THE BEST OF THE BEST! I cannot recommend LK Events & Design enough! Every wedding I have had with them has been an absolute dream. You can tell their entire team cares deeply for their clients and works tirelessly to make sure the event goes off without a hitch. With emotions running high on a wedding day, they manage difficult personalities with grace and professionalism. They are always right there when their clients need them. In addition to navigating the timeline of the day, their designs are always breathtaking. They take a couple's vision and turn it into the most beautiful reality. They all have such an incredible eye for detail and design (especially Steph, Alexis, & Lindsay!) I absolutely love working with them because they can handle anything and are always going above and beyond to take care of their couples.

We had the pleasure of working with Alexis at LK Events & Design who made us feel like we were planning our wedding with both a professional and a friend. As a hands-on bride and couple with a vision for our special day, Alexis ran with our ideas while also providing great suggestions. Through everything from a year long Covid delay to various vendor meetings (introducing us to some of our favorites along the way) she was extremely level-headed, friendly, focused and helped us to make decisions efficiently. Especially in the weeks leading up to the wedding she was detail and solutions oriented making sure nothing slipped through the cracks. Through threats of bad weather (which ended up being totally gorgeous!) she coordinated with us and all our vendors to make sure we had both plans A and B covered and kept our best interest/biggest desires at heart when making decisions day of to pivot with the forecast. We along with our family were able to be fully present and enjoy every moment of our wedding day stress-free thanks to Alexis working tirelessly behind the scenes all the while with grace and a smile on her face. Thanks you, Alexis & LK, for all the laughs and lovelies!
Alexis truly made our wedding day possible! We worked with her for over two years as we initially planned to be married in 2020 and then postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic. She was calm, cool and collected as we moved our dates and kept me organized (and sane) when the planning picked back up a year later. I felt very overwhelmed and Alexis gave me the space to enjoy the process by helping to troubleshoot and provide solutions. Arguably most importantly, she was so fun to hang out with! Given how much time you spend we spent together, throughout the planning and the wedding day itself, this was very important to me! Thank you Alexis and LK Events for the optimism, humor and attention to detail.
As the mother of the bride, I was told that the first thing I would need to do was line up a day-off coordinator. Following the wedding, other vendors and the bride raved about how well Alexis Milby and her helper Elle coordinated the day. I also know that I wasn't stressing about anything on the day of the wedding, so thanks, Alexis! We planned this wedding during the pandemic, so by the time the wedding actually happened, we had changed the date, the venue, the caterer, the band and had lost the church for the ceremony. We put coronavirus prevention plans in place (temperature checks, masks and purell as favors, decreased numbers, older folks in a separate room for the dinner, socially distanced tables), but working in this uncertain environment is challenging in an industry that depends on social interactions. By the way, we had no cases reported following the wedding. So, a special thanks to Alexis and Elle for doing a fabulous job during these unusual times. I would highly recommend LK Events.
Lindsay was our saving grace from the beginning, she eased any worry I had, helped us finalize decisions that weren't coming easily, and introduced us to our absolute favorite vendors. I still can't imagine how different it would've been without her recommendations. She was incredible with her response time and thoroughness, helped me stay on-vision (and on-budget), and gave me my needed doses of reality when asked. As a therapist I knew I would need my a sounding board of my own, and she did all of that and more. Her relationships with the vendors throughout Richmond is incredible and speaks to who she is a person and professional. She navigated some wedding rental shares and other issues as they arose, but always kept me focused on what mattered. As a professional she focuses on little details that make you feel important and did such a wonderful job as a "day of." My guests, especially my Mom, still remark how great of a job she did and she made our whole day go seamlessly. I never felt like my night was going by too fast, able to savor every over-planned moment, and I attribute it all to her and her team. More than anything, she understood how important my vision was to me and executed it down to the smallest design element flawlessly. Thank you so much!!!
