Hiring Liz from Liven It Up Events was, without a doubt, the single best decision we made throughout our entire wedding planning process. From our very first conversation, we knew Liz was the perfect fit for us. She took the time to truly understand who we are, which built an immediate sense of trust and comfort. Liz was organized, communicative, detail-oriented and is an absolute expert in this field. Liz’s planning timeline allowed us to get everything done without feeling overwhelmed or feel decision fatigue. She didn’t just understand our vision; she elevated it beyond what we could have ever imagined.
We were really intentional with wanting to hire vendors who were not only incredible at what they do, but add joy to our wedding day - just like Liz herself! Her recommendations helped us build a true dream team of vendors. With Liz, every detail was thought of and every minute was planned. Thanks to her, wedding planning felt fun and every single moment was exciting.
When it came to the actual day, Liz's preparation made all the difference. We were able to soak up every second of our wedding without a single worry, knowing that she had everything under control. The day flowed seamlessly, and from our perspective, it was perfect. Our guests echoed our sentiments about how smoothly everything ran.
If we could offer one piece of advice to anyone planning a wedding, it would be this: hire Liz. We already miss working with her and wish we could relive the entire process. Liz turned our dream wedding into a reality, and for that, we’ll be forever grateful.
I think it’s safe to say that our wedding would not have been as magical if we had not had all of the support from Tiffany Wilson at Liven It Up. We interviewed several different planners and ended up choosing to work with Tiffany because she had the energy & excitement that matched our own AND she came off very professional and prepared.
We worked together for about 20 months ahead of our wedding. She created a comprehensive planning document for us to follow that we reviewed together over a year before our date when we initially outlined our budget. It always felt like Tiffany understood what we were trying to go for (in terms of style, cost, etc.) and she offered a bunch of vendor recommendations. We had regular calls to discuss the next focus areas we needed to tackle which made the whole planning process feel very smooth. We did not feel the last minute ‘crunch’ to get everything done because Tiffany helped us map out the gradual path to our big day.
On the actual wedding date, it could not have gone any smoother. Tiffany took care of building out and sharing the timeline to the vendors. She worked directly with the venue and vendors to coordinate all of the arrival and staging logistics. She even helped the groom execute a surprise treat for the bride at the reception. At the end of the event, Tiffany made sure all of the tip envelopes were distributed and even brought up the groom’s tuxedo jacket & other misc. keepsakes up to their bridal suite.
We cannot recommend working with Tiffany enough. She was a great planning partner, resource, and coordinator. Our wedding was literally perfect, all thanks to the work Tiffany put in! (She worked well with our parents as well)
My daughter lives in NYC and was getting married in
Chicago and I live in Chicago. When she asked me what I thought about hiring a wedding planner I said that's a YES. We interviewed a couple and both agreed Liz was our person. Words cannot explain how impeccable she was at helping us plan the perfect wedding for my daughter and her husband! In order to adequately share the amazing experience we had working with Liz at Liven It Up events, I would need three days worth of pages. My husband and I were living in New York but getting married in Chicago. That being said, we needed someone we could trust to help us plan our wedding in Chicago. Upon our first conversation with Liz, we knew that she was the perfect fit. She is extremely organized, respectful, easy to work with and talented. Every single detail at our wedding was thought out and executed perfectly. She recommended AMAZING vendors and listened to my vision. She attended all of the vendor visits with us which was super helpful. Because of Liz, I was ACTUALLY able to enjoy my wedding day...I wasn't one ounce stressed, nervous or scared because I knew Liz had everything under control. Liz Kriegshaber was nothing short of amazing! From the very first time we met her, we knew we were in good hands. From start to finish she exceeded every expectation and helped make my daughter’s wedding day both manageable and unforgettable.
