I would like to echo all of the other 1 star reviews on here. We had a very similar experience and it created a lot of unnecessary stress, money, time, and energy. It is a shame that such a beautiful venue was a nightmare to work with.
When we initially toured the property, we were told everything we wanted to hear. Had we known that their promises were empty, we would have selected a different venue. Between booking and wedding we dealt with three different event managers. To name a few issues, there were conflicting services, outside areas being accessible then not, beverages available for purchase at rehearsal to not (but you can’t bring in your own), ceremony seats provided then not.
There weren’t any reviews when we booked our date so we took the gamble. Turns out, it was all too good to be true.
Be wary of booking this venue unless you are prepared for high prices and terrible planning. To give a few more examples, LogStill employees sent our first arriving, wedding party members away from our rehearsal because they “forgot to put our date on the calendar” and told them there was not a rehearsal there that evening. This was planned a year in advance and was discussed many times leading up to the wedding. We wasted multiple hours over the phone and in person asking for our bill to be corrected because the calculations did not make sense. The outdoor location where we initally planned to get married had to change. Extra charges will be billed to you after wedding day. All in all, our experience was a total disaster.
We have only great things to say about all of our other vendors. The professionalism with LogStill was virtually nonexistant.
Save yourself the frustration and disappointment. Book at your own risk.
We had our daughter's wedding and rehearsal dinner at The Legacy at Logstill on Oct. 11 and 12th. It couldn't have been more perfect! Everything from the staff to the food and bar was wonderful!
The venue itself is beautiful-and complete with a chapel, bride's dressing room and lounge and groom's lounge. The luxury of having everything in one place is ideal.
The property has several airbnb's that make it very convenient and the houses are beautiful! The Mansion is located within steps of the venue.
Weeks after the wedding, our family and friends are still talking about how nice the wedding and reception were and how they enjoyed Logstill as a whole.
If you are considering having your wedding or event here, do not hesitate. It was a decision well made and I highly recommend it!
Special thanks to Shae and Carla and the rest of the staff. They were phenomenal!

I have been searching for a venue long and hard around Bardstown when I came across this venue. It was absolutely perfect so I reached out through The Knot messaging. No response. I know some venues might not check these messages so I sent an inquiry through their website. No response. I went as far as their Facebook page where I finally got a response to message a man. No response from the man. Based on the other reviews, I’m glad they didn’t reach out to me. It’s been around 5 months since I first reached out so good luck planning a wedding if it’s in this decade.
This review comes with a heavy heart and not as a disgruntled parent. My son and daughter-in-law booked the Legacy at Dant Crossing/Log Distillery back in July, 2023. Their wedding was this last weekend April 27, 2024. Over those 8+ months of planning we went through two General Managers and four on site contact hospitality employees (although no one ever had an actual title, this is what I’d guess they were).
To say this venue has a very high employee turnover is an understatement. The communication and professionalism was horrific. There would be weeks if not months where we would go without getting answers to any questions or concerns that we had. This became extremely frustrating and made for a tense planning process which should have been something of joy. When we tried to reach out to the owner of the venue Wally Dant we were re-directed to his girlfriend who was recently promoted to “Hospitality Manager” and “re-assured us” that they would “make sure everything will be taken care of.”
Never were those words “re-assuring” comforting to us through any of this.
Although this venue and property are absolutely gorgeous and our wedding was beautiful it most definitely wasn’t due to staff.
It would be a really good idea to hire a professional hospitality team and possibly send your employees to training on communication and professionalism skills.
The BnB’s on the property are stunning but those also came with unexplained charges that should have been pointed out to us before we exited instead of charging us and sending pictures after the fact.
This too requires some professionalism.
I will say the food was the only plus, our compliments to the chef. This was the only area that went smoothly. The chef was accommodating and prepared special menus for our rehearsal dinner.
As I mentioned in the beginning this isn’t a rant of emotions it’s a family that would have liked to have their children’s wedding day and all of the days leading up to it be more stress free.
We really encourage you to get it right for any future clients because I wouldn’t want anyone planning their child’s special day to have to go through what we did.

Just don't do it. It's a mirage. You'll be told everything you want to hear, and then have the rug pulled from under you. No professionalism whatsoever. Changes in management 3x and never once were we informed. Instead we were ghosted for weeks with no return calls/emails and then when we finally got ahold of someone in the office to find out "so and so" is no longer with us.... the last change occurred 2 weeks before the wedding. We were promised multiple things prior to each change and, with each change came more charges for xyz.
Wouldn't let you sign a contract to lock in the price of the menu items at booking because "things change" ie they will raise them and give you no choice but to agree.
Unless you plan to add in 10%-20% to your budget for unforeseen "inflation" & absolutely ludicrous "damages" charges. (Ie. Charged $170 for an already broken knife block in bnb, and "dirty" towels)
Hate to speak so poorly of a beautiful facility, but save yourself anguish and money and DO NOT DO IT!!!! They are terrible!!!
