Mia and her team are truly the best in the business. When looking for a wedding planner we decided on Little Acorn Events because they have done a lot of weddings at our venue in the past, and we couldn't have been more pleased with our choice! Mia uses a dedicated planning website to help keep you and herself organized during the many months that you work together, and as you get closer to your date she puts together a very thorough timeline of events for the day. Before hiring Little Acorn I was stressed about having to micro-manage vendors on my wedding day, but when the time came, their team handled everything from set-up to take-down and there wasn't a moment where I wasn't enjoying myself. It truly was the wedding of my dreams! In a way I am sad that wedding season is over for us because Mia and her team truly became friends of mine, but I can't wait to see what other brides' visions they can make a reality.
From our first conversation with Mia, we knew she was the wedding planner for us! Not only is Mia a wonderful person, but she is an exceptional wedding planner. As new Charlottesville residents, she guided us through the wedding planning process, and recommended a fantastic team of vendors. Mia was a joy to work with! Incredibly organized, detail oriented, and at the same time calm and easy going. Mia ensured that everything worked toward the vision my daughter and her (now) husband had for their special day. And when that day came, it was perfect. Her team were polished and professional and even came up with a plan to execute something we thought wouldn’t work at the last minute. They handled everything calmly ( even the bee that got caught in the lining of an attendant’s dress!). I honestly believe that hiring Mia and Little Acorn Events was the best investment we made for this wedding. We were all able to have the most magical, stress free day because Mia and her team were handling every detail. Five stars doesn’t even cover it-I would give Little Acorn Events a 10 out of 10!
Hiring Mia and the Little Acorn Events Co (LAE) team was the best decision we made during wedding planning! We knew from the beginning that we wanted to hire a wedding planner and we could not have been more lucky when we came across LAE. Mia was with us from the beginning, listening to our vision and helping us find vendors who would perfectly execute our dream wedding. She answered any questions that we had throughout the process with grace and kindness and kept us focused on the tasks at hand with her extensive wedding checklist and monthly check-ins. When it came to the wedding day, she truly had everything under control so that we, as well as our family and friends, could focus on each other and the day. We even had guests coming up to us after the wedding asking how they could hire Mia and her team for their wedding planning needs. We had the absolutely most perfect wedding day and attribute that all to Mia and her hard working team! We 100% recommend LAE and could not be more grateful for Mia!
Mia and her team were incredible for our wedding! Leading up to the wedding, Mia helped calm any nerves my husband and I had about how the day would be executed. She is incredibly knowledgeable and carries herself with confidence; from our first conversation, I knew we'd be in good hands with her on our side! On the wedding day, she had an incredible team that was truly on top of everything (and even ready with replacement rings when the best man thought he had lost the real rings!) and I can only imagine all the work they did behind the scenes that we didn't see. Mia truly cares so deeply for her clients and it shows!
We chose the partial planning package with the power planning session add on. My husband and I we wanted to do a lot of the planning and decision making ourselves, but the power planning session with Mia helped us tremendously in terms of where to start and making sure we were well equipped to do so. The LAE team was always an email away if we had questions about a contract or wanted design advice, etc. so while we did a lot ourselves, they were always there for us to turn to. We aren't from the Charlottesville area so they were a huge resource for us. As we moved closer to our day we began to work with our month-of-coordinator, Lydia, who is absolutely amazing. Lydia stepped in and took so much off of our plate in the last month from coordination with vendors, offering advice on anything and everything, and answering my probably excessive amount of emails. Lydia brought a much-needed calm demeanor to what can be a very chaotic and stressful time. The last few weeks leading up to and our wedding day went so smoothly thanks the Lydia and Macie. We were able to soak up every second of the day because they handled anything and everything. She was ready to tackle anything we needed help with, we felt so lucky to be paired with her and would choose LAE again and again! Highly recommend!
In short, she wasn’t attentive to detail to the point that we were worried we wouldn’t be legally married the day of our wedding, she sprung last-minute charges on us right before our wedding and she made the whole wedding planning process even more stressful than if we had just done it ourselves.
Mia told us that our venue was in the wrong county, so we realized during our wedding rehearsal that we had gotten our pastor certified in a different county and we weren’t sure if we would be legally married the next day. That was the most stressed out I have been in my entire life.
