About this vendor
Le Pavillon is an elegant hotel and wedding venue in downtown New Orleans, LA. This deluxe venue offers lavish ballrooms, delicious local cuisine, and expert planners in the heart of the Big Easy.
This glamorous hotel is part of New Orleans's rich historical tapestry. Le Pavillon was founded over 100 years ago, in 1907, as New Hotel Denechaund. This name was short-lived, and the hotel quickly became the Desoto Hotel in 1913. This magnificent lodge was even home to New Orleans' first radio station, WDSU. Since the 1970s, it has been Le Pavillon, a French-inspired architectural beauty that reflects the unique city around it. The grand entrance features Roman-style pillars, towering statues, and a gilded entryway, offering a sneak peek of what's inside.
On your special day, tie the knot in the romantic and intimate ceremony space under a lovely floral arbor. Then, pose for photos with your beloved on the impressive staircase under crystal chandeliers while your guests mingle over refreshing cocktails made by experienced bartenders. Le Pavillon offers multiple stunning reception rooms that accommodate intimate weddings and larger soirees of up to 125 guests. The Bijoux is an onsite deluxe restaurant ideal for your wedding meal. It boasts marble flooring, fine art, and glimmering chandeliers. The skilled catering crew will consult with you to craft the perfect wedding menu, from hors d'oeuvres to dessert. After dinner, dance the night away with your loved ones on the spacious dance floor. Le Pavillon has an experienced and welcoming events staff that will work with you to make your wedding dreams a reality. They offer a recommended vendor list to ease your planning journey and can assist with any additional planning needs. Your special day will go off without a hitch at this beautiful and storied venue.

I don't think there are enough words to explain how happy we are that we had our ENTIRE wedding at Le Pavillon. We had our ceremony and reception on-site--and our guests stayed the...
re, too. It had been our dream to get married at this hotel, and the staff did not disappoint. Through multiple postponements, vendor changes, staff changes, and ever changing COVID restrictions, I always felt like the staff at Le Pavillon had my back. They never took advantage of our misfortune of having to postpone due to COVID. They went above and beyond to deliver a world class event. The hotel's facilities are breathtaking. Our guests all agreed that the hotel is simply elegant. I would be remiss not to give a special shout out to Chris Couvillion, the Director of Sales and Marketing. When I tell you that Chris is an angel, I am not exaggerating. There are so many examples of Chris going above and beyond for me and my guests. He is a problem solver and he really does his best to make your vision happen. We are so grateful for Chris and everyone at Le Pavillon. If you are lucky enough to have your wedding at Le Pavillon, and Chris is on your team, you are going to have an extraordinary event.

ssful :). They went above and beyond to accommodate my stay and my guests. The whole staff was helpful from the moment we walked in. I can't thank you guys enough!

