Jonathan and the Lavishly Dunn Team are the best in the business. We had about 190 guests for our Vineyard wedding and Lavishly Dunn delivered. They had to travel, bring all of the food and equipment over on a ferry in the middle of a storm. Despite so many obstacles they made it happen and the bride and I did not have to worry about any of it. If you are looking for a reliable caterer for your wedding, please look no further. All of our wedding guests raved about how great the food was and they all wanted more. We are all aware that wedding catering not always the best, Lavishly Dunn is the exception. Our options were the Steak, Salmon, Chicken and for vegatarians we had the Buttern

We had a wonderful experience with Jonathan, Cayla, and the Lavishly Dunn staff. The tasting was fun and Jonathan's expertise was vital in determining the amount of food we should have, as well as best ways to accommodate our family-style meal for our small wedding of under 30 guests. The LD staff was great in helping us with our backyard wedding, and came to the house months in advance to help determine workable locations for their staff, power outlets, and brainstorm any issues we'd encounter. The staff were so friendly the night-of, and we loved their bartender, Tucker! Our guests raved about the delicious food as well as the raw bar. Our only snafu was the delivery of their 2000lb oven... with a backyard wedding and a difficult gravel driveway to navigate, we all would have been better off putting the oven in the garage multiple days before the event, instead of the afternoon of the event. In the end it all worked out, but it was far too stressful for everyone involved!

Lavishly Dunn catered our wedding and did a fantastic job. The food was wonderful and they were so accommodating to many allergies. The fish the could have easily been dry wasn’t and our guests who are vegan said their food was so good. What really made it though was that their whole staff was so fun and attentive! They really brought the celebration atmosphere to everyone the interacted with. There’s always some sticker sticker shock with these types of things but they were right in the ball park with every other quote we got for 130 people.

Lavishly Dunn catered my small wedding reception back in 2020 when COVID first started. A month before the reception we had to go from a 160 person reception to 10 people due to COVID. Lavishly Dunn was so helpful and accommodating to our last minute request. Jonathan delivered the food right to our house and set everything up for us. When I say the food was delicious, that is a huge understatement. My family is still raving about how yummy the food was. I can't recommend Lavishly Dunn enough! We can't wait to have them cater again!

I highly recommend Lavishly Dunn. We originally had booked them to cater our rehearsal dinner at our private residence but with Covid we had to postpone and with restrictions plans changed. In April 2021, we finally were able to have our wedding. They provided food for all of our wedding party for the morning and afternoon of getting ready prior to the wedding. Everyone loved the food and it went quickly! Cayla was great to work with. ☺️

Jonathan, Cayla and the entire Lavishly Dunn Team were great to work with! From our initial phone call with Jonathan, he helped us narrow down choices for our wedding day cocktail hour and dinner that were not only delicious but also worked within our budget. We were lucky that they worked with our venue many times before, so the wedding day service seemed effortless. Our guests raved about their meals and we were so happy we chose Lavishly Dunn for our wedding day!

Stay far far away from this caterer. There is nothing I can say good about our experience. To start appetizers were small to none. We had a buffet to make the dinner go a little quicker. Big mistake! The presentation of the buffet was nothing. A few pots with food. Oh cold food. No warming dishes. Their pictures on all the media sights must be from some other caterer. The portion size of the protein was embarrassing to say the least. And oh we ran out of swordfish before the last two tables were served. He said we ran out because we let the vendors eat first. Oh but we paid for vendor meals. That does not make sense. The risotto was crunchy. Salads were small. In summary the dinner was a disappointment. Not one guest complemented us on the wedding food. I had to find wait staff to come clean tables by dance floor that were full of glasses. He still charged us for no show wait staff. We brought all this to the caterer's attention and he offered to bring over a few meals to compensate for the day. I'm not one to write reviews or mess with someone's livelihood. But the caterer took no responsibility for the poor service. Stay away.

Our wedding was in August 2019 and we couldn't have asked for a better caterer in Lavishly Dunn. Working with Jonathan and Cayla was seamless - we wish we had hired them to be our actual wedding coordinators! If you want exceptional food paired with terrific service, we highly recommend Lavishly Dunn for your wedding! Also, the tasting was a great experience in of itself!

