Legacy Events Kauai was just, AMAZING. Headed by Marie, they were so incredibly helpful, and made for an absolutely perfect wedding day. My wife and I got married at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens, which was a stunning location. However, logistics here are incredible. There is no electricity, no bathrooms, no NOTHING. With getting permits to have people bring in generators, bathrooms, lights, seating, food, etc, this would have been an absolute nightmare to do and organize. Still, Marie and her team had every detail covered, from shipping in, to cleaning up, so my wife and I did not worry about a single thing on our big day. We got to enjoy it to the max, and Marie and her team were so helpful, personal, and happy to help us. Truly and honestly, I feel so grateful and blessed to have had them with us for our journey. I'm quite frugal and at first I was initially very hesitant to hire a wedding planner and wanted to do it ourselves. Marie and her team were worth every single cent, and they allowed me to be present and enjoy my wife, my family, my friends and the beautiful day. You will absolutely not regret hiring this team. Do yourself a favor if you have a wedding or big event, and call them before they've booked someone else! They're the just the best!!!

Best. Planners. Ever. My coworker actually referred us to LEK since they did her wedding, and thank god she did...I dread to think how stressful a destination wedding in Kauai would've been without Marie and Ana helping us. Marie was super organized and very responsive to our (many) emails. Having all the docs in Google Drive made collaboration easy as pie. All the vendors she recommended we use did an amazing job. The one potential hitch was that our original florist went out of business a few months prior to the wedding, but Marie was able to quickly find another one that my wife loved and saved the day. Marie and Ana were both there for the rehearsal and the day of, and they kept everything running smoothly so we could just relax and enjoy the party. We cannot thank the team at LEK enough for executing the destination wedding of our dreams! Everything was absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations in every way. I was very indecisive when it came to wedding details but Marie was incredibly patient and always managed to make me feel at ease after every email and phone call. I loved that LEK laid out the planning documents in a Google Drive, which streamlined and simplified the planning process. Marie went above and beyond to help us get the most out of our budget and yet still plan the event of a lifetime. Having a destination wedding, we weren't able to meet the vendors beforehand, which made me nervous at first. But after our initial call with Marie, I knew we were in great hands. Everyone we worked with off LEK's list of preferred vendors was PHENOMENAL and I would highly recommend to anyone. Marie and Ana were onsite the day of our wedding and everything went off without a hitch. They made my groom and I feel so relaxed. We just showed up and everything was taken care of. They even gave our bridal party their phone numbers in case any issues came up during the day! We have heard from many of our guests that it was the best wedding they've EVER been to. We owe that all to LEK and their stellar work. Coming from the queen of indecisiveness, working with LEK should be an easy decision for every Kauai bride!

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Marie and Ana were nothing but amazing. They are experienced and have everything down perfectly. They are easily accessible, able to accommodate and have very valuable professional opinion. The day went by so smoothly and perfectly.

Marie and Ana were amazing to work with. We were recommended to use them by our photographers and we can't thank them enough. Marie was always on top of it - there when you need her and didn't ask too many small questions. She saw my vision and most important to my husband, she was completely respectful of our budget and worked with us to complete the vision within the budget without overselling us. Thank you guys for a day that will never be forgotten!

Legacy Events Kauai was the best! We had never visited the island of Kauai and we weren't planning on it before having our destination wedding there. So, early on in the planning process, I knew we either had to get married at a resort (which would be all inclusive) or hire a planner. The resort option didn't feel like "us." So, after a ton of research, we found some venues we liked and some planners that seemed decent. LEK truly knocked the other planners out of the water, and we're so glad we went with them! Trying to plan a wedding from an ocean away can definitely be stressful. But, we truly trusted LEK, their input, and their intent. Marie was so patient with us, and went well above her duties. She was always there if we had a random question or no idea where our venue should be. The biggest indicator of how good they are at their job is that we didn’t have to worry about anything during our wedding day. We were able to fully enjoy and absorb the day including our family, the games you put together for us, décor, food, etc. They truly put our minds at ease. The experience was so wonderful :)