ng was perfect! Our entire wedding party family and friends stayed at the hotel and everyone had amazing things to say about it! If you are looking for an all around great place for a reception this is your place!!!!
BUYER BEWARE. I had my wedding at the Le Pavilion in December of 2016. We booked with them a year and a half in advance. Immediately after we booked with the hotel and gave our dep...
osit, it was bought by a national company which subsequently replaced all of the people we had been working with and had been with the hotel for many, many years. I had a total of four different Catering Service Managers (who is essentially the wedding planner at the hotel) to work with. Many of them would only contact us back after borderline harassment and we were never notified when they would leave and a new person took over their position. Guests trying to book a room within our room block also had a lot of problems, as the new staff would constantly give them conflicting information or simply tell them there were no more rooms available, which was not the case. The final Catering Services Manager, Lauren Langenstein, truly did her best to make up for all the bad stuff that happened to us. Lauren tried to accommodate us in any way possible and was very response to questions and requests. However, there was only so much she could do. The day of the wedding, my bridal party got ready at the hotel. A breaker flipped in the suite; understandably, as we had a lot going on but it took maintenance almost 25 minutes to have the power to our room turned back on. We were also never notified that our flowers were delivered and only got our bouquets when we called reception right before we began to take pictures before the ceremony. The night of our wedding the hotel was clearly short staffed for such an event (150 guests). I barely saw my personal attendant (very nice girl), as she seemed extremely busy helping out the other staff within the ballroom. The bar would tell guests (including my Dad) that they were out of certain alcohols that we paid to have in unlimited quantities, but in truth they had run out of what they had behind the bar and needed more brought up to them from the storage room. Many times I would glance over at the main food table area and it would be almost completely empty, as the kitchen could not keep up with the demand. Also, we had been gifted a set of Waterford Crystal champagne toasting glasses, which I had brought up to my suite right after they were used to ensure their safety (brought by our attendant, who I had to catch at the reception) and the box of which has never been recovered. Staff could only tell us that “an older gentlemen with gray hair” took it and told them he would get it to us. The next morning when my husband checked us out of the hotel, no one alerted him that they had things to give him, such as the top of our wedding cake or the cake topper that I brought. Granted, he did not think to ask about those things at the time due to an eventful weekend, but things of that nature are service markers you would expect from this nice of a hotel. Overall, the wedding was beautiful and our pictures came out great due to the grandeur of the hotel. Lauren was very helpful and it seemed like she really did as much as she could given the circumstances. However, for the premium prices that were paid, we did not receive premium goods or services. All has been brought to the attention of the hotel, with some resolution. But, buyer beware.
Le Pavillon did a beautiful job for our wedding! All of our guests raved about how it was the best wedding they ever attended, and the attention to detail paid by the staff was cer...
tainly what made the difference. Even though the catering/wedding staff at the hotel turned over twice during our year of planning, those who ended up executing in the end really made sure that our vision played out perfectly.
By far, the food and beverage services were the best part of the weekend. Chef Adam really took care of us and every bite of food and sip of drink we had was fantastic. The food service was carried out without any problems, and although we were at first disappointed that jazz brunch had been canceled the following morning, the staff made up for it with the complimentary mimosas for us and our group of 20+ for the lunch buffet, and turned on some fun jazz music in the room anyway.
Pam and Calvin deserve the highest accolades when it comes to the reception. Calvin really executed everything perfectly with the room setup and decorations - better than I could've imagined even if I'd done it all myself! Pam took care of us every second of the night. I was actually not feeling very well at all on my wedding day, and she mixed up something at the bar that settled my stomach instantly and allowed us to eat, drink, and dance the night away with no regrets.
There were some problems with hotel housekeeping and our guests being charged incorrect amounts for their stays as parts of the room block at the hotel, but overall I am quite satisfied and would do everything exactly the same way again if given the chance. Just fantastic!

le come true. Everything was perfect. My guests still say it was the most amazing wedding they've ever been too. I wish we could relive it every year!

ging family and friends to help. Between work, kids, and planning a wedding it was so reassuring to have booked Le Pavillon. As the date got closer nerves set in and we double and triple-checked everything after learning the original Le Pavillon Wedding Coordinator we worked with had quit. It took a few tries to land with the new Coordinator but once we did, she took care of every detail.
Our big day came and we had an additional ballroom for hair & makeup, a huge meeting room to work on the gift bags the day before, and a honeymoon suite to die for. Everything fell into place that day and I could not be more thankful. All of my guests kept saying that it felt like a dream and we completely agree. It was like we were in a haze, everything was so perfect, beautiful, and elegant.
This was our favorite getaway place before getting married so it was only right that we should get married here. Going forward, this will remain "our" place. Thank you to the entire staff at Le Pavillon! Everyone from the Wedding Coordinator to the bell boy, thank you from the bottom of our hearts <3
A BRIDE'S FAIRYTALE TURNED NIGHTMARE!
Where do i begin?.. We planned our destination wedding in New Orleans and we took our time to select our venue , after meeting with Gwen...
the event coordinator at that time and reading countless wonderful reviews we chose le Pavillon for our reception. The Hotel is beautiful , kinda reminded me of Cinderella's white Castle. Gwen was very nice and very helpful, at the begininng everything looked like it was going to be nothing less than a fairytale wedding for us. I dreamed of that day in that place over and over, many times.
9 months down the line we planned another trip to the Nola to meet with vendors and we scheduled a food tasting with Gwen , when we got there we were informed that Gwen was no longer working with them or that she was only working only part time we don't know because we never got the right story but this is when the nightmare began.
They were not prepared for our tasting, they said their head chef was on a trip to visit his sick son . Yet we came to find out later on that they had fired their head chef .
3 months No one was getting back to us , Stephany kept giving us the run around with things . My husband tried to contact the GM a few times before he finally decided to get back to us, very unprofessional on his part. He left a message on his phone admitting to have dropped the ball with our wedding event due to lastminute changes . My nerves were so bad that caused me to have a massive panic attack , i had to get prescribed medication. I literally thought we were going to have to call off the entire wedding at that point. Thankfully we were able to find a venue very last minute and we asked for a full refund on the deposited we had made.
Things worked for the better after that , we eneded up having our wedding reception at JW Marriott and it was AMAZING!
If you're thinking of booking this venue for a destination wedding i would do alot of research on this place. There's been rumors that they got bought out by another company and they're making alot of changes with their staff, becareful!
Le Pavillon was a beautiful venue for our classic, elegant wedding reception! We chose this venue primarily out of convenience... They took care of everything for us... I literally...
did not lift a finger on the day of the wedding. Our reception ended up costing way more than we anticipated because the sales people are very good at upselling additional services. However, they definitely kept me on top of my planning and our wedding attendant was fantastic! I think we definitely chose well!
Let me begin that I am prejudiced in my my love for the city! There is so much to experience, and Le Pavillon is the Mt Everest of all that is New Orleans. Gwen DeFraites inspired ...
us to reach beyond what we thought we could do to get exactly what we wanted for our wedding. All within our budget!
She and her team of professionals gave us a seamless wedding. No hiccups, no mistakes, No Worries. We could be in the moment of our wedding, because everything was handled to Perfection. Getting married shouldn't be "work"; it should be the day our dreams can come true. Gwen DeFraites and Le Pavillon's staff made that dream a Beautiful Reality.

