Situated in New Orleans, LA, Latrobe’s on Royal is a wedding venue in an antique building that dates back well over 100 years. Here, the professional and talented staff are enthusiastic about helping couples add their own story to the venue’s history. The elegant architectural details and vintage aesthetic can serve as a complement to a soon-to-be-weds’ vision and adds a sense of sophistication to the festivities.
Latrobe’s on Royal was originally the first State Bank in Louisiana and was completed in 1822. Nestled in the French Quarter, its surroundings enhance the venue’s charms. The building was named for its architect, Benjamin Henry Latrobe. This well-known professional’s work includes the Baltimore Basilica, the White House’s porticos, and other notable structures throughout the US. As a figure in American history, Latrobe’s role in this venue’s construction enhances its significance, making it an even more memorable nuptial locale.

Their rental packages include a number of services, such as setup and takedown, audiovisual equipment, and logistical planning. For the event’s dining experience, the on-site Chef collaborates with couples to determine the menu. The staff is able to make suggestions for reputable vendors in regard to other aspects of the wedding. With exposed brick, original lamps, an enclosed courtyard, and a grand banking room with a dome, this vintage setting helps accentuate a couple’s celebrations.

We recently hosted a party to celebrate my daughter’s marriage at Latrobe’s on Royal. It actually was a perfect experience in my opinion.
Let’s start with the location, centrally located in the French Quarter. No longer living in New Orleans, it really was a destination for all of our guests. It was easy for everyone to find accommodations within walking distance. Room blocks were unnecessary as there are so many hotels of varying price points.
Next up was the venue. Latrobe’s is a gorgeous old Louisiana State Bank. It is very quintessential old New Orleans with tons of exposed brick, gas lanterns, etc. It even has a historic bank vault where a bar was placed. Everyone loved it.
The food was exceptional. There wasn’t one thing on the menu that I didn’t think was great and we’re very particular about food. The guests told me the food was excellent. One other thing I should point out is that Latrobe’s knows how to staff the venue appropriately. Our 150 guests never had to stand in long lines to get food or a drink from the bar.
I worked with Millie, Rylan and Hana and they are so experienced and knowledgeable. Every attention was paid to the detail. They are fun to work with, make great suggestions and help to keep the planning on track. During the tasting over the summer, they even reviewed my contracts to make sure everything was on track. I felt no need to hire a wedding or party planner.
The party was a blast and got a little out of hand but only in a good way. I highly recommend hosting your event at Latrobe’s. For us, it was the perfect place to host a party.
Incredible venue—Rylan and Millie were exceptional to work with. Incredible attention to detail and did everything in their power to make our special day perfect (and it was!!). I could not recommend Latrobe’s enough. They made my vision come to life and were so knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. The work they put in was not unnoticed and our guests had a fabulous time!! The true Nola experience!!
Working with the team at Latrobe’s was the best decision we made during our wedding planning process. The venue was beautiful, elegant, and sophisticated providing our dream atmosphere with the perfect French Quarter location. The food was phenomenal as was the attention to detail in the execution of the entire event. Yet what truly stood out was the level of service provided. Led by Rylan, the entire team top to bottom went above and beyond to ensure a smooth experience from start to finish. From the initial transparency in booking the venue, through the tasting, rehearsal and final day we felt taken care of and confident that we were in the hands of seasoned professionals who are experts in their craft.
I cannot recommend Latrobe’s highly enough. If you’re looking to host an event in the French Quarter and would like to know that you’ll be working with the best in the business do not hesitate to make Latrobe’s your choice.
Any questions?
Latrobe’s on Royal is the perfect wedding venue! As an out of town bride, booking at Latrobe’s made the planning process way easier. So much so that we did not feel the need to hire a wedding planner. The venue’s highly-skilled and experienced team are able to provide helpful insights every step of the way and are always willing to answer questions. Their vendor list is very helpful, everyone they recommended did an incredible job.
The building itself is nothing short of magical. Giving our guests a real taste of New Orleans was incredibly important. If our guests did nothing else during their trip, we wanted them to feel like they had an experience unique to the city. Latrobe’s definitely helped us achieve that. From the beautiful courtyard complete with burning gas lamps, to the grand banking room, to the wonderful food selection of delicious regional delicacies. Many of our guests told us that they felt they had been transported back in time. That it was the best, most unique wedding they had ever attended – and with the best food!
Lastly, the team at Latrobe’s is incredible – I actually miss talking to them every week! (LOL) Rylan, Hana, and Millie are the best. I am so grateful for their expertise, patience, and kindness during the entire planning process. A big thank you to Rylan especially for her guidance during our tasting and rehearsal! We would also like to thank the day-of event team, including Marté and David, who made us feel so special on our wedding day. Many of our guests commented on the kindness of the Latrobe’s staff who made them feel so welcome.
In conclusion, there are simply not enough stars to accurately review Latrobe’s! If you have been searching for a venue in New Orleans, congratulations, you’ve found it! Trust me. We will cherish the memories forever.
We are still on cloud nine from the wedding my daughter and son-in-law just had at Latrobe’s. The moment we walked into the space we knew it was unique and special. Working with Rylan and her team made us feel like we didn’t need to worry about a thing. We are a foodie family and food was very important to us. After our three hour tasting we knew we had made the right choice. We took all of the input an and recommendations Rylan had to offer especially the spiked ice coffee at the end of the night! Our guests were blown away with this venue and the unique nola vibe it brings. The staff is top rate genuinely nice people who want to see that you have a great time. They even joined us in the dance-off and we loved it!!! No need to look anywhere else Latrobes has it all. Thank you so much!
To start, I think my wedding was without a doubt the best night of my life thanks to Latrobe's. To us, the night was perfect. From the champagne skirt upon reception entrance, to the INCREDIBLE food, the staff dancing with everyone on the dance floor, Marte making sure we were always having fun and had a drink in hand, to Rylan at the helm of a second line to end the night. I can't even count how many people came up to us to sing praises of the Latrobe's team, but if I had to guess, it was all 120 of our guests! The Latrobe's team are some of the most wonderful people we've ever had the pleasure of meeting and we will never forget all that they did for us. I truly don't think there is a venue out there that does it better than them. We have had the time of our lives working with these wonderful people to pull off our New Orleans destination wedding and my only wish is that I can do it all over again with them every year. From the very bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything!
We are almost exactly 1 month out since the magical wedding of our daughter and son-in-law, and I still smile everytime I think about it. EVERY aspect of the planning, tastings, rehearsal, and wedding were perfect. Rylan, Hana, and Millie are three incredibly talented ladies with an AMAZING staff! They truly treat you as if you are THE only client they have. The food and drinks were perfect. Marte and his crew are simply amazing! "they" say planning your daughter's wedding is one of the most stressful things you do in life. We didn't have that. Latrobe's had the answer and/or solution each and every time I had a question! Now I'm ready for someone else to get married there and invite me because I want to go back!
