uldn’t have gone with a better vendor. It was nice having them all grouped together from one company rather than having to find a vendor for each phase of the wedding. Richard is very professional and his hard word and caring showed the whole night through. He blew us away with his MCing the whole evening and the fact that he could do that along with being our photographer for the night was impressive to say the least. The way he was there and you didn’t even notice was refreshing to see. Each of the staff he has were amazing and very professional. Limelight keeps you on track the whole time during the planning process with their awesome portal that you fill in with your details of how you want the evening to look. Very nice to be able to see your wedding come to life before you. The other added bonus you get is that during your reception, the videographer is hard at work collecting footage of your wedding day and while the reception is happening he is hard at work editing his footage then they present it to the couple and their guests right on the spot DURING your reception. I have never seen this done before, that by far was the cherry on top that confirmed to me that we went with the right vendor. The fact that he could be right there in the room with you and you didn’t even know it, the way he and his staff just glide through the event was very impressive! It was nice to see just how relaxed we were as we were getting ready, The way they worked the event the whole day was refreshing to see. Richard was very smooth and calming he even threw in some humor which was very well received. I have never seen a wedding flow so naturally, They by far were the cherry on top that finalized it for me that we went with the correct vendor. Richard and his staff were very impressive during the whole day/night of our daughter’s wedding. You could see they loved what they do and their dedication to it showed throughout the whole wedding. So in short, you can’t go wrong with Limelight, they were worth every penny we ever spent!

ation at the time of this post), would not allow in person meetings at current location. I went to their office to discuss concerns and it was abandoned. I repeatedly asked for examples of photographers work and was not allowed any. I didn’t even have full name of person taking wedding pics until week of my wedding and he said he wasn’t allowed to show me his work. When I asked about a sunset photo on the deck that I specifically chose ballroom for I was told it could be photoshopped in, very impersonal and not relational to couples. I felt like just a gig and a number and the only priority communication made was if they wanted more money. This company puts responsibility on the client to schedule services, meetings, types of meetings and then has no accountability or remorse when they cancel, don’t provide or don’t show up. Save yourself heartache and great financial loss, find a photographer with many years experience for one of the most important days of your life! Spend a hundred bucks on Amazon and do your own uplighting.

y! Starting with our engagement shoot. Richard worked with us to make sure we could have our shoot right after Christmas when we made a short trip up to see family. Leading up to our wedding day they worked with us and our venue to help create a timeline for day of. Throughout the day/evening Nick and Philip worked seamlessly with our venue to make sure everything happened on time. We didn't have to do a thing other than enjoy our day!
Our photographer Philip was absolutely fantastic! He was so easy to work with and came prepared to make sure we got the most out of the time we had with him. The shots he got were even better than I could have imagined. My husband lost his mother just a month prior to our wedding. Philip made sure to get some very creative shots with my mother-in-law's memorial table in the background. Those pictures will truly be treasured for years to come! His attention to detail helped us capture every aspect of such a memorable day. All of our pictures turned out so amazing!
Our DJ Nick really knows how to get a party started and keep it going! There wasn't a single song all evening that we didn't love! We went a little untraditional using songs with lyrics during our ceremony and he did a fantastic job of transitioning along the way. He did a great job of reading the crowd and playing the perfect songs at the perfect time. Throughout the evening he kept things on track to make everything so easy for my husband and I.

