First Review May 3, 2020
We stayed four nights & the friendliness and professionalism of the staff was appreciated. The downside, we checked into the hotel to relax and decompress and not to play ring around the room. We had to change rooms twice due to maintenance issues which we felt should have afforded an automatic upgrade offered by the staff to accommodate for the inconvenience that we experienced of having to get redressed and packed up twice to go to several different floors. However, the third room was a charm. Overall the service and experience was great but could have been exceptional.

BEWARE!!! The "General Manager" Hazel is spiteful and vindictive. Yesterday, I left an unfavorable review. Directly after that my card was charged $106. Today, I called Le'Meridian to inquire about the charge. Hazel the "General Manager" informed me that I was charged a cleaning fee, I asked her what for? Hazel stated that housekeeping had to clean up blood in the room. I asked her why wasn't I contacted in regards to this matter before my card was charged? I never received an answer to that question from Hazel. Then, I asked her how can you definintivley determine that what you thought you saw was in fact blood? Do you have a degree in forensic science? Hazel stated that as the "General Manager" she has had biohazard training, REALLY??? I am appalled and offended at Hazel's inaccurate conclusion. Does biohazard training give Hazel permission to accuse without inquiry? How does Hazel know what she that she saw was indeed blood without adequate testing? It seems as if Hazel might be in the wrong profession. As Le'Meridian's "General Manager" Hazel needs more training in resolution and communication. Her overconfidence is distateful and disdainful. This is my second unfavorable review in regard to her unproffesionlism. In the mist of the pandemic that we are all in, unwarranted accusations are never acceptable or appreciated. My husband and I will definitely not be returning to Le'Meridian. We have warned our friends and family not to patronize this hotel from this point on. Le'Meridian has their "General Manager" Hazel to thank for the loss of business.

My Fiancé and I hosted a wedding event on October 6th at Le Meridian and while the event went well, I can tell you it was NOT due to the staff at this venue. I have been in customer service management for over 20 years and take pride in building quality relationships versus transactional ones and I understand the challenges that can occur that are unforeseen. With that being said when situations do arise you have an opportunity to rise to the occasion and treat your guests with the same level of service you would want for yourself and I can say that we were woefully disappointed on multiple occasions. We are taking the time to share in detail our challenges from day one so that it may help you to elevate your service levels to equal the quality of your beautiful facility. I have written a review and posted to Le Meridian's Facebook page, unfortunately or fortunate depending on your perspective all the issues I encountered The Knot doesn't allow me enough characters to explain in detail.
The Le Meridien team could not be a better events/wedding venue. This place is a gem. Our wedding (100 people) was handled with the utmost perfection and professionalism from start to finish with tons of care and attention. This is largely due to Karen, who is a major asset to their team and just incredibly kind and attentive. I looked out of the bridal suite while I was getting ready (which, by the way, is an incredibly gorgeous room and totally luxurious) and saw Karen directing and overseeing all setup personally! The actual space is amazing - it feels romantic and urban, with a rooftop-like ceremony space that overlooks Washington DC and a reception space with beautiful fixtures and floor-to-ceiling windows. The flow of the floor plan is perfect for a medium size wedding. Distinct ceremony space, photo area, cocktail hour location, bar, reception space, and dance floor.
The hotel includes a ton of mind-blowing details in their package - if you chose to bring in nothing yourself, seriously no decor, you would have a beautiful space with everything included. My beautifu ceremony arch was provided by the venue, for example, at no charge! They allow you to bring in your items a day in advance, saving extra stress. There is a backup plan no matter what might arise! The food was truly incredible - my guests raved about it and our tasting was great. The bar had speedy and attentive service. The accommodations for all our guests were handled perfectly and everyone loved staying in the hotel. People constantly told me this was the best location for a wedding. The sales staff seamlessly transitioned our contract onwards to the actual people planning the event - something I know other brides have issues with, but at Le Meridien every detail was flawless. Every question my family threw at Karen, she had a polished, poised response that put them at ease. We know we made the right choice with Le Meridien - would definitely recommend to other brides.
We could not have picked a better location for both our ceremony and reception! The staff was amazing, the venue is beautiful and their recommended vendors list is on point! We had our rehearsal dinner there and everyone stayed at the hotel (pet friendly BTW) so we did not have to stress about any of the transportation issues in downtown Arlington. I would not change a thing about our wedding.
