Absolutely gorgeous location! It was perfect for our wedding of about 55 as a cozy winter wedding. We mainly worked with Jessie and he was above and beyond helpful, we wished he could have joined us! I definitely recommend as a bride who had no experience and no idea what I was doing.
Laurel Hall is such a beautiful and unique venue. It is truly a hidden gem in the Indy area! The layout of the venue provides plenty of options for your perfect day, not to mention plenty of weather contingency plans and gorgeous photo opportunities! My husband and I are so thankful we chose Laurel Hall for our wedding, and we would highly recommend it for your wedding or event!
Laurel Hall was the first venue my husband and I looked at, and we fell in love instantly. I wouldn’t have wanted any other venue! Every single room made me feel like I was a princess and like I was in my own fairy tale. The staff were so easy to communicate with and they helped everything go so smoothly. Don’t look any further! Laurel Hall is the perfect venue and you’ll feel amazing all day long.
LOOK NO FURTHER: Laurel Hall was one of six places we looked at in late fall 2020 for our June 2021 wedding. With only ONE Saturday date open, we didn’t hesitate to book. We set up a tour and fell in love with the character and charm. From the grand entrance lobby to the light and airy dining room. The wooden staircase captures all the elegance you’ll ever need. They had a stunningly beautiful bridal suite on the second floor and a fabulous library room for the groomsmen. The solarium was where we had our first dance. The outdoor space is so spacious and fit our 120 guests comfortably with room to spare.
Inga and Lindsay were so easy going and responsive via email. They answered all my questions even up until the day of the wedding. Laurel Hall was right in the middle on pricing for venues in Indy, which was so perfect for us. The day of the wedding we coordinated with the maintenance manager to make sure everything was in order. Everything went so smooth! We decided to do our ceremony outdoor as it was a beautiful summer night. (The backup option was the third floor chapel which is breathtaking.. would have been thrilled to have our ceremony up there).
The venue doesn’t even have to be decorated like a typical wedding, it decorates itself! We were so impressed start to finish with the entire process. I don’t think we have any thing at all negative to say about them. Hands down recommend your dream wedding at this hidden gem estate!
The venue itself is gorgeous and allows one to not have to add so much decoration necessarily since it is already a nice venue. The staff the day-of was prompt and helpful amidst the hustle and bustle of the actual wedding. Sometimes, though, personnel at this venue are hard to get ahold of or get a timely reply from. But once they do receive your message, they're quite helpful & explained answers to all my questions. The location is huge and provides room & function for a number of events or a plethora of guests, though we had under 100.
Laurel Hall is a beautiful castle on a hill. It is elegant, unique, private, and overall the perfect setting for your special day.
The venue has so much to offer between the various rooms/spaces inside and the amazing outdoor scenery. You don't need too much in the way of decorations, as the architecture truly holds its own.
The staff at the venue are also extremely helpful, and always willing to assist however you need. On the night of our wedding, my husband and I felt like the King and Queen of the castle, as everyone there pulled out all the stops to ensure everything was exactly as we wanted.
I also think the venue is still a hidden gem in Indy. If you want a unique and unexpected venue, that makes you feel like royalty, and that your guests will truly enjoy, check out Laurel Hall!
We loved having our wedding at Laurel Hall. It is just beautiful, and we received many compliments on the venue we chose. My biggest worry is that people wouldn't dance in the Solarium since it was a different space than the dining area, but it wasn't an issue at all! We did have a minor snafus with the pin code for the gate not working for our rehearsal date, but it was fixed for the wedding day. I would keep in mind that you will have to work with one of the approved caterers which is more work than if you go with a hotel or event location with catering, and this wound up being the hardest item to plan and took much more time than expected, but overall I was still happy that we had our wedding in such a beautiful place as Laurel Hall. One other small note about the venue is that the chapel is not easily handicap accessible and there is no elevator. We didn't have an issue with this, but people with older relatives who don't move well should keep this in mind.
Such an amazing venue. Everything is so beautiful you only need minimum decorating. The staff is so accommodating. I would 100% recommend hiring their planner. She was amazing! She handled everything no questions asked.