Windy from LK Events was an absolute pleasure to work with. My husband and I planned our Richmond wedding from Colorado on a family property that required lots of planning, rentals, and logistics. She was able to execute everything perfectly even when our caterer fell through only a few months before the wedding. She was reassuring when the forecast called for 90% chance of rain (the weather ended up being perfect) and she handled everything in a timely and professional manner. She was easy to talk to and work with and I can not imagine having planned this wedding without her references, recommendations, and knowledge of the industry in the Richmond area. Hiring Windy Jennings of LK Events & Design as our wedding planner was absolutely one of the best decisions we made when planning my step-daughter’s wedding. The last thing any of us wanted to do was to be stressed about the wedding as we wanted to be able to enjoy the wedding day and I can honestly say we did not have to stress about a single thing on the day of the wedding. It was absolute perfection. I can say with confidence that this was due, in large part, to Windy’ services. Windy is one of the most organized individuals I have ever met and that is coming from a very organized Type A personality. From beginning to end, Windy took meticulous care of each and every detail. She recommended vendors that matched our personalities and design aesthetic. She always got back to us immediately and there was not a question she could not answer. The day before the wedding the weather forecast was rain and the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour were scheduled to be outside. Windy walked through various options with us and even though we had to deviate from the initial plan, the contingency plan was perfect. What could have been a very stressful moment was handled with professionalism and finesse and it was the perfect wedding day. Windy moved seamlessly and effortlessly behind the scenes the whole day and made the wedding truly magical, amazing and everything we had envisioned. I used LK Events for my May 2018 wedding. Lindsay was wonderful during the whole process! She was a wonderful sounding board to go over wedding details. My idea was executed perfectly with Lindsay’s help. She met with us several times before the big day and helped make decisions based on the space and time which was very helpful. I highly recommend her to any bride!
Lindsay was amazing. We were hesitant about hiring a wedding planner at first, since we thought we had all of the "big" items completed. Little did we know, there was so much we DIDN'T know. Every single vendor she recommended was amazing, she responded within minutes of an email or telephone call, and all of her suggestions were first class. Leading up to the event she took care of all of the last minute "to do" items, including welcome bags, favors, and anything else you might think of. We didn't have to worry about anything the week of the wedding. She coordinated with our florist and made design suggestions that we never would have dreamed of - and they were amazing! The day of, she coordinated with responsible members of the wedding party so that we didn't have to worry about anything. She made sure everyone knew and understood their responsibilities, and did so with an unparalleled level of professionalism. Lindsay is the absolute best!

As one of the first to get married in my friend group, and having no older cousins/siblings, I had little to no frame of reference when it came to wedding planning. I consider myself a fairly organized (read: OCD) person but I knew I needed help from someone who had at least been to a few weddings, let alone planned them. That being said, finding LK Events and Design at the start of my wedding planning process was such a relief. My fiance and I went with the partial planning option since we did need guidance but were willing to do the legwork and keep organized. We had an initial meeting with LK to go over our budget and initial ideas for the wedding, and even had a walkthrough at our venue. It was clear Lindsay had a wonderful relationship with our venue coordinator and I left the meeting feeling so excited and confident in the team we put together. I will say that I probably didn't utilize the full capabilities of our partial planning service throughout the entire process, as I was fairly self sufficient after some guidance (i.e. timeline, budget tools). However, as we got closer to our wedding date LK really stepped in and was very hands on the last month or so leading up to our big day. She reached out to and followed up with all of our vendors and answered the dozens of questions that flooded my head in the weeks leading up to our wedding. She even went to bat for us when one of our vendors pushed back on our vision for the reception. While email responsiveness was not always as quick as I would have liked, LK and team blew me away with how accommodating they were to my fiance and I, our wedding party, and both our families on the day of. We did not have to lift a finger on our wedding day and it really made the day so much more enjoyable for us and our friends and family. I would definitely recommend LK and team to other couples for their big day.
As overwhelming as wedding planning can be, choosing a qualified planner is critical! We made the best decision in hiring Windy Jennings of LK Design. She is so experienced and kept us on track from start to finish. Windy is super organized and her timelines are right on point. She guided us through some overwhelming decisions and her calm demeanor was always reassuring. Windy also had great respect for our budget and helped us find ways to use our money wisely. She made herself available to us any time, day or night and answered our million questions! Our wedding was amazing and was everything we imagined! Thanks to Windy, she made it all happen!