I have nothing but great things to say about Le Meridien! The Wedding Service Manager, Allison and her team were GREAT!!! My special day was even more fun and more beautiful than I had envisioned! They were always very responsive and willing and happy to be of assistance to me and my family! I would highly recommend this venue to the bride that wants contemporary but elegant, all inclusive, no headache or hassle wedding planning/day experience! I would highly recommend Le Meridien!
We did not have our wedding at Le Meridien. Our reception was at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington and could not recommend them enough! We chose Le Meridien for our hotel because of the location. We had a great experience with the sales staff, especially Alison Shuldheis. They were accommodating and responsive. I would give the sales staff 5 stars. Most of our guests were from out of town, so we had about 45 rooms booked. The weekend we got married there were 2 other wedding room blocks plus a wedding reception being held there. If I have one recommendation for Le Meridien, it would be to limit them to 1 room block when they have a wedding reception the same weekend. When I arrived on that Friday at 3:15 my suite was not ready. As the Bride, I expected my suite to be ready. They had not even been in to start cleaning the suite until 4:30. It was not the way I wanted to start my wedding weekend. They seemed very under staffed.Other guests were not able to check in until later and not just from our room block. I had worked with the sales staff to have a lobby bar set up for us for after the wedding reception.I was told this would happen, when we arrived, the bar was being rolled away. When we asked, not one staff member could give an explanation and just told us the bar was closed. The staff was not helpful in telling us why they closed the bar when they said it would be open. We later found out(a week later after my mother finally spoke to management)that the wedding reception there had gotten out of hand so they are legally allowed to stop all alcohol service. No management was called when we were trying to find out why, which was very frustrating.Overall, it is a great value for a room block $109 per night for Rosslyn is a steal and the sales staff was great.I think the front desk staff was rude and not helpful especially with my suite not being ready.I don't think service is their number one priority. I would not recommend this for location for wedding room blocks.
Le Meridien was a prime location for the couple and the guests. It was central to getting into DC, Georgetown and Metro friendly to and from the airport (DCA). The venue was spacious enough for 120 guests and the terrace outside of the restaurant where the reception was held provided a easy transition between ceremony and reception. The view of the Potomac River and Georgetown provided an amazing background to our wedding ceremony. One draw back is the noise from the traffic and planes landing at the airport but it was not distracting but also expected as we knew we were in the city. So we ensured musicians and wedding officiant was amplified.
The staff was friendly and very professional whenever we met and communicated with us. Allison, the conference services manager, was delightful to work with and she was reliable through out the wedding planning process. The hotel was very organized in ensuring weddings coordinations at the venue were flawless.
The hotel went above and beyond for us several times when they did not need to. They continued to open more rooms for guests and were able to ensure guests were treated as hotel guests as well. The tasting was very professional, where the executive chef fully explained each course and demonstrated how he will try to keep the meals kosher. Furthermore, the bride and her mother dined at the restaurant for a spontaneous lunch, the Chef immediately recognized the bride and provided a complimentary appetizer.
At the end of the wedding reception, when we returned to the bridal suite Allison coordinated to have a bottle of champagne and a plate of fruit waiting for us. On top of that, we allowed the hotel manager to take pictures of the decorated ceremony and reception. He surprised us and provided a framed 8x11 photo from the wedding ceremony, as well as a 4x6 photo magnet! This absolutely overwhelmed us and we could not be more satisfied and appreciative of their level of professionalism and hospitality.
My husband and I had our cocktail hour and wedding reception at Le Meridien in March 2014, and it truly was such a wonderful experience! Our situation was a little unique in that the hotel was renovating their event space prior to our event and we were the first event to be held in the new space which was truly stunning with the Potomac overlook. I couldn’t give 5 stars in all categories only because the renovations finished the morning of my wedding despite pushing our wedding date back 2 weeks. If I had to do it all again, I would still do it at Le Meridien because it turned out so beautifully and because of all of the hotel staff that I worked with!! Allison was our coordinator and she truly did anything and everything I asked, and she did it all in a very timely manner! She was so accommodating with all of my ideas from table runners to extra room keys to storage of our decor, and she made everything seem effortless! It is very evident that she truly cares about the bride and groom and wishes only the best for them on their special day! I must also say that Mabel and Edwin did a fantastic job with the cocktail hour and reception service! I know that I was probably in my "bride bubble" but they both seemed to anticipate anything that might "come up" and they took care of it even before it did. Le Meridien treated all of the little details with respect to make our dream day come true. The food was amazing! I received so many compliments on the cocktail appetizers (passed and table) as well as on the dinners! I did not use a cake from the preferred bakery as I had another cake vendor, and so Allison decreased my per person cost accordingly. The accommodations in the hotel were great. Our suite was enormous and beyond anything I ever imagined! Allison was also so kind and she asked the front desk to upgrade our guests' rooms as they were able. Bottom line, it is a stunning venue and the staff will make your dream day come true at Le Meridien!!