Laurel Hall is as magical, if not more, as it looks in pictures. It's been almost two months since our wedding and our family and friends are still raving about how perfect it was. When you drive up the long, curving, emerald driveway you're swept away to another world. The regal building has a stunning backdrop at every turn, and also facilitates a wonderful reception that allows people to dance, mingle, or relax in the various rooms. I still cannot get over the lush, enchanting feel of the grounds. It really felt like I was in a dream. Inga is a wonderful coordinator who is more than willing to help you. The opportunity to pick from a list of caterers also helps the bride and groom drive the cost and feel of the event. I really cannot recommend this venue enough. It was utter perfection. Pro Tip: consider having your ceremony on the terrace. We ended up doing that due to torrential downpours hours before the wedding and it really was the best of both worlds--the gorgeous intricate architecture of the hall nestled in the wild, green garden. Love!!
It was such a beautiful place to be married!
We got married at Laurel Hall on 11/11/17 and it was beyond perfect. The only issue we had was the limited time we got, it would have been great to get some time to get pictures earlier in the day. Besides that, the venue is straight out of a fairy tale. The beauty of Laurel Hall is that it needs little decor, the place itself is full of grandeur for a great price!
This place was a DREAM! So beautiful. So romantic. So classic. I couldn't imagine a more lovely venue, with a more lovely staff.
This beautiful mansion will sweep you away and make you feel like you're getting married in Europe. We had our reception here and it was the perfect space for our wedding. You get the entire ground floor of the manor for all the festivities and access to the terrace and backyard. We had kids at our wedding so we provided large bubble wands for them to play with outside and it was great! I wanted a Disney Princess/Belle wedding feel and it was the perfect atmosphere. The staff is professional, and they provide a security guard and a staff member on site to help you and your guests! One important thing to note about this venue: Only pick this venue if you anticipate having 120 guests or less. The space is huge, but it's split up into several smaller rooms, so if you're imagining a ballroom - it's not like that at all. There was a specific room for the bar/cocktail area, dance floor, foyer, & dining room. The bride and groom also get their own personal spaces for themselves and their attendants. The bridal suite in particular is BEAUTIFUL with complete with a bed, full spacious bathroom and shower (I don't think they let you actually spend the night, but it makes for great photos!) We had 95 people at our wedding and we fit in the dining area in an intimate and cozy way which was nice... however if we had added 50 more guests it would have been very crowded.
I was extremely excited to tour the venue and set up an appointment, however the event planner had forgotten about my tour and was not present. I rang the bell, called the main number, and emailed the planner saying I was present, however no one responded. Very disappointed in their lack of professionalism, especially since I do not live near the venue. I would have loved to tour and potentially host my wedding there.
When I began my search for wedding venues, I knew I wanted a place that felt intimate, warm, elegant and unique. Laurel Hall embodied all of these qualities perfectly.
On my initial tour of Laurel Hall, I was blown away by its beauty. The entrance was grand, its beautifully maintained interior is classic, and the chapel took my breath away. Laurel Hall provided countless backdrops for beautiful photographs throughout the day. Our guests mentioned many times that Laurel Hall was a hidden gem in Indianapolis, and had no idea something so unique existed here. Due to Laurel Hall’s ornate beauty, we only needed to add florals and votives to complete our wedding day décor.
During the evening, we enjoyed all of the spacious ground level rooms both indoors and outdoors. Our guests had a lovely cocktail hour enjoying the grounds on the back patio. We had an amazing dinner inside the conference room, and danced the night away in the solarium.
The staff at Laurel Hall completed our wonderful wedding experience. Each representative we worked with was friendly, accommodating, prompt, thoughtful, and flexible. We would highly recommend Laurel Hall as your wedding day venue!
Great pricing and beautiful venue.
To say that Laurel Hall is breath taking, is an understatement. To say that their staff is amazingly helpful is one too. Everything was just was perfect, I couldn't ask for more of a picturesque location. I felt like we were getting married in the mansion from Beauty and the Beast. Their caterer, Hoaglin's, was to die for. It's not a negative, but the only thing to keep in mind, is that there is limited parking and a gate code. So remember to include your gatecode somewhere in your invitation and to avoid emailing/texting everyone on your guest list about it like I had to do. I also just told everyone to uber, carpool, taxi, especially if they are drinking and it did seem to help. Again, it's not a negative, but the gatecode issue leaves your mind once your brain sees this venue. Laurel Hall's beauty made me forget to give our get-away car driver the gatecode! hahaha.
Laurel Hall was the perfect wedding venue for our romantic and elegant themed wedding. It was a beautiful day, so we were able to enjoy the gorgeous terrace along with the rest of the venue. Our guests were amazing at the beauty of the old mansion. I would suggest they invest in a good sound system as it was difficult to hear announcements in all the rooms. We missed quite a bit of things because we could not hear them being announced.
