I’ve visited Litchfield many times and it never disappoints! The staff which includes the front desk,housekeeping and the Coastal Dish employees are amazing…the breakfast is wonderful!
But I had reservations a few weeks ago at the Summerhouse ...
which I do love and I asked for a unit that I had stayed in before…Unit 402. No problems with the Unit but I received several calls regarding wanting to show it…at first I thought it was a scam but apparently the unit is for sale..,,So I finally agreed…it was supposed to be shown on a Friday between 3-4.. put everything away to make it presentable and we left.
When I returned I couldn’t tell if the owner or the realtor had been there…I thought there would have been a thank you note for the inconvenience
So I went to the front desk and they were very nice and when I inquired on the owners or realtors visit they looked on the computer and it showed that they had cancelled!
So My Complaint is with the Owner and Realtor that they didn’t let me know it was cancelled! The whole thing was very rude to ask to show it on my vacation and then even more rude not to show up after I agreed!
So needless to say I won’t be renting that unit again! Since there are more units for sale at the Summerhouse this would be my last choice!!
But I will be returning to Litchfield’

Great experience at Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort. Rooms were a little dated (furnishings and TV's need to be updated). The view is great. Would prefer the resort to be smoke free. We were not able to enjoy much time on the balcony due to ...
frequent smokers in surrounding units. We would stay here again but request a different area on property.

Would not advise going here for anything other than golf - bizarre room layout with 4(!) random chairs consisting of 2 barstools and 2 folding chairs with no table, exorbitant cleaning fee despite never getting any towels refreshed, bed made, e...
tc. No ice machine. "Seaside" Resort a fair bit a way from the ocean, more of a "Retention Pond Resort" & the "view" option yields a "view" of the parking lot.
Edit: Had an almost immediate response from the Litchfield Manager and he was incredibly positive and helped to clear up some of the misconception. 304a just brought a fairly weird vibe to the stay, could do for a bit of an update & chair reduction (unless that's your thing then this one is on point). So, service wise, bumping that score way up and feel reflection on unit updates/cleaning fees could do for a bit of update.
Double edit: Not normally an electric car guy, but rental company gave me a full EV & the charging station was broken during the stay.

We have been coming to Litchfield beach and gold resort for 15 plus years. The last two visits they messed up our reservations and basically was told sorry about your luck. It has been a few years since we came back and decided to give them one...
more try. Our son had wonderful memories of coming here and wanted to share them with his sons. I made the reservations the end of Dec 2023 on line. I called after the first of Jan to make sure they understood our needs. I was told it was documented. I also called 2 days before we arrived and was assured we would have what we had requested. We check in and it was not the room that met our needs. I called the front desk and all they could help us with was to move lake side and we requested ocean front. Basically they said again sorry nothing we can do. Very disappointed and afraid this may be our last visit here. We love the beach but if management doesn’t care it affects everything about visiting. Also the rooms floors were so dirty that we would wear our shoes in order to keep our feet clean. The room needed a through cleaning and updates. Remotes didn’t work, lamps needed bulbs.

My smoke alarm was faulty at 8:00 am. I called the front desk and they would send maintenance over soon. No action for 90 minutes. I needed to get ready for a wedding I was attending (reception at Pawleys Plantation ). As I was exiting the...
shower i heard, “maintenance “ twice. I asked maintenance to give me 5 minutes because I was in the bathroom. The maintenance person said it would only take a couple of minutes to switch out the alarm. I said ok but the instincts kicked in and I asked him to leave. He wanted more time and I became concerned and repeated my request and then yelling at him to leave. Finally he left. I no longer felt safe. I felt violated.
After communicating with the front desk and the general manager my concerns have not been resolved.
I did not stay at your facility Saturday night because I felt unsafe as now the maintenance personnel knew I was alone in my room.
The general manager offered to reimburse me one night stay, including taxes and fees. Three days later a refund hasn’t been made.
I felt I have been patient in trying resolve this matter.