Liz took the time to understand our vision and offered invaluable insights and suggestions. She helped us refine our ideas and then helped to turn them into a beautiful reality. Throughout the planning process, she was always available to answer our questions, do some hand holding and solve any issues that arose. She attended all meetings with vendors, offered excellent suggestions and made sure that we got the most value for our money. She advocated for us every step of the way. Anytime we had a question, she contacted the vendor for us and promptly came back with an answer. She made sure that everyone was on the same page, reviewed every contract and got vendors to throw in extras that we would never thought of. She helped us with every possible wedding detail, from helping us to design a magnificent wedding invitation, to singlehandedly designing personalized kippahs, monogram cocktail napkins, the dinner menu card and a welcome letter for our guests. There was no detail left unturned.
On the day of the wedding, Liz also went above and beyond. She made sure that everything ran like clockwork and managed every detail seamlessly. She helped my daughter deal with wardrobe malfunctions and did so calmly and patiently. Our guests were so impressed with both the seamless flow of events and the beautiful ambiance she helped us create.

We chose to work with LivenItUp team because they seemed like a team that was open to doing more than just a basic wedding and was open to incorporating different ideas for an event.
We met Lindsay and knew immediately that it was a perfect fit! Lindsay is efficient, organized, timely, and beyond professional. She was flexible to work with and made the process FUN
Everyone kept asking if I was stressed as a bride and I got to say no every time and a lot of that has to do with the fact that we had Lindsay on our side. She worked with myself, my now husband (!), and both of my parents as a group and individually to help make the planning process easy for our schedules.
She had fun ideas, great connections, and listened to us as a couple and a family for how we wanted our day to play out. She was there for the ENTIRE day with us. She was my biggest advocate on the day. If there were any hiccups on the day, I still don’t know what they may have been because she took care of it! She made me as a bride feel calm and well cared for. She also made sure my groom was taken care of too!
Now that our day is over, we genuinely miss our time spent with Lindsay! I cannot recommend having her on your team more. Words do not do enough justice for how wonderful she was and the whole experience was for us!
My husband and I got engaged April 2022 and married in August 2023 in Chicago. We did a decent amount of the initial wedding planning ourselves, so we didn't need a full-on wedding planner, but knew we wanted some sort of help from an expert to coordinate the crazy wedding day! Lindsay Gaeta was by far, the best person in the world for the job.
We started working with Lindsay about 7ish months before the big day. Even with most of our vendors already being picked by that point, Lindsay was SUCH a huge help for things we wouldn't have even known to look out for - like I said, she's the expert! Sure, I could have done it myself, but it was WELL worth the money to "pass the baton" onto someone else who we trusted and someone who took the time to understand our vision. Lindsay took the time to understand what's most important to us on our wedding day, and even helped us with tricky family situations. I would describe Lindasy as direct, extremely knowledgeable, open-minded, classy and fun! My husband and I always tell people that Lindsay was the #1 wedding vendor that we used that was beyond worth the cost. You're already paying a ton to have a wedding, you might as well pay someone to make sure it all goes perfect so you can enjoy the day/night! Thank you again, Linsday and Liven It Up Events!

How can we sum up our experience with Liz? There's honestly too many good things to list them all. Both my husband and I have somewhat avoidant personalities. When things get tough we have a tendency to bury our heads. I can't explain how safe we felt putting our wedding into Liz's hands. In the areas we felt hands-on, Liz was there to support; in times when we felt overwhelmed Liz picked up all the slack. She is creative, hardworking, enthusiastic, patient, and so so funny. We were endlessly impressed by her expertise, organization and professionalism. 10/10, could not have done it without her. A true Wedding Wonder Woman!!
I have planned so many trips, events, etc., but have never before hired a planner. For my daughter's wedding, however, I decided to hire a wedding planner, Liz, from Liven It Up Events in Chicago. I am somewhat of a detail oriented control freak, but I have to say, working with Liz was way beyond what I ever contemplated. She was exceptional with the details, organization, ideas, and follow up, that I honestly could not imagine doing this on my own or with anyone else for that matter. Additionally, she was such a pleasure to work with, that I will honestly miss her now that it is over. I actually will have to come up with another party idea so that we can get the team back and work together.