Lavishly Dunn catered our wedding on September 1st and we can not say enough great things about them. From start to finish Johnathan, Cayla, and the whole team made us feel like we were the only wedding they were focused on (which I'm sure we were one of about 200 maybe) Our initial chat - Johnathan actually insisted we spoke over the phone so he could get a good feel for our wedding and made amazing suggestions for our menu that we stuck with through to the end. Every couple months over the course of the year Cayla would check in with us and make sure all of our questions were answered. The day of the wedding was seamless and the food was AMAZING! To us it was very important to have REALLY GOOD FOOD. There is nothing worse than going to a wedding and being hungry. We for sure were not hungry. Everyone told us that night how delicious the food was and that they wanted to go boxes to take home for later :) thank you Cayla for working endlessly with us and all the other soon to be newlyweds, you are a saint! We WILL be using LD for all of our catering events in the future. THANK YOU!

Lavishly Dunn provided a perfect service for our event. The food was delicious, and someone came and delivered everything, and helped us set up too. As first-time event planners, Lavishly Dunn made it super easy to get catering for our event, and Cayla was more than patient on the phone and through email throughout the whole process. Lots of options ranging from full catering to quick to-go boxes, and they helped us so last-minute as well. Definitely going to work with them again for future events!!

Lavishly Dunn catered our wedding last week and did a phenomenal job! The food was delicious and they customized the menu to add little touches that matched our personality (their fun & unique appetizers were a huge hit!). Jonathan did a great job as our wedding day coordinator as well making sure everything ran smoothly at the rehearsal and on the day of. He and Cayla were super easy to work with in regards to preparation and coordination and we highly recommend Lavishly Dunn to anyone looking to cater their event!

I never write reviews, but my experience was so poor that I sadly felt compelled to warn future brides and grooms. To be brief, your quote will be a starting point that will increase little by little until your budget has been largely exceeded. For a wedding of 140, we gave a $20k budget. By the time we got to the tasting, the bill had creeped up to $26k. The team at Lavishly Dunn will give you affordable options in order to lock in your $1k deposit, at which point they know they have you hooked. When I addressed the fact that my budget had been blown by 30% for nothing new or special added, Jonathan, the owner, told me that "it wasn't that much of a difference from where we started." However, when I requested my deposit back, I was told that "$1k is a lot for Lavishly Dunn, and they would not return my money." The hypocritical, deceitful practices here are shameful - for those trying to plan a beautiful (and already expensive!) day. Additionally, when going to the tasting, it is $75 per person for those in addition to bride and groom, so be aware no MOH/Best man/parents can come without another incremental cost. The portions were laughably small. For appetizers, the "bite size" portion was so small it really only qualified as 1/4 bite. We would have been mortified serving that to our guests. For $26k, the mac and cheese bites shouldn't require a magnifying glass (it isn't as though this is an expensive to produce item!). Stay away unless you want to be underwhelmed with the food, having guests leave hungry (a friend used them for a bridal shower and they RAN OUT OF FOOD - didn't find this out until after I had booked), or price gouged. There are so many phenomenal options out there - give your business to good people who deserve it, and save yourself time, money, and frustration!

Our wedding was in late September, 2018 so this review is long overdue! Jonathan, Cayla and the rest of the Lavishly Dunn team are absolutely fantastic. We were fortunate enough to have our wedding at a family home on the Cape, which was amazing but also came with a lot of details that normally a venue would take care of. Lavishly Dunn made the process easy and fun. Jonathan also served as our 'day of' planner. He and Cayla always quickly answered my emails and calls, helping to ensure that the 'day of' menu was correct and the wedding events could run smoothly. The food was also delicious. Honestly, it felt like we were eating in a 5 star restaurant. The horsd'oeuvres were amazing (I could have eaten a plate of those chicken quesadillas myself), and the dinner was ridiculously good. Several of our guests came up to my husband and I after, asking for recipes. When cooking for 120+ guests out of a makeshift kitchen (they set one up in our garage), I figured it would be good but honestly, they blew everyone away. It was amazing. The staff were also incredibly kind and accommodating. They took terrific care of our guests. Our cocktail hour was outside by the water, and once the sun went down it got chilly. One server ran to fetch my husband's 90 year old godmother a blanket, and kept checking in on her throughout the evening. They also made sure that my husband and I were always taken care of- that we had a good drink or got first choice of our favorite appetizers. Overall, they were professional, approachable and genuinely happy to be there. I can't recommend Jonathan and team enough. Jonathan has a great style. He knows how to get stuff done, but he also keeps it fun and stress-free. We wanted our wedding to be a big celebration and Jonathan helped us achieve just that. He and Cayla helped us personalize it with fun details (like making us our own signature cocktails...and letting me buy my own Costco cake). We will 100% work with them again and I can't wait until that day comes! I know how stressful it can be to find a great vendor/food option and I am happy to chat further with anyone who wants to learn more. :)