10/10 on all regards. I attended a wedding at Latrobe's a few years ago, and when my now husband and I began looking at venues, no where was living up to Latrobe's. And, I am SO, SO glad we chose Latrobe's. We were given advice, we were taken care of. As a bride (who is also a medical student), my stress level was incredibly low. My husband is from New Orleans, but I am not; and, we live 7 hours away. But, it was smooth sailing.
The communication was excellent, the advice was excellent, everything was just amazing. The day of was fabulous. Food, drinks, ceremony, just everything. As the couple, being tucked away to make sure we could try all of the food we picked out and have a chance to down some water was invaluable. (Also, shout out to my man Marte for taking care of myself and the groom as well as our parents. He did everything from carry my train to make sure I never had an empty glass in my hand. He didn't even let my dad stand in line for food because he insisted he would get it.)
I can't recommend Latrobe's enough. Your day will be magical – guaranteed. They have vendors they recommend because they do this all the time (literally) who are also all excellent. They help with every little thing. We had some issues with the second line because we got married on the same weekend as New Years Eve and the Sugar Bowl, and the took care of it and you would never know.
I have received nothing but compliments from everyone who attended. Latrobe's will make sure you have a beautiful ceremony and a GREAT party.
My wife and I cannot speak highly enough of Latrobe's and the ladies that run the place. They are experts in parties/weddings and made the planning seamless. They help your wedding feel like YOU and for that I can't thank them enough. It was no big deal to have a Colombian "hora loca" at our wedding and they helped make that happen. The building itself is gorgeous, the food delicious. Everyone we know said the wedding was amazing and Latrobe's was one of the main reasons.
The history of the building is the reason why we choose this venue. It was absolutely beautiful and the perfect setting for our wedding day. One of the many special touches they offer is that of a personal attendant for the bride and groom on the night of and ours was phenomenal! We also wanted to offer our guests an entirely vegan menu, and they accommodated this with delicious options - our guests are still talking about it!
The team at Latrobe’s is absolutely fantastic! My husband and I are from NYC and got married this past October. Millie, Rylan, and Hana from start to finish were beyond helpful, especially with planning a wedding from out of state. The venue is so unique and gorgeous and the on-site team is spectacular. We would like to give a very special thanks to Marté, who helped us on our wedding day to make sure things ran smoothly and perfectly. The food and drinks were just as wonderful. We can’t say how many times our guests told us this was the best wedding they had ever been to. We would do it all over again in a heart beat!
The team at latrobes is absolutely phenomenal! Not only is the venue stunning, but Rylan and the team made the entire experience so seamless. They are family now and we will cherish the weekend forever! Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the vendors was flawless and we couldn’t have done it without Latrobes ❤️
Millie and the staff at Latrobe's were absolutely wonderful to work with. They handled all the details and made excellent recommendations. My son and daughter-in-law were pleased. There were a lot of out to town guests and they are still talking about the great time they had. They organized the second line with police and band and perfect way to end the reception. I would highly recommend Latrobe's for any event
It's been more than a year since our wedding in October 2022, and I still am not over how amazing Latrobe's on Royal is. We are still talking about how wonderful our experience was and how perfect our wedding turned out thanks to the ladies at Latrobe's! Our guests were beyond impressed and are still raving about the wedding. When we got engaged we weren't entirely sure where we wanted to get married, we decided on the French Quarter and started looking at venues and found Latrobe's and immediately fell in love. We looked at other venues, but Latrobe's was still front runner. The ladies at Latrobe's (Rylan, Hana, and Millie) made it effortless to plan from out of state. We did a virtual walk through before getting to see the venue a few months later. They KNOW what they are doing when it comes to a wedding/event. You will get a several page guide filled with FAQ's and preferred vendors, which made it even easier for us. There is a ton of variety on the preferred vendors so it is easy to take that and find what fits you! The ladies also were so kind and answered all of our many questions promptly! They know what makes it fun - we trusted them with their suggestions and it turned out perfectly. Truly a well-oiled machine. Plus, our attendant Q, was amazing. She was truly so sweet and made us feel so special on our special day. I seriously miss dealing with them - that's how awesome they were! The building itself is even so special and unique. Unbelievable, amazing service, amazing experience, it truly was the least stressful day we could imagine. It is a STUNNING venue, the courtyard is the perfect backdrop for your vows, the vault is such a cool space for a bar, and you can feel the history as they really do a great job at including that in their space. We had about 125 people - maybe 130 and there was plenty of space to dance and eat (and sit for those who didn't want to dance!). I cannot speak highly enough of this venue. I could go on and on about how amazing Latrobe's is. If you are wanting a wedding in the French Quarter and are even considering Latrobe's - just book them. Trust me, it's worth it.
Latrobe's is the ultimate wedding venue!!! The atmosphere and decor is gorgeous - historic, elegant, romantic, classic. The building is beautiful on its own and really doesn't need much for decor. Our guests were so wowed by the atmosphere! And everyone loved being right in the middle of the French Quarter. The food is fabulous and there are so many great options!! The team provides a lot of help with the wedding planning so there is no need to hire a coordinator. They provide much needed guidance along the way and aren't afraid to give you their professional opinion!! Very responsive and knowledgeable. Can't say enough good things!!
We chose Latrobe's for our destination wedding only after it became evident our first choice was not going to be adequate for our guest count. I struggled with some disappointment at first, but all disappointment vanquished with how easy Rylan, Hanna, and Millie made our planning process.
I hadn't seen Latrobe's in person, as we live out of state, until the Wednesday before our Saturday wedding. I definitely was not disappointed when I finally saw our venue in person! Latrobe's is so beautiful and has so much character, photos really do not do it justice. The carriage house is a dream come true for a wedding!!!
Our wedding and reception was absolutely perfect and the Latrobe's event staff made sure everyone was well taken care of. The food was incredible and our guests still comment (a month later) that the food at our wedding was some of the best they had in New Orleans!
Our wedding truly was perfect and if we had to do it over again, we'd choose Latrobe's again and again!!
Latrobe’s hosted our wedding ceremony and reception in April 2023, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome. The staff goes above and beyond to take care of the finer details and puts you at ease throughout the process — they’re responsive, thoughtful, and give your wedding the love and attention it needs to thrive. The historic space is such a crowd pleaser and has a genuine New Orleans feel. Wedding decisions are always tough, but Latrobe’s will always absolutely be the right decision.
All I can say is book this venue if you want to have the most romantic and fun wedding possible! Latrobe's is a beautiful, romantic venue with incredible owners and staff. I was organizing the wedding from afar and they made it easy. They helped us think through things every step of the way. The food is incredible, the staff feels like family and they went above and beyond with us. So many of our guests commented on how magical the venue was and how wonderful the staff. If we could give it 10 stars we would!!
Love, love, love. Our wedding was absolutely stunning. Latrobe's has so much charm and character and I still cannot believe how beautiful our wedding was. On top of that, the food was amazing - our guests kept telling us about it! I have to also specifically mention how wonderful the Ladies of Latrobe's are - we planned our wedding here from out of state, but the staff made it incredibly easy the whole way through. From taking us on a virtual tour of the building, to answering my (endless) logistical questions, to recommending wonderful vendors, to making sure the event went just right. I really can't say enough nice things. Thank you so much to Latrobe's for such a dreamy wedding!