When starting the planning process for our wedding, we had a vision of what we wanted for the day and had booked a beautiful venue in Charlottesville. When all of the tiny details of the wedding started to become overwhelming, working with both Lindsay and Windy with LK Events and Design brought a sense of calm. We began planning the wedding with Lindsay, and her creativity brought our vision to life. Lindsay answered each miniscule question with sincerity and calm, and consistently suggested options and directed us to great vendors. We knew from the outset that Lindsay would not be our “day-of” coordinator, but that her colleague, Windy, would come on board to run the day. Windy did not disappoint. As we transitioned to final details with Windy, she was aware of each and every plan and executed our day with precision and patience. She coordinated with each vendor, kept us on schedule throughout the day, and even packed up our limo with our belongings while we finished celebrating with our family and friends. The wedding of the decade took place on May 20th and Windy was the reason they will be talking about it for years! There was not a single detail that wasn't anticipated and managed by Windy with the lightest touch. LK Events and Design is absolutely, without a doubt, the best wedding planner service in Richmond and surrounding areas and I can even go so far to say, even in the entire state of Virginia. Lindsay Kennedy is the best!!!!!! We interviewed 4 different planners last May to help us with our daughter’s wedding. From the very first moment that we met Lindsay we knew that she was the perfect fit for us. She listened to all of our thoughts and wishes and immediately came up with a plan, full of extremely unique and new ideas, which always came to fruition. While being very professional at all times she was also so much fun to work with. At times I thought she was more excited about our wedding than we were. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TOP-NOTCH WEDDING PLANNING. Windy Jennings was our wedding coordinator for our May 6, 2017 wedding. My husband and I interviewed her and knew she would be the perfect combination of professionalism and personality for our wedding day. Wedding planning is so stressful, but Windy is a pro and instantly calmed my anxiety about the process. Windy gave great advice and pointed us in the appropriate direction for choosing our vendors. She had worked with all our vendors and all our vendors LOVED her, they were thrilled to learn she was the planner! I have to admit, I was not the best at responding to emails (wedding planning is overwhelming people!), but Windy never lost patience with me and always followed up with us. She was always available to talk on the phone and was prompt in her responses to us. Windy always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude. We are so grateful for her organization and efforts to make our day absolutely perfect. Thank you a million times over, Windy and LK Events!
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lindsay Kennedy and LK Events. From our first phone call with Lindsay I knew she would be the perfect mix of calm, reassuring, knowledgeable and incredibly detail-oriented. We hired Lindsay to be our month-of coordinator, but in the year leading up to the wedding Lindsay went above and beyond. Discussing details of the wedding with her was like talking to a close friend. We never felt like we were just a number or just "the October 1st wedding." She was so approachable, friendly and upbeat but her guidance showed a deep knowledge and shrewd understanding of all the inner workings of the wedding industry. She never let us get confused or led astray by other vendors because she instantly understood our personalities and our vision and put our minds at ease with every conversation.
All of her preparations in the months leading up to the wedding allowed her to know our wedding like it was her own so that by the time we got to the big day I completely handed over all control and decisions to her and didn't have to worry or second guess anything. We had no hesitation trusting her to flawlessly execute every detail of the wedding - and she did! I am sure she answered a million last minute questions from vendors and guests and made quick decisions on things I would have never contemplated, but I never saw or heard it (and for that I am eternally grateful).
Problems that could have derailed the day became insignificant hiccups - not only because of her quick thinking and creative problem solving, but also because she was calm, composed and smiling while she fixed the issues. You cannot help but feel relaxed and taken care of when Lindsay is in charge. She allowed us to keep our anxiety levels at a minimum and enjoy our day - something that is invaluable to any bride and groom.
Lindsay is unstoppable. Torrential rain, mountains of DIY decorations to transport, last minute changes and even the birth of her child couldn't slow Lindsay down. Lindsay was on maternity leave just a few weeks before our wedding but she never missed a beat. She made sure we had coverage from her business partner Windy (who was also wonderful to work with) but we didn't even need it! She had everything so well-planned in advance of her short absence and she jumped back in so seamlessly afterwards that it was as if she never left.
I was lucky enough to have a team of fantastic wedding vendors, but Lindsay was by far the best of the best. If you are debating whether or not to hire a wedding planner or day-of coordinator, stop questioning it and talk to Lindsay at LK Events and Designs. You will not regret it!