I whole-heartedly recommend Legacy Events as the best wedding planner out there. Marie created the most amazing and memorable wedding day for me! From the moment I connected with her, I could tell how genuine she was. I felt like I could completely trust her with all aspects, and I will be forever grateful for all that she did to ensure my day happened! It felt like a real miracle that it all happened as planned, and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. I’m sorry for the delay in posting, Marie! Marie coordinated the most amazing wedding for Ken and I on October 20, 2014. We had worked with Marie for about a year to plan our big day. I had interviewed with over 12 wedding planners in Kauai and Marie stood out above them all. From the beginning I could tell she was extremely organized, experienced and easy to work with. I felt comfortable discussing my vision, and my budget with her. The entire planning process was stress free. I was worried about feeling overwhelmed trying to plan a wedding from Canada, but Marie always put me at ease. She was always very responsive and usually responded to my emails within the same day. We found the vendor suggestions from Marie to be great. The week before our wedding, hurricane Ana began to form south of the Hawaiian islands. Marie contacted us and quickly began working on a plan B (and a plan C!) for us. As we got closer to the date, the storm was expected to pass Kauai the night before the wedding. Marie worked tirelessly with all of the vendors to ensure we were able to still have the wedding on the day as planned even though one vendor was not able to confirm until the morning of. Her strong relationship with all of the vendors was instrumental, as they were all willing to be flexible and go the extra mile. Our wedding literally would not have been possible without Marie’s efforts. When there was a hiccup with one vendor, I really felt that Marie went to bat or us and tried her best to represent our interests first. Ken and I are so grateful and would definitely recommend her as a wedding planner! She puts in 110%, and her work ethic is unbelievable. She’s the nicest and most patient person and always follows up. The coordination on the day of was seamless, and I never needed to stress at all. All of her recommended vendors did a fantastic job and all of our guests are still talking about how amazing the day and all of the details were! Thanks Marie and Tiare! We just celebrated our incredible wedding and couldn't be happier. It was a magical experience that everyone is still talking about. We had so many compliments on the wedding planners. We found Legacy Events Kauai after some googling and started working with them 6-7 months prior to our wedding. Marie and Tiare are fantastic, Kauai born and raised. When we first started this process I really had no idea what to expect, as I did not have a vision of what I wanted our wedding to be. We decided on a destination wedding to give our guests a much needed vacation. My husband and I are quite busy people and weren't exactly excited about planning a wedding (not really our thing). That is where we found LEK, which we are so thankful for. They are incredible organized and really professional. Marie starts with an initial conference call to discuss all the "big picture" stuff. We were clueless and Marie really guided us. Over the next few months we had 2-3 more conferences calls and then emails probably every 1-2 weeks. On the initial call she really did a good job of setting realistic expectations of what to expect a wedding of our size to cost. We were a bit cautious at first that their reimbursement is a percentage of the total cost of the wedding. However, not once did we feel we were being "up-selled", if anything they went out of their way to lower costs when possible. We wanted to keep things as local as possible and they really delivered. I believe all of the vendors were local, and really wonderful people. And they stayed perfectly on budget, actually a little under-budget. They work through a system of google docs so everything is very transparent. Marie is very straightforward in a way that is perfect for wedding planning. They work with selected vendors that they have experience with, they would often present us with "high, middle, low" cost options. For the venue they came up with great options and described them as "wow-factor", venues where everyone stayed together, and beautiful but budget friendly. Our wedding was a mixed Hindu/non-denominational wedding that included a short hindu ceremony with a fire ceremony. They made the impossible possible, they even found a sitar player in Kauai. We ended having our wedding at Na Aina Kai botanical gardens (wow-factor). It was an incredibly beautiful setting, but did require some complicated shuttling of guests around the grounds, and their day of coordination was incredible. It was truly seamless, everyone was so impressed. My favorite part was at the rehearsal, Marie gave everyone her number and said "From this point forward no one is to ask the bride or groom any more questions, we are going to ensure they have the most perfect wedding day", and it was truly the best day of our lives. All of our guests are still talking about it and we could not be happier!