Laurel Hall provided a gorgeous background for our dream wedding! We held our ceremony in the chapel upstairs, got ready in bridal suite and partied downstairs- never had to leave the venue for any reason throughout the day. There are outdoor sites at the hall as well but we loved the chapel. Intimate and gorgeous and perfect for our 75 guest wedding.
The only downside was not having a "day of" planner like a lot of venues do. We had someone there supervising but we were running our own show which was a lot. But it all turned out fabulously for the price and they had the lovely chevari chairs I wanted with no extra rental fee! :)
What a perfect venue! Holly was so helpful and made sure we had a perfect wedding. The getting ready rooms are so beautiful and unique. There are no shortage of beautiful places where you can take photos. It feels like a fairy tale.
Great venue. Beautiful facility. But all you are paying for is use of their grounds/building. You have to choose a separate caterer. So no one from Laurel Hall really does much for you. They are also quite strict about the time frame that you and vendors can be there for your wedding, which made it difficult for photos prior to the ceremony. Overall though beautiful place and convenient for having ceremony and reception in same place.
We spent a long time searching for the perfect wedding venue for our wedding. We wanted something that had a vintage, romantic feel, and this venue had the perfect intimate feel that we wanted. Stephanie was excellent to work with, responding to my emails quickly and throughly with any questions that I had. We had our ceremony on the half circle at the back of the house at the bottom of the steps. It was perfect, and many guests told me that it was the most beautiful wedding ceremony they had attended. We had 140 people attend for dinner and dancing after, and it was so convenient that they didn't have to drive to another location, and could just start the cocktail hour from there. DEFINITELY go with Mills Catering if you choose this venue- Jessie is amazingly helpful and knowledgable. He did more than I ever expected a caterer to do for us! The venue was perfect, because the room for dancing is smaller, making the dance floor always seems packed, while still allowing others to explore the house and grounds during the reception as they please. It was a beautiful night, so we opened the windows and many guests sat and talked on the terrace and solarium, which were both gorgeous at night with the candles we placed everywhere. I have no complaints about this venue- yes it was pricey, but we got the venue Friday to decorate and for the rehearsal and Saturday. The only thing I would have liked was if we were able to come into the hall before 3:30 on Saturday; since we weren't allowed in earlier, it made for lots of rushing once we got there to get dressed and started. Take a tour, and I promise if you are wanting a vintage, Gastby-esque, classy but not overstated venue, you will fall in love. It decorated itself with all of the intricate detail!
We were so pleased with everything at Laurel Hall. Our guests could not get over how beautiful it was! We loved that we could do both the ceremony and reception in one place so our guests did not have to travel. You should be aware that if you choose to do your ceremony in the chapel on the third floor, there is no elevator. Stephanie was a pleasure to work with and was a great resource for how our event should flow. While it is a bit on the pricy side, it is worth every penny.
Laurel Hall was the perfect place for our wedding last Spring. Our ceremony was outdoors, off the back terrace and lawn. It was so convenient to have the reception at the same location. Cocktails were on the terrace, then dinner moved inside and dancing followed. It was wonderful to allow guests the option of gathering on the dance floor in one room, relaxing in Solarium with a cocktail, or enjoying the evening outside on the terrace. Beautiful grounds and Hall, guests were impressed by the venue. It was the most expensive venue we looked at in Indianapolis, but well worth the cost for the perfect wedding setting.
This place was amazing, from the privacy right down to the space we had available to us to get ready before hand. The only downfall was the gate and getting guest into the wedding.
My husband and I are very happy that we chose to hold our wedding and reception at Laurel Hall. We had approx. 70 guests, and the venue was perfect. We received many compliments on how beautiful the venue was. Very intimate and beautiful!
I always picture myself getting married at place like Laurel Hall. It is a hidden gem on the Northeast side of Indianapolis. The vintage and romantic feel made for the perfect atmosphere. The different rooms allowed for plenty of unique areas for guests to mingle, relax and catch up with those friends from out of town. Having both the ceremony and reception in the same location was perfect, especially for a large portion of our group coming from out of town. The ceremony room had a small town feel, but could still hold plenty of guests. Overall, the staff, location and beauty made Laurel Hall the perfect choice for us!
Laurel Hall is a historic building. I think it is halfway between a castle and a mansion. It is just beautiful and great because you can have the ceremony and the reception in the same location. They were sticklers on time and were very serious about it. We got stared down pretty hard when it was time to go and don't expect any help from the staff they are just there to make sure nothing gets broken but honestly the venue is worth ignoring that. The grounds are lovely and it is just perfect for a wedding. Definitly take a look. You will fall in love!