I have only good things to say about this venue! The staff helped ensure our wedding was the best that it could be. They went above and beyond and for that I am so grateful. My husband and I had a fantastic time and genuinely had fun at our ceremony and reception; I just don’t think that would have been possible without their efforts. They were there to help us plan our wedding every step of the way. Hana and Rylan were also very open to our ideas and honest with any concerns they had. They are experienced, realistic, and intelligent. They also have great relationships with a variety of vendors in the area so it was so easy to trust their recommendations. Additionally, all our guests loved it! My husband and I have received so many compliments on our wedding and how happy our guests were that it wasn’t, “another traditional ballroom style wedding.” I highly recommend this venue. You won’t regret booking it, but you may regret passing on it.
Such an amazing, authentically New Orleans venue. Our guests can't stop raving about the venue AND the food served. The day of the wedding, the staff was beyond amazing. It was very clear that the Latrobe's team knows how to execute on a fabulous wedding. I can't thank Latrobe's enough for helping us host an epic wedding.
If you are planning a wedding in NOLA, look no further than Latrobe's. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. We planned our daughter's destination wedding and could not have been happier. So why choose Latrobe's over all the other venues?
#1) The ladies who run it are phenomenal. Milli, Rylan and Hana are the best. These ladies know their business and their wealth of knowledge is amazing. I would strongly encourage everyone to listen to their suggestions. They provide you with an extensive FAQ package that includes a list of vendors and everything else you need to know about planning a wedding there. We did not even have to use a wedding or event planner because they covered everything in detail, they are just that good. They made the process so easy, especially the day of the event. I can't say enough positive comments about these ladies. They think of everything in addition to being such professional, kind, hard working awesome woman.
#2) The venue is so beautiful and it is located in the heart of the french quarter. We had both the ceremony and reception at Latrobe's. The ceremony in the courtyard was beautiful. Rylan was so detail oriented at the rehearsal that many of the wedding party commented how impressed they were and did not receive that level of excellence at their own weddings. It's such a one of a kind venue that you don't need a lot of decorations because the building speaks for itself.
#3) The food was delicious. We choose the Prix Fixe level 3 and had a wide variety of food for our guests to choose from and people were very happy. The ratio of bartenders to guests was above industry standards so there was minimal wait time. We followed the ladies suggestion on a NOLA inspired cocktail party and it was a big hit. People were able to eat, drink, dance , mingle and table hop. The ladies were spot on when it came to the flow of the event and had every detail covered from beginning to end.
We ended the night with a second line led by Kinfolk, which was perfect. Once again the ladies were assisting by passing out favors, directing guests and ensuring the event was a roaring success. I would highly recommend ending the evening this way. To this day, several months after the wedding, people are still talking about how it was the most fun they had every had at a wedding.
I can’t say enough about Latrobes. Coordinating my son’s wedding was a daunting task made easier by the support of Hana and Rylan, whose help was priceless. Always available with prompt replies to my questions and emails, and ready to provide invaluable suggestions. The wedding ceremony was held here, as well as the reception, and the space was absolutely magical. The food was incredible, as was the service of the entire evening. Thank you, Ladies of Latrobes!
If you are planning an event or wedding- do not go further, call Latrobe’s now. You cannot have a better experience than at this beautiful historic space with the rockstar team led by Millie, Hana and Rylan. We had our wedding ceremony and reception here in November 2021 and cannot say enough about how much we loved it.
The Space: You are in awe by how grand and historic every part of the space is from the entryway to the reception space. The ceilings are very high, the color of the space is warm and you truly do not need to decorate very much because the space is so beautiful. It also is very flexible for your number of guests and flow of events. We decided to do both our ceremony and reception here. We had the ceremony in the courtyard space (which is indoors) and then flowed through into the reception space for our cocktail-style reception. We had about 120 guests and it felt very comfortable. Definitely suggest doing the cocktail-style reception. We wanted to do a seated dinner, but ended up choosing the cocktail-style reception. It gave guests more flexibility and more dancing!
The Food and Drink: WOW- everything is delicious here. We had many guests say this was the best food they had ever had at a wedding and many said it was the best food they had in New Orleans! The menu is expansive to fit any event and they are creative to fit your event or audience, especially when it comes to accommodating food allergies. Make sure to order the Ahi Tuna and the rice and beans- our favorites! Also, the bar is amazing- folks drink sazeracs to old fashioneds all night!! The bar packages include everything you need.
The Planning: Working with Millie, Hana and Rylan was so fun, organized and they never let you become overwhelmed. They take care and think of every detail so you do not need a wedding planner, unless you need major help on things unrelated to the wedding space. Not only did they help us with the details related to the venue, they ensured that we were thinking about a smooth whole wedding day including tips for our officiant, organizing our photo list to organizing the second line. When you sign your contract they also give you a list of vendors- we used it for every decision from decorating, hotel blocks, and hair.
The People: This may be slightly repetitive but all of the staff at Latrobe's are just so kind and thoughtful at every turn. The planning process with Millie, Hana and Rylan was a delight and they were patient when we had a million repetitive questions and encouraging as we embarked on planning our wedding while we lived far away. I even caught them at one point helping sew one of our guests dresses that had ripped- they really show the best care. The other staff from the waitstaff to bartenders were truly kind, thoughtful and so hospitable. Q who took us around all night made us feel comfortable, cared for and so special.
The Couples Experience: Guests had the best experience but we should also say as the couple it was so thoughtfully laid out. The flow for my husband and I was perfect. After the ceremony, they had a plate of food with champagne for my husband and I to enjoy with a moment of quiet before we entered the party. They checked on us throughout the night to make sure we had anything we needed. We felt so cared for and got to eat which no couple ever says!
We are already starting to save up to do another party for an anniversary at Latrobe’s. You will only regret not going with Latrobe’s.
Our wedding at Latrobe's was the most incredible night we could ask for. It was a 2 year and 7-month process and between a covid reschedule changes to our numbers, and the way Latrobe's operated things, it was nothing short of an amazing experience. Not just for the 2 of us, but for all our family and friends that came. It was memorable for everyone involved. Big thanks to Hana and Rylan who were there every step of the way. I am an out-of-state bride and they made this process as stress-free as possible for me! The ceremony was beautiful, the reception, the food was far better than we ever imagined. Would 10/10 recommend this to anyone considering a Nola wedding!