When we interviewed her, we explicitly asked if there were any additional fees in addition to her planning fee. She told us no, the only additional charge would be the cost of stamps if she mailed our invitations. After deciding to get loose baby’s breath and eucalyptus blooms by the box, she said it would be no problem for her team to take care of putting the stems into bud vases during normal set up time. However, less than three weeks before our wedding, she sent us an invoice for $350 to “process, arrange, and store flowers”. She claimed that this was "outside the services of wedding planning” despite absolutely no mention that there would be an additional charge when she agreed to do this or during the several months we had been talking about these flowers.
For being a supposedly detail-oriented wedding planner, her inattentiveness to detail was astounding. Nearly every paper product that should have been sent to our guests was misspelled (the month of August was misspelled on our invitations, itineraries that we were supposed to send out to guest and our wedding party were misspelled, etc.). This led to such a delay mailing out our invitations that some guests received them after the RSVP date had already passed. There was a substantial delay sending out save-the-dates because she sent our guest names and address spreadsheet to The Knot’s spam email despite claiming that she'd done this process hundreds of times.
There were multiple instances where she said that she would do something and then just didn't (for example, she offered to create our escort cards but then a month later asked me what I was doing for them). She did have useful recommendations for our DJ, catering, and photographer, but we also went way over budget, which we said was one of our priorities. She sent us to multiple venues that were outside our budget until we found one on our own that was within budget. Her recommendations for transportation would have carried fewer people for more money than the option we ended up finding on our own. We acknowledge that her team was helpful planning a day-after brewery bus tour, which we are grateful for.
The day of the wedding things went well to my knowledge so perhaps she would be a fine day-of coordinator. However, during the planning process Mia caused a lot of unnecessary stress and worry because I felt like I was just constantly cleaning up her messes or tying up her loose ends. For these reasons, we can’t recommend her as a full service wedding planner.
Mia was very helpful through the whole planning process. She was quick to respond and gave her honest opinions and thoughts throughout the planning process. The day of our wedding, Mia and her team were on top of everything whether I needed a sip of water ASAP or I told them about a last minute change. They always had to together.
Mia and her team were the absolute best. We cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible service that was provided. Every detail was executed flawlessly, making our special day unforgettable. Mia demonstrated a level of professionalism and expertise that exceeded our expectations, and her ability to manage all aspects of the wedding process, from minor details to unexpected hiccups, was outstanding. We never had any issue with communication throughout the entire process and Mia was always available to answer questions or offer guidance when it was needed. She was very easy to work with. Mia prides herself in curating weddings in which her couples feel like “guests''. Because of this mentality, we didn’t have a single stressor on our wedding day and got to enjoy the day surrounded by our loved ones. Hiring Mia was the best decision we made when planning our wedding. We would highly recommend the LAE team; without them, our day wouldn’t have been nearly as perfect.

Additionally, she truly listens and does not forget your vision. Even though she has many clients, she has a way of making you feel like you are her one and only priority. Little Acorn Events provides different services and packages ranging from day of coordination to full wedding service planning for your special day. We worked primarily with Mary Green as our day of coordinator, she was phenomenal. I personally choose to book my vendors and create a vision of what I wanted our wedding day to look like. Mary entered the picture a few months prior to ensure I was on track with wedding planning/answered all my questions. During our walkthrough, she highlighted key moments and helped plan a lovely reception. On the day of our wedding, I was able to enjoy myself, stress free! She is so organized, professional and kind. My vision on the venue was better than I could have ever dreamed and I am forever grateful for Mary. I had the best day with my family and friends.
Would absolutely recommend Mia and her team. They made our day absolutely perfect and checked in with us every step of the way to help guide us to having our dream wedding. Everything was so detailed and they took care of us on the day to make sure we had no stress. Love this team!!
I cannot stress enough how much my husband (yay!) and I enjoyed working with Mia during the more than year long process of planning our wedding. We obviously had no idea where to begin, but Mia was there every step of the way to keep us on track with helpful to do lists and monthly meetings. On the day of our wedding, we were projected to have some significant storms and Mia was constantly in touch about our back up plan, and the back up plan for the back up, Our bridal party and guests commented frequently throughout the night on how impressed they were with her professionalism and attention to detail. I can truly say that our wedding would not have been nearly as beautiful and special as it was without Mia. We can't thank you enough!
