Beautiful location and lovely, generous owner
I could not say enough kind words about Virginia and Le San Michele. We knew without a doubt that Le San Michele was where we were going to have our wedding, and have felt supported by Virginia each step of the way. She quickly answered all of the (many) questions we had and has been so warm and welcoming throughout each of our visits. We're anxiously awaiting the next Dinner in the Garden to come back and visit. Thank you for everything!
BRIDES BEWARE. I had my daughter’s wedding at this venue and it was incredibly beautiful, however it’s owned by an unmannered, lunatic that has no business running a wedding venue. The owner at first seems somewhat nice for someone so improper until the day of your wedding then the lunatic comes out in her and her partner/helper. We were not allowed to get to the venue until 1 hour before the wedding, leaving no time for my daughter to do pictures so in order to add an hour it’s cost an additional $400 for every added hour or it was $200 for 30 min added. So I had no choice but to pay that $400. Then if I wanted anything rearranged outside or moved, only she and her helper were allowed to do it and I was charged $25 for every hour per person?! Oh and don’t even try moving or rearranging anything inside the venue, because that’s her house she lives in! So nothing in the venue even went with our decor so we had to work around her outdated giant fake flower arrangements. She sat in a corner drinking the whole night of the wedding watching every thing we did. She sabotaged our meal, she told our caterer before hand that they could use outlets and then the day of the wedding she said no she didn’t have any for them to use. I spent thousands of dollars to serve a plated meal and it was served cold! As for the rehearsal the night before, only allowed 1 hour or charged the additional fee for going over. And we were not allowed at all inside the venue, so all of our out of town bridal party that just drove in were not allowed inside to use her bathroom. On the wedding day, by 11:00PM she was kicking us out of the venue leaving us to take everything out and pack our stuff outside. And did I mention during the entire wedding, her partner was helping himself to our open bar. When I confronted her about that she denied it, even though everyone in the wedding saw him drinking. We are charged for every little thing but her friend had the audacity to drink our alcohol. So yes, the venue is beautiful, but dealing with this lunatic made my daughter’s wedding day memories not the total dream wedding I wanted to give her.
The pictures don't do this place justice. You have to see it. It's absolutely beautiful. And the owner is such a joy to work with.
Love this place!
Virginia is the venue owner and absolutely FANTASTIC to work with. We got married on 11/07/20 and she was so helpful in helping coordinate vendors/decorations/etc. and we couldn’t be happier with her. Additionally, le San Michele is breathtaking and we got so many comments from guests about it being one of the most beautiful weddings they’d ever attended. Additionally, the pricing was awesome and my husband loved how they didn’t “nickel and dime us” over every little thing. I would choose this place a thousand times over if I could go back and do it again!
We had our reception at Le San Michele (ceremony was in a church). Virginia was very sweet and helpful in the early stages of planning and answering our questions. The venue itself is primarily outdoors and simply gorgeous. A good number of my friends and family have lived or are currently in Europe, and they really felt like they were back there at Le San Michele! There is also a lovely indoor section where you can set up your cake and guest book, which great to keep these things out of the elements. It was supposed to rain the day of our wedding, so we planned for a tent (we used Capitol Tents, who are familiar with the venue). I was honestly shocked at how beautiful and perfect the tent fit with everything outside. Lucky for us, the weather was actually perfect and didn't rain during the reception, but the tent provided a little shade and made for a perfect area for dining and dancing! In short, even though this venue is mostly outdoors, even in the event you need tents it will still be stunning! Other than centerpieces, I didn't have any additional decorations and this place is so gorgeous you really don't need them I think. I was super happy to have had my reception at Le San Michele. Our guests loved it, and it reminded me so much of home.
This venue was absolutely beautiful! It was if i walked into a fairy tale. Virginia, her husband and the staff did absolutely everything they could to make the day easier! The guests and everyone really enjoyed being there. Made them feel as if they were somewhere in Italy.
And whenever i needed something or had a question about the venue, Virginia was quick to respond and help out!
For sure would recommend this to every bride looking for a venue and would love to come back some day!
A dream come true. Virginia and her husband own a special piece of paradise that will make anyone's wedding day magical. The venue is so gorgeous no decorations are needed. I felt Like I was in the south of France. The guests couldn't believe a place like this existed in Texas. Virginia is so wonderful and accommodating. My guests still keep raving about the venue and want to come back to visit! Worth every penny.
Le San Michele was a great place to get married in! The grounds are beautiful, as are the furniture and decorations. Virginia was very helpful and accommodating. She suggested a few vendors and made sure everything was set up how we wanted it. The day of our wedding ended up being a bit chilly, which was a bit stressful since we had not gotten a tent and it was too late to rent heaters, but Virginia was very accommodating, suggesting we place the buffet and bar indoors and making sure our guests could warm up by the fireplace when they needed a break. It was a beautiful wedding and all of our guests commented on how great the venue was.
Virginia is the owner of the home and land. She was more than helpful with anything I had questions or concerns on. She was there for back up when my pre-ordered plates and silverware never showed up. It was beautiful and romantic and everyone loved it!
Everyone raved about how beautiful our wedding was and we were on a very tight budget. (No one knew!) Using Le San Michele as the venue really helped keep us keep things affordable. Very reasonable rates that included tables & chairs and extra time to set up for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. Bonus was that it's so beautiful there that there is little need for additional decor.
Definitely have the conversation about what everything costs (including mandatory yet reasonably priced hiring of helpers to move chairs from ceremony area to reception as well as trash removal and renting umbrellas).
All in all, this was the perfect choice for us and really gave us a feeling of being in a totally different world! I would recommend checking it out!
Don't get me wrong- the venue itself is gorgeous...but the overall experience of the pre and post wedding set-up and take down was HORRIBLE. The beauty of the venue is not worth having to work with the owners of the venue. They are very hard to work with and "nickel and dime" you on EVERYTHING. Watch out- read through every single line of the contract and have a lawyer define the confusing and vague terminology. After the wedding- the owner will confront you with all the "extra" charges you owe her.
I had a very easy and enjoyable experience working with Virginia (the owner). Also, the venue is INCREDIBLE!! It's so beautiful! Everyone at my wedding kept saying that they felt like they were in the French countryside...not Buda! haha