If I could give Latrobe’s on Royal a 100 stars I would! Words can’t express the gratitude I have for Rylan and team at Latrobe’s! Getting married on 8/28/2021 seemed impossible right down to the last minute. With a resurgence of Covid and new Nola mandates we lost a number of our guests but the team at LOR kept us informed on changes including drafting an email to send to our guests. If that wasn’t enough a storm started brewing the week of our wedding. This storm has now become known as Hurricane Ida. This is the strongest storm to hit Louisiana since Katrina. Rylan called as we checked in to Nola to prepare us for uncertainties and provided possible options. One option was to move our wedding from a 7pm start time to noon. With numerous vendors from Baton Rouge and New Orleans including our band, second line band, florist, cake, photographer and planner we thought this would be impossible. I was heartbroken with the thought that we may have to cancel. Rylan called at 5:30pm to share that she had gotten intouch with all of our vendors and if we wanted to move forward with a noon wedding it would be a go! LOR made the impossible happen and our wedding was more than I could have dreamed of! The staff was attentive and welcoming and although I worried for them and their families, they never rushed us or made our event feel like it wasn’t the most important event going on that day in New Orleans! Thank you Thank you Thank you! We were blessed to have all of you at LOR make our wedding a dream come true!!
Love,
Andie & Jason Hill
We were so glad we chose Latrobe's! We got engaged in 2020 during the lockdown, and we lived outside of New Orleans. We decided we didn’t want to wait for the pandemic to end to book our wedding and would swing from the fences for the 2021 date we wanted…hoping that the pandemic would allow it to go ahead! We booked Latrobe’s without first seeing it in person. When we did, we thought it was even more remarkable than it appeared in the photos.
Latrobe's had everything we wanted in a wedding venue. We were looking for a location in the French Quarter so it would be convenient and fun for our out-of-town guests. I wanted a historic building rather than a hotel or a generic event space. We also wanted a rustic, laid back vibe to match our personalities.
What immediately sold us was just how helpful Rylan, Millie and team were. We didn’t have a wedding planner nor our own connections to vendors in the area, so we trusted all of theirs – hiring everyone from their list. Every selection worked out perfectly! Rylan and Millie also took their time to get to know us as a couple. They were always quick to answer emails or hop on a call with us and remembered everything we shared. When a vendor was slow to respond to our email, Rylan texted them for us and got instant responses. We truly got a personalized, premium experience every step of the way. It’s all worth sharing that when I spoke to anyone in the wedding industry in New Orleans, they all knew Rylan and said how great she was, too!
The wedding went ahead without a flaw and – importantly – almost no stress, which is remarkable given we booked everything sight unseen. Our guests love the venue and the food, exclaiming how we selected the most amazing space! We are over the moon about how we had the wedding we always pictured!
My husband and I had our wedding at Latrobe’s this past December. Due to the city’s COVID restrictions at the time, our plans constantly changed up until the wedding day. I had envisioned my “perfect day” and was pretty bummed when I realized I couldn’t have it the way I had thought. I felt so much better after talking to the Latrobe’s ladies (Rylan, Hana, Millie), as they immediately had alternative options for us. We ended up splitting our contract with them and having a smaller, intimate wedding ceremony and dinner (55 people) and have a larger reception (one year anniversary party) planned for this upcoming December. In order for it to not feel like we were paying for two weddings, they were very flexible with us and customized our menu both at our wedding dinner (a seated more formal meal with 4 courses) and for our future party (more informal finger food) to fit exactly what we wanted and to help remain in our budget. What I also really loved about the experience is that the Ladies Latrobe let me be as hands-on as I wanted to be (I tend to have a type A personality and want to be involved in the planning process), but also knew where I was falling short and filled in the gaps. They act as day-of wedding coordinators, but are also involved in your entire wedding weekend and have so much advice to give from their years of experience; for example, I wouldn’t have thought to have housekeeping come at 6pm between leaving our hotel and coming back to make sure that it looked perfect upon arrival after the wedding. On the wedding day, my husband and I never had to ask for a drink (there was always a full glass waiting for us) and I could just relax and enjoy the experience. I ended up having the most perfect wedding day 12/12/20 and really could not have asked for anything better. We have our party scheduled later this year and I know it will be just as amazing but in a different way! Importantly, this time around, I’m also not stressed about the details since I now know from experience to just trust Latrobe’s to do their thing. Thank you Rylan, Millie, Hana!
Latrobe's is perfection! I highly recommend you consider Latrobe's on Royal as a venue. While the space itself is historic and beautiful, the service that the Latrobe's ladies provide is superb. Rylan, Milli, and Hana were amazing to work with and I always felt I was in good hands. We originally planned a 100+ person wedding, but ended up with a much more intimate seated dinner due to Covid. While the situation was stressful, the Latrobe's ladies were incredibly understanding and helpful. The reception was gorgeous and felt effortless, although I know Rylan was working diligently to make it all perfect in the background. The food was AMAZING, as many of my guest commented. Latrobe's was also a great help in the planning process as they helped me with timing issues and vendor suggestions. While I live in New Orleans, I would say Latrobe's would be an excellent venue for a destination wedding as they know the New Orleans wedding market better than anyone. In short, I am so very happy to have had my reception at Latrobe's on Royal and would recommend it to all brides looking for an all-inclusive, historic, elegant, and truly New Orleans wedding experience.
We were so excited to have our initially large, 200 person, wedding reception at Latrobe’s because this venue is stunning and completely embodies the aesthetic of New Orleans and the French Quarter. Then with COVID, we were required to make a lot of quick changes and re-planning to change to a 25 person event. I cannot overstate how appreciative we are to Latrobe’s and especially Rylan who worked so hard with us to replan to a COVID style reception and turning what was initially a stressful situation into a beautiful intimate celebration. Our guests were also equally impressed with how beautiful the space is as well as the food and drinks were incredible! It was truly an unforgettable evening and was such a special team effort between ourselves and everyone at Latrobe’s to still pull off our redesigned, but still completely perfect, reception - only hoping one day to have another excuse to go back to throw a big party at this fantastic venue!
If you're looking for a one-stop shop for your wedding, look no further! Latrobe's on Royal is where you want to have your dream New Orleans wedding. Here are a few reasons why I loved this venue for my wedding:
#1 – The building itself is gorgeous and requires little decor. You are also able to host both your ceremony and reception there, which I appreciated! One less thing to worry about!
#2 – Location! Location! Location! Latrobe's is in the heart of the French Quarter, and has tons of great nearby hotel options making it very convenient for your guests. The location is also awesome when it comes to the second line parade route.
#3 – The staff! They can help you plan your entire wedding from soup to nuts. Being an out-of-town bride, I found this extremely helpful! The Latrobe's team was able to provide recommendation on vendors and the flow of my wedding day, which took away a lot of the planning stress.
#4 – The food was actually good! Latrobe's has a wide variety in terms of their menu, and the food was fresh and delicious! I also appreciated their options in terms of a bar package too!
You cannot go wrong getting married here! Latrobe's embodies what it means to "have a New Orleans wedding!" Highly, highly recommend!
Gorgeous, stunning, romantic space for weddings. They made everything happen we needed them to. It's the best place in NOLA to get married. We looked at so many of them--this one gets the cake!