If you just got engaged, stop what you’re doing and book Mia (and the Little Acorn team)! Hands down, the best asset/captain/guiding light when it comes to planning our wedding day. I never grew up dreaming of what my wedding would look like, and so at the start of wedding planning, we were lost. Mia took the time to help us to envision what the perfect wedding would look like to us as a couple, and then completely brought it to life! From big picture down to the minutia, Mia had it under control and kept it fun for us rather than it feeling like a chore. She recommended wonderful vendors that felt truly catered to our particular style and vision. And for the things that you as a couple value, she will fight for that to become a reality (i.e. hydrangeas in the Fall or a dream wedding band that > 300 mi out of town…). We absolutely cannot recommend Mia enough - her only flaw is there is only one of her!
Mia is absolutely amazing!!! We could not be more thankful that we found her to be our wedding planner. By the end she was not only our wedding designer/planner but a wonderful friend and we truly miss our planning meetings with her. She is so kind, caring, and genuine and that shines through in all of her work. She made planning an out of town wedding in a very popular area so incredibly easy. She was responsive to all of my questions and understood our vision perfectly. Her attention to detail and organization is unmatched - I truly don't think we would've gotten anything planned without her. She has so many connections with talented vendors in the area and suggested those that fit our personalities and vision. Despite the tropical storm that hit the area on our wedding day, the day went so smoothly. Mia and her team pivoted quickly to back up plans and worked so hard to make everything perfect despite the downpour - you truly would've never known that some things had changed last minute. Our family and friends were so impressed with her and her team. It was the absolute perfect day! We would highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend Mia and Little Acorn Events.

Mia was there every step of the way in the planning process to make sure we were comfortable and stress free. On the wedding day, Mia and her team worked quickly, efficiently and professionally. LAE was the best thing to happen to me during planning season. After our first meeting my husband and I felt relaxed, happy, and taken care of. I truly let it all go come wedding day because I knew Mia and her team had it under control. She understood my vision and knew what was important to us. Lydia, along with Ashlyn, from the Little Acorn Events team were wonderful day-of coordinators. Everything went off without a hitch thanks to them - even with the potential of rain during our ceremony. They were helpful to me, my husband, and our bridal party throughout the evening and they kept things on schedule. Leading up to the wedding Lydia was also always available if I had any questions and she communicated well with our vendors. I am incredibly thankful for the Little Acorn team and all they did to make our wedding day so perfect!
Mia & her team were key & essential to our wedding day - but most importantly, in the year leading up to it. We booked a partial planning package with LAE and Mia was amazing at delegating fun tasks to us while taking care of business that was challenging for us from abroad. We had a small 40 person wedding on a lake in Virginia (not an easy location to get vendors to agree to do!) and she curated such an amazing vision that totally aligned with our vision. LAE used awesome digital platforms like aisle planner and honeybook that helped us and our families track everything going on. She was able to suggest ideas and vendors that totally made us realize she "gets" us as a couple. Personality wise, Mia felt like a best friend we were planning our wedding alongside; however, professionally her knowledge of the industry and authority with decision making and keeping things on track was a huge comfort to us. We were both in two different locations and never close to our wedding location, often making phone calls to Mia from across the globe and needing to coordinate time zones. I am still amazed at how perfect everything turned out. This was the absolute best thing we spent budget on for our wedding because it allowed us to relax and enjoy the process rather than thinking of our wedding like a constant "to-do-list". Mia was a great listener, balanced our different opinions, helped sort through tension with vendors, guests, weather, and other situations flawlessly. Most importantly, she was a great communicator and incredibly responsive within a reasonable timeframe. Even though LAE is an incredibly successful business, we felt like we were their most important clients at all times! We are forever grateful for Mia and LAE's work, kindness, patience, and care.
We hired Mia ( Little Acorn Events )to help with our son's destination wedding in Charlottesville. Being wedding photographers ourselves, we work with event planners almost weekly. Not only are we highly aware of just how beneficial a planner is, but also what makes a great planner!