I almost had my wedding at Le Meridien. The space is really beautiful (unparalleled in NoVa) and, though it can accommodate many guests, it still had a cozy feel. This space is perfect for a modern couple. In the end, it ended up being a couple of thousand above my budget. YET, that didn't stop it from being my top choice because both my fiance and father saw how much I loved it and told me to go for it (meaning, they were willing to pay the difference).
This is why it fell from first place to not an option:
When we went on the tour, the lady showed me the "restaurant style" reception area with the beautiful views and decor. She made no mention of the walled in reception area that is on the other side of the building (and was within my budget) nor did she ever show it to me. Meanwhile, we only discussed prices for this unseen and cheaper area. It was only after I got home and reviewed the price sheets in detail that I realized this. The bait and switch tactic made me weary of signing a contract with them. Yet, I loved this place so much and I had my family's support. I tried to excuse it by assuming it was an oversight and that she thought she had made the distinction.
So, then I sent my standard follow up emails: the things that you don't think to ask when you are viewing a place. I visited Le Meridien and many other properties on the same day. I sent them all the same types of questions. Le Meridien took TWO WEEKS to respond. She simply said that she had been out of the office for vacation. She didn't communicate this beforehand nor did she have an assistant take over. She knew my wedding was coming quickly so I would be making a decision quickly, too. By this point, I was already signing with another location. The final contract had not been signed so I did have the choice to change my mind. But, seeing the carelessness that they had with the sales process, I couldn't trust them to take care of such a big day for me. (The same woman would be overseeing everything on the day-of.)
It's worth mentioning that cakes are a part of the package and they contract with a particular company that I don't remember the name of. I was worried about this because I didn't want to be limited in my cake options. However, the cake example they showed me wasn't what I would consider a basic design and I would have felt comfortable ordering from there.
We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights because it was close to the venue of our daughter's wedding at the Top of the Town in Rosslyn, Arlington. I cannot say enough good things about this property. It has a very upmarket feel and offers an extremely high level of service at reasonable prices for the area. Prices are especially good on weekends. The hotel is right on the Potomac River beside the Key Bridge which runs over the river to Georgetown. The river view rooms have fantastic vistas. Arlington Cemetery and the Iwo Jima memorial are nearby. Their is also an underground station not far away. The bus from NY to Washington also stops right opposite the Hotel. Most of our out of town guests (about 30 rooms) booked into the hotel. They gave everyone a great deal. My wife and I were upgraded to a very large suite and our daughter got a good deal on the bridal suite. The staff just couldn't do enough for us. I would especially recommend this hotel for a function along with the wedding venue at the Top of The Town, which has unbelievable views of DC. The Hotel is not in DC itself. Rosslyn is more of a business area during the week, but Georgetown is just 15 minutes walk over the Key Bridge and you're right in the thick of it
I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Le Meridien Arlington (formerly Hotel Palomar). They offer an amazing view for outdoor ceremonies and package pricing that is hard to beat.
Most venues I looked at nickeled and dimed you for every service. Le Meridien offers a great dinner, open bar, linens, champagne toast, coordinator onsite, cake, and hotel stay for about $150/person. Although the price seems a little steep, it wasn't compared to other venues I found.
It is a good choice if you want to serve alcohol and can afford to have your wedding at a nice hotel with a great view. The restaurant is beautiful for receptions and reduced the amount I needed to spend on decorations. It seats about 120 guests.
Bottom line, I think the venue looks more expensive than the price. The food was awesome too.
Everything turned out wonderful the day of the wedding, but the service was sub-par throughout the planning process. It took many emails and phone calls to get a response for basic questions and even to submit payments that I owed. Having my own wedding planner would have made that part easier.
Many questions came up from other vendors and it would usually take more than a week to get an answer. Although it was frustrating, I wouldn't let it prevent you from having your wedding at this venue if that is your only concern. I was doing all of my planning, and it was definitely worth it in the end.
difficult to arrange, guests were happy, great location
My guests were blown away by the service and comfort of the Hotel Palomar! It was also convenient for those who wanted to tour DC. The reception was elegant and fun, the room was the perfect size for apx 100 guests. The food in Domasco (and catered for the wedding) got rave reviews! My wedding suite was the most amazing and the nice touches made me feel like the most special bride!