Windy was a total pro, from helping us figure out reception details to rain contingency plans for our plantation wedding, she was a text or email away. She did so much to make our special day beautiful and handled everything - from rainy site visits to last-minute ceremony changes! We couldn't have done it without her!
Asking Windy to help with our daughter's wedding was hands-down the best decision we made. We loved working with her. She figured us out within minutes and gently steered us in all the right directions. We really appreciated how responsive Windy was to our questions and concerns. It's so cliche to start a review this way, but "Where do I even begin?". But seriously, where do I? Lindsay was nothing short of a God send throughout the entire planning process. I utilized her full planning services and boy was it worth every single penny. She has extensive knowledge of every aspect of the wedding industry and it was so relieving to be able to lean on her for this. I got married in my hometown and the only space for the reception was very dated. They allowed me to bring in all of my own vendors which was great, but also overwhelming if you aren't familiar with wedding planning. The vendors she recommended were impeccable! She flipped the entire space and executed my vision FLAWLESSLY. I had a VERY specific idea of how I wanted things and I can say that my expectations were exceeded in a way that I could not have thought possible. She bent over backwards to make sure that everything was perfect. She did everything from coordination of meetings to stuffing and mailing my invitations. She EVEN drove to my parents house after her reception duties were over to get my exit dress (which I carelessly left amidst the excitement) and return it to me before the end of the evening so that I could have it for the sparkler exit. She's incredibly easy to work with, responsive, and the consummate professional. This is truly the tip of the iceberg in terms of how amazing she is. Lindsay was amazing! She executed my dream wedding flawlessly. She definitely knows what she's doing and is prepared for everything. Even when I cut my foot before our big reception entrance, she was prepared with bandaids and wipes to clean and when I lost my garter she had a spare. She wasn't afraid to give her honest opinion if she thought one of my ideas could backfire. I could not have done it without her. She made the wedding planning process so much easier..and fun!
Lindsay is FANTASTIC at her job. We had the type of wedding where we had to bring everything to the venue, nothing was included. Needless to say it was A LOT of moving pieces and Lindsay handled it flawlessly start to finish. She was able to handle all of the day-of issues for us, schedule modifications and things that popped up without reaching out to us at all so that we could enjoy the day. We completely trusted her judgment, as we'd been working with her for the last few months and she put us at ease. Where to begin! After meeting Windy through my sister's wedding, I knew I needed this highly-organized, helpful and relaxed woman on my team when it was my turn. From the first meeting to the (several) post-wedding, frantic phone calls looking for missing cake plates and other items, Windy put me totally at ease. She guided my fiance and I through the very detailed and complex process of an outdoor/tent wedding and didn't miss a thing! In the months leading up to the wedding, she indulged my slight OCDness :) - hopping on phone calls, responding to numerous emails, and providing so many helpful ideas and tips. When weather forecasts turned gloomy, she was right on top of things putting together a rain plan and coordinating with all of my vendors. THANK GOODNESS she did because man, did it rain! Our spring, outdoor wedding turned to 50 degrees with all-day rain, but Windy was totally in control the whole time. When I arrived at the wedding location, everything looked more amazing than I ever could have dreamed - she truly brought my vision to life. She handled all the last-minute changes and adjustments with grace and pulled off our DREAM wedding despite the weather. If you're looking for a wedding planner who will put you at ease and make sure your day is everything you've ever dreamed, look no further. Windy is IT!!
Lindsay is a dream come true! There is NO WAY I could have had such a flawless and stress-free day without her. I have a full time job and my husband and I sold two homes, built a new one, and spent time with family that struggled with several health issues during the seven months we planned our wedding. Lindsay kept me calm all along the way and did the heavy lifting that I think brides and their mothers typically take on. With each phase of planning, Lindsay presented me with options that aligned with our style and personalities as well as our budget. She kept us on schedule and reminded us when we needed to take action on a decision. And, she did all of this with a professional, calm and pleasant demeanor. She had wonderful access to vendors and gorgeous creative ideas that really made our day beautiful and unique. Lindsay's all-inclusive package is absolutely the way to go. There are just so many details and decisions that she helped to make much easier. Finally, she goes ABOVE and BEYOND to satisfy her client's needs. She made my husbands dream come true when she was able to find a very rare and classic car to pick us up and be our getaway car after the wedding. This was a surprise gift to my husband and she knew how important it was to me. She made a low probability request a reality. The idea of paying someone to help my fiancee and I plan what's essentially a big party seemed ridiculous to me. Regardless, having lost every other battle except the band (Gonzo's Nose - the greatest wedding band of all time), we ended up hiring Lindsay for the last 6 weeks of our process.
