As a wedding vendor working with the Lied Lodge team is always a great experience! They have multiple rooms available to rent out, have a large and supportive staff, great food, and are super collaborative. I've planned a variety of styles and colors and each time the event turns out great! Highly recommend.
This was our ideal wedding venue! Patty & Rachel were so great to work with, and they helped with all our questions & concerns. They were very responsive and informative. The food was delicious ! Our guests especially loved the fire pit and late night pretzel bites. Overall a wonderful reception and would recommend to everyone!
We had our wedding at the Lied Lodge at the end of September, and we had the most amazing experience. Patti and Rachel were so helpful during the planning process and the day of the event. Rachel met with us multiple times before the wedding to make sure we had all the details selected and planned. She was also very quick to answer all of our questions during the months leading up to the wedding. It was so great to not have any worries about our venue. She and Patti then made sure everything we had planned was perfectly implemented during our wedding. They were truly a joy to work with.
Really the entire Lied Lodge team was spectacular. The beverage director, Sara, was so fun and made selecting our signature drink one of our favorite parts of the planning process. During our wedding, the banquet staff made sure that we had everything we needed. Everyone received their food very quickly and things seemed to run seamlessly. Chef Grainger was also incredible. Many of our guests told us that the food was the best they’ve ever had at a wedding. Even our wedding photographer commented on how good it was.
We also had quite a few guests from out of town and everyone seemed to really enjoy staying at the hotel and enjoying all of the activities Arbor Day Farm has to offer. And the beauty of the property speaks for itself. The Lied really offers a one-of-a-kind wedding experience. We feel so lucky to have had our wedding at such a wonderful place with such an outstanding team.
Any questions?
The Lied Lodge and their staff made our planning, set up, and wedding day so incredibly easy! Rachel and Patricia made sure we had everything we needed throughout the entire process and were extremely accommodating to any additional needs we had. The support staff (food, bar, set up) checked in with us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed and even helped us unload our trailer. These staff member really are a dream team and worked so hard to make our day perfect.
Lied Lodge proved to be the BEST location to have our wedding! The wedding planners on staff make sure that everything from vendors to food and linens are ready to go for your special day! With the hotel within walking distance, guests could safely get back after the reception and the catering provided on site made it easy to have many of our vendors in one place. We have NO REGRETS from our special day because Rachel and Patricia made sure that someone was always available to answer questions and even made sure to be there on our day to ensure that everything ran smoothly. We had multiple consultations prior to our wedding and they answered all of our questions so that we knew what to expect as well! Our catering chef, Kevin was THE BEST! He even ended up making our wedding cake and made our food tastings so special. This is a special venue and we visit every chance we get!
From the 5 star service to the beautiful lodge and scenery, my wedding weekend was magical and a dream come true! We had plenty of things to do and had all the pre-wedding events there. The guests loved, it food is world class, and you have the best wedding coordinator around!
The Lied Lodge is such a beautiful venue! We knew we wanted something that was natural and elegant, and the lodge fit that perfectly. It is definitely on the pricey-side, and you are required to use their food and drinks, along with a 25% service charge on everything. The reason that I had rated it lower is that we felt like there were many instances that communication was handled poorly and expectations that were discussed previously were not met, even throughout the wedding weekend. Overall we had a nice experience, just expected better customer service for how much we paid.
We loved this venue! The people we worked with we're so helpful and made the day run so smoothly given some last minute changes that were necessary. Highly recommend!

Thank you Meg for the wonderful comment, we will definitely share with our teams. It was our pleasure working with you and we are so glad that you chose Lied Lodge & Arbor Day Farm for your special day. We wish you the best and hope to see you ...
visiting us in the future! Take Care!
The venue itself was beautiful, and the food was very good, but be aware that the “wedding coordinator” included in the rental fee does not actually coordinate anything other than the menu. If you book here, hire an event coordinator separately to ensure all of your wedding day details are handled.
Patricia at Lied Lodge helped us plan our wedding through all of the COVID-19 complications and did such an amazing job! The lodge was so understanding when we had to move our wedding to another venue and they gave us back a full refund on our down payment. We are so sad we couldn't get married at such a beautiful property, but will recommend it to any future couples!

We loved hosting our wedding at the Lied Lodge! It was such a beautiful venue and exactly what we needed for all of our out of town guests. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed our night very much. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that several of our guests (including my mom and day-of coordinator) told us that the bartender was extremely rude on a couple of occasions. Aside from that we really did enjoy our day and plan on returning to the Lied Lodge for our anniversary
Amazing people to work with. They were always available to answer any question that came up. The day of our wedding was the most beautiful day because they were on top of all the details. I am so thankful we went with the Lied Lodge, our day wouldn't have been perfect without them!