ur wedding last year, we were nervous because we were getting married out of state, and didn’t know how much or little that would complicate communication with our various vendors. Limelight had no issues with this, and we were able to complete 99% of our communication via phone and email. They were responsive and thorough in all aspects of our wedding planning, including helping with a very detailed timeline. My husband and I decided to go with both photography and DJ services, and we are so happy we did this! Not only did it save us money, but knowing that the photographer and DJ were on the same page for our wedding provided us with a feeling of security that everything would go according to plan..which it did! Richard took charge of our photography and we are thrilled with the results. He took ideas straight from my Pinterest page and the shots turned out so beautifully. He did a great job helping me feel at ease with the process, and he was such a professional! We had Nate as a DJ, and he was so fun to work with! He was open to our ideas, and made sure he included all of our “must-plays.” My husband and I are not super picky about which songs were played and told him to feel the crowd, knowing that as a professional, he would have a better idea of what gets people on their feet. We were very happy with the way Limelight catered to us leading up to the wedding. We felt like they (Richard - Owner) was very willing to take time out of busy days to talk with us and help establish a plan.
With that being said, we were ver...
y unhappy with the follow through the day of the wedding. Firstly, he had mentioned the fact that a camera was broken as the first interaction on one of the craziest days of our lives and that felt unprofessional. His attitude toward our guests was unpleasant, we had multiple guests mention to us that they felt like he was unnecessarily blunt with the way he approached certain situations. It was brought up to us multiple times that he'd wished there was more time to take certain pictures but didn’t and we felt that was very discouraging. Both him and the assistant/intern constantly asking us what photos we wanted was not helpful as we’re not the professionals and only realized after the fact of some of the staple wedding photos we will never have.
Conversely during our engagement shoot, we felt like he had a great vision and plan for every photo that they wanted us to have. We expected that the wedding day would be the same, and it very much was not.
Frankly, we felt like the camera being broken threw off the day and put a damper on his attitude. Which as I said, in our previous conversations was very positive and accommodating.
The DJ (Nate) on the other hand was fantastic, did a wonderful job of keeping the dancefloor filled all night and was not afraid to tastefully switch music that may not have been filling the floor. Very positive person and super accommodating to all requests.
While we do appreciate the work done and love the pictures that were captured, we are at a loss with the ones we will never have. Our recommendation to other couples out there is to do their best to establish a shot list to make sure nothing gets lost forever, although we did offer that multiple times and it was declined it is one of our bigger regrets.

ncerely appreciative for the gratuity that was given to us at the wedding. We are happy to hear you enjoyed our detailed planning process, our wiliness to cater to any and all your needs, and that we were happy to accommodate your request for the multi location engagement session over in Grand Rapids. We loved how all the images turned out and are glad that you were really happy with receiving all your images within only 5 business days following your wedding day and had your album design ready, even during the busy Christmas season, in less than 30 days.
The thoughts and opinions of each of our couples is extremely important to our company as we are always striving to provide the best experience possible for everyone, so we wanted to take the time to address the concerns you mentioned.
Broken camera - When we arrived at the hotel we contacted the Bride to let her know we were there. Upon unloading the car and carrying stuff in, we were holding the door for other guests of the hotel and a camera got bumped and fell. In the midst of evaluating the condition of the camera, the Bride had texted us to see if we were having an issue finding the room because we weren't to the room yet. When we arrived in the room I was completely honest with her, as we always are with our clients, and notified her that it took us a couple extra minutes due to the camera dropping. Now as our clients are aware ahead of time, we have back up staff on call to assist with any type of emergency. I followed up with telling the bride that it was no biggie at all. We had back up cameras with us and our on call staff member was bringing us another camera which was there in a matter of 15-20 minutes. These are things, as professionals, plan for and have back ups for. It in no way effected us in any way and had no bearing on performance or demeanor from any of our staff. We were actually making light of it in the elevator, pointing out these are the situations we talk and plan for and why we have back up equipment and staff on call. As you can see in the gallery (link listed below). we didn't miss a beat or any shots from the hotel with the girls getting ready. We are not sure how any action by our staff would portray or insinuate it had a negative impact on our day and find our clients appreciate us being proactive with back up gear on site and staff on call.
Bringing up we wish we had more time and being blunt - Sharing and expressing how the day is going during the day provides our clients with the ability to make any changes needed to make sure they are accomplishing what's important. We ask for 30 minutes for families (family formals took almost 3 times that amount of time for reasons out of our control), 30 minutes for the bridal party (we got about 10 minutes but it was dark out), and 30 minutes for the bride and groom (10 minutes maybe but it was dark out). We express things to our clients when we see the timeline and day falling behind or off course and have found that a greater majority of our clients appreciate that. Sometimes being assertive or even blunt is the only way to get our urgency across but in the 20 years I personally have been in this industry and the thousand plus weddings I've been apart of, I have never been told I was unpleasant. We all love what we do, have fun doing it and enjoy everyone around us having fun as well.
I would like to go more in depth, but unfortunately there is no more character space. So in closing, we do appreciate your opinions and will take every one of them to heart in the process of continuing to learn and strive to be the best.