It's hard to put into words how amazing Liz is as a wedding planner and human. After seeing the incredible job she did on my brother's wedding, we asked her to take over for our destination wedding in Sonoma, California. With mere weeks of lead up time, Liz jumped in with support, suggestions and solutions, handling all communication and outstanding to-dos and taking A TON of pressure off of me. On the ground throughout the wedding weekend, Liz was prepared and organized, acting as our advocate, remaining calm AND keeping us calm as it rained all day :) Hiring Liz was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. 100/10!!
Where even to begin? Tiffany at Liven It Up Events was so wonderful at every step of the wedding process. We would highly recommend her to anyone who asks. From the initial planning meeting, she was kind, thoughtful, responsive, and resourceful. She is well-connected within the industry and knew the ins and outs of how to throw a wedding in Chicago. And as a gay couple from different cultural backgrounds, she was inclusive and celebratory of the different ways our heritage was incorporated into our special day. Her day-of coordination was impeccable and made our wedding go off without a hitch. We couldn’t have had the wedding that we did without her.
Kim very quickly understood what we wanted for our wedding and was able to get us there with minimal stress throughout the entire process. She introduced us to the best venues and third party vendors and limited the amount of time we had to spend working on any of the details, big or small. Through years of experience, she was able to differentiate between what was actually important and what wouldn’t ever matter when the wedding weekend came. That was all during the planning stages, but she was at her best during the wedding festivities. As we were surrounded by our favorite people in the world, we knew we didn’t have to worry about anything as she had everything under control. She tried to make herself invisible to not take away from any special moments, but we knew she was there taking care of everything all weekend long! Thanks so much to Kim and Liven It Up Events, you helped make our wedding weekend incredible and as stress-free as possible! Lindsay was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was on top of every single detail and made sure everything flowed smoothly, which made my job as the DJ so much less stressful. Can't wait to work with her again and I highly recommend her to all my clients!
Kim was phenomenal as our planner and day of coordinator. We truly could not have done it without her. Her expertise and knowledge was unparalleled, not only of the venue, vendors, and wedding day timeline, but also her attention to details about us specifically and ensuring these were captured in our wedding vision. She handled so much of the coordinating and logistics behind the scenes and I never felt like I had to worry about whether things were going to get done. From our initial phone call through to the final timeline meeting before the big day, Kim was on top of everything. On top of handling all of the floral, decor, and catering for us (we already had our venue booked so did partial planning), she provided us with recommendations for vendors when we asked, and let me tell you, all of her recommendations were amazing, and saved us money along the way.
She took complete charge of the floral and catering proposals and made those choices SO easy for us; I initially thought we could handle food on our own but WOW I did not realize how many other things fall under the catering contract (linens, plates, silverware, etc.) and looking through the hundreds of food options was overwhelming. After one call with us Kim made all the requests and proposals using our favorite foods as a guide and wowed us with the offerings.
I felt completely at ease the day of the wedding, not worrying about any details other than getting my shoes on my feet and walking down the aisle. I would highly recommend Kim and everyone on the Liven it Up team for planning and day of coordinating (in fact, I already did and my friend also had a wonderful experience with her day of coordinator!). Liven it Up Events came highly recommended from two of my friends who used their planning and day of coordinator services and we could not be happier with our decision. I actually didn’t even research any other event planner options, after I spoke with Kim, it was a no-brainer. It was such a pleasure to work with Kim, I only wish I had another wedding or event to use her for! If you are on the fence about getting a planner, this is your sign to do it.

After researching MANY wedding planners in chicago AND interviewing my top three,
I made the easy decision to hire Lindsay Gaeta @ liven it up.
To sum up Lindsay she is kind, patient, creative and went above and beyond what I ever could have imagined. As a project manager in construction I had extremely high expectations and she blew me and my husband away.
She understood my (our) vision and went to work immediately.
She sourced and vetted the all the best vendors. She also coordinated vendors and the Catholic Church on my behalf as I was an out of town bride.
She handled my indecisiveness with grace and helped lead me to final decisions.
Even AFTER the wedding she sourced a wedding dress restoration company AND followed up the status of my dress.
Anything we asked if Lindsay she did above and beyond from the vendor payment spread sheet (with calendar reminders) to sourcing creative ways to incorporate my college friends. To personally taking care of the creative bathroom amenities.