I highly recommend Lavishly Dunn Catering as a full service catering service. They catered our wedding on 10/6/18. Cayla was fantastic to work with from start to finish: proficient, punctual, knowledgeable, and kind. The catering team ran like well oiled machine and the food was absolutely delicious!

Lavishly Dunn was fantastic!! Working with Jon and Cayla was so easy and fun, we were excited to see them on our wedding day. The night of, and since the wedding, we received so many compliments regarding just how good the food was. The salmon and risotto were particularly delicious. From the hors d’oeuvres at the cocktail hour to the carving station and the bartenders, everything was top notch and flawless. It was so reassuring to work with such a professional and talented group!

Chef Jonathan is amazing. Cayla was incredibly communicative and responsive throughout the process. An unbelievable​ meal at our reception, from first course to dessert. Stop searching for something better -- you won't find it!

Lavishly Dunn catered our wedding in May, and they were amazing start to finish! We knew as soon as we had the tasting that they were the right caterer for us. We wanted to do BBQ but a little more upscale, and they absolutely delivered. Not only was all the food delicious (my biggest wedding day regret is not snagging more apps!), but Cayla and Jonathan were both SO helpful in the planning process. They always responded quickly and dealt with all of my bridal craziness throughout. I can’t say enough good things about them! If you’re trying to decide whether to book them, do it!

We were very satisfied with the service and food provided by Lavishly Dunn! Our guests loved the food and kept complimenting us throughout the day. Thanks to their professionalism and expertise we had a beautiful reception!

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Lavishly Dunn. When we went for our tasting with Jonathan Dunn, we were wowed by each dish we tried. We knew we would be hiring them. His coordinator, Michelle, was incredibly organized, professional, sweet, and caring. She helped put my mind to ease! After our site visit, she quickly emailed me an outline of the whole day. Once the wedding day came, I had a waiter hovering by me to make sure I was able to sample all of the hors d'oeuvres, someone also made sure my husband and I had a drink at all times, and basically we had everything else taken care of for us! I had guests telling us that this was the best wedding food they had ever had - ever. Furthermore, they had very reasonable prices, were always quick to respond to my emails/calls, and were both some of the nicest people I have met. I highly recommend them for any catering event!

We went with Lavishly Dunn for many reasons. Of course a big reason was that he was in our budget and had come back with the most reasonable quote we had been given. But more importantly the food was delish, well presented, and we loved Jonathan's personality. Throughout the process Jonathan was quick to reply to our questions, open to our suggestions and willing to work with us on every aspect. His staff was professional and courteous. The event went smoothly. And our guests enjoyed the food!! The menu offerings are varied and he's open to suggestions about how to improve upon his food. Pricing was per item (and very fair!). This was helpful as we did a cocktail style reception with stations versus sit down. Also it makes mixing and matching easy as can be! You can easily put together a little something something for under $25/head. Also depends on if you go through them for your alcohol needs (which you can! Beer and wine was roughly $8/head for us, I believe) Jonathan also worked with me to make a few things separate as I had a lactose intolerant friend. He some how found her and provided her with her special eats without a problem. And lastly, I made my own cupcakes and had a DIY mini cupcake bar (w/ take home containers, for the "favors"). I had marked all the bags of frosting and had included a smaller bag w/ a name of a guest (I told my friend, who has a slight frosting obsession, that I'd have a bag with his name on it). I forgot to inform Jonathan of this and figured it would get put into a new icing bag with the rest of the frosting to be used (which would've been fine). Some how, probably my friend drooling over the frosting, one of the staff found Adam and gave him his bag of frosting. It's the little things that really make the difference.
