e fact that the owner has provided a COVID 19 policy on her site, I was not aware of it until I arrived at the salon on the day of my daughter's wedding. However, even If I had seen the notice in advance, it would have been utterly useless to me because I would have been unable to have seen it at the time of the appointment and would have been unable to bet back any of the deposit that had been paid to the salon, if I had opted to cancel and make other arrangements. The appointment was made pre-COVID and I would have had no way of knowing what their policy would turn out to be. At the salon I normally go to and the barbershop my husband goes to, the staff are always masked, regardless of the vaccine status of their client. I thought this was standard practice in Michigan, however, I may be mistaken. Even grocery stores and other service industries require masking for staff. When my daughter, who was maid of honor, requested the staff member doing her hair, to wear a mask, she emphatically refused. My daughter, at no time asked her her vaccine status and was herself vaccinated but wearing a mask, so she was not being unreasonable to ask the person fixing her hair to do the same. Because my daughter is a hospital pharmacist, she has seen many young, unvaccinated people die COVID related deaths. Her experiences have made her EXTREMELY aware of the dangers of this virus; so the stylist's refusal triggered a severe panic attack in my daughter that left her crying and visibly shaking. At first, she was preparing to go home and try her best to fix her own hair, but decided that she would be unable to do so in time for the wedding and decided to let the stylist do her hair. Unfortunately, the stylist added insult to injury, when she INSISTED that my daughter tell her, repeatedly, that she was comfortable with receiving the service without a mask. I find this response not only insensitive, but demeaning as well. What sort of question is that!!! I equate that with assaulting someone and then asking them to thank them for the black eye! I understand that we are all weary of having our lives turned upside down by COVID. We all look forward to the time we can all feel some relief from rules and regulations; however, the stylist was providing a service that was by no means free. Doesn't this entitle the client to some consideration when the request is as simple as wearing a mask for a half an hour, even if they feel it unnecessary/uncomfortable? Such inconsiderate behavior is to me a sigh of a lack of character on the part of one human to another. I hope in the future that others will see this review and practice compassion toward those who are very frightened by the danger that accompanies a possible, positive COVID test.

ven the unforeseen circumstances, Lena would not respond to my email- odd because she had always been very prompt with responding.  Five days later, I sent her another email to which she responded that no, she was not issuing any refunds despite the situation but that I could put my entire deposit towards in store credit (hair and makeup services only).  However, this was only good until the end of the year giving me just a few short months to spend a significant amount of money.  To make matters worse, a large sum of my deposit was for her travel expenses.  When I asked if she could at least refund the travel expenses as she was no longer having to travel for my wedding, again she ignored me and never responded.  I am extremely disappointed to say the least and would never recommend Lena Shkreli to anyone based on her lack of professionalism.

They made everyone in the bridal party look absolutely stunning!! Even worked with my mother in law who doesn't get her hair done and never had her makeup done and she is was so so happy with how it turned out. Could not recommend them more!

They perfectly executed what I, and all of my bridal party, wanted for our hair and makeup - seamlessly finding the perfect balance between natural and glam that we wanted. They were incredibly responsive and organized, coming up with a well thought out timeline and always responding quick to my questions. Additionally, Jacquelyn gave my the very best hair cut leading up to my wedding and blow-out for my rehearsal dinner. I will only be coming here now for all my hair and makeup needs! They arrived on time and finished 20 minutes early which was so nice to have a little extra time so we didn't have to rush or anything. how my hair and makeup turned out for that wedding, so it was no question when I started planning my wedding that I would be using Lena again for my own big day! We had Lena and two of her stylists come out to our hotel suite for my wedding to do hair and makeup for 14 women – that’s a big undertaking! They showed up excited for the day and took charge of the room, setting up their station. Everyone had their own preferences of how they wanted their individual hair or makeup done, in totally different styles and for totally different ages (all three of our grandmothers had their hair and makeup done, along with both mothers, along with myself and my bridesmaids), they knew how to do any style or treatment that was requested of them! Or when someone didn’t have a preference, and just asked for their expertise, they were able to do a gorgeous style from their own direction. Lena did both my hair and makeup, and I felt like a queen in her treatment. She made my makeup look natural and not over the top, while really defining my personal face traits. My hair was a soft low up-do with delicate curls. I LOVED how I looked and that happiness showed through the rest of the day and through the pictures. I was finished with my hair and makeup around 1:30pm, the ceremony wasn’t until 6:00pm and the reception went until midnight – and through ALL of the dancing, eating, hugging and happy tears, my hair and makeup looked just as flawless at midnight as it did when Lena finished at 1pm. I HIGHLY recommend Lena and her team for your wedding day glam squad. Thank you for making my day absolutely beautiful, Lena!!

First of they're both so sweet and listen so well to everything I said! Lena gave me her professional opinion which I loved! I mean I've never done this before and she's the pro, she does this all the time. I listened to go with her suggestions for my hair type and I absolutely loved the look she created for me! Kayla was also great! She explained everything to me and what looks better in photos and even talked me into lashes cause I had never worn fake eyelashes before and I'm now hooked! Wish I could put them on myself everyday! So needless to say my wedding day look was perfect! They're energy is so calm and didn't rush anyone on the wedding and finished in perfect time. I am actually from Kentucky and the way I found Lena was when I attended a close friends wedding in July of 2017, I was in shock with how beautiful the bride and her bridesmaids looked. When I got engaged that following December, the first thing I did was ask my friend who she had used, and then I promptly booked Lena for our wedding in August 2018. She was the first vendor I booked and I could not have been happier with the outcome. Lena and her team were the sweetest and funniest people, just the kind of people you want to be around on the morning of the biggest day of your life. I have recommended Lena to all of my friends in Michigan and I will also be using her again in 2019 for another wedding I am attending in Detroit. I can not recommend her enough!!! joy to work with prior to the wedding day. She always responded to emails quickly, and rearranged her schedule in order to fit in my trials as I was coming from out of town. Her salon in Downtown Rochester is cute and intimate, so I was usually the only one there for my trials. I felt that she was able to fully focus her attention on what she was doing and what I wanted. I loved working with her so much that I started using her as my regular hair stylist! Most importantly, the hair and makeup for myself and bridal party lasted for the entire day and night. We had an early ceremony, and everyone's hair and makeup looked as good at midnight as it did when we first got it done. I felt like the most beautiful version of my self on my wedding day and I have Lena to thank for that. Her whole team listened to what each girl wanted, and made everyone feel so glam. The bridesmaids that don't normally wear makeup were thrilled with how natural they looked. The high quality job done by Lena and her team looked amazing in our wedding photos, and I could not be happier with all of the services we received!

Two weeks before my big day I receive a phone call from Lena stating that her assistant just quit and that she could refer some friends of hers and give me their contact information to call. A professional hair stylist would not notify a bride two weeks before her wedding of this kind of news, instead she would do anything in her power find someone BEFORE contacting the client. I felt this was extremely unprofessional. The only reason why I didn't give her a 1 star is because she did refer me to another stylist who was amazing and understood what I was looking for when it came to my updo. I hope this never happens to anyone else. Keep looking elsewhere brides!!