I cannot put into words how special the Ladies of Latrobe's made our wedding day. They worked with us for months, with the patience of true saints, to ensure our day was the best it could possibly be. It's hard to describe how magical the spaces in this building are, and the staff are responsive, professional and incredibly kind. The food was top-tier restaurant quality; you won't get rubber chicken and dry potatoes at Latrobe's! When we decided to have a destination wedding in New Orleans, we thought it would be difficult to plan. But Rylan, Milli and Hana made it so easy for us, providing invaluable advice along the way and making sure we had answers to every possible question. If the myriad 5-star reviews here don't say "choose Latrobe's!" then I don't know what will -- but you're crazy if you don't!!!
The Ladies of Latrobe's need a 10 star rating!! They know what they are doing. Heed all their advice and don't think you can do it better. They are the professionals, they KNOW, trust me. the food was amazing, the cocktails were flowing! The dance party was lit! Our guests were in awe of the beauty of the place and so impressed. We owe it all to them as our day was absolutely flawless and magical. We didn't use a wedding planner with Latrobe's because they more than prepare and help you get to your moment. When we do vow renewals, we are coming back ladies!
Where do we even begin? Latrobes helped us create magic on our wedding day. Rylan and Hana are an unbelievable team, always trying to see your vision and help complement it any way they can think of. I wanted to have fan dancers at our reception and Rylan suggested having the girls stand on podiums. It created such a New Orleans feel! They helped organize our tables to work with the flowers that we were trying to stay within budget on. They created a calm, serene environment for our ceremony. They coordinated all of our entertainment so that it was seamless. They let us have all the fun that we wanted! During the planning process, Rylan was trouble shooting far before we could even predict a potential problem. All our guests just loved the venue and the magic of being in the middle of the French quarter. Take our advice and book this place for your wedding! You will be beyond impressed and in the best of hands!
We can not say enough positive things about the staff at Latrobe's. Technically, our wedding was considered a destination wedding, although New Orleans is a second home to us! With that being said, Millie, Rylan, and Hanna (The Ladies' of Latrob'es) made planning from a distance easy. We initially contemplated getting a wedding planner, but after meeting with The Ladies we didn't see the need. The Ladies of Latrobe's provided us with a list of recommended vendors and we stuck to that list, after doing our own research of course, and we were not disappointed. Every vendor they recommended was spot on with our vision. Everything came together on the big day flawlessly! We felt like the King and Queen on our big day and honestly we didn't have to worry about a thing everything was taken care of and we just danced the night away. Our guests raved about the warm hospitality and delicious food served at our venue. We have been told on several occassions that our wedding was like no other, and we have the Ladie's of Latrobe's to thank for that!
My new husband and I had a great experience working with Latrobe's.
I did not have a wedding planner, but the ladies were able to help me with details, coordination of rehearsal, and much more. They gave us a timeline to stick to, were organized and responsive, and very friendly. We had several in-person meetings before the big day. They know what they're doing- trust their expertise!
The venue itself is amazing. You really don't have to decorate it much, as it is so beautiful on it's own. We received MANY compliments about the space on our wedding night. Not to mention, the Latrobe's team was there the entire time tending to your needs and making sure everything ran smoothly. We wanted a true New Orleans wedding and that is exactly what we got.
Thank you Hana, Milli and Rylan!
We are beyond thankful for our wedding experience at Latrobe's. My husband and i live in Dallas, TX and we flew to New Orleans with 12 venue appointments booked in a row. Latrobe's was No. 11 on that list and when we walked into the space, we both immediately knew this was the right choice. The location is in the heart of the French Quarter, and as we had a high percentage of out of town guests, we wanted to be somewhere people could get a true flavor of Nola and be in a convenient area to walk. Latrobe's is just so well set up and our wedding had a perfect "flow." Guests commented on the beautiful building, how they appreciated moving from entry way to ceremony space to reception room (I was told their was an audible "gasp" when they opened the reception doors and moved into the ballroom space), to the Second Line exit. The service was impeccable and the food / drink excellent. The Latrobe's team is also very selective on their vendors . I appreciated that because given the other high reviews, I knew their vendors had to also be good so we just stuck to their list when wedding planning and it alleviated a LOT of stress. Their vendors have all worked together and with Latrobe's so many times that they have an excellent rhythm going on and everything went smoothly. We also appreciated how they had an attendant for us, for our parents, how they made sure we ate before we joined the reception - all these little touches made for a perfect night. They were also invaluable in providing input with other areas of our wedding like photos, timing, etc. Many venues basically just provide the bricks and mortar but with Latrobe's, you had a de facto wedding planner with their team (although we highly recommend Girls in Black for actual wedding planning too). We had a Buddhist ceremony - a first for their team - and they were great working with us on the altar table and understanding the nuances of a new tradition. All in all, a great decision to have a wedding at Latrobe's.
We could not have picked a better venue for both our ceremony and reception! The staff, particularly Rylan and Milli, are top notch!! During the event, the groom, myself, and our immediate families were well taken care of and never had an empty glass in hand! The historical aspect of the venue has so much character that captures the city of New Orleans perfectly! The food was also a major selling point for us and our guests are still raving about how good it was! I can not say enough good things about Rylan and Milli! They are both so professional and made sure our wedding ran smoothly without a hitch! Rylan made sure that everyone was informed about when and where they were supposed to be. You will not be disappointed in choosing Latrobe's for your wedding venue!
The Ladies Latrobe are wonderful!! Our wedding was absolutely perfect. If you’re doing your wedding without a planner, then this venue is a no-brainer. They helped me every step of the way and were so attentive on the actual day. They even helped my family carry off our things at the end of the night! Stunning location for both reception and ceremony. Our guests say this was the best wedding they’ve ever been to, and I have the Ladies Latrobe to thank!
I was reluctant to find Latrobe's on the Knot. Both my husband and I wanted to have our reception hosted at a beautiful place that can also represent the special city New Orleans is known to be. After checking our options in New Orleans and shopping with various reception vendors from hotels to local historic buildings we made the right decision once we came to Latrobes. After reading the reviews and also checking other options, we knew our top criteria for reception was service, quality of food, and an assortment of liquor options. Once we arrange our first meeting with the Ladies of Latrobes, we immediately felt relieve to find a team that is able to provide what we need. The building itself is a national landmark. Advise all couples to do thorough research but the search ends here if you want top notch service with people who will take care of you like you're their own. I love Ladies at Latrobes. I am already thinking of my 10 year anniversary and I am keeping Latrobes in mind!
We could not have asked for a better venue than Latrobe's. All of our friends have said, "Weddings are now ruined for us." As in, this was the best of the best. They made sure everything ran smoothly from beginning to end, no one had to worry about anything. They worked so well with all the other vendors and were incredibly kind and courteous to all of our guests. Honestly, working with Rylan and Milli was all business, and in the end, our wedding and reception was like a well oiled machine. Our cups stayed full all night long, as did our bellies. This was a night we will never forget and we can't thank Latrobe's enough. You would be wise not to pass on them.