It was the second best decision (see band above) that we made during the entire process.
Lindsay took control immediately. She handled logistics with the various vendors (including surprises which my wife and I had both planned for each other), smoothed frayed nerves, and moved the ball forward. Truly, what was so striking about those last 6 weeks leading into the wedding (that final period which all of our friends had warned us would be miserable)is how calm they were.
When we finally arrived in Richmond, Lindsay was an ever present presence, handling gift bags, our relatives, last minute guest changes, and even wrangling her brother to do a liquor run for our rehearsal picnic. And she handled all of the balls (and there were a lot of them), with a sense of humor and grace which helped calm all parties involved. We trusted her completely.
So guys, this is one fight you should give in on. Lindsay will keep your bride, and her mother, calm, and in doing so will make your life easier.
My only regret is that we discovered Lindsay too late. I would have loved to have her throughout the entire process.
I was lucky enough to find Windy from LK events & design and use her as my wedding planner. Up until a month before the wedding i was living in NYC so it wasn't the easiest of situations. Most of our wedding planner and coordination was done over email and Windy never missed a beat. From day one until the wedding day she kept things calm, organized, and was able to be flexible and improvise anytime we needed. She was so good at keeping me on track, recommending awesome vendors, and doing whatever it took to make the day perfect!
A big THANK YOU to Windy for facilitating our perfect day in Williamsburg. Working with Windy was not only a pleasure but also just a lot of fun. Lindsay with LK was the key to making our wedding perfect! Upfront she took the time to get to know us and really understand what we wanted our wedding to be like. I had met Lindsay a while back through a mutual friend. However, I never got to know her really well. When I found her on my Google search, I gave her a call!
She was truly a life saver, and she was worth every penny. While I had my ideas about what I wanted and how I wanted things, it ended at that. I didn't know all the small details as far as insurances needed, paperwork needed, licenses needed, etc. She gave excellent referrals for photographers, caterers, florists, etc.
Lindsay was always willing to meet and/or have phone chats. She had her challenge with me, as I am incredibly laid back and care free. She kept me on track through it all. She helped us so much during the months leading up to the wedding, on our wedding day, and even with post-wedding stuff. (She packed up all of our stuff from the wedding and took it to our house so we could leave for our honeymoon!)
Lindsay is incredibly kind and fun-loving. She's so easy to get along with! I also had the pleasure of meeting one of her assistants on the day of the wedding, and she was just as sweet.

My groom and I decided early on to use a planner to make sure all went smoothly on the big day, and to help narrow down vendor with my busy schedule. After doing some research, LK was definitely right for us.
Lindsay Averette was so energetic, a great listener, and fantastic to work with. She created a personal timeline which really helped me focus and make sure we had everything done in a timely manner, with nothing left behind. She made some wonderful recommendations for vendors; with all the decisions that have to be made for weddings, it was helpful to have insight from an experienced professional.
By the time we got to the day- of, I felt so relaxed knowing that LK helped us ensure we had some wonderful vendors in place, that LK would make sure our vision was achieved, and they would handle the set-up, clean-up and hiccups along the way, leaving us to just enjoy it!
Lindsay and her assistant Shelley of LK Events are two amazingly professional and talented young women. I selected LK after seeing Lindsay's impressive portfolio and being won over by her relaxed yet professional demeanor. Lindsay couldn't be with us on our big day due to a personal wedding, but we were in good hands with her assistant Shelley. LK answered my many questions promptly and helpfully and recommended some great vendors. She also made some wonderful suggestions to help me incorporate our theme of "vintage library." The day of my wedding, I couldn't help but stop and stare at the decor--somehow, LK managed to take the image in my head of my perfect wedding and recreate it in our venue! Shelley made sure everything ran smoothly and on time, and I was completely relaxed knowing she had everything under control. I can't recommend LK Events enough!