She even helped me design and proof invitations, church programs and wedding welcome bags.
She also helped put on an amazing rehearsal dinner at an event space I never would have considered. Oh and don’t forget the morning after brunch that was perfect and I’ll I did was pick out to food. (At this point I has complete trust to let Lindsay do it :))
From the start of wedding weekend to leaving for the honeymoon she was by our sides with a smile and a calm sweet manor.
I have a feeling she has to deal with a few “day of” issues but I had no idea and now our wedding is being requested to be in multiple magazines.
My husband says Lindsay was the best money we spent on the wedding.
To sum it up from my experience … Lindsay will make your fairytale come true.
Liz was an amazing wedding planner and helped us go from signing a contract with her to saying “I do” in six months. After we told her we wanted to work with her, she had appointments to look at venues the following day. From there, she provided us with options for music, flowers, transportation and hotels. It was wonderful to receive an email that stated “here are two vendors available on your date, within your budget, that I have worked with in the past.” She saved us countless hours calling different vendors and potentially hitting dead ends. Throughout the process, she provided guidance on several decisions and always provided a “why.” For example, we were unsure about a first look and she provided several reasons why we should do one, and we are both so glad we did. It kept us calmer for the ceremony and we have some beautiful photos together in the city.
As we got closer to the wedding day, she provided different ideas for details that really added a wonderful touch to the whole reception. She also suggested I ask if my alterations place would press my wedding dress and when they said they didn’t she had a place that picked up the dress, made it look beautiful and then delivered it to the hotel. Everything was so stress free with Liz!
On the wedding day, she kept us calm, had refreshments set up for the wedding party and helped us have a beautiful ceremony. She made sure we got a moment to ourselves after the ceremony, she walked us in to see the reception room and decorations to let it all sink in before our guests saw, and just made the whole day wonderful.
I have been in many weddings and have had a lot of tasks to complete throughout the evening and things to get back to a hotel, etc. I felt after our first dance, we could relax and enjoy the evening with friends and family.

We interviewed three wedding planners and the decision to work with Liz K was an easy one. We signed a contract with Liven It Up Events and were soon visiting five wedding venues, all of which met our needs. After careful deliberation, we chose The Ivy Room run by Lettuce Entertain You. From there, Liz facilitated our choice of a fantastic band (Entourage), invitations, flowers, headquarters hotel and more. She recommended and we used a bridal shop and a men’s tailor. She negotiated contracts on our behalf, saving us money along the way.
The week of the wedding, Liz K was in touch frequently. We were unable to rehearse at The Ivy Room due to another event but she gave us a comprehensive orientation which she repeated the next day before the wedding. Everything came off without a hitch. The food was delicious, the dance floor was full and people stayed for an after-hours party which featured mini-Chicago hotdogs (Liz’ idea!).
Thank you, Liz for making the planning process such an enjoyable opportunity to get to know our new son-in-law and plan an event that we will happily recall for many years to come.
As a DJ, I frequently find myself collaborating with a number of different Event Planner and Coordinators and am always thrilled whenever everything clicks and you find yourself working with a like-minded professional who does their job with poise, grace, humor and tact. Lindsay of Liven It Up Events is such a professional. Her demeanor and attention to detail while navigating an event with many moving parts and complex circumstances could not have been better. She worked closely with the vendors in the months, weeks, and days leading up to the event and at the event itself. making sure we were all working together to provide the best possible experience for all the guests attending and most importantly, her clients. I am hopeful we have the opportunity to work together again, as I know it will be a genuinely positive experience and the event will run smoothly and professionally.
Kim Weinberg was our wedding coordinator and it’s hard to express how crucial she was to the success of our wedding. She was organized, helped us plan our entire weekend, supported venue setup, and she even took on communication with our vendors leading up to, and after the day. More than a coordinator she was a consultant, helping us with decisions along the way. Would recommend her to anyone looking for a perfectly planned out wedding.
She helped our night run so smoothly and put a lot of time and effort into the planning process as well!