The venue is ideal, the staff superb, it is the absolute perfect venue in the French Quarter. Their policies are harsh and expensive- the only reason I didn't give them 5 out of 5. They stress how flexible they are, but wouldn't upgrade our package when we came in under their minimum guest count (we were happy to pay their high minimum dollar amount!).
Response from the Vendor on 05/09/2018
Hi & thank you so much for your feedback; we are so excited that you & your guests were pleased with all that we have to offer! And, while we are thrilled with all of your sweet compliments, we do feel badly that there seems to be some misunde...
rstanding regarding the contract minimum policy. Please let us take a moment to help clarify any confusion regarding those minimum guarantees. While our packages are 100% customizable & you are not limited in menu possibilities, beverage item options, duration of event, event plan & more, it isn't fair to compare all of that flexibility with the actual contract minimum. We do honor every part of our contract & have a good faith expectation that our clients to do the same. Planning a wonderful life event has to be a team effort & a two-way street. Contract minimums are in place for any event that we book since once the date is secured, we are turning away other, potentially larger or higher price point events & are happy to do so because of those minimum guarantees. With a limited number of dates to offer, we have to be firm on contract minimums in order to stay in business & maintain a 200-year-old, purple rated, historic national landmark. The reason we always offer clients ample time to review their booking paperwork is so they can ask us any questions prior to signing anything & address any concerns at that time as well. We understand that these types of conversations happen early on, and as such they can get reinterpreted when the guest count, event plan & logistics are finalized on the client side. It is unfortunate when something changes on only the client side of the agreement. Our side of the contract, however, still needs to be in place & all of our guarantees to you must & should be fulfilled.
While it may seem that a contracted minimum should have extra funds due to a lack of guests, that is sadly not the case. Any upgrade that you request then comes at an additional cost on our end & needs to be pass that along to the client, however, when we can offer something at a discount or complementary, we certainly do. There are fixed costs to producing each event & those don't decrease due to a lack of guaranteed guests in attendance. We very much understand that nobody wants to hear all of that, but we believe in full transparency & are very honest with our booked & potential clients. Again, we couldn't be more ecstatic that everyone who attended your event left with wonderful memories & having had a fantastic time. We certainly pour our hearts & souls into every Celebration and are disappointed that you are left with any negative feelings about our policies. We hope this helps clarify it a little further, but by all means, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.
BEST VENUE IN NEW ORLEANS
I held my wedding at Latrobe's on Royal on November 18, 2017. Every expectation I had was not only met, but was exceeded. Milli and Rylan were both extremely responsive to every question or concern that I had and made sure that I felt secure every step of the way. I am from New York and my husband is from Miami. We were both a little nervous about the New Orleans style wedding. With that said, it was the best decision I could have made. My guests who are typically used to a sit down/plated event, loved the flow of a reception style wedding and danced the night away. The location of the venue is perfect, the New Orleans charm of the historic building is very romantic, and the food is better than any New Orleans restaurant. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. If you are looking for the best venue in New Orleans, Latrobe's on Royal is the answer.
They organized and made sure the whole wedding ran smoothly. They handled EVERYTHING. Not to mention the building is gorgeous. I really owe everything to these ladies, Rylan and Milli were amazing and delivered such a perfect wedding for us. I’m forever greatly for their hard work
Beautiful reception venue with minimal decor! Great place for a party. Rylan was awesome with last minute trouble shooting and wedding dress hiccups! Great choice
Where do I even begin? I'll start by saying, brides and grooms: if you're deciding on where to have your wedding venue... Latrobe's on Royal is the best decision you could ever make. It's been exactly one month since the big day, and we are still receiving calls and texts about how amazing our wedding was, how amazing Latrobe's was, the FOOD, the venue, the service, the experience. That's what having your wedding at Latrobe's is.. an EXPERIENCE! It's an experience your guests will remember, and a beautiful wedding memory you'll cherish for the rest of your lives.
It's a beautiful building that doesn't require much else in terms of decorations. Seriously, we kept the flowers to a minimum because in our opinion it was unnecessary. The venue alone is gorgeous, and choosing Latrobe's candle package for our tables added such a romantic vibe.. it was all perfect.
But most importantly, you'll appreciate and enjoy working with Milli and Rylan. They are so so passionate about what they do and they are so hard working, and organized – yet they are warm and attentive. They truly listened to us about some of our visions, and took it from there to make it a reality. They made sure we had the most memorable wedding we could've ever imagined.
I was a destination bride from NYC, and it never felt like I was out of the loop. They take their time to chat with you about all the details, on the phone, via e-mail, and a taste session at the venue prior to your wedding.
As for the wedding day itself, they TAKE CARE OF YOU. I felt like a queen!! And my husband, parents and in-laws all felt the same way. We held our ceremony offsite, and our reception at Latrobe's. As soon as we arrived for the reception, our guests were greeted by amazing staff with drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
Milli and Rylan and staff took such good care of my husband and I, our parents, and the wedding party. We were never without a drink if we wanted, we were fed (because you'll be so busy you'll forget to eat), and lovingly reminded that they were there for us throughout the whole night.
Just to give one example of their awesomeness, I totally forgot my garter when leaving the hotel! I told Milli and Rylan, and they quickly improvised, took me in the back, found some lace and fashion tape and there it was... the cutest garter! It was amazing!! They kept my spirits up the whole time, and now it's just a fun story to tell about my garter.
And truly, every staff person is amazing. My guests commented on the amazing service, and they seriously can't stop talking about how delicious the food was. A month later!
If you're looking for "an experience" for your wedding, and an amazing service from experts like Milli and Rylan, I cannot recommend Latrobe's on Royal enough. It was the best decision and I feel so lucky to have had such a memorable wedding there.
Pick Latrobe's! It was the best decision we made! Rylan and the whole team of staff made our wedding run so smoothly and so many guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere is a perfect combination of romantic/historic/fun! Make sure you plan for a second line parade to end the night :)
I fell in love with this venue from the first time I visited and never looked back. The building is beautiful and has so much character that it does not require excessive decor. The venue is one of the few in the heart of the French Quarter that can comfortably accommodate 300 guests. Their staff is extremely professional and knowledgeable about other local vendors. While we also hired a wonderful wedding planner, their support team would allow for a perfect event even without one. The food was DELICIOUS and our wedding reception was everything we had hoped for and more.
We had our ceremony and reception at Latrobe’s last May, and couldn’t have been happier! It was the perfect location—the staff were so helpful during the planning process and facilitated everything on the day of. The space is beautiful and historic, and really lent itself to both parts of the wedding. The food is AMAZING, we got so many compliments! Most importantly, the day of our wedding was totally smooth and stress-free (even without a wedding planner) due to the hard work and assistance of Rylan and her team. We really can’t recommend this venue highly enough!!!!
Everything was absolutely perfect and I wish I could relive the day over and over again. Latrobe's is not only the most gorgeous, unique, historical venue, but it also hits all of the other categories out of the park - food, ambience, helpfulness, attentiveness, one-on-one experience. Rylan and Milli made the process so seamless, especially considering I was planning from out of state. They take such pride in their work and in the venue, and it shows. Everyone's jaws dropped as soon as they entered the wedding. We had an amazing evening and I hope we can have a 10 year anniversary bash at Latrobe's!!!