you before the wedding day, we had to make some changes in our office staff due to noticing some of our communication and scheduling policies were not being performed correctly and to the level of our expectations. This part of our business is very important and is why we felt it necessary to contact all our brides and grooms, be open and honest with them, and do everything we could to get on track to make sure the wedding day was taken care of in the best way. We do understand that going over details for the day and the timeline twice may have been redundant, however we just wanted to make sure we had every detail correct and felt going through everything again to assure we didn't miss anything was a good thing and the best way to make sure every detail was perfect. Some photographers can be a little awkward being that your standing in front of a complete stranger kissing your significant other for them to take a picture of, haha. We live in Colorado and got married at Houghton Lake, MI in June. We booked Limelight for our photography and DJ services based on their reasonable prices and positive reviews. Prior to the wedding day, we had never met Richard or our DJ, Nick....
That can be a little nerve wracking when you’re planning a wedding from a different state and we have ZERO regrets about it. They were absolutely incredible! It poured rain the entire day of our wedding--which was outdoors with no plan B!--and there were some really nervous moments when we thought we weren’t going to be able to use the DJ at all. Richard was clear in his communication that we were taking a risk by plugging anything in, but was willing to be patient with the weather and see if it would pass. Thankfully, it cleared up just in time and we were able to go ahead as planned.
I’ll start with Richard. Absolutely amazing. Throughout the chaos of the morning, he stayed calm, patient, and respectful of my wishes to try to wait out the storm. Even while I’m sure his mind was running trying to think about keeping his equipment protected in the rain, he took the most amazing and heartwarming pictures of me getting ready with my bridesmaids, mom, and grandma. I will cherish how he caught our relationships forever. For the ceremony and the formal pictures afterwards, mother nature was doing him no favors with the grey water and grey sky. I’m sure it was difficult to create contrast in the photographs, but you would never know it because they turned out absolutely stunning. He even texted me one of his favorite pictures the next day as he was working on editing. Which, while I’m on the subject, let’s just talk about how Limelight did 6 weddings the weekend we got married and he had all of the photos to us in 72 hours?! Magical. He truly captured the love between family, friends, and of course my husband and I. He caught the special candid moments when two people shared a loving glance and as beautiful as the formal pictures are, it’s those candids that we keep going back to and will cherish.
Next, our DJ Nick. It was SO convenient to book the photographer and caterer together. One less person to coordinate with, send deposits to, etc. Plus Limelight truly takes the time to make sure that their DJ’s are going to entertain--as it says in their company’s name. Nick stole the show. I cannot tell you how many people mentioned something in the couple of weeks following our wedding about Nick and how incredible he was. When you sit down with--or call in my case--Richard to do your agenda, just listen to him. He was able to thoroughly explain why he put things in a certain order to keep the mood of the crowd going at a certain pace (like cake cutting, bouquet and garter tosses, first dance, anniversary dance, etc. in the order that he did). Anyhow, Nick did the perfect job of setting the tone for each part of the night. His pre-ceremony music was calm but upbeat, his cocktail hour music kept people entertained, and his party music was amazing. We had EVERYONE dancing--even all the older people! He played songs that people could dance along to (like Cupid Shuffle), sing along to (like Bohemian Rhapsody), and connect to (like the few older, slower songs). Absolutely incredible job.
Overall, we are so thrilled with everything Limelight Entertainment and Photography did to make our day special. We couldn’t have done it without them!

He interviewed and communicated with several DJs prior to finding Limelight--many at different price points both higher and lower.