Lindsay was fantastic. She had coordinated three of my friends weddings before mine so I knew I was in good hands. Still, she blew me away and definitely overdelivered. She was incredibly generous with her time, very calming and encouraging. She accommodated all of our requests and gave honest and thoughtful feedback. She was on top of every detail and I can't imagine having done it without her.
Tiffany from LIU was our day-of wedding planner. She was incredible and I cannot speak highly enough of her! She was professional, knowledgeable, kind, and easy to work with. Even though she was the day-of planner, she went above and beyond and gave us wonderful recommendations on vendors. Once she took over the coordination, we did not worry about a thing. Every time I spoke to her I felt so much better and less stressed, and our wedding day would not have been such a success without her. Thank you Tiffany!

We worked with Kim Weinberg for our wedding at Rockwell on the River in Chicago. We HIGHLY recommend Liven It Up and Kim specifically. Kim was very responsive (over our 1.5 years planning process), kind, thoughtful, and organized. She listened to exactly what we wanted and worked tirelessly to deliver us the wedding of our dreams. Our wedding day felt effortless, everything was taken care of because of Kim's great preparation. Kim is also very resourceful, looking for ways/areas we could save money. You will not be disappointed with Kim's work!
I’m so happy I made the best choice for the big day in my life. Anthony did a great job planning everything for my wedding. We started the process one year ago, it wasn’t easy. Still during the COVID, and with me oversea in Japan while my husband in the states. But Anthony helped us bring things together and always being positive, encouraging and reliable. All these effort paid off really well. The venue was beautiful, flowers were stunning, food were so delicious, and the flow of the whole day was very smooth. Everyone had a great time, it is definitely gonna be one of the most memorable wedding for a lot of guests as well. I was first referred to Liven It Up Events by another one of our vendors and boy am I ever so GRATEFUL!!! When we first booked Kim, never could I have imagined how much of a lifesaver should would be. Due to COVID, our original wedding date of May 16, 2020 was postponed to August 1, 2020. As we approached 8/1, my fiancé (now husband) and I realized that our original dream wedding of about 200 people would not happen. We completely scrapped our original plan, cancelled the venue and church, and planned a completely new wedding for 60 people at a private residence in a matter of 5 weeks. During this entire process, Kim was there for us. She took care of all the emails and phone calls and answered any and all questions that I had. And believe me, there were a lot! She put us into contact with new vendors that would be able to accommodate our new plan, and I can honestly say that without her, I have no idea what our wedding would have looked like. In the early stages of planning, Kim helped me narrow my approved vendor list to select those which were right for our event, surely saving us time and money.

My favorite advice she gave was what to do about a bouquet toss. We did not invite children to our wedding and most of my friends are already married. Kim suggested just passing the bouquet to my newly engaged maid of honor. This was such a special moment affirming our lifelong friendship.
Quite comically, our reverend for hire lingered well past his welcome, drinking and eating to his heart's content during cocktail hour. Kim put her foot down to communicate he was not invited to the reception. (This had been previously discussed with him, he was just being very stubborn)

We hired Trisha from Liven It Up Events as our Wedding Day-Of Coordinator. I can honestly say that she was and is sooo much more than that to us. From the moment we hired this incredible team we were immediately cared for. Trisha gave so much of herself, giving us suggestions or ideas for ways to make our wedding day even more special. We had our own ideas, but we listened to her experience and advice and took it to heart which made everything all the better. Trisha cared for us when we had rough moments, knowing that there are inevitable stress melt-downs. On our wedding day, Anthony came by the bridal suite to wish us congrats and to check in. He is such a love! Honestly, this team gave us a truly perfect and magical day. My wedding dress (as I'm sure Trisha can attest to) was a beacon of chaos. She didn't flinch for a second. She knew exactly how to fix things, she set up the room and organized the vendors perfectly. She is absolutely brilliant and we love her and the team completely. We can't thank Sally from Liven It Up Events enough for being by our side throughout the entire wedding planning process. I can confidently say that her constant guidance, expert opinion and moral support made wedding planning such a fun experience for both my husband and I and our big day would not have been nearly as amazing without her. I think the most important thing to say about Sally is that she is so easy to get along with - she is smart, knowledgeable and has the best sense of humor. She's approachable and didn't bat an eyelash at my incessant emails, phone calls, texts (you get the idea) - she always had my back and kept me sane from start to finish.