From the minute we walked into the venue, it took our breath away. The venue is absolutely stunning in the candlelight, and it has a historic New Orleans charm that makes it unique. As soon as we booked, Latrobe's made wedding planning easy, and their expertise in the New Orleans wedding industry was invaluable throughout the process. They gave us a packet of all the information we needed to start planning, including a list of recommended vendors for everything. Any vendor we chose that wasn't on the list, we had to get approved. For the most part, this wasn't an issue with the exception of our band. We booked our band from out of town, and they were a little fussy about that. It worked out in the end, though, because the band was amazing! Rylan and Jesse were so helpful and really helped to make sure that the day was about us. We didn't even get a wedding planner because they were already so knowledgeable, and we felt like they were enough. The actual wedding was so beautiful, and everything went off without a hitch. The food was DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! I am a picky eater, and they were very accommodating. They even got me my own pizza! I want to be a guest at a Latrobe's wedding so I can just sit and eat the food all night like some of our guests did. We ran out of money toward the end and decided to cut the cheese fry station we wanted. I was so sad, but in the middle of our wedding, they surprised us with A CHEESE FRY STATION. It was the best thing ever!! Our wedding was amazing. Latrobe's was beautiful, and we are already planning to have a 10 year anniversary party at the same spot. It was THAT good!
Latrobe's is the perfect venue for a wedding reception!!! The location is great (especially if you have out of town guests who want to explore the french quarter) the inside is absolutely gorgeous, the service was awesome, and the food was AMAZING!
Beautiful venue, it is so perfect that you really don't need much else to make it look elegant. Food was delicious! (and yes I actually got to eat, they see to it that you are well taken care of)
When I started the process of looking for a venue, I immediately googled "unique wedding venues in New Orleans" and that is how I came across Latrobe's. If you want something that is special and doesn't feel like a wedding factory then this is your place. The different rooms, the ambiance, and the building itself feels so New Orleans as well that if you are having a destination wedding this becomes a real treat for everyone from out of town. We got married a couple of weeks ago and people have already booked return flights to New Orleans for next year as they became hooked saying things such as they said that they thought they were a part of an amazing movie instead of attending a wedding.
The food was really amazing. Shrimp and Grits, the Brie and the tuna app being my personal favorites. The previous comments about the venue not getting back to emails quickly was a little accurate in the beginning of the correspondence, but once we got down there we saw how many events happen that weekend and we thought wow we understand now. When it came closer to the wedding though, I felt that they were very accessible and they stood true to the promised times on the phone for conference calls and were very accommodating for our tasting as well. At the tasting they were also incredibly organized and thorough with the timeline of the day and going over vendors we had hired. The suggestions they had during the tasting were actually very needed and useful and helpful as well.
All in all, it was a beautiful wedding. A wedding where everyone came up to me and said " this is hands down the best wedding we have ever been to". Even my dad, who wanted a more conservative country club wedding at home, was overhead saying "this is worth every penny". I am not going to pretend like a lot of that didnt come from using a lot of my spare time to create the wedding, it was still a lot of work, but the venue for sure contributed a huge part to it. It is simply gorgeous inside, please at least visit it if you are thinking of places down there so you don't miss it.
WOW. I don't know where to begin. This review may be several months late, but I can't resist writing it because it was THAT magical to be celebrating at Latrobe's. There is NO better spot in NOLA. From the get go, this venue had my heart. I was super demanding and ridiculous during my planning and cannot count how many emails and phone calls I had to them, but they took my OCD attitude like a champ and totally surpassed all expectations. The venue is so well laid out (don't second guess it being a few rooms rather than one large one!!!), and all my skepticism was put to shame when I walked into the main room on my big day. It was truly magical. Rylan, Jessie, and the team at Latobe's killed it to say the least. Every single aspect was perfect to a T. I cannot say enough about how many people raved over our venue. We chose to get married in a church and bus to the reception, and it was truly the best thing ever to walk into a giant room of love with our closest people. They had a personal waitress for the bride, groom, and parents who walked around and ensured our champagne was filled to the brim all night long. The food was to die for, the staff was so professional and on point, and our dreams truly came true last December 12th. I would choose them all over again in a heartbeat. This venue was classic, authentic, antique, dreamy, and truly glorious. We did an oyster bar and it was phenomenal - highly recommended! The team at Latrobe's was so responsive to my hundreds of emails and details, and they got it all perfect without a glitch. I was petrified as a destination bride thinking "how will all this ever come together", but it DID, flawlessly, thanks to them. They worked so seamlessly with my vendors and had it all just the way I ever imagined and more. Thank you SO VERY MUCH, Latrobe's ladies - y'all killed it! Brides, hire these people!
This is the place to get married if you want all your wedding dreams to come true. I will never be able to say enough about this beautiful venue and the beyond amazing people who made our wedding spectacular. Milli and Rylan helped us every step along the way. At Latrobe's you're not just getting a location you're really getting the support and guidance of people who know what they're doing. I am amazed at how much they helped us and how special they made us feel from beginning to end. We kept asking ourselves, is this real? Rylan prepared us completely beforehand so we felt completely secure that everything would be perfect when we walked through the doors, and it was. Rylan did everything from greeting guests, to dancing to get our group from Connecticut ready to Second Line out, we couldn't have asked or hoped for more. There is without a doubt no better place to get married.
Milly & Rylan and their team at Latrobe's were FANTASTIC!!! They were so easy to work with and felt like long-time friends. Every detail was carefully planned & attended to. They made our day extremely special, right down to the specialty cocktails! This was a destination wedding for us, and they provided us with a Vendor list, which made picking vendors seamless. Everyone they recommended was great to work with and we were very happy. The food was unbelievable, and we have a pretty high standard when it comes to food. The space itself is so beautiful & romantic. The pictures do not do it justice. If Latrobe's is available, don't hesitate, book your wedding here!
Rylan and the whole team at Latrobe's were excellent from the beginning of our planning to our wedding day. Many guests commented on the unique space and amazing food. The team ensured that we didn't have to lift a finger the day of the wedding. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue. It was truly an amazing experience! If you're searching for a place to host your dream wedding then Latrobe's is the place!
We are from Texas, so we began exploring venues about one year ago. Latrobe's immediately struck our fancy. The old building is beautiful! Little did we know at that time how helpful Rylan, Milli, and the staff at Latrobe's would be. They provided tons of advice, from vendor suggestions to timelines, and our wedding was perfect! The candlelight in the historic building glowed warmly as our guests arrived for the ceremony then moved into the main building to enjoy delicious, al dente pasta and tender cajun fried turkey (and the open bar) There was plenty of help during the planning stages and during the wedding itself. Our guests had the time of their lives, and the bride and groom were blissfully happy.