in Downtown New Orleans, it was one of the best values we could find.
As a 2nd time mother of the bride & planner of 3 bat mitzvahs and many elaborate corporate events, I can unequivocally recommend le Pavillon for any aspect of your wedding.

tel is a favorite of mine when visiting NOLA from my home in NJ.
I had to do much of the planning myself since my daughter was finishing her PhD two weeks before the wedding. More than half the guests were from out of town & stayed at le Pavillon. Everyone loved the decor, friendly & accommodating staff and of course the PB&J!
Paula is a gem to work with - and lmade my job practically stress free. BTW I highly agree that her recommendation to get a suite for the bride & groom was a great idea.
Beyond guest accommodations, we had a rehearsal dinner and morning-after breakfast for about 50 people. The Rooftop Terrace Room was perfect. The food was excellent and beautifully displayed. A big shout out to Gwen for all of her help, guidance AND personally solving the disappearance of the veil with the wedding venue.
I would be totally remiss if I did not give a very special Thank You to Gerald. He took charge & took care of us from the moment we arrived until we checked out, including being on duty all day checking on the bridal party prep room, replenishing food, maintaining calm, moving chairs, making and deliverying flyers to guests... the list goes on.
And finally, I'd like to recognize the gem of le Pavillon - Derrick - you'll recognize him immediately with the warmest welcome you'll ever get from any hotel bellman. If you see him, tell him "New Jersey" says hi!
This was the venue for my daughter's wedding and reception in February of 2014. It was AMAZING! From the first phone call it was evident that Gwen and the entire staff would make...
this a stress free day that no one would soon forget. From the opulent decor of this historic hotel to the culinary delights prepared for our guests, every detail was magnificent. And on that day when the inevitable happens and something goes awry (in our case, the cake topper missing from the cake and my daughter's dress bustle malfunctioning) Gerald, our attendant very calmly handled everything. It was an amazing, stress free weekend. Six months later I still run into guests who say it was the best wedding they have ever attended.
I had my wedding reception at Le Pavillon in May 2014, and I don't think we could have chosen a more perfect venue. We comfortably fit about 200 guests for a buffet style reception...
in the Crystal Room and adjacent bar. I can't say a negative thing about it; everything was perfect - the impeccable service, the delicious food, the beautiful Crystal Room, and the extravagant honeymoon suite included with the event package. My husband and I even were surprised to have our own wedding attendant for the evening who made sure we were well-fed and that our drinks were never empty! Gwen and the whole staff made everything so easy on us - they are an experienced and professional team. And our guests are still telling me what a fantastic time they had. I can't recommend Le Pavillon enough!
The following is from my mom since she doesn't know how to set up an account :)
My daughter had her wedding at Le Pavillon back in May. I am writing this to say what a lovely wedding we had there. Starting with our first contact with the hotel until now we are still talking about the southern charm and hospitality we experienced with everyone there. Gwen Defraites, the wedding and event coordinator at the hotel instantly made us feel at home and confident that our wedding event would be unforgettable. The elegance and size of the hotel was perfect and we all had a truly magical experience. A wedding at Le Pavillon is highly recommended!!!
I can't say enough good things about Le Pavillon. We had our wedding reception (Crystal room) and post-wedding brunch (rooftop room) here last fall and everything was perfect. Le...
Pavillon was by far the best vendor decision we made. Everyone at Le Pavillon was incredibly professional and on top of everything - Gerald and Gwen are the best! My guests still talk about how unique and beautiful the hotel was. We looked at a few other venues downtown, but nothing came close to Le Pavillon in terms of beauty and professionalism. From the minute we first met Gwen, I knew that she was someone I could trust. On the day of the wedding, Gerald was incredibly accessible and on top of everything. I could write an entire review on how awesome Gerald is!
Throughout the reception, my glass was always full and staff was always asking us if we needed anything. The Crystal room was decorated beautifully (we supplied candles and flowers, but Le Pavillon added extra!). They even took our flower arrangements at the end of the night (without us even asking!) and placed them in the post-wedding brunch room the next day, which was wonderful because the room looked awesome and we were able to get two uses out of the arrangements. Also, when we got to our room at the end of the wedding reception, we found Le Pavillon bathrobes gift wrapped for us with a handwritten note from Gwen. Food from the reception was also magically delivered and waiting for us when we arrived to our room! The food was fantastic - my best friend still talks about how awesome the food was!