Not only is she a joy to be around, but she added real tangible value to our wedding:
1) She found our venue! We never would have thought to look at the Art Institute if she hadn't recommended it. We weren't sure what our vision was for venue and she came up with lots of great ideas that we never would have known about.
2) She saved us money. She found efficiencies and gave us recommendations on where to invest our budget versus what wasn't as important.
3) She made the event run smoothly. Brides don't want to talk about the things that go wrong at their wedding, but inevitably, something will not go as planned. There were a few hitches in my day, but I had zero idea they happened until the next day because Sally and her team handled it all. The day of event producer we had was also fantastic - my parents relied on her a lot and said she was so kind and on top of things. They were worried about collecting all of our things at the end of the evening and she made it so easy.
Overall, the most important thing about working with Sally was that she worked hard and earned my trust. I trusted her to make decisions on my behalf knowing that she always had my best interest and vision in mind. Honestly I don't know what I would have done without her. Can't recommend Sally and the Liven It Up team enough.
We couldn’t have done our day without Kim! She truly was so supportive throughout our entire wedding planning process and made our vision come to life. When we initially sat down it felt like we were talking with a friend about our day. She covered all areas for our wedding day, including details we never would have thought of. I'll have to admit, I'm a pretty organized person and I wasn't sure exactly what a wedding planner could do that I couldn't - but all of my friends who got married before me all told me they regretted not hiring someone, so I decided a wedding planner sounded like a good invest. Kim was so helpful - from helping us figure out a realistic budget, recommending vendors, creating a timeline, and taking care of all the day of details - she was the reason everything ran as smoothly as it did! It was such a relief to have her with us all day! Our friends and family loved her and thought she was so nice to work with and loved that there was a go-to person for questions. Her attention to detail is incredible and she helped us nail down specifics that we hadn't even thought of! Lisa is very responsive and approachable - we truly thought we were working alongside a friend the entire time. On our wedding day, Lisa was prompt and made the entire day run flawlessly. She even picked up glass with her bare hands when someone broke a candle holder!!

Kim Weinberg from Liven It Up was nothing short of a miracle worker! Her communication was impeccable and it did not seem as if I ever had to lift a finger. Working with her was a pleasure- she is respectful and helpful, but most importantly, she is so much fun. I debated hiring a wedding planner, but after my initial consult with Kim, I was sold. I was not living in Chicago when planning, and Kim was there for me every step of the way. The entire process was stress free and she made it easy for both me and my mom. Lisa Wandel was our day-of coordinator and I couldn’t recommend her (and Liven It Up) more! We met with Lisa months before our wedding date and she took the lead in coordinating with our vendors. She is incredibly approachable and responsive - you feel as though you are working with a friend throughout the entire process. My husband and I were thrilled to have Lisa with us on our wedding day. My husband and I used Liven It Up Events for a day of coordinator for our October wedding. We were paired with our wedding fairy godmother, Tiffany, who was the absolute MVP of our wedding day. We met with Tiffany a few weeks before the wedding, however communication since we hired her was amazing. She was prompt in her responses, had no problems answering any questions for us, and always made us feel so much better. She ran our rehearsal with ease. My husband and I worked with Trisha for our wedding this past December, and man, is she amazing! We used her services as a day-of coordinator, to help our plans go smoothly and to make sure that we felt no stress on our big day. Trisha was amazing to work with, very responsible and helpful. One of my favorite stories about our day is how I told Trisha that I really dislike when ceremonies start 20 minutes late, because I am a very punctual person. Trisha listened - because at 5:30 on the dot, she had the bridal party in line and ready to enter! My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Kim for our "month-of" wedding planning service. While it is considered a month-of service, we worked with Kim for the few months leading up to wedding.