We got married outside in the beautiful lawn underneath the floral-decorated arbor with a cocktail hour following. Yard games, music, drinks and snacks made the hour enjoyable for all. We had the reception in the Historic Morton Barns that are open to the outdoors and being a beautiful day, it was lovely. The Lied Lodge staff took care of everything without me ever having to prompt them. The wedding day coordinator communicated well between her team and I for a day that flowed well. The food was great - we served a chef-carved prime rib and a grilled salmon along with garlic roasted mashed potatoes, green bean amandine, dinner rolls and a salad. The venue is beautiful. It fit about 200 in the barn and the rest of the guests were still able to see out in the lawn at tables. The rooms at the Lodge are nice for guests to stay and then no one has to drive around. Overall, everything went well and we were able to have a beautiful, fun and relaxed outdoor wedding.
The wedding coordinator was absolutely wonderful throughout the entire process. My only concern was that there seemed to be a lack of communication between the coordinator and the day-of staff. If I had known that the coordinator would not be there for the event, I would have handled things differently.
I had both my wedding ceremony and reception at the Lied Lodge. It was absolutely beautiful!
Our guests loved the rooms, the staff was professional and accommodating.
Without Patty Pierce, our hotel contact, it wouldn't have been the same. She was an absolute treat to work with! She went above and beyond in so many ways.
The food was also delicious! When you think 'buffet', you may think that the food can only be so good, but that was far from the truth! Everything surpassed our expectations. We love the Lied Lodge and will absolutely be back!
The rooms were clean and newly renovated. The lodge was beautiful and the family really enjoyed feeling as though they were on a vacation. The staff was very helpful and polite. The Olympic sized pool was a huge hit with all of the kids as well as the adults. Overall we had a wonderful stay and everyone had a great time! I would recommend the Lied Lodge to anybody having a wedding in the area.
Having our wedding at the Lied Lodge Conference Center and Arbor Day Farm was the best decision we could have ever made in terms of planning our wedding. The entire staff at the Lied Lodge was friendly and accommodating, and the wedding coordinator Patty was beyond fantastic! My husband and I have a lot of family spread throughout the country and we live in the Kansas City are, so we were looking for a centralized place where we could have a small and intimate wedding without breaking the bank. Originally, I was drawn to the location because of how beautiful the locale is, but it wasn't until we seriously started thinking about it as our wedding locale that we realized how easy it would be to plan our entire wedding weekend at the Lied Lodge. All together we had our Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony, Reception and lodging at the Lied Lodge, which saved us a lot of time/stress. I truly do not think our wedding could have gone any better, and a lot of that is due to the wonderful staff and accommodations at the Lied Lodge! We cannot wait to go back each year for our anniversary!
Beautiful setting! Attendees raved about the food and the venue.
My wedding was held at the Lied Lodge Barns in August 2013. What a beautiful location! My groom and I had a lovely day, as did our roughly 80 guests. If the price doesn't scare you away, then you will certainly enjoy the lovely landscape for your big day.
My disappointment rests with the lack of attention to detail or concern their wedding coordinator and chief of catering paid to my wedding. I had specifically requested some nice, high dollar champagne for our toast and dinner and they were totally forgotten. The catering staff had to rush to the hotel just before our cake cutting and all they could muster a few bottles of Andre (roughly $5 a bottle, Im guessing). Additionally, I had previously arranged with the wedding coordinator to offer our guests an open bar during the cocktail hour and reception. This did not happen and our guests were charged for their liquor drinks. (My sweet groom did not inform me of this until the day after, and also reported the rude and accousatory demeanor of the bar staff when he asked about the presence of a cash register since they should be taking no money at the reception.) It would have been nice, if not too much to ask, for the wedding coordinator to be present during the reception to handle these issues, yet she was no where to be found. Additionally, if your food and drink costs are no where near the required minimum, be prepared to "eat" the cost. We had inquired if we could take any unopened wine home with us (since we had already purchased it) and were denied. Additionally, any unused beer left in the keg (which was already paid for) was wheeled up to the hotel bar by the staff and re-sold to guests there. The coordinator even offered to help create "signature drinks" to display for the reception. We chose two that would compliment our wedding colors nicely and sounded fun. The guests complained about the taste, and these "beautiful" drinks were hidden in 5 gal Gatorade tubs wrapped in napkins. The wedding coordinator had previously sounded accommodating and willing to work with us on the cost, and ultimately never came through on her offerings. This might all sound picky, but doesn't a bride wish for a smooth sailing wedding day?! Especially when it costs such a pretty penny!
On a brighter note, the vineyard was a beautiful backdrop for photos. And the food was pretty tasty!
We recently were married on the Hazelnut lawn at the Lied Lodge. The scenery was absolutely beautiful! The reception hall was the perfect size for about 200 guests, and again, a beautiful place to have a wedding. Although I went through the planning process with the Lied feeling like I was 'just another wedding' (charges for EVERY LITTLE thing, and we didn't even get a chance to taste the food because the chef was 'busy') on the day of, the staff went out of their way to make me feel very special. Aside from an issue we had with my groom's and my room being charged when we were told it was free(which was corrected immediately) I had nothing else to worry about! Overall, I would recommend the Lied to any future bride!
