day before the wedding. To this day, I’ve had guests tell me they also had issues upon checkout with their bills. One guest cancelled one night (outside of the block room rate) and didn’t receive the appropriate bill for two weeks. I was also billed for multiple rooms instead of my mother and this took almost a month to correct. 2. Credit Card Payments- There were several issues with the sales groups throughout the planning process in 2016 and 2017. The highlight of these events came when the two credit cards on file were NOT processed during the week of our wedding. Instead, both cards were charged over a week later when I was traveling internationally for my honeymoon. Despite my calls and e-mails, I was unable to use these credit cards during our trip. 3. Bridal “Getting Ready” Suite-Although I take responsibility for not double checking this room prior to our church service, I am deeply disturbed that someone (either a guest or someone who knew a wedding was taking place) came into the room and stole a number of items to include a Bluetooth speaker. Only one staff member actively helped and looked for the missing item.

mend this location. The one comment I have is if you decide to have your ceremony here, make sure to speak to the Marina next door and let them know the date and time as the party barges will dock in front of the Vistas Ballroom where the ceremony takes place.

y would send a contract. They never sent it, I called back and asked for the general manager who made sure my call was returned. They said again they would send the contract but when they did, the price had gone up $60 per night per room - I asked if I could have the originally quoted price and was told no. Very disappointing.

om at the resort is perfect. We held our ceremony and reception in the space. The process of flipping the room was fast, and our guests got to enjoy the patio and lake views during cocktail hour. Everyone had a great time, and I know it will be a day we all remember fondly in part due to the people behind the scenes that made the event run smoothly. Sarah Wilson and her team were great to work with. Planning was easy, and they were very swift to address any concerns that came up during the process and on the day of the wedding. The on site chef and kitchen staff did a brilliant job with our custom dinner menu. The fact that they provide everything needed to serve a meal and drinks eliminated the need shop around for and coordinate multiple vendors, which made the planning process much less stressful. They even provide vases for table decoration. Choosing Lakeway Resort and Spa as our venue was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. I highly recommend them.

e any previous experience with LW, and honestly I became very concerned when I read some negative reviews from other websites. I addressed those concerns and I couldn't have gotten more reassurance. The banquet captain James told me, "I promise we will exceed your expectations." My expectations of this 4 star resort were already very high, but James was right. Our expectations were exceeded on every level. From check in, to guest rooms, to dinner reception, bar, every staff person from coordinators, chef, valet, front desk, bartender, even cleaning staff--it was all excellent. And the food was amazing! The salmon "melted in your mouth", and guests said the beef tenderloin was the best they'd ever had. Even though the weather was very cold this day so we couldn't enjoy the cocktail hour on the gorgeous wrap around deck overlooking the lake, it was still an incredible view and the bride and groom managed to still get some amazing sunset pictures with the lake background. The after party was in the beautiful bar downstairs from the lobby which stayed open until 2:00 am. Most of our guests spent the night at the resort and we were able to get the wedding party rooms next to one another in a wing separate from the other guest rooms which was great for the even later after party that followed. Our guests are still commenting on what a beautiful venue it was, superb food and service, and very fun dance party! What more could we ask for!

just 2 times, but on the day of the engagement, there was no confusion at all! She was very easy to work with and responded to all our emails in a timely manner. The day of the event was amazing! All the staff were so nice and friendly and all our guests were so impressed. The staff even placed some appetizers to the side for me and my fiancee and made sure we ate before the event. I cant say enough about James. He was so helpful throughout the event. He made sure we were doing okay and if there were any changes, he asked us before doing it. Anytime we needed something, he was always right there to get it for us. From check in to check out and everything in between was great! The scenery was just an added bonus. The view of the lake from the resort was incredible and one of of the best views in town. I will definitely recommend this venue to anyone and I cant wait to come back and visit!

ay we checked in to the minute we checked out we felt completely taken care of. Sarah was so helpful from the day we first visited all the way through and even after the event was over! Lakeway was exactly what we wanted for our venue and it was so nice to have all of our guests staying there as well! No need for anyone to drive or to hire shuttles which made the day even easier. The pool area was perfect and having a marina on site made renting a party boat for our guests so simple! The room for the ceremony and reception was beautiful; you barely need to add decorations. I would recommend Lakeway to anyone looking to have their wedding in the Austin area!

I was worried the resort would be so big that my guests would get lost and have a hard time finding the wedding ceremony and reception area but I was pleasantly surprised by it's size and how easy it is to get from place to place. The value you get from their packages is hard to beat. They offer a ton of items that other venue will nickel and dime you for. Their food prices seem high compared to other places, but when you really start to break it all apart, you're getting a lot for your money. It really makes it easy to include as much as possible in one package. The Vistas II terrace and reception room are absolutely stunning. I don't think we could have asked for a better view of the rolling hills and the lake. The sun set was beautiful and we got some gorgeous pictures. If you're looking for a beautiful hill country view at an elegant place where your guests will be wowed by the beautiful sunset's this is your place!!!!

terrific!! When we first signed with Lakeway they gave us a list of their highly recommended vendors for flowers,cake,band,photographers etc.., we used them and they were all perfect!!! It was a beautiful Christmas wedding!!!

She made herself and the venue available for the rehearsal which was very comforting. rnrnOne great thing about the venue is that guests can lodge onsite or find nearby Vacation Rental By Owners which made a big difference in how late people stayed at the reception. We had several families with small children at our wedding and the venue did a great job accommodating those families with high-chairs, booster seats, kids meals and even a children's play center.rnrnOur guests consistently remarked on how beautiful the venue was. I wholeheartedly recommend this venue.

ue understatement! She took care of every little detail and allowed me to not stress one bit the day of the wedding. The venue is BEAUTIFUL. All of the out-of-state guests loved it, saying it was the most peaceful place with the nicest staff they have ever met. Everything from the rooms to the staff to the food was impeccable. As far as the wedding and reception - it was literally perfect (we even extended an hour). Nothing, nothing at all, went wrong that I am aware of. And if something did, Julie is so good she would have taken care of it without my knowing. She took care of all the little details that a bride forgets about, like putting purses and cell phones in a safe spot, holding my flowers on cue when needed, taking gifts back to our room, along with setting up rose petals and champagne on our bed without us knowing! She is on the ball 24/7 with planning and was always reachable, even on her days off. We HIGHLY recommend using Lakeway for your wedding, if not just a vacation! The staff is nothing short of amazing :)

is perfect if you want a sort of "outdoor" wedding that is temperature controlled. All of our guests swooned over the beauty of the location and how smoothly the night went. Lakeway makes it so easy with the packages they offer. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to have our wedding!

Melanie Richardson, our Lakeway Resort and Spa coordinator, was extremely helpful in our planning process and on the day of the wedding. She took care of every little detail with care so that we wouldn't have to worry about anything during our special weekend. Our reception in the Vistas Ballroom was gorgeous. The wait staff at Lakeway was incredible and very attentive; the food was insanely delicious. Our guests had a fantastic time at Lakeway Resort and Spa. Overall, the weekend was more perfect than we could have imagined. I would definitely recommend getting married at Lakeway Resort, however, it is on the rather expensive side, but they were very willing to help make our weekend fantastic for our budget. If you have a lot of out-of-town guests, then this place is fantastic because it serves as a hotel and a venue. The rooms were awesome, and very clean. The spa was amazing and very accommodating as well! Overall, I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed having our wedding at Lakeway Resort and Spa!

because we knew Lakeway was taking care of everything leaving us to enjoy our company and each other. Everyone that attended our wedding had nothing but great things to say about how Lakeway treated them... The service was excellent! We definitely recommend this venue!