One of the best decisions my husband and I made while planning our destination Kauai wedding was working with Marie at Legacy Events! We are writing this review almost two months after our big day, and we are still reminiscing about all of the details that Marie and Tiare helped bring to life. Thanks to their diligence, eye for detail, and organization, our wedding day was the most amazing, memorable, and beautiful day of our lives. We are so lucky that we had them in our corner, and I can truly say that I came away with two new friends in Kauai. You might as well stop reading this review here and contact them ASAP. However, if you still need convincing, here are a few details that stick out in our minds as we reflect on our yearlong wedding planning experience: - I came across Legacy through online searches/reviews when my husband and I decided to have a destination Kauai wedding. From the start, Marie was extremely organized and communicated her options/pricing/timeline very clearly. Like most newly engaged couples, we were overwhelmed with how to begin the wedding planning process, and Marie was able to break it down into digestible chunks. It was clear from our first call with Marie that she would not only partner with us in planning our wedding, but she would manage the nitty-gritty details, allowing us to focus on the "fun" stuff. - After we decided to book Legacy for our wedding, my husband and I planned a trip to Kauai to check out venues and vendors. Marie helped get us in touch with all of the venues and key vendors to ensure that we had a productive visit. Her professionalism and expertise throughout the vendor selection process was incredibly helpful to us. While Marie did not impose any particular vendors upon us, she did tailor her recommendations based on our vision/desires/needs/budget. Through her guidance and recommendations, we were able to select all of our key vendors and the venue by the end of our trip. - Once we returned to the mainland, Marie and Tiare were in regular communication to help define our vision. Even when I was unable to verbalize exactly what look or color scheme I was interested in, they were able to ask the right questions to help me focus in on what was most important to me. As the vision came together, we had so much fun brainstorming together over the phone; they often inspired details that I would not have otherwise thought of. - Marie was incredibly organized and diligent when it came to budget management. She made sure to track our budget throughout the process. She understood what was most important to us and encouraged us to target our budget towards those items. In contrast, she also made sure to economize in areas that were less important. - Once we arrived in Kauai for our wedding week, Marie and Tiare went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that my husband and I were taken care of and stress-free. I have been to so many wedding in which the bride and groom remain stressed out before and during the wedding. My husband and I had a truly amazing experience because Marie and Tiare worked behind the scenes to connect all the dots. In the end, our guests also had an amazing time and complimented us on how beautifully everything turned out. If you are lucky enough to be married in paradise, do yourself a favor and work with Marie and her team. It will be the best choice you make for your wedding...other than your choice in partner :)

Marie helped us plan our small wedding with only one month prior notice. She was spectacular in coordinating vendors for the wedding, remaining in constant communication with my wife and I, and helping us customize the ceremony. She has everything under control on our wedding day, and the ceremony itself went off without a hitch and was very touching for ourselves, family and guests. Legacy Events is the best wedding planner on Kauai!

I don't think we can express in words how fantastic Marie was on our most precious, special day!! We came all the way from the UK so had to put our complete trust in her...she exceeded expectations! I must have exchanged hundreds of emails with her before we arrived. The time and care she put into our day a year (at least) in advance was amazing! She thought of everything... Our vendors were superb! Zest Kauai for our video, Brian Finch and his team of photographers, Micheal Stauber our most amazing chef...it was all perfect! We can't thank Marie enough. We had never been to Hawaii and we ended up getting married in paradise surrounded by the most incredible people. We cannot recommend her enough. She will make your day fantastic... We feel she was not just our wedding planner but became a friend and you can't beat that!!

If you are considering a wedding in Kauai, there is no better planner than Marie Foster and her team at Legacy Events. Marie is everything you want in a planner; detail orientated, has strategic vision while being a flawless executor, good at setting expectations, fun to work with, has strong relationships with the best vendors on the island, flexible and open to ideas (no matter how last minute!), amazing crisis management skills, can work extremely well and calmly under pressure and keeps a close eye on the budget (very important!). Our vision: A 3 day wedding event for our 70 guests. We decided if people are flying all the way to Kauai, we wanted to give them the best experience we could offer; high quality food, wine, entertainment all with our personal touch. Day 1, we had a welcome dinner, held at Common Grounds, Day 2 was the wedding ceremony and reception held at Wilcox Estate in Hanalei, and Day 3, we had a food truck and lawn games for our farewell brunch. Process: Compared to the two other planners we interviewed, Marie stood out for her professionalism, no-nonsense approach, significant experience with big events, amazing relationships with vendors, creativity and humour. Coming from running large global corporate events ourselves in San Francisco, we were truly impressed and couldn’t believe our luck in finding her. We even loved that she interviewed us as much as we interviewed her when we first spoke. Planning a wedding well (i.e. without stress) is about true partnership between the planner and bride/groom. That’s exactly what it was like with Marie from the start. Several months before our wedding Marie organized an incredible two day tour of potential vendors on the island. It was here that we saw Marie in her element. Never underestimate the value of local knowledge in navigating the very slow-paced, laissez-faire business culture in Kauai. With Marie’s local knowledge, being a native herself, coupled with high expectations of herself and her vendors, she made sure we got what we wanted every time. Her persistence in getting the ukulele player we liked for our ceremony, was a great example of her going above and beyond to get what we wanted. The trip helped in deciding our final vendors for all three events and gave us complete and utter confidence in Marie to deliver the wedding of our dreams. The 3 day event: The wedding week was the best week of my life. Due to Marie’s persistence with vendors, contingency planning (in case it rained!) and calm and confident demeanour, I never worried once about the wedding or the 2 other events around it! It was a huge amount of work for her and her team but she always did it with a smile on her face. Needless to say each event was so special and perfect - from the quality of the food and beverages, entertainment, decor, lighting, to the photographers. Basically, I can't recommend Marie more highly and would hire her again in a heartbeat. We could have never had the day (or 3 days I should say) we had without her. Our guests were in awe of the event we put on and it is honestly all because of Marie!