I had my reception at the Morton Barns at the Lied Lodge. I have to say it was pricey, but totally worth it. Adessa what a huge help and listened to every question and concern I had. The food was pretty pricey, but delicious! Last the venue was gorgeous! The barns are historic and you do not need to decorate much as they speak for themselves. Anyone looking for a laid back country chic wedding should look here! Amazing.
Beautiful place that set the perfect atmosphere for the weekend. Because of weather, we had to rearrange some things, but the staff was very helpful in making sure it was exactly what we wanted.
We stayed here on our wedding night. Best hotel
Of our entire honeymoon !
I was married in the Historic Barns - both our ceremony and reception. I couldn't tell you how many guests were awed by the setting. It was beautiful at the beginning of September.
I had problems with the room arrangements and that is why I am not giving 5 stars. They put our pastor in the room next door to ours, even though we had a note on our block of rooms to not have anyone in our reserved block next to us. This issue took my bridesmaid quite a while to resolve (and we didn't find out about it until 15 minutes before the ceremony). This issue made me late for my own wedding, and obviously, I wasn't very happy about that! They did fix the situation, but it took way too much work to resolve on our end, considering they were in the wrong and I were supposed to be getting married when all of this occurred.
I can't say enough great things about the Lied Lodge and Arbor Day Farms. We were two Bostonians heading back to NE where the bride grew up to host our wedding, and we wanted a location that allowed us to have the ceremony and reception on site and offer lodging to our guests so that no one had to drive. The Venue, Staff, Food and lodging were all wonderful. We got married on the lawn in front of the hazelnut orchard, and had our reception in the Morton Barns. We had a bonfire the night before and brunch the next morning in the main dining room. All of our guests stayed at the lodge. The wedding coordinator Adessa is wonderful. She assisted us in planning out the day, recommended in town vendors, and worked with us to make the day as special as possible. Everything was just wonderful, our day was magical and we threw a wedding that would have cost us probably triple the cost for the same event had we done it in New England. It was definitely the right venue and very reasonable for the exceptional service and event space. The Lodge is a wonderful way to throw a "green" wedding as well. Their chef specializes in as much locally sourced and organic food as possible and all the food was delicious. Since we knew the money we were spending on our wedding day was going back into the Arbor Day foundation which owns the Lied Lodge, that made it even better. They even plant enough trees to off-set the carbon foot print the of the lodge and conference center and Arbor Day Farms. It was a wonderful, unique venue, I had so many compliments from our guests, and it is a very family friendly place, with lots to do for kids and adults from a tree house adventure to golfing and hiking. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding day and a better wedding venue.
I chose the Lied Lodge and conference center because I come from a super small town in Iowa with limited resources. The lied lodge was less than an hour away. The event planner for the Lodge was great. Met with her twice and was fully concerned on making sure everything was the way I wanted it. The venue itself was beautiful. We took BEAUTIFUL outdoor photos. So many great spots on the grounds. We rented a separate building for the ceremony which was GORGEOUS- especially at night with the fireplace going. Absolutely picture perfect. We had a prime rib buffet for the reception (YUMMY). It is a bit on the pricey side, but worth every penny.
The Lodge is absolutely beautiful, and made a stunning backdrop for my wedding. I had the ceremony on the Hazelnut Lawn, with the reception in the Open Barn. From what I hear the food was excellent (stupid nerves!). The reason I am rating it down, though, is that I am not satisfied with the staff. It was difficult receiving answers to our questions, our cake fell over and they refuse to refund part of it or even our cake cutting fee, they didn't know about our smores, so we only got 15 minutes to do it (cost $500+!!!) and wouldn't refund part of it, never told us about a $100 chair moving fee, months into the planning we were told that plated dinners were out of the question (even after discussing the meals we wanted), and didn't receive a food quote until days before the wedding- cost over $15 more per person. I was just very displeased with the whole check out process as well. My father paid for the entire wedding party's rooms, and yet my husband was still charged for them as well. This still has yet to be cleared up. While the Lodge is gorgeous, I have been really let down by their practices.
I stress. It's what I do. But the Lied Lodge (And in particular, Adessa, our coordinator) were on top of everything. I bothered Adessa nonstop with emails and calls for the entire year up to our wedding. My husband was deployed for much of the time and Adessa was my life-line and kept me on point with all the planning. She and the Lodge were helpful in all things from the food (which was great) to the hotel rooms (which were cheap) and even in comping a small party room for the next morning's gift opening. Everything was perfect and I would highly, HIGHLY recommend them for any/all wedding needs.
Great place to have a wedding. It was very convenient to have everything in one location - rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and hotel rooms for all of the guests. Beautiful area! We had our ceremomy on the Hazelnut Lawn and reception in the West Assembly.
We got married in the Historic Barns at the Lied Lodge and every step of the process was easy and fun. Their wedding coordinator is exceptional and the staff was helpful and courteous. We had a fantastic experience!