I just can't say enough great things about Latrobe's! Everything was absolutely perfect - it's beautiful, the food is amazing, and Rylan and the staff take SUCH great care of you! As the mother of the bride, I was so very happy that once we got there on the big day, I didn't have to lift a finger or worry for a second that something wouldn't 'get done.' And wonderful Aquilah was assigned as the family's 'personal assistant' - she was constantly checking to make sure we had whatever we wanted/needed, bringing us champagne for the toast, offering flip flops (!), etc. I just cannot rave enough.
This venue is absolutely magical - the design is breathtaking and perfect for an intimate New Orleans french quarter wedding. The perfect backdrop for a romantic, sexy, sophisticated night. They work exclusively with Besh Catering so the food was also absolutely amazing. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious the food was and how many options there were to choose from. We are big foodies and so are our friends so that was really important for us when making our venue selection. The service on the night was also stellar - it was very easy for people to order drinks without having to wait, and the servers were going around constantly handing out the passed appetizers. We even had our own bride & groom's attendant who made sure we ate, always had a fresh drink in hand, and checked in to see if there was anything they could do for us all night. The night itself was executed perfectly and we had an absolute blast. It's an expensive venue, but I do believe you get what you pay for. My only constructive criticism would be in the planning process. In today's professional world, it really is expected to have a quick response time to emails. They do mention that they devote their time heavily the week of for each event...meaning if it isnt the week of you're wedding they might not respond to inquiries quickly. It is nice that they give you this heads up, but really it shouldn't take several days/weeks and several follow ups to get answers to a few simple questions. In addition, the people there are very experienced because they host so many events, but I felt that sometimes it came across as being a little too opinionated about how my wedding should be run. I appreciate their input of what has worked well for past events, but the way it was communicated...it came across as your wedding SHOULD be done this way, rather than "you should consider this because"...
Fortunately, I had a wedding planner, so these two things didnt impact my experience too much.
Having our wedding at Latrobe's was one of the best decisions we have ever made. First of all, it is visually stunning and unique. It also has so much history and interesting corners and documents on the wall to explore for your guests. Second, and possibly most importantly, the staff is absolutely incredible. Rylan, Jessie, and Milli will make your life so easy. They are responsive all the time, they know everything there is to know about the venue and give honest feedback to your questions. They also know vendors very well and for a couple planning our wedding from out of town, their advice was so integral to the whole process. They gave us such peace of mind that I can't imagine planning and hosting the wedding without them.
The food is also AMAZING. Our guests all said it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. And the service is unbelievably good. My parents were hugging staff on their way out the door they loved it so much.
They know what they're doing, and they do everything well. You can't go wrong here.
As the mother of the bride and major planner for the wedding, I highly recommend Latrobe's on Royal. The venue itself has soul. It is rich in tradition. One thing we all appreciated is that there are several rooms, each with a purpose, so that guests can find a place to visit with each other if they don't want to hear the music and/or dance. There was plenty of space for family photos, a photo booth, the cake, an ice cream/cookie bar, bars themselves. The circular room for the band/dancing is large enough to accommodate the band, dancers, tables, but is intimate enough to create a fun atmosphere. The food tables were located close by the band. Speaking of the food, several guests told us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. We had many choices for menu items, but I don't think we could've gone wrong with anything. The service was amazing. I will never forget entering from the second line and seeing waiters with trays of drinks lining the entrance, so welcoming to our guests. Rylan, the manager, is first rate. She kept checking on me all night to see if I needed a drink or water or anything. She was totally hands on--nothing was left to chance. We accidentally left the wedding gown there that night (my daughter had changed into a reception dress). The next day, on a Sunday, Rylan delivered the dress to me at the Monteleone with a smile on her face. Throughout the planning and the tasting, Rylan guided us through the entire experience. We were totally
pleased at the end and felt we had made the perfect choice for a venue.
If you're considering booking at Latrobe's, don't second guess yourself. JUST DO IT. You will not be disappointed. Jessie and Rylan were so helpful through our entire planning process. One of the most helpful things was the 'preferred vendor list' they provided upon booking. We booked everything off of their list: our photographer, band, flowers, ceremony musician, and candles. It made wedding planning so easy! The second we walked into Latrobe's on our wedding night felt like a dream. The venue is so old New Orleans with the perfect french quarter charm. The building without decor is so gorgeous, but oh my goodness when it's lit with candlelight and roses it is just so incredibly romantic. Not to mention the FOOD. Every single dish was to die for. We got so many compliments from our guests about how perfect our wedding was and how delicious the food was. Everyone warned me to be prepared if anything went wrong on my wedding day... but NOTHING went wrong. It was perfect. Latrobe's was perfect. My husband and I even spent the next night after our wedding walking around the french quarter. We stood across the street staring at Latrobe's, overwhelmed with emotions from the night before and even let out a few tears of joy. Latrobe's now has such a special place in our hearts. If you want a fairytale wedding, book Latrobe's!
The most important and best decision that we made about our wedding was choosing Latrobe's for our ceremony and reception. The venue is stunningly beautiful and really gives guests the feel of authentic New Orleans. It was so nice to have everything inside in a climate-controled space that allowed us all to relax and not worry about what would happen if it rained, or was too hot. That peace of mind was worth more than we can say.
From the moment we booked the space, Jessie and Rylan and their staff took care of all of the heavy lifting. They made well-informed and thoughtful suggestions about their favorite vendors (who became our favorite as well.) During the planning they were both attentive to our specific needs and requests and invaluable with their knowledge and expertise regarding timing, flow and the myriad other details which led to the success of our wedding. They treated us all with respect and patience, and guided us towards decisions which both fulfilled our vision and worked within the framework of their experience.
The night of the wedding, Jessie and Rylan felt more like friends and guests than "coordinators," while still kicking butt and doing their jobs to the utmost effect. The entire event ran like clockwork and if there was a problem or issue, we certainly had no idea. We were able to relax and have a crazy good time at our own wedding (how often do people - especially the bride - get to say that?!) knowing that we were in the most capable hands.
The John Besh food was outstanding and plentiful. Most of our guests were out-of-towners so it was important to us that they had the opportunity to enjoy the particular culinary ouevre which is New Orleans cuisine. Months later we are still hearing rave reviews of the food. The fried oyster appetizers and the brisket, the bread pudding and the artichoke cheesecakes were all crowd favorites. We, of course, didn't eat a thing at the wedding (we were too busy dancing up a storm!), but when we arrived at our hotel at the end of the night, our wedding planners (the incomparable Girls in Black, a Latrobe's recommendation) had delivered a huge assortment of all of the food packed up in take-out containers! It was a perfect way to end our wedding night; sitting in bed, eating the wonderful food, and reliving what was truly the best day of our lives.
Latrobe's on Royal is amazing. In fact, we can't say enough about how incredible our halloween wedding reception was. Every stage of the process went smoothly and was executed with ease. Milli, Rylan, Jessie and team know what they're doing. The space is absolutely incredible and the Besh Group's cuisine is amazing. Our guests had the most amazing time. Do yourself a favor and book Latrobe's NOW!
