The entire staff of the Lion's Gate Hotel is very friendly and inviting. They answered my littlest most annoying questions with a positive attitude. Everything went as planned the day of--it was great! They were practically hidden in the background and the catering staff was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a more intimate, romantic, and beautiful wedding-- even with a crowd of 120!
I had my wedding in the General's Garden at Lions Gate Hotel. It had the feel of a perfect backyard wedding. The flowers and yard were beautiful and clean. Michelle, the wedding coordinator, was so great to work with. She was professional and creative, yet still let you make the decisions and have the wedding YOU want.
My wedding was one of the first when Lions Gate was established. I'm sure things look much better than it did when I was there. The chapel was all dirt outside (they were in the process of amending the soil and putting in new plants and trees). I'm sure all the kinks of a new business are out. Everything went without any issues and everyone was very accomdating. The bartenders at our reception were awesome and it was so nice for our guests that the chapel and reception were only walking distance from each other. Our families enjoyed the convenience so much that my sister-in-law booked Lions Gate for her wedding a year later.
My husband and I rented a house to have our wedding and wedding night. The house was missing key items. But it was beautiful!
The garden pictures are spectacular!
We also rented the house for my husbands 50th birthday and it was fun and still did not have all of the items we would have liked. Still very nice!
We were married in the General's Garden at Lions Gate in May of 2008. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous and we got so many compliments on our location choice. Since it is outdoors in the garden area, we didn't need that many flowers, just a few urns on either side of the gazebo which transferred into the reception area after the ceremony. The staff was amazing and made sure that everyone was taken care of and I could just relax and enjoy my day! I would highly recommend this site!
I loved how it was in an intimate garden setting in the backyard of the historic generals mansion at Lions Gate Hotel. It was very nice in that the wedding was separated from other hotel guests. There was ample room for the ceremony and the reception to be held at the same place. No one had to drive anywhere. We (the wedding party) got to get ready and stay in the mansion the night before and after the wedding. I LOVED the location. The drive to get to the generals mansion was down a nice tree-lined street. The yard where the wedding was held was decorated with market lights. Everything was set up exactly to my specifications. The wait staff were great. At our head table, they brought us drinks and even offered me ice cream if I wanted it.;The only thing they didn't do was serve one of the deserts that we had brought for the reception. That annoyed me because we had hand made them. They only brought out the cake. I didn't notice because I was busy enjoying myself. Also, for the bar we had some hosted beverages and some non hosted beverages and the bar tender didn't announce what was hosted and what wasn't, so people were paying for beer when they could have been drinking what we had already paid for. That bothered me because we had to prepay for kegs and they were not even half empty at the end of the night. They should have had a menu telling guests what was hosted.
It was convenient. The ceremony and reception were at the same spot. The garden was great for kids to run around and there were plenty of TV's for the older kids who weren't really into weddings. The lights in the evening were very pretty. There is a balcony in the Generals Garden that makes for really cool photos as well. The honeymoon suit was included as well so that was really nice.
I loved the staff. They were very attentive and caring. The site is beautiful! I loved that the ceremony and reception took place in the General's Garden and we did not have to drive anywhere after the reception. I loved that the General's House was available to get ready in and included as a first night's stay. The lights in the trees provided great ambience. It was a wonderful experience!
We loved that it was still connected to the Air Force somehow which is the arm of the military service to which my husband belongs.;Make sure that all the equipments are specified and checked out before the program starts.
We had the ceremony in the chapel that was very close to the hall which was wonderful. No one had to drive anywhere! Plus, so many people were staying right there in the hotel they offered to come drive people back to their rooms after a night of partying.;There was some issues the morning of trying to get in to decorate and things not being done as specified. The site was great, but would be very careful to be VERY specific with wants and needs and to follow up on those often.