Little Acorn Events was absolutely amazing! Mia was what made the wedding everything our we all had envisioned. From finding the perfect vendors that would work with our unique location, recommending and sourcing the beautiful décor to then organizing it all on the wedding day....we can't even begin to imagine how things would have turned out if it wasn't for her and her staff!! Planning a wedding from out of state is difficult enough, but then coordinating it in a somewhat remote location has even more challenges. Thank you to Mia and Little Acorn Events for pulling off this beautiful wedding, for the expert communication with the bride and groom and for taking so much stress off of all us! Our wedding day was so stress free and wonderful thanks to the help of Sarah & Mary from Little Acorn Events. Sarah was so detail-oriented from creating a minute-by-minute wedding day schedule (that we always seemed to be ahead of) to making our reception decor vision come to fruition. Mary was such a calming presence right before the ceremony, helping me get out a small stain on my dress (that I hadn't even noticed) with their day-of-rescue kit (with literally anything you could possibly need). Absolutely recommend.
If you are looking for a wedding planner STOP right here because Little Acorn Events is it! Working with Mia honestly felt like working with a best friend! My groom and I were planning our wedding from overseas and throughout the planning, people constantly commented on how difficult this must be, but this could not be further from the truth thanks to Mia and her team! She was so easy to talk to and made you feel at ease from the start. She has the tools and connections to help plan the smallest of details, but also allows you to visualize what your day will look like and knows just the person for even the most unique requests – she helped us locate a Gelateria for a gelato cart! She also doesn't shoot down ideas that seem crazy and helps you figure out a way to get there even if the first option is outside the budget.
While Mia and her team were amazing leading up to the wedding, they really blew us away on the big day! Throughout the process Mia’s calm and confident demeanor was reassuring, but every Bride is still going to worry that the day isn't going to be exactly how they visualized. Well fear not because Mia and her team - they got you! My biggest stressor was decor (tables, dance floor, florals, etc.), but Mia meticulously listened to every detail I wanted and created a space that was better than I could have ever dreamt. Additionally, from the start of the wedding weekend, she took control and she addressed every concern or hiccup flawlessly; I am truly envious of her ability to remain calm under pressure!
She also provides her brides with an emergency kit that is all-inclusive for anything that could possibly go wrong – my bridesmaids and I loved this! My new groom and I will miss our monthly meetings with Mia, but we are so excited to see what’s next for Little Acorn Events and their couples!
Mia is the most incredible human. From the moment we met I had zero doubts that she would make our special day perfect and sure enough, she did not miss a beat. I couldn’t be more thankful for Mia’s support leading up to our wedding day and then her and Sarah’s execution day-of. We received month-of services from Mia and we are so happy we did. To say I was overwhelmed when I started planning a wedding was an understatement! As soon as I talked to Mia on our first call I felt so much better and knew she was the one we wanted to work with. She always answered my (tons!) of questions I emailed her leading up to the wedding, even when she was on maternity leave which was completely unexpected. The day of the wedding we felt so relaxed knowing Mia was running the show and knew she would take care of every detail. We had the absolute perfect day (seriously everything went smoothly) and it’s because Mia had a handle on everything. She also thought of every detail I hadn’t! I would love to get married again if it meant I could work with LAE and her dream team again ❤️
There are no words to express how grateful we are for Mia & Little Acorn Events. From the very beginning stages of planning to the very end, Mia was so thorough, responsive, and detail-oriented. She is excellent at making her clients feel calm and supported. I barely had to do anything throughout the whole process -- she really did carry our team. On the day of the wedding, I didn't lift a finger. She made sure everything ran smoothly and according to our vision. Even when there were inevitably a few hiccups (such as being unable to locate our grand exit sparklers), Mia sprung into action with quick thinking and resourcefulness, setting everything back on track. We were left absolutely speechless by her care and attention. Her passion is evident in everything that she touches.

Little acorn events was amazing and made our celebration so smooth and enjoyable. 11/10 honestly. The owner Mia is great to work with , and our day of coordinator , Mary , was Phenomenal. She listened to every single one of our asks for the day, and delivered. She was nothing but kind and excited the entire process, and was organized and very helpful.