Let me just start by the title, I wanted to be involved in my wedding and was strict to my budget. I had planned a lot of DIY. I almost didn't get a planner. LADIES always get a planner. When I called Legacy Events Kauai Marie gladly accepted and understood what I was dreaming in my head! I am so grateful for all the knowledge Marie has of event planning and this island. I went to her knowing what I wanted and that was it. She gave me so many options and resources to work with. Every vendor I called loved working with Legacy Events Kauai, Which let me know I had made the right choice. Marie was so organized it made it easy on me to not be stressed and to focus on my wedding and having fun. I love that she shares a Google doc system that allowed me to see invoices from vendors and anything as soon as it changed. She also prepares a sheets with a huge breakdown for each vendor to see. For example any notes like my first song to play, specific decor, and directions was all included. This was so helpful to me because it was just sent straight to the vendors so no questions came to me. The timeline she prepared as well is just amazing. There was no excuse for anyone to not know what was going on. The weekend of our wedding was when two hurricane were suppose to hit the island. Thankfully for everyone and the island it weakened and passed. Through all the days leading up Marie allowed me to feel relaxed. Without her professionalism, organization and true love of planning weddings I would have been a wreck. The day of our wedding it was clear skies. Marie checked in throughout the day with me letting me know how things were going. I loved that 30 minutes before walking down the isle, She walks in to give me a heads up. Throughout the night she was on top of the things we had discussed and stuck to the timeline we had created. Without her doing this nothing would have got done. I will always recommended legacy Events Kauai to anyone looking for a event planner. Legacy Events Kauai is professional, has great communication, organized, friendly, knowledge, budget conscious, and most of all compassionate for what that do.

Legacy Events Kauai should definitely be considered if you're getting married on Kauai. They were one of if not THE ONLY planner to call me back at all, and also within a timely manner. Secondly, they were willing to work with my budget as well as my desire to be very hands on, since I was from Kauai and most of my vendors were friends. My PRIMARY need for a planner was for help with my decorations and needing essentially, another ME on my wedding day since I would be MIA "enjoying" my day. Marie is a big time events planner with a lot of catering experience under her belt and she's the main person in charge but I mostly worked with her day-of planner Tiare who was absolutely wonderful. Tiare responded to every email, kept a list of notes, stayed on me regarding tasks without being overbearing, I'm pretty sure she reworked a vacation around me at one point because I flew home on a whim to site check. The amount of time and energy Tiare threw into my wedding day is why I recommend LEK 100%. Heres' my advice to future brides using a planner: 1) Make sure you have a contract for EVERY vendor. Marie's husband was our sound system guy for the ceremony, and while he worked very hard in the rain... the wet weather damaged the microphone and no one could hear our ceremony. The equipment DID work long enough for our songs to play as we made it down the aisle. I was told after-the-fact that sound guys can cancel on you day-of, due to rain, so I'm grateful he stuck it out for us. 2) Because of Marie's strong catering background, she is very thorough in questioning the catering staff you hire, so if it's a family friend doing you a favor just make sure they really know their stuff, it benefits you in the long run. 3) Rain on my wedding day. No one can know for sure whether it will happen, but I wish I would have spent a little more time with my planners creating at least a rough-draft plan of "what-if"...I ended up making a few day of decisions on my wedding day without my grooms input. 4) Once the reception took place we didn't really see the planners much, perhaps a good thing, trying to give us our space, but we botched our cake cutting because we didn't know we weren't suppose to cut the top- and our marriage license never got signed at any point in the night. 5) Hairstylist Marie recommended Alanna Agustin who did not provide me with a contract, and there was some confusion after the fact, so again make sure every vendor has a contract. Include the most mundane details including how many "ethnic" bridesmaids you have and how many of them want to pay additionally for fake eyelashes. Do not sign anything on a vendors iphone without seeing the expense first. The reception was decorated BRILLIANLY which was my #1 purpose for a planner, they were attentive in the months leading up to the wedding, and they were recommended by other vendors I worked with. Rain on my day made things extra complicated, and we all did the best we could. Marie is decisive and cuts through to the point and most of all she is willing to work with you...and if you have the pleasure of working with Tiare, you really lucked out. At the end of the day I was married to the love of my life, and that's all that matter