g leading up to the wedding was flawless and the day of was just perfect. Gwen had everything handled and Gerald quickly became one of the most amazing people in the whole world to me, my wedding party, and my whole family. He took care my bridal party the whole time we were getting ready and was there the next morning to bring me everything that was left behind. They made sure my husband and I had plates of whatever food we wanted at the wedding and I never went more than two minutes with an empty glass. Everyone was so impressed with how gorgeous the wedding was, how incredible the food was, and how perfect the whole evening was. The suite for the night of the wedding was absolutely stunning. After the wedding they not only left tons of wedding food in our room for us to snack on... But did the same in my parents room! There was not one moment of stress and I was so sad when the night was over. After my experience here I can positively say that I would not change a single thing about the entire event. I thought it would be stressful because I was planning from another state but it was all just so easy and perfect. I would highly recommend Le Pavillon to anyone for any event. It was worth every penny! And the reception room is so beautiful that it doesn't need tons of decorating.. Which is such a plus for the out of town bride. I wish my husband and I could have a wedding here every year!!!

eremony and reception we worked with true professionals. Our food was divine, as was the service at our reception. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, and everyone at the Le Pavillon worked to make that happen! If we could give more than 5 stars we would! We would recommend the Le Pavillon as a venue to anyone thinking about a New Orleans wedding!

t was just not needed! All of my wedding pictures came out just stunning with this room and hotel lobby as the background. Food was great and service was wonderful. Gwen was very helpful and accommodating through all the planning, day of and through out the wedding. Gerald went above and beyond the day of the wedding-taking care of all the small details so I could focus on getting ready! All my guest commented on how nice everything was! I highly recommend the Le Pavillon if you are looking for a beautiful place-along with the unparalleled service- to have your wedding!

ding that I have ever attended. The staff members at the hotel were so accommodating not only to us, but to all of our guests. The hotel is lovely beyond words, and honestly, you really don't need flowers or decorations for the tables. The Crystal Room and The Versailles Room are so beautiful. It's a venue "fit for a princess". We hope to be fortunate enough to have our daughter's reception at Le Pavillon one day.

e Event Planner, was so easy to work with and we never had to worry about the details because she took care of everything.
Everyone from Gwen, the concierge, banquet manager, staff and Debbie our "personal assistant" went above and beyond all of our expectations. I was at a wedding this weekend and was told by someone who was also at our wedding that "no wedding was ever going to top ours." One story that keeps getting brought up was how the concierge and banquet manager went out of their way to provide gluten free beer and food throughout the weekend and during the reception to one our our guests that had a wheat allergy- he was truly impressed and appreciative. This was a wedding that will always be remembered by my husband's family and friends from North Carolina, as well as my family and friends that live in Louisiana.
They were right- we were definitely guest at our own reception and never had to worry about a thing!

he best wedding they had ever attended, and we owe it all to Le Pavillon. Gwen took care of us from the beginning to ensure our day was perfect! We planned a destination wedding with little effort on our part thanks to her. As soon as we arrived, we felt like royalty (especially in that spectacular bridal suite!), as did our guests. Our guests continue to rave about the level of service during their stay and delicious food served at our wedding. I'm so thankful that we chose Le Pavillon and were able to work with such a high class person as Gwen. Our experience at Le Pavillon was unforgettable. Thank you for a perfect wedding weekend!