Mia was an absolutely gem to work with through my daughters wedding planning and when their special day was here. Her attention to detail, follow up with vendors, especially as the event was getting closer, she took our anxiety from a 10 to a 0 because we knew she had it handled. The wedding day, she had a precise timeline for the wedding party pics, arrival of guests, cocktail hour and even down to the exact time of the sunset for the bride and groom to to catch those perfect sunset pictures. My husband and I appreciated all she did and the wedding was a 10+ with the support of Mia. I too just loved her wedding apron that she wore with all her little tools and miscellaneous needs for those last minute things you may need, have forgotten (and we did)... she was EXCEPTIONAL!.
I originally chose Little Acorn after a conversation with Mia. It really felt like catching up with an old friend. Over the months that followed, Mia was able to provide me with so much advice and was able to gut check vendors (even though I only hired her for the day of coordination). This just goes to show how kind and helpful she was! Sarah (who works on Mia’s team) ended up being our actual Day of Coordinator, which originally caused me anxiety (I was a bride-to-be, what can I say), but Sarah absolutely rocked the day! She floated around in the background putting out all sorts of fires and kept checking up with my husband and me to make sure we were fed and had something to drink. I know this is earlier in Sarah’s career at Little Acorn, but we were truly impressed with how she handled all of the shifts in the schedule and chaos that a wedding can bring.
We cannot thank Sarah enough for helping with all of the details on our wedding day! She was so helpful in the months leading up to the day and did an absolute perfect job setting up all the details. She eliminated any stress knowing that she understood our vision and would take care of the set up. She kept the day on schedule and made it so we could enjoy every moment of the day.
Arushi coordinated my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding and I was so impressed with her professionalism and energy! Great communication with us as well as our vendors Arushi was detail oriented and on top of everything. For the big day, we did not have a moment to worry or stress about the particulars. From start to finish, Arushi had it all covered so we could relax and be in the moment on that most special day. Highly recommended!!
I cannot say enough positive things about Mia. She has a way of calming you down and making everything seem like it’s going to work out perfectly. I hired her as a “day of” coordinator and she was such a huge help in the final sprint to our wedding. She put together a flawless timeline and helped make many of my dreams a reality. She helped us execute our ceremony rehearsal to make our ceremony go flawlessly. She transformed our venue into the space of my dreams the day of our wedding. And, as rain decided to descend on our entirely outdoor wedding, she helped to orchestrate a move under the tent that left us with just as beautiful of a day as I could have ever hoped for. My parents and wedding party could not stop raving about how wonderful and helpful she was the day of the wedding. I hope that our paths cross again because she truly is an amazing person.

Mia and her team at Little Acorn Events are the absolute best. You need Mia and her team for your wedding! My only regret is not finding her sooner.
I started working with Mia less than 6 months before my wedding date because I stupidly thought I could handle all of the planning and coordination through family friends while being located in Canada. I am so grateful I found her! Mia handled the planning for my reception and the day of coordination — she worked relentlessly to get the layout of the reception right (handling multiple last minute changes due to guests getting covid or extreme heat, etc.) and the most detailed minute by minute day of plan I’ve ever seen.
She also turned into what I’ve been calling my Secret Service on the day of. The venue created a bit of drama and stress for my guests that were planning to stay the night there and Mia took care of all of it. I mean literally any and everything that could’ve caused me stress — Mia got rid of it. She also did some really thoughtful things like having a plate of apps and glass of wine for us waiting in our cottage right after the ceremony. This was so special for us as we got to have some time to ourselves before photos and joining our guests for the reception dinner.

The whole team at Little Acorn Events is great! We worked with Mia in the lead up to our wedding, and then Sarah and Mary were on site the day of. Mia was helpful, friendly, and competent in the planning stages and asked questions that we hadn't even thought about which was a big help. I was nervous not having our "main" coordinator be with us on the day of, but I had nothing to worry about! Sarah and Mary were SO nice, and moved the day along so well and on schedule. I felt like every time I looked around for one of them, they were immediately there to help, from bringing us food to setting up and breaking down the reception, they handled it all! It was so nice not to have to worry about those things as the bride and know they would get taken care of. Would recommend!

I wasn't going to hire a coordinator, I'm so happy 3 weeks before my wedding I figured out that was a bad Idea. I spent hours speaking with her over zoom about every little detail. Mia was an amazing person to have at our wedding. She was our point person for the day of and made sure that EVERYTHING went smoothly. She made our wedding day timeline and helped with contacting all of our vendors weeks prior to the wedding to make sure everything was perfect for the day of. She was at the rehearsal and made sure everyone was properly prepared for the big day, and made sure all of our wishes were followed. I highly recommend her coordination expertise for any wedding.

Mia is THE SWEETEST! And she is a very talented wedding coordinator. I hired Mia as my day-of coordinator for our welcome dinner and wedding day. As a very Type A person myself, I was a bit nervous to hand over the reins to my day, especially since I was planning from a distance and our wedding was very DIY in nature. In the weeks/days leading up to the wedding weekend, Mia made me feel confident that everything would work out and made me feel okay about all the little details that needed to be focused on or still needed working out once we got to the wedding location. During the wedding weekend, she worked very well with my caterer to make sure my vision was executed and she did an especially great job setting up our welcome table and moving our floral decorations from one location to another. There were times where I wished she had handled issues on her own or asked others for help rather than come to me during the day, so I could remain focused on my guests. But, considering the very DIY nature of our wedding and, with that, the fact that SO many different friends & family members handled various aspects – it might have been hard to find a point person besides me when things came up. When I think back on our wedding day, there is nothing that I wished worked out better – everything went beautifully and our vision for a rustic, warm, love-filled, family & friend-focused weekend was accomplished, due in large part to Mia. Also, the fact that she took time away from her family and new baby made me feel very special and shows how dedicated she is to her job.

I hired Mia as my Day-of-Coordinator for our October wedding and it was the best decision I made. It was a last minute decision, and despite that she worked hard to make sure she was in contact with my other vendors, to clean up and finalize my day of schedule, and then to make sure everything went off without a hitch on the big day. She went to the ends of the earth to make sure that decisions were made based on how my husband and I wanted it to be, not how other people thought it should be. I have zero regrets about hiring her, and I would give her the highest of recommendations to anyone who is considering hiring a wedding planner!
Working with Little Acorn Events was one of the best decisions we could have made. I really cannot imagine what our wedding would have been like without Mia's help as our Day-of Coordinator. We did a lot of the initial legwork on our wedding, finding and signing with vendors, planning our decor. However, as we got closer to a month or two out from our wedding, we realized that we needed someone to help us connect the dots, tie up loose ends, keep track of all the little details, and figure out some logistics for which we had no idea.
Before we signed on with Mia, and were considering a DOC, I thought I'd be calling the DOC in a panic every few days. Once we actually sat down and started talking with her, I realized this was going to be easy.
Mia is organized, smooth, attentive to details, and has a deep behind-the-scenes understanding of how to structure weddings. She reminded us about things we had not even considered. Where we were stressed and uncertain (especially about figuring out the timeline), she had great suggestions for us to consider. When unexpected things happened (like my husband and I running off with several guests to a nearby field to watch an International Space Station flyover), she rolled with it and helped keep things on track. When problems came up (for example, we thought our guest transportation wasn't showing up), she was already three steps ahead of us in handling it.
I regret that we didn't find out about her sooner, because we probably would have done partial wedding planning with her too. I would 1000% recommend her for your wedding.
My wife and I were originally planning on not hiring a wedding planner but I am SO glad we changed our minds. Mia was the driving force in making our wedding run smoothly and ensuring that it was an event we would cherish for the rest of our lives. When we got engaged we knew we wanted to be married as soon as possible and our wedding would end up with 200+ guests between our 2 large families. We knew we’d need help pulling it off in 5 months! That’s where Little Acorn Events came in. Mia was the first planner we connected with who was really warmly interested in us as a couple and seemed to intuitively grasp our vision for the wedding. She was also very respectful of our budget, which was so important to us, helping us figure out what to pay for and ways to DIY. When I would feel stressed she was just a phone call or text away — many of which read, “Don’t worry. It’s handled.” And she really meant it—she always came through with solutions and solid execution. Super organized! Our wedding was beautiful and we were able to focus on what really mattered while LAE handled logistics for us. Sidenote: Mia is also an extremely accomplished baker. At one of our planning meetings she baked us a treat and it was so amazing we asked her if she would cater all our desserts. A month later guests are still raving about her dessert bar.
